00:01:30.000 Thank you.
00:01:59.980 Hello. Today is Wednesday, November the 4th, 2026, and this is episode 1129. How are you guys doing? You doing all right out there? Hey there, proudly deplorable. Hi, Arkin John. It was a long night, wasn't it?
00:02:17.600 Tim Peck, 1157, good to see you.
00:02:21.520 All right, Deb Rich, how are you?
00:02:23.940 There you are.
00:02:24.880 Stone Jr., hello there.
00:02:27.380 G3 Power Book 335.
00:02:30.360 I know everybody's saying it's time to leave California, Jules, but you know what?
00:02:34.660 I was talking to my good friend Jenny, and she brought this up yesterday.
00:02:38.180 She reminded me of it because she is also a fellow Californian.
00:02:42.320 Unfortunately, we've been warning for a very long time that those refugees are going to other states, 0.99
00:02:50.200 that we may be better off just hanging out right where we are, because look what happened last night. 1.00
00:02:57.620 We're not going to dwell. We're not going to get upset over it.
00:03:00.120 I think we've all had enough of that, so we're going to get right into the facts of it.
00:03:04.560 Molly McFrawley, hello there. Hey, Marissa Renee, good to see you as well.
00:03:09.980 Joanne Colombo, 3656. It has been a very long night. I was up all night. I can go ahead and
00:03:17.180 tell you that, honestly. It was really something to behold. But you know what? It's another day.
00:03:25.260 And so before I get into a word of all that we're going to discuss today, please remember to like
00:03:31.120 this, share this, follow, and hit the notification button so that you always know the minute we go
00:03:37.020 live on this show I always forget to ask you to do that and I'm remembering now it's free it takes
00:03:43.900 you four seconds and it is the only reason a show like this one ever reaches somebody who has never
00:03:49.420 heard of it so thank you for that really appreciate it so you are in the litter box with Jules today
00:03:55.500 Cat Turd is busy doing what Cat Turd does he's got a lot of things planned for everybody we've
00:04:01.460 have a lot of things to look forward to on his end. So come on in, shut the door behind
00:04:08.080 you, get your water, find your spot. I'm going to start by saying the true thing because
00:04:14.860 I think you already have had enough of people managing you today. It did not go our way
00:04:21.900 last night. Not at all. Both chambers, the Senate and the House. And I'm not going to
00:04:28.480 hand you a number because a number is easy and it does not have the feel, right? I am going to
00:04:36.500 read you the states. Kansas, Iowa, Texas, Ohio, Maine, North Carolina, South Carolina,
00:04:48.680 and Alaska is still counting. And I know some of you woke up this morning and did not want to get
00:04:55.680 up and I know some of you have not said a word out loud yet today. I know a few of you went and
00:05:03.640 voted in the rain yesterday with a bad knee and a line after work because somebody told you it
00:05:08.960 mattered and then you sat there at 11 o'clock last night watching a number go the wrong way 0.98
00:05:14.440 and felt like a fool for caring. Well, you are not a fool for caring. I want to be careful here 0.99
00:05:23.840 because this is the moment where everybody in my business reaches for something they reach for a
00:05:28.740 silver lining or they reach for somebody to blame and both of those are a way of not sitting with
00:05:36.340 you so I am not going to do that one either here is what I'm going to do instead I'm going to tell
00:05:44.520 you what actually happened not how to feel about it what happened because something happened last
00:05:51.760 night. And then something else happened this morning. And the second thing is bigger than
00:05:56.740 the first thing. And almost nobody is telling you about it. That's going to be the whole hour.
00:06:02.900 There's no predictions in here. There's no polls. You have had a year of people reading you numbers,
00:06:08.700 and I'm not going to be the last one in the door doing it. One more thing before we get into it.
00:06:15.380 nothing about last night took away a single thing you believe an election counts votes
00:06:24.220 it does not grade your judgment whatever you thought was true on Monday morning
00:06:30.120 is still either true or not true today and the counting did not touch it all right with that
00:06:39.320 pull up a chair, let me tell you what just happened. 24 hours. That is how long it took.
00:06:48.640 The polls closed, the seats moved, and inside 24 hours, the people on our side of this thing
00:06:56.140 were not arguing with the other party anymore. Nope, they were arguing with each other,
00:07:02.740 in public, on camera, with their names on it. And I want to walk you through it in the order
00:07:10.240 it actually happened because the order is the story. The first one out the door was the vice
00:07:17.440 president. J.D. Vance stood up and gave a reason for last night. Not a dodge, not a processed
00:07:27.380 answer an actual reason. He said it was the war. Now, that was it. That was the diagnosis. The
00:07:38.080 thing that cost us those seats was the fighting overseas and the country's appetite for it.
00:07:44.420 Now, stay with me because of that, of all of the things that he could have said,
00:07:48.960 that one has a price tag on it. If the reason you lost is the war, then there is somebody
00:07:55.800 standing one step above you who decided to have it. He did not say that part. He did not have to.
00:08:04.440 Everybody who heard him did the arithmetic in their own head before he finished the sentence.
00:08:11.800 And then, the same day, the president answered, not in a week, not after a meeting, not through
00:08:22.380 somebody the same day. Donald Trump went in front of the camera and he did not back down one inch
00:08:31.740 on the strikes on Iran. He did not soften it. He did not say, well, we'll review the posture.
00:08:37.520 He doubled down on it on the record on the day his own vice president had just named it as the
00:08:46.480 reason for a bad night. Now, I want you to sit with the shape of that because the shape is what
00:08:54.920 matters more than either man's words. The number two says the problem is war. The number one says
00:09:04.720 the war was right. They are both still in the building. Neither of them walked it back. Nobody 0.98
00:09:10.920 issued a clarification. Nobody said he was taken out of context. That is not a gaffe.
