00:50:29.840 One out of four San Francisco residents pulled to say that they were a victim of crime in the last year,

00:50:41.840 Rising crime and homelessness, high taxes, and unaffordable housing under Newsom has resulted in people fleeing the state.

00:50:49.840 The state's total population declined by 573,000 from its peak in 2020.

00:50:56.840 I have interviewed hundreds of homeless people in California.

00:51:00.840 Many, if not most, are from out of state.

00:51:03.840 Many said they came to California so that they could be paid to use hard drugs,

00:51:08.840 in many cases to self-medicate severe mental illness.

00:51:13.840 And many are assaulted and left to die,

00:51:16.840 resulting in far higher rates of drug death than other parts of the nation.
