00:00:59.360The president told an Italian newspaper that the pontiff, quote, doesn't understand and shouldn't be talking about war because he has no idea what's happening.
00:01:07.320We certainly have a good relationship with the Vatican, but we're also going to disagree on substantive questions from time to time.
00:01:13.260I think that's a totally reasonable thing.
00:01:14.820I certainly think that in some cases, it would be best for the Vatican to stick to matters of
00:01:22.060morality, to stick to matters of what's going on in the Catholic Church, and let the President
00:01:28.020of the United States stick to dictating American public policy. One suspect is dead. A child is
00:01:33.120recovering after a very scary incident at a Walmart in Nebraska, where police say somebody
00:01:37.720tried to kidnap a toddler at knife point. Investigators are still trying to piece together
00:01:41.300what happened here, but they say officers approached the suspect outside the store.
00:01:44.960She had a knife. They said, drop the knife. And that is when they say she slashed
00:01:48.280this three-year-old across the face. At least one officer then opened fire.
00:01:52.280Fortunately, that little boy, that three-year-old is expected to be okay.
00:01:55.440Tonight, that high stakes U.S. naval blockade of all Iranian ports is holding.
00:02:00.480U.S. Central Command saying no ships got past the blockade in the first 24 hours
00:02:05.040and six merchant vessels were turned round. The U.S. hoping to choke Iran's oil income
00:09:29.820Is that right? Whatever you do, you do not want to become like Europe. We are failing.
00:09:37.280That's it. We'll leave it right there. Nick, thank you so much. And Kevin, thank you so much
00:09:41.400as well for your great reporting there in Dublin. We'll keep an eye on this as the farmers keep
00:09:45.600protesting there. 60% taxes on gas sounds terrible to me, but I think that's exactly why President
00:09:50.700Trump is making his stand now and saying, you know, look, we've got to stop becoming like Europe.
00:09:54.660We don't want to be anything like them. And I think Nick just spoke to that. Well, I want to
00:09:57.400segue now to the press conference we just saw with Caroline Levitt because Jack Posobiec was in the
00:10:01.720new media chair and he had a question for the press secretary regarding Eric Swalwell, which
00:10:06.540he, a story he's been covering all week. Let's take a look at that clip. This past Saturday,
00:10:10.900I published a video of former, now former representative Eric Swalwell in bed. As the
00:10:19.260president said in Las Vegas, well, Eric Swalwell was in Las Vegas in this video. I'm told, according
00:10:23.320geotagging. This scandal has erupted now. Accusers coming forward, many others coming forward,
00:10:29.500as well as questions regarding his extremely close relationship with Arizona Senator Ruben
00:10:35.000Gallego. And I want to know if the administration had any comment on the fact that Senator Gallego
00:10:40.880seemed to be very vocal about wanting the release of the Epstein files. And yet when questions come
00:10:46.380to his own involvement with Eric Swalwell, he doesn't seem to want to provide anything.0.90
00:10:50.280Yeah, look, I think the accusations and allegations against former Representative Swalwell are despicable and disgusting.
00:10:58.720I think it's also quite plausible, as you point out, Jack, that there were many other Democrats in this town on Capitol Hill who knew about his perhaps illegal behavior, certainly his disgusting and inappropriate behavior.
00:11:14.020I think those are questions that must be raised of these sitting representatives, including Mr. Gallego.
00:11:18.560And I hope that the journalists in this room will do their jobs and the journalists on Capitol Hill will do their jobs to ask Democrats in power how they knew about such despicable behavior from one of their elected representatives for so long, but never said or did anything about it.
00:11:32.600So that's what we hope to see as far as the White House and the president is concerned.
00:11:36.780So there you see the question from Jack Posobiec to Caroline Levitt.
00:11:41.080We want to bring in our guest now, Evita Duffy.
00:11:43.480Evita, thank you so much for joining us here on Human Events.
00:11:45.820You know, Evita, obviously all this salacious stuff about Swalwell is just building and building.