00:09:19.360 That is a disagreement. And then came the third one. And the third one is the one that made me
00:09:25.940 put my drink down. Well, my water, to be specific. Ron DeSantis, the governor of Florida, a man who
00:09:36.700 was not shy and not stupid and not knew at this, looked at the same night everybody else looked at 0.92
00:09:44.400 and he gave a number. He said the party might not have a shot at the Senate until 2032. 0.93
00:09:57.900 2032. Those were the words that came out of his mouth. Let me do that out loud so it is not
00:10:06.640 an abstraction. That is not next year. That is not next midterm. That is not even the next
00:10:13.900 presidential. That is the one after the next presidential. A sitting governor of the third
00:10:22.680 largest state in the country said out loud on the day after an election that his own side may be
00:10:30.120 looking at six more years before it can take back the United States Senate. So now count them with
00:10:39.460 me. One, the vice president says the reason is the war. Two, the president says the war was right
00:10:47.760 and he is not moving. Three, the governor says the Senate may not come back until 2032. Three men,
00:10:57.120 three completely different answers one day. And here is what I keep turning over.
00:11:06.680 Not one of those three statements is about a voter. Think about that for a second.
00:11:13.540 You stood in line yesterday. Millions of you did. And of the three biggest names on our side of the
00:11:22.420 aisle. Inside the first 24 hours, not one of them said one word about what the person in that line
00:11:31.380 was trying to tell them. They talked about the war. They talked about posture. They talked about
00:11:38.620 a calendar. Nobody talked about the line. Now, I'm going to be straight with you about something
00:11:46.160 because I think you can handle it
00:11:47.720 and because I'm tired of being handled myself.
00:11:51.980 A party that loses a night
00:11:54.720 and then spends the next morning arguing
00:11:57.840 about why is not necessarily a party in trouble.
00:12:03.680 Sometimes that is what honest people do.
00:12:07.980 Sometimes the fight is actually the repair.
00:12:11.980 But a party that loses a night
00:12:13.940 and spends the next morning arguing about why without mentioning the people who stood in the
00:12:21.740 line is doing something else. That is not a diagnosis. That is three men each explaining
00:12:30.160 why it was not his fault. And I said I would not hand you a silver lining and I'm not going to.
00:12:39.940 so here's the part that is actually useful instead. While all three of them were out there
00:12:48.580 explaining, something else moved. Something with paper, something with signatures on it,
00:12:56.180 and dates and 20 names. It landed yesterday and almost nobody covered it because everybody with
00:13:04.060 the camera was busy filming three Republicans disagree.
00:13:08.660 We're going to get into that paper.
00:13:10.980 I promise you that.
00:13:12.880 But first, I have to tell you about a number out of Texas,
00:13:17.560 and it is not the number that you have been hearing.
00:13:23.160 Ken Paxton lost.
00:13:25.680 Now, I'm going to say that flat because you already know it
00:13:30.120 and because I'm not going to be one of those people
00:13:32.520 who takes four minutes to get to one-word fact.
00:13:37.900 He lost the Senate to James Tallarico.
00:13:42.700 Yep.
00:13:43.720 Now, you all know,
00:13:45.780 because you've been listening to this show enough,
00:13:47.780 that I have been a huge flag waver of Ken Paxton.
00:13:52.040 I mean, there's no question about it.
00:13:53.980 I thought for sure,
00:13:55.220 hey, this is going to be the guy
00:13:56.720 that we're going to be able to,
00:13:58.260 you know, that have the same things happened
00:14:00.700 with President Trump I mean they went after him big time and I've been with Kim Paxton I mean on
00:14:08.420 this program the whole time for a very long time and I'm not going to pretend that today is a day
00:14:13.260 that I enjoyed and I'm not going to tell you that he ran a bad race because I do not believe that
00:14:19.360 and I am not going to find a consultant to tell me what he should have done differently in August
00:14:26.500 just not happening but he lost that is the result a result is not a verdict on a man
00:14:35.580 and he did it the right way I mean he went out in Dallas before midnight he conceded and he said he
00:14:42.400 would pray for the man who beat him now I want to show you something that got buried under everything
00:14:49.300 else, because this is the part of last night nobody is walking you through. John Cornyn,
00:14:55.600 senator from Texas, Republican, and the man Ken Paxton beat in that primary back in May
00:15:03.320 after the president endorsed Paxton over him. And at 1038 last night, John Cornyn put out
00:15:11.320 a public congratulations to the Democrat. And there is a detail underneath that one
00:15:17.400 I want you to have because it is the detail that tells you what it actually was. He did not wait
00:15:24.900 for the morning. He picked up a phone Tuesday night while that race was still being called
00:15:30.320 and called James Tallarico. While it was still being called. Think about that for a second.
00:15:39.600 A United States Senator from Texas watched a Senate Texas seat go to a Democrat and his instinct in the first hour was not we lost something.
00:15:53.620 It was a phone call.
00:15:56.360 And I'm not alleging one thing about that man's motives because I do not have to.
00:16:02.680 I have his calendar and I have his own statement and they say it better than I could.
00:16:08.960 That is the whole thing that I have been telling you about for a year.
00:16:15.040 Some of these people would rather be right about a primary than hold a seat.
00:16:20.900 And that is not a Democrat problem.
00:16:23.760 You cannot fix that one at the ballot box in another state.
00:16:28.320 And it was not just the Senate seat in Texas either, which was part of that whole thing.
00:16:35.220 I mean, this is going to take days to sink in.
00:16:42.140 Greg Abbott lost the governor's race.
00:16:47.060 Governor of Texas conceded.
00:16:50.880 And the president of the United States did not wait a single news cycle before telling everybody what he thought the reason was.
00:16:59.260 And I am going to give you his words rather than mine because his are a lot sharper.
00:17:03.120 He said, if Greg Abbott had not become a rhino in the last six months of his political life, he would not have lost.
00:17:14.680 That is the president's word, not mine, rhino.
00:17:21.260 He said Abbott went back to his original formula and it was not pretty.
00:17:27.340 So there is your Texas, a Senate seat and the governor's mansion in the same night in the same state, everybody on our side treats as a given.
00:17:41.280 Now I have to talk to you about one thing that is going around right now today in our own circles, and I need about two minutes in your full attention because this is the most important thing that I am going to say to you all hour.
00:17:54.560 It is a screenshot and it has been seen more than 400,000 times and what it says is that
00:18:05.340 the FBI raided a storage facility in Houston, okay, you've probably seen it, and found 20,000
00:18:15.260 fraudulent Democrat ballots.
00:18:18.260 Well, the FBI's Houston office said the raid never happened, not that they found nothing,
00:18:23.720 but that there was no raid not that they found nothing there was no raid at all now here is why
00:18:31.320 I'm spending my airtime on this instead of something that would actually feel better
00:18:35.000 because I know exactly what it is you know what it's like to want that to be true today
00:18:40.360 I had a bad night too and when you have a bad night a screenshot that says the other side
00:18:46.720 cheated is the most comfortable thing anybody can hand you it takes the whole weight off your chest
00:18:51.940 for about four seconds and I'm not going to hand it to you. Not because I am better than anybody
00:18:58.660 because the minute I start telling you a thing is true because it hurts less. I am doing the exact
00:19:05.720 thing that I've spent four years calling other people out for and then I am worth nothing to you.
00:19:12.260 So if I would run a fake screenshot on a day and I am on the day that I am sad, you can never believe me on a day I am right.
00:19:24.600 So a lot of people bombarded me with this, with this particular shot about the FBI confirming the alleged raid and all of this stuff.
00:19:34.760 And they confirmed that it never happened, but that this whole thing, I mean, it had legs.
00:19:39.820 I want to make sure that you all know that they confirmed that the raid never happened.
00:19:46.020 So let me tell you what I think actually happened in Texas.
00:19:49.560 And I'm going to be as honest with you, even though you are not going to love it.
00:19:54.700 Somebody went and got those votes.
00:19:58.100 They did.
00:19:59.300 Door by door, phone by phone, ride by ride in a state we call ours for about 18 months.
00:20:04.500 while a lot of people on our side were arguing on the intent
00:20:07.880 about who was a real conservative,
00:20:10.920 which means those votes were not locked,
00:20:14.100 which means somebody had to be persuaded or driven to a polling place
00:20:18.040 or talked into going after sitting out the last one.
00:20:23.040 Every one of those three things is work, 0.79
00:20:27.680 and work is the only thing in politics that can be outworked.
00:20:32.920 That is why I'm telling you the hard version instead of the comfortable one.
00:20:36.960 A stolen number is a thing that you have to go to court about.
00:20:42.280 An earned number is a thing you can go beat.
00:20:47.740 And I would rather be in the second fight than in the first one
00:20:51.880 because I have seen how long the first one takes.
00:20:55.760 Now I said I would not hand you anything on a silver lining
00:20:59.040 and I am not calling that one.
00:21:02.040 Last night was bad news.
00:21:04.580 I am just telling you, it is bad news with a door in it.
00:21:10.260 And speaking of a door, nobody noticed there was something else on ballots all over this country yesterday.
00:21:17.860 And almost nobody has mentioned it out loud.
00:21:20.580 It's the craziest thing.
00:21:23.200 There was something else on ballots all over this country yesterday.
00:21:29.600 Data centers.
00:21:31.340 40 ballot measures about data centers went in front of voters yesterday in towns and counties
00:21:39.200 across 10 different states. The side that said no won 39 of them. 39 out of 40.
00:21:52.160 Now I want you to understand what that is because it's not a Republican thing and it should not be
00:21:57.920 a Democrat thing, and that's exactly why nobody led with it. A data center is a building. It's
00:22:04.680 full of computers. It needs power. It needs water, an awful lot of it. And when one goes up outside
00:22:13.460 your town, your power bill is in the conversation, whether anybody asked you or not. So 39 communities
00:22:20.760 in red places and blue places on the same night with everything else going on quietly voted to say
00:22:30.260 not here. In fact, Elon Musk made a joke about it. He said, well, looks like they'll be safe
00:22:38.440 in space data centers. One town in the whole country said yes. Harwood, North Dakota. One.
00:22:51.560 That is the most bipartisan thing that happened in America yesterday. And I did not see one panel
00:22:58.620 discuss it. File that one away. You're going to hear about it for the next two years. And I saved
00:23:06.660 this one for you. West Virginia. They did not vote on a data center yesterday. They voted on six
00:23:16.060 words. Only citizens of the United States. They took the Senate sitting in their own state
00:23:26.500 constitution, the one that said citizens of the state shall be entitled to vote, and they wrote
00:23:33.900 in only citizens of the United States who are citizens of this state. 78% said yes.
00:23:47.300 And here's the part I actually want you to hear because the 78 is not the number. This is the
00:23:54.460 number. To get on that ballot at all, it had to go through the West Virginia legislature first.
00:24:02.040 the vote in their house was 97 to nothing the vote in their senate was 34 to nothing
00:24:12.860 not one lawmaker in either chamber in that entire state voted no now hold on to that one
00:24:23.240 and then we move into the next one. The federal version of that same idea has been put in front
00:24:32.180 of the United States Senate at least five separate times this year. Five. And it has not passed once.