00:12:06.960Yeah, well, I mean, first of all, I think that Democrats saw the writing on the wall.
00:12:10.080In order for them to win this gubernatorial election, they have to consolidate power with one Democrat.
00:12:17.560And having Swalwell in the race as kind of the weaker candidate was really harmful to them.
00:12:22.240What I think is interesting about what Carolyn Levitt said in that clip is that she hopes the journalists in the room actually go and investigate this story.
00:12:30.440Because Gallego is obviously a close friend of Swalwell.
00:12:33.860But also there's been rumors and accusations that he may have been the second person in the room.
00:12:40.580We don't know. There hasn't been an investigation.
00:12:42.700The journalists aren't doing their job because, again, this is about one scalp.
00:12:48.840It's not about anybody else because they wanted to get him out of this gubernatorial race.
00:12:53.260And what Americans everywhere are saying is I don't really care about Democrats' political aspirations in California
00:12:59.840and they're hoping to need to control that state.
00:13:02.180We just want people to be held accountable, finally, in elected office.
00:13:07.920And I think that we're not going to see that from the Democrat establishment or the left-wing media, who, by the way, right now are congratulating themselves.
00:13:15.200Brian Stelter, I think, had this entire monologue about how wonderful it is that he and his other pals in the corporate media are taking on this story.
00:13:23.040Yeah, they're taking on this story at the behest of the Democratic Party because it's beneficial to Democrats in California.
00:13:32.600This is one. That's all they're interested in, who, again, a very close friend of Swalwell and should be looked into.
00:13:38.580Well, Evita, you know, I was reading some of the testimony of Lana Drews.
00:13:42.360She said that she was drugged and choked and raped by him in 2018.
00:13:46.960And what I thought was interesting is Swalwell's attorney says that these accusations are, quote, false and offensive.
00:13:51.560Now, to me, that's a way of deflecting. I mean, what's more offensive, the allegation or the actual crime?
00:13:56.960It turns the heat back on the victim as if she's the liar. That's what I took away from that.
00:14:03.060Right. I mean, it's complete deflection. And it's I mean, the context here is truly despicable, right?
00:14:09.480I mean, there are rules, laws against members of Congress having these sort of relationships with underlings, with junior staffers.
00:14:17.460So this is completely unallowed. So if these allegations are correct, I mean, this is extremely serious. And of course, he's being dismissive about it. And again, he's also a man who is married at the time, you know, his wife was was apparently pregnant.
00:14:32.000And so I think what all of us are thinking as the story is rolling out is we want leaders like the founding fathers, right?
00:14:43.040These were upstanding, good Christian men.
00:14:46.000What we're seeing come out of Washington lately and hidden by other powerful people in Washington is despicable.
00:14:53.740How does somebody like Eric Swalwell get elected?
00:14:56.520Not only that, how does he stay in power for as long as he did?
00:14:59.420Why is he sitting on the Intelligence Committee when clearly he's somebody who's very easily compromised?
00:15:07.240All of these things should make every single American, irrespective of political affiliation, take a step back and say, we really need new leadership in Washington.
00:16:22.460The question that we have here is we know what it looks like when the media wants to go after someone.
00:16:30.000We know what it looks like, whether it's the takedown of Harvey Weinstein, whether it's the takedown of Jeffrey Epstein, whether it's the takedown of whoever, whoever it is.
00:16:38.040And when they went after Kavanaugh as well, we know what it looks like.
00:16:41.000We know what one of those pressure campaigns looks like.
00:16:43.040But where is that kind of energy when it comes to Eric Swalwell?
00:16:46.280And we know, and I asked Press Secretary Caroline the question just now, where's the energy for Senator Ruben Gallego of Arizona, who we know is a close friend, they traveled together, they appeared shirtless on vacation together, they have text messages back and forth that they've tweeted out, and he was out all year, all last year, saying, Epstein, Epstein, Epstein, Epstein, release the files, release the files, release the files.
00:17:13.140OK, those files are out. But what about your files with Swalwell? What about the Swalwell files?