00:24:45.020 a state of a million and a half people did it unanimously in one session and the United States
00:24:54.440 Senate could not get it done in five tries so on a week where everybody is telling you the country
00:25:02.380 moved I want you to remember West Virginia the people did not need a leader they needed a ballot
00:25:12.060 Third thing, and this one is going to surprise some of you, the markets.
00:25:19.020 Everybody told you to brace for a bad day.
00:25:22.240 I mean, that was all over the place last night.
00:25:25.000 I mean, we are going to be hurt, bad, shellacking like never seen before.
00:25:29.640 Well, I'm going to tell you what actually happened because it is the opposite of what you were told.
00:25:35.120 And because nobody who is busy being upset today is going to tell you.
00:25:39.500 the Dow is up more than 1,500 points. Yep. Up. Climbing still. Up almost 3%.
00:25:54.420 And it is not just the Dow. Above all three of them, they opened above where they closed on
00:26:02.780 Tuesday. And not one of them has traded negative at any point today, not for a minute.
00:26:11.280 Now, I'm not going to tell you the market is a referendum on anything because it is not. And
00:26:16.900 anybody who tells you that it is on their good day forgets about it on their bad day. But what
00:26:24.020 I will tell you is what it means mechanically, because that part is actually the mechanics of
00:26:31.200 it. That's real. The people who move actual money looked at last night, all of it, both chambers and
00:26:38.600 decided it did not change one thing about what they were going to do today. Make of them what
00:26:46.460 you want. I am just not going to keep it from you because it does not fit the mood. And there is one
00:26:54.100 more piece of this. And this is the piece that I actually want you to keep. One group of stocks
00:26:59.260 went down today while everything else went up. Are you with me? Do you know which one I'm talking
00:27:07.380 about? The data center companies. So go back to what I just told you. 39 towns said not here
00:27:17.880 on a Tuesday and the money noticed by Wednesday afternoon. Now I want you to sit with that one
00:27:26.700 for a second because I know what kind of day you are having and I know it has not been a pleasant
00:27:32.120 one but think about what's going on. Nobody asked those towns for permission. Nobody put them on a
00:27:39.380 panel. There was no national campaign and there was no hashtag and there was nobody famous out
00:27:45.840 in front of it. They just showed up at a table in a school gym and voted in 40 different places
00:27:53.160 and it moved a number on a screen in New York inside of 24 hours.
00:28:01.060 That still works.
00:28:02.920 That part was not on the ballot last night and nobody took it away from you.
00:28:08.280 Third thing, and this one is the one that is going to matter in a month.
00:28:15.000 On election night, while every camera in this country was pointed at a map,
00:28:20.760 the United States struck Iran? That's right. Question Island. That happened yesterday in the 0.96
00:28:31.340 Strait of Hormuz. Then it happened again this morning. Now I'm going to say the rest of this
00:28:37.760 carefully because I am telling you what was reported and I'm not telling you one more thing
00:28:42.500 than that. Every single report on this traces back to the United States officials who are not named.
00:28:49.480 The Pentagon has not put out a statement.
00:28:52.360 Central Command has not put out a statement.
00:28:55.320 So I am not going to tell you it was a hit.
00:28:58.920 I am not going to tell you who was in it.
00:29:01.400 I am not going to tell you what it cost anybody because nobody has told me and I'm not in the
00:29:06.920 business of filling in a blank and handing it to you like it's some kind of fact because
00:29:11.020 it's not.
00:29:12.920 Here is what I have.
00:29:15.220 A place and two dates.
00:29:17.380 Two dates.
00:29:17.860 it was election night and this morning. The Vice President of the United States stood up today and
00:29:25.040 he said the reason we lost was the war. And the war kept going while he was saying it.
00:29:33.580 I do not have a conclusion for you on that one. Not even close. I do have a fact and a date and
00:29:41.400 I'm handing them to you because in about three weeks somebody is going to tell you this started
00:29:47.380 suddenly and you are going to know that it did not. One more and this one is small and I'm telling
00:29:55.400 it to you anyway because of the way everybody else is telling it. Yesterday afternoon just before
00:30:02.340 three o'clock at a polling place in Laconia, New Hampshire, a 70 year old man walked up to a table
00:30:10.700 that was set up outside the door a turning point action table get out the vote you had pamphlets
00:30:18.540 you had buttons a young man is standing behind it doing a job and he hit him backhanded him across
00:30:27.600 the face there is actually a video of this horrible incident the mayor of that city put it up himself
00:30:37.540 and called it disgusting. Police picked the man up this morning just before eight on a warrant.
00:30:45.060 His name is Stephen Reddick. He is charged with simple assault and with disorderly conduct.
00:30:51.280 He is arraigned on the 10th of December. Now here is the part I want you to have and it is the part
00:30:58.720 getting left out of every version of this that is going around today. He talked. He did not get a
00:31:06.520 lawyer in front of him and he did not say the video was doctored and he did not say that he
00:31:12.420 was the real victim here. He said what he did was inexcusable and he apologized.
00:31:21.300 I'm not going to take that away from him.
00:31:25.600 He is charged. He is not convicted. He answers for it in a courtroom in December like anybody
00:31:32.600 else does. And I'm going to say the obvious part out loud because somebody has to. And that is
00:31:41.100 that a 70-year-old man got so wound up about an election that he had to put his hand in a young
00:31:50.500 man's face at a polling place. That is where we are. And that is what yesterday did to people.
00:31:58.220 i told you at the top of this hour that people are hurting today i mean that is not a figure
00:32:04.480 of speech and it is not a thing that is only happening on one side of this i'm hurt you're
00:32:11.760 hurt i heard that a lot of the moderators were in tears last night and i'm so sorry about that
00:32:18.040 people that work on this show that have served our country are just feeling broken at the moment
00:32:27.300 We're all feeling that right now.
00:32:32.660 We're together.
00:32:34.180 We still are strong.
00:32:36.280 We will get through this.
00:32:38.380 We got through Biden, did we not?
00:32:40.640 And we prevailed.
00:32:42.300 I have faith in each and every single one of you because you love this country as much
00:32:48.540 as I do.
00:32:49.380 And I know what you'd risk for it.
00:32:51.300 all right so let me tell you about who actually won last night because almost nobody on our side
00:32:59.620 spent one minute on that today it was almost like we wanted just to cover all of it up and just
00:33:06.400 pretend that it never even happened and I get it I totally totally get it so let me introduce you
00:33:14.260 to the next United States Senator
00:33:16.560 from the state of Michigan.
00:33:19.640 Yeah, you know who I'm talking about, right?
00:33:23.320 His name is Abdul El Saeed.
00:33:27.100 He beat Mike Rogers
00:33:28.680 and he did not win that seat
00:33:31.980 by running to the middle
00:33:33.020 and he did not win it quietly.
00:33:34.900 He ran as far to the left
00:33:36.420 as a person can run in that state
00:33:38.500 and he won anyway.
00:33:40.540 Which should tell you something
00:33:41.940 about what the state of Michigan
00:33:43.700 was in the mood for last night and it is not a thing I enjoy telling you now he gave a victory
00:33:51.460 speech and I want you to hear what is in it because this is the part that tells you what
00:33:56.520 the next two years sound like he did not thank his volunteers and go to bed he went straight
00:34:04.760 at the vice president of the United States by name from the podium on night one and I'm going
00:34:12.040 to read you what he said word for word, because this one does not need any help from me.
00:34:20.140 J.D. Habibi, there is this delicious irony in the fact that you are constitutionally
00:34:28.280 obligated to swear me in January.
00:34:32.000 Behind Our Nation's Defense is a powerful network of Canadian communities,
00:34:36.280 supported by Lockheed Martin Canada. It's a network of over 1,300 employees

00:34:42.820 from small family businesses to major tech firms.

00:34:57.040 Learn more at LockheedMartin.com slash Canada.
00:35:03.840 Wolverine won, Buckeye nothing.
00:35:07.260 and then he turned to the president of the United States right I mean this guy was just like huh
00:35:18.320 and he said Donald look I know you struggle you struggle with my name so after JD swears me in
00:35:27.040 in January you can just go on and call me senator now I want to be careful here and I am
00:35:35.980 going to be very clear with you about what I am objecting to, because it matters to me that you
00:35:42.500 hear the difference. I do not have one word to say about that man's faith. Not one. He is going
00:35:52.220 to be the first Muslim United States senator, and that is an absolute fact. And a fact is not an
00:36:00.900 argument and anybody who wants to make it one is not going to get help from me. What I have a
00:36:08.060 problem with is the podium. Because here is what a victory speech is supposed to be. You just asked
00:36:16.600 several million people to trust you with six years. The first thing out of your mouth is supposed to
00:36:23.460 be about them. His first move was to taunt, and it was aimed at two men in Washington.
00:36:33.120 Not a plan, not a promise, not a word about a single person in Michigan who is going to pay
00:36:39.520 a utility bill this winter. A taunt. And I am telling you about it on a day when you are already
00:36:48.000 low for one specific reason, that this is a man who thinks he is on offense. And you need to know
00:36:57.260 that going into the next 55 days because somebody who thinks he is on offense is somebody who moves
00:37:04.080 fast and who does not ask permission. Do not let anyone tell you the next two years are going to
00:37:15.560 be quiet. Now let me do the other half of this honestly because I promised you accuracy and
00:37:23.640 not comfort and this is where the two look the same and they are not. Six seats changed hands.
00:37:32.940 I said that at the top and I meant it but not one of those seats is the same seat and anybody who
00:37:39.320 tells you that they are has not looked. One of them is Maine. Susan Collins. She's out.
00:37:50.540 A Democrat named Troy Jackson took that seat by about 47,000 votes.
00:37:59.380 And I'm going to be straight with you about her the way I have been straight with you about her.
00:38:04.060 That is a Republican seat that went to a Democrat. And I would rather have the seat
00:38:08.540 than not have it. That is just true. But I'm not going to stand up here and perform a grief I do
00:38:14.460 not have because I have none for Susan Collins, not a single bit. Because the question with that
00:38:21.140 seat was never which party the letter after the name said. It was how the vote landed when it
00:38:26.680 actually mattered. And for years, when the big ones came up, it did not land with us.
00:38:33.400 so when I read you those states at the top of the hour I read Maine out loud with the rest of them
00:38:41.280 and I did not soften it and when I tell you that not one of my people called me today crying about
00:38:49.500 Maine that is also true and you can hold both I didn't hear a word about Maine nothing about
00:38:57.700 Maine today. That is not a silver lining because a silver lining is me telling you the night was
00:39:04.200 fine. The night was not fine. I am telling you something different, which is that the arithmetic
00:39:11.820 of the Senate and the arithmetic of what gets voted are two different arithmetics. And we have
00:39:20.120 been losing the second one in some of these seats for a long time while we were winning the first
00:39:26.920 one. And there is one more piece of Senate arithmetic, and this one happened about two
00:39:33.780 hours ago. Chuck Schumer stood in front of a microphone today, and a reporter asked him a
00:39:41.060 straight question. Do you support getting rid of the filibuster? Now, I want to be careful with
00:39:48.880 you because there is a post going around right this second that says he announced it. He did
00:39:54.620 not announce anything. And I'm not going to tell you that he did. He did something else.