00:17:19.580Where's that same level of energy? And we just don't see it. So and I'll come back with you.
00:17:26.680I think we have one more segment. But but, Bo, that's what this comes down to me about is who else in government knew about this, especially this network of close friends.
00:17:35.880Yeah. And to Vita, to your point, I mean, was this just the means to the end?
00:17:39.500You know, like you're saying, Brian Stelter and all these people are piling on saying, oh, look at what we're doing.
00:17:43.400When in actuality, it just helps the Democrats because they didn't have an effective candidate running for governor.
00:17:50.040There is zero chance that Democratic leadership, that Nancy Pelosi, especially leadership in the state of California, didn't at least hear rumors about what was happening with Eric Swalwell.
00:19:34.480And we now saw on the L.A. side that that has come out.
00:19:37.680And I'm telling you that regarding the specific situation that I've been reporting on regarding this Las Vegas bedroom is on the radar of law enforcement as we speak.
00:19:49.860And that's all I can really say about that right now.
00:19:53.380And, Evita, this is my big question here is it's not even about, you know, Swalwell as a person.
00:20:01.800It's about this wider network that he seems to have been operating with, because does it does anything that Ruben Gallego say make any sense when he came out yesterday and he was saying that, oh, that he fooled me and he lived a double life like he's like Batman or something?
00:20:17.420It's ridiculous. It doesn't pass the smell test.0.61
00:20:20.160No, it doesn't, Jack. And I was thinking about this story.
00:20:24.400First of all, when you're a parent, right, you're a parent in 2026.
00:20:29.600Unfortunately, you have to have conversations with your 16 year old son, like, hey, I know
00:20:33.860you have a Snapchat, like, don't be sending D pics out.
00:20:36.960And you have to send the tell that to your 16 year old son, maybe because their prefrontal
00:20:44.160We're talking about like a 40 something year old sitting member of Congress, somebody who
00:20:49.480wanted to be the governor of California.
00:20:51.160This is a leader in our country. And this idea, I said it was absurd that other Democrats didn't know about this or at least hadn't heard the rumors, is, I think, of course, ridiculous at its face.0.92
00:21:04.160But I also think that that might be on purpose. I feel that they pick individuals to run for office, to be elevated in power because they are loose cannons, because they are completely deplorable and disgusting individuals, because they're easier to control.0.97
00:21:23.140I mean, you saw the second that they didn't want Eric Swalwell in this governor's race, everybody comes out and is taking this man down.
00:21:30.820And I think that there that is a reflection of this idea, Jack, that you were talking about, where there's probably a lot of other ones like it.
00:21:36.880And you know what? They all have to go.
00:21:38.840I don't care if you have compromising individual information about this person and they vote really well on the Democrat or Republican side.0.98
00:21:46.060We can't have leaders in our country who are disgusting, compromisable human beings.
00:21:51.340First of all, it's a national security threat, but second of all, it's not who we are.0.93
00:29:28.460Of course, the Strait of Hormuz is open and that Xi Jinping is very, very happy.
00:29:40.180It's almost like it's almost like it's all been connected all along.
00:29:45.460Well, someone who's been helping us connect the dots here and someone who understands the big picture is Malcolm Flex.
00:29:50.580He's been on as well. Flex, how you doing, man?
00:29:52.700man i'm tired dog i've been picking up this phone every single time because i keep calling it and
00:29:59.780it's just one of those situations where man if only there were somebody somebody who could it
00:30:07.180be who geez someone to just just just walk us through who could have predicted this series of
00:30:15.160events but but flex walk walk through it walk us through that and by the way i'm not and i'm not
00:30:20.540discounting as well, that if you go over to Pete Hegseth and the Pentagon, what did they sign
00:30:27.160earlier this week? Oh, that's right. A military defense treaty with Indonesia, right? Was Indonesia
00:30:34.740going to come to America's defense? You know, I don't know. But what's that really about? That's
00:30:38.780about Indonesia's influence over the Strait of Malacca. So you got Strait of Hormuz, Strait of
00:30:45.200malacca and then the taiwan strait it all is inextricably connected and if you just look
00:30:50.980at a map you can see what the president's strategy is you you can you can have your
00:30:56.640opinion agree disagree but understand that this is a bigger game flex why is it that some people
00:31:02.680just don't see the pieces here and they they never took a map break and that's yeah i appreciate
00:31:11.500Yeah, I know. But, you know, in all honesty here, in all honesty here, though, let's, you know, let's sort of be real. Regional conflicts are dead. In this world, you don't have situations where the region exists by itself in an insular bubble.