00:40:01.500 He did not say no. He said, the first thing we will do is reduce costs and work the legislative
00:40:09.140 process. And then he walked away from the microphone. And here's why I'm spending your
00:40:15.340 time on a man dodging a question. Because he has already done it once. January of 2022,
00:40:24.320 he was the majority leader and he did not hint about the filibuster and he did not float the
00:40:31.280 filibuster. He took it to the floor of the United States Senate and he made every single one of them
00:40:38.660 stand up and vote on it. It failed 52 to 48. Two Democrats crossed the aisle and killed it,
00:40:50.800 Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema. You remember that.
00:40:57.440 Neither one of those two people are still in the Senate. They're not in there anymore.
00:41:02.360 so when the man who already pulled that trigger once gets asked if he's going to pull it again
00:41:09.640 and he looks down and he starts talking about grocery prices and walks off that is not a man
00:41:16.260 who has not thought about it and while he was walking away from that microphone our side was
00:41:22.340 having a different kind of morning mike johnson is out now i want to be precise with you because
00:41:30.400 this one is getting passed around wrong already. He is not out of Congress. He keeps his seat.
00:41:37.120 He is still the congressman from Louisiana. What he announced today is that he will not
00:41:43.380 lead House Republicans in the next Congress. The Speaker of the House looked at Tuesday night and
00:41:50.160 stepped away from the top job. Steve Scalise and Jim Jordan were both already running for it by
00:41:58.200 this afternoon. Now, hold on to that one, because right next to this one is the uglier version,
00:42:11.440 if there is one. John Thune is running again. Same night, same losses. The Senate went the
00:42:20.880 same direction the House did, and the man who was running the Senate let it be known this morning
00:42:25.680 that he intends to lead Republicans again in January.
00:42:30.720 One of them looked at Tuesday and said,
00:42:32.940 I'm not the one to carry this.
00:42:35.600 The other one looked at the exact same Tuesday and said,
00:42:39.660 I will take another term.
00:42:42.640 And he is not hearing it only from us.
00:42:46.160 Nancy Mace, a sitting Republican member of Congress,
00:42:49.320 put the losses on him by name before lunch, as did so many of you.
00:42:58.300 Now, I am not going to stand here and pretend I am neutral about that one, because I am not.
00:43:05.600 And before I get to the thing that I actually can't stop thinking about today,
00:43:10.260 there is one more, and I want you to hear it from me first, because you are going to see it
00:43:16.540 somewhere else tonight and it is going to scare you really is I mean this whole thing has scared
00:43:22.260 me it just I have just oh my gosh it's like PTSD from when they stole the election I know you all
00:43:29.000 feel the same I'm not gonna harp on that I'm just saying this is how if you don't feel like you're
00:43:34.720 alone you're not we're all feeling it today and just sitting there last night not getting an inch
00:43:40.880 of sleep. And watching these numbers pour in was just awful. It was worse than a horror movie.
00:43:49.220 Well, Robert Garcia is going to chair the House Oversight Committee.
00:43:55.000 That is not a rumor and it is not somebody's guess on the internet that came out of his own
00:43:59.660 office in writing today. And his office did not say he is going to go look at what your groceries
00:44:06.460 cost. It said that he has vowed to take on, and I am reading you their words, not mine,
00:44:14.180 the Trump crime family, corporate corruption, DHS, and ICE abuses, and the cover-up of the Epstein
00:44:23.740 files. That is their statement. That is what his own people put out in their own words the day
00:44:30.860 after they won. And the night before that, the Oversight Democrats sent out a press release that
00:44:38.440 was two words long. Lawyer up. That was the entire press release. Two words.
00:44:49.760 Jamie Raskin is in line to run the House Judiciary Committee.
00:44:54.020 Sheldon Whitehouse is in line to run the Senate Judiciary Committee.
00:44:57.880 and the thing that comes with those scaffolds, the thing they did not have on Monday and will
00:45:04.420 have in January, is the subpoena. Now I want you to notice something with me. Not one of them ran
00:45:14.260 on this. Not one of them stood in front of a crowd in October and said, send me to Washington and I
00:45:21.420 will give you two years of hearings. They ran on what your groceries cost. And the first thing
00:45:29.600 out of their mouths before counting was even finished was a target list. Which brings me to
00:45:35.940 the thing that I actually can't stop thinking about today. The other side sent a man who woke
00:45:42.660 up this morning on a fence. Our side spent this morning holding three separate press
00:45:51.680 availabilities about whose fault it was. One of those two groups is going to get more done in
00:45:59.420 January. So hold on to that last line for 60 seconds because the thing that pays for this
00:46:08.480 hour is something that I need to do. And I'm going to show you what one of those two groups
00:46:15.900 was doing yesterday while nobody in this country was looking at them. But if you want to know what's
00:46:21.940 going on in the market, a lot of people are pointing to those nasty old polls again. I hope
00:46:26.760 you don't see one for a while. Maybe this is a bad time. In fact, here you go with polymarket.com
00:46:34.460 breaking odds of White House Chief of Staff Suzy Wiles leaving the Trump administration before
00:46:40.080 2027 has surged, according to Bali Market, to their highest level yet. There is a 55% chance.
00:46:48.640 If you want to bet on some of that stuff, you want to follow the live odds, you can go look at this
00:46:53.960 stuff. Who will leave Trump administration before 2027? You've got a whole list of names down here
00:47:00.740 if you want to watch some of the action.
00:47:03.320 So if you really want to know what's going to happen
00:47:05.680 in politics, sports, the economy, wherever,
00:47:08.360 Polymarket's the place where people are putting real money
00:47:10.960 behind their predictions
00:47:11.900 instead of just yelling about it on TV or social media.
00:47:15.620 And now there's a dedicated app for U.S. users.
00:47:19.080 You can download it today.
00:47:20.520 You can sign up with the code Litterbox,
00:47:23.200 L-I-T-T-E-R-B-O-X.
00:47:25.980 If you deposit $10,
00:47:27.920 Polymarket will give you an extra $20 to get started.
00:47:30.740 that's the code litter box the link is in the description you can go see what the market
00:47:37.220 really thinks litter box is the code now what moved yesterday well while the vice president
00:47:49.880 was explaining the war and the president was explaining the strikes and the governor of
00:47:56.020 Florida was explaining the calendar. While every camera in Washington was pointed at three
00:48:02.040 Republicans disagreeing with each other, the Department of Justice sent out letters,
00:48:08.320 20 of them, criminal target letters to 20 Democrats over the decoy Dan Sullivan business
00:48:16.320 we walked through yesterday. And one of the names on them is Mark Elias. Now I have to stop and be
00:48:25.000 careful with you and I want you to notice that I'm doing it on purpose because this is the single
00:48:29.260 easiest story in America to get wrong today. A target letter is not an indictment. It is not a
00:48:38.680 charge. It is not an arrest. It is not a conviction and it is nowhere close to one. A target letter is
00:48:48.580 a piece of paper from a prosecutor that tells a person in writing that you are the target
00:48:53.620 of a grand jury investigation.
00:48:56.480 That is it.
00:48:57.240 That's the whole thing.
00:48:58.860 So I'm not going to sit here and tell you that anybody is guilty of anything.
00:49:02.900 And if you hear somebody today telling you that 20 Democrats are going to prison,
00:49:07.260 that person is selling you something and you should hang up.
00:49:11.200 I'm not going to pretend a target letter is nothing because it is not nothing either.
00:49:17.560 And here's why.
00:49:19.540 A prosecutor does not send one of those by accident.
00:49:23.380 They are not form letters.
00:49:24.940 You do not get on that list because somebody does not like you.
00:49:28.860 A lawyer at a Department of Justice, at a component, they sat down.
00:49:35.700 They looked at what a grand jury had in front of it, decided that a specific human being was a target rather than a witness,
00:49:45.180 and then put that in writing and mailed it with their own name under it.
00:49:51.660 Twenty times.
00:49:52.880 Times. And of all of the names, the one I want to talk to you about is the lawyer, Mark Elias.
00:50:04.180 Because if you have followed election law in this country for the last 10 years,
00:50:08.740 you already know exactly who he is. He is not a staffer and he is not a volunteer.
00:50:14.680 He is one of the most powerful election lawyers the Democrat Party has ever had.
00:50:21.420 And he has been in the middle of the biggest fights of the last decade.
00:50:29.340 When a name like that goes from lawyer to target, something underneath it has changed.
00:50:35.860 Now, I want to come back to the timing because the timing is the whole reason that I'm telling you this today instead of some other day.
00:50:42.120 That paper went out yesterday. Election Day. The single loudest news day of the entire year.
00:50:52.100 The one day where every camera, every anchor, every panel, and every feed in the country is
00:50:59.140 pointed somewhere else. And I do not know whether that was deliberate, and I am not going to guess
00:51:06.140 said it out loud. Maybe a grand jury's calendar just landed there. Maybe a prosecutor had a
00:51:13.200 deadline. But I know the effect. And the effect is that 20 criminal target letters went out in
00:51:21.420 this country yesterday. And you had to come in here to find out about it. So let me put the two
00:51:29.600 halves of today next to each other because this is a thing that I want you to walk out
00:51:34.560 withholding. So half one, our side lost six Senate seats and spent the first 24 hours arguing about
00:51:46.580 whose fault that was. Half two, the machinery of the Justice Department, which does not care what
00:51:54.140 happened on television last night, kept moving on schedule that was set months ago. One of those
00:52:02.260 two things is going to matter in six months. It is not the one that was on your screen.
00:52:10.800 An election day is a day. A grand jury is a calendar. And I want to say one more thing about
00:52:21.680 that because I do not want you taking the wrong lesson out of this room. I'm not telling you this
00:52:28.360 to cheer you up. This is not your consolation prize. And I'm not handing you an indictment
00:52:33.880 to hold because the Senate went the wrong way. No, I'm telling you this because it is true.
00:52:40.860 And because it is the thing that happened. And because if you only knew about part of what was
00:52:48.480 on that screen, you would walk around today thinking, oh, the only thing that moved in
00:52:52.960 America yesterday was a seat count. A lot moved yesterday. Most of it did not have a camera on it.
00:53:04.940 All right, so I have about five minutes left with you and I want to use them carefully.
00:53:11.320 I am not going to end this hour by telling you it is going to be fine. I'm not going to do that
00:53:17.720 because I do not hand out things I cannot deliver.
00:53:22.000 And I am not going to end by telling you that to get mad either.
00:53:26.740 I'm not going to do it because you have been mad since about 11 o'clock last night
00:53:31.140 and it hasn't fixed anything yet.
00:53:33.680 I'm not going to tell you how to feel.
00:53:35.960 But what I am going to give you instead is a calendar
00:53:38.900 because I have noticed something about myself over the years
00:53:42.800 and maybe it's true of you too.
00:53:45.140 when I do not know when I feel worse than when it was bad news. I feel way worse than the bad
00:53:54.600 news itself. Bad news with a date on it I can carry. Bad news with no date on it just sits on me.
00:54:03.860 So here are your dates. Three of them. You can write them down if you're the kind of person who
00:54:09.340 writes things down. The first one is Monday and I'm going to pull it on the screen for you so that
00:54:16.060 you can have an easy go of it. This Congress, the one that is sitting right now, the one that was
00:54:24.500 elected two years ago, comes back to work on Monday. Not the new one, this one. Which means
00:54:33.160 for the next several weeks, the people voting on things in Washington are the exact same people who
00:54:39.740 were voting on things last week. Nothing about last night changed who holds the gavel today.