00:31:29.760Like anything that you do influences somebody else's possible partnership somewhere where they're getting things.
00:31:35.660You know, this new rules based international order exists to preserve these waterways, these straits, the Strait of Malacca, you know, Strait of Taiwan, Strait of Hormuz, as has entered the public consciousness.
00:31:47.220All of this is a larger piece in how countries survive.
00:31:51.260And this is based on an order that we established.
00:31:56.020And I remember there was actually a quote from a Xi Jinping speech where he was giving where he was trying to project strength, saying that, you know, a Chinese are the people of peace.
00:32:07.500But if you defy what we are setting up, then we will bring in, I believe it was a hammer.
00:32:14.660It was something basically saying that, hey, don't mess with us.
00:32:18.840We are peaceful. But at the same time, you mess with us and we're going to come for you.
00:32:22.720Well, I wonder why interrupting Strait of Hormuz is such a big deal for Xi.
00:36:12.560And, you know, furthermore, again, people, it's like we were just saying, people think
00:36:16.580war is just about hurling metal with explosive chemicals in it.
00:36:20.620And, you know, they think it's all about just big boom stick and big bomb go boom.
00:36:26.200But no, war is a complicated, it's a very complicated tug of war of logistics.
00:36:32.020And that Belt and Road Initiative essentially establishes a logistical chain with China that makes them unassailable, that essentially makes them superior.
00:36:41.680They have access to most of the world.
00:36:44.840And then we have to go back to what we talked about with Taiwan, which I'm sure we'll do.
00:40:41.900Turn around and prepare to be boarded.
00:40:42.900If you do not comply with this blockade, we will use ports.
00:40:46.400The whole of the United States Navy is ready to force compliance.
00:40:51.400Well, there you go, Flex. That's the United States Navy saying, hey, this is legal action. We are announcing a blockade. We are enforcing sanctions. We are here and we mean absolute business. What's your response to how this has played out?
00:41:06.320man drödinger's blockade just got resolved i suppose so uh yeah this could get very spicy
00:41:13.740if the united states is going to utilize our naval assets to assert dominance in that area
00:41:19.580somebody's gonna have to make a move and now i'm just wondering what does the rest of the world
00:41:25.160read this as because you know i'm pretty sure the rest of the world just wants oil going through
00:41:31.180you know feeling basically pouring that oil out from ron just out there but now we're presenting
00:41:37.180a blockade of an already or supposedly already block blockaded in mind area i you know i've got
00:41:44.440to imagine we're only just we're doing that necessarily to demine and just sort of clean up
00:41:49.360the strait anyways but this is just sort of the united states trying to present and they might be
00:41:56.820doing it they might be doing it very well if nobody challenges them that hey we've got the
00:42:00.600situation under control the rest of you guys that didn't help us out well hey sorry you're not
00:42:05.640getting in you're not getting out it's going to be in our court and so this is an interesting show
00:42:12.420of strength and what i'm wondering is again who makes the first move who's feeling froggy right
00:42:18.660now because man that is spicy i've gotten no it's exactly right and and and this is what we call it
00:42:28.560It's Schrodinger's blockade because President Trump, we saw his tweet this morning, his
00:42:32.720true social this morning, that the straits are open and China's very happy.
00:42:37.920But then, of course, we see the U.S. Navy still enforcing the blockade with this destroyer,
00:42:42.580the messaging that they're putting out.