00:54:47.520 The second date is January 3rd. That is when the new Congress is seated. That is the day the results
00:54:55.260 of last night actually become law in the building. And from Monday to January 3rd is 55 days.
00:55:05.140 55. I want you to hold that number for a second because it is not a small one and nobody is
00:55:12.420 telling you about it. 55 days is not a lame duck shuffling to the exit. 55 days is two
00:55:21.540 months of Congress that already has the votes it has with nothing left to be afraid of and nothing
00:55:28.680 left to run for. More gets done in a room like that than in a room full of people worried about
00:55:37.360 a primary. And the third date is the one I actually care about and it is not on anybody's calendar
00:55:45.220 but yours. It is the next time somebody asks you to do something small. Sign the thing. Show up at
00:55:55.180 the meeting. Make the call to the office. Drive the neighbor. Fill out the form. Because I was
00:56:04.920 honest with you about Texas earlier, and I'm going to be honest with you about this. The number out
00:56:11.180 of Texas was not magic. Somebody went and got it door by door, phone by phone, ride by ride
00:56:21.360 over about 18 months while everybody else was arguing on the internet about who was a real
00:56:28.760 conservative. That is not a mystery. That is just work. And work is the only thing in this business
00:56:37.980 that nobody can take away from you
00:56:39.760 because nobody can do it for you either.
00:56:43.000 Now, I want to give you the thing
00:56:44.280 that I have been holding until the end
00:56:46.540 because I think some of you need it
00:56:48.300 more than you need another date.
00:56:51.100 There was something that was not on the ballot last night.
00:56:57.640 The President of the United States,
00:57:00.880 he was not on the ballot last night
00:57:03.680 And he made sure that everybody heard him say that.
00:57:10.640 Not his name, not his office, not one member of his cabinet, not one of his appointments, not the Supreme Court, not one single piece of the executive branch of government of the United States was in front of a voter anywhere in this country yesterday.
00:57:29.380 He is in that chair until January, 2029.
00:57:34.380 And I watched him work today on a morning when the people who spend every day yelling at him
00:57:41.200 were having the best morning they have had in two years.
00:57:45.760 He went out and he did the job the same way he has done it every day since he walked back in there.
00:57:52.920 so if you got up this morning feeling like all of it got taken away from you I want you to actually
00:58:00.860 count what got taken some seats in some states for two years not the White House not the court
00:58:11.360 not the cabinet not the agenda and I want to give you one more thing because this is the part that
00:58:18.000 nobody is going to tell you today. The party that holds the White House loses the midterms.
00:58:26.280 Not sometimes. Nearly every single time for 150 years, both parties over and over and over.
00:58:35.920 Barack Hussein Obama, he lost 63 seats in the House in 2010. 63 of them. The worst beating
00:58:47.300 either party had taken since 1938. Two years later, he was re-elected president of the United States.
00:58:58.740 Bill Clinton lost 54 in 94 and handed the Republicans the House for the first time in 40
00:59:06.640 years. Two years later, he was re-elected president of the United States. And you want to talk about
00:59:14.660 a second term. Well, Obama's second term, midterm, 2014, he did not just lose seats. He lost the
00:59:26.060 Senate. Nine seats gone in one night. It was the biggest Senate swing either party had taken since
00:59:33.740 1980. Joe Biden lost the House in 2022. So here's what I'm telling you. There is not one example in
00:59:45.700 the history of this country of a midterm night predicting the next presidential election.
00:59:51.040 Not one. It has never done it. Not for them and not for us. So that is what I've got. I mean,
00:59:58.820 Monday, January 3rd, and the next small thing somebody asked you to do.
01:00:06.440 I know it was heavy. I know some of you came in here flat, and I know a few of you are going to
01:00:13.400 bed early tonight, and that is allowed, of course. But I want you to hear me on one thing before you
01:00:19.460 go. Nothing that happened last night made you wrong. It just made it longer. You have been
01:00:28.120 here with me for 11 and 1129 of these shows now and there have been better days and there have
01:00:37.060 been worst ones too and the one thing the only one thing that I have ever been able to promise you
01:00:44.600 is that when it goes badly I will tell you when it went badly so I'm going to say it plain
01:00:51.980 Last night went badly.
01:00:55.440 And now I'm going to say the other thing just as plain.
01:00:59.540 Because it is just as true and because you are not going to hear it anywhere else today.
01:01:05.480 You are not behind where you were two years ago.
01:01:09.080 You are not behind where you were four years ago.
01:01:13.040 There is a president sitting in that office right now that you spent a decade being told you were never going to get.
01:01:21.060 and he is still in it and he is still working and he is still going to be in it long after the people
01:01:32.960 celebrating this morning have gone back to being exactly as miserable as they were on Monday.
01:01:41.800 They got a Tuesday. You have got 26 months. So go to bed early tonight. If that's not
01:01:51.040 That's what you need.
01:01:52.300 Go hug something that loves you and then get up tomorrow because I'm going to be right
01:01:58.580 here, right here with you.
01:02:01.740 I will see you tomorrow.
01:02:04.200 You have been in the litter box with Jules. 0.51
01:02:06.940 Go on, get out of here.
01:02:09.360 In the meantime, you all be safe.
01:02:12.680 Be kind to one another.
01:02:14.260 We will fight another day and I will see you tomorrow at 3 o'clock p.m.
01:02:18.760 Eastern time.
01:02:19.900 Bye.
01:02:21.040 We'll be right back.
01:02:51.040 We'll be right back.
