00:01:10.280 Alberta flag in the back of it got a Canadian flag they're a lot smaller

00:01:14.660 though I wonder if they're going to the legislature the Canadian flag was upside

00:01:21.000 down

00:01:28.020 you

00:01:29.400 Thank you.

00:01:59.400 Hey, how you doing?

00:02:03.000 Thank you.

00:02:03.740 Thank you.

00:02:17.280 Love you, John.

00:02:23.020 Thank you.

00:02:23.980 Thank you.

00:02:29.400 Thank you.

00:02:59.380 I have a YouTube channel, John Bolton AB.

00:03:04.180 People call me John, but most people say, you're the guy with the big blue mug.

00:03:10.760 I always have my big blue mug when I'm up at two o'clock in the morning.

00:03:14.100 It's wonderful.

00:03:14.900 I'm here because the same reason as you.

00:03:17.560 I've spoken to a lot of the people on the stage here today.

00:03:21.040 I'm honored to be standing here today.

00:03:23.320 A guy from Ontario 15 years ago, standing here, part of the Alberta independence movement,

00:03:27.560 is just remarkable for me.

00:03:30.940 It really is.

00:03:35.940 I think there might be some people talking a little bit about politics today.

00:03:42.700 Here's some laughs from the right of me here.

00:03:44.840 Earlier this week, Mark Carney stood up and said that we all have to sacrifice, folks.

00:03:55.540 Do you think you've sacrificed enough?

00:03:59.100 I really think that Alberta has sacrificed enough, folks.

00:04:05.680 And it's time for us to move on.

00:04:08.300 I think we need to bring everybody together here.

00:04:11.200 So why don't we do it all together and yell it as loud as possible?

00:04:14.920 Because we want this.

00:04:16.440 Get your cameras going, folks.

00:04:18.400 We want this to go viral.

00:04:19.920 So, are you ready, guys?

00:04:23.560 One, two, three.

00:04:26.120 I am Alberta!

00:04:28.920 Again!

00:04:29.940 I am Alberta!

00:04:32.540 Again!

00:04:33.260 I am Alberta!

00:04:36.140 One more time.

00:04:37.260 I am Alberta!

00:04:40.400 Whoa, what a fantastic crowd.

00:04:43.000 There are thousands of our fellow Albertans here today.

00:04:50.140 Thank you for being at the largest ever rally for Alberta's sovereignty in Alberta's history.

00:04:58.980 The federation that we exist under is functioning exactly the way it was intended to function,

00:05:06.960 with federal domination and control of Alberta.

00:05:14.880 But the good news, ladies and gentlemen, is that we have the leverage.

00:05:23.800 We have the power.

00:05:26.220 We have the ability to empower our provincial government

00:05:31.140 to be able to, for the first time in history, negotiate a new sovereign Alberta from a position of strength.

00:05:39.900 And that position of strength comes from a successful referendum on Alberta sovereignty.

00:05:48.980 Imagine an Alberta where the wealth we generate stays here.

00:05:56.480 Where income tax is eliminated.

00:06:01.140 Where our constitution protects property rights, freedom and family.

00:06:11.560 And where a direct democracy returns the power truly back to the people.

00:06:20.980 That's not a dream.

00:06:22.860 That's Alberta sovereignty.

00:06:24.620 That's the harvest of freedom we've been planting for over 120 years.

00:06:29.700 And I know the thought of forming a new nation is intimidating.

00:06:33.820 It's scary.

00:06:34.580 I feel that.

00:06:35.540 We've never done this before.

00:06:37.640 But here's the truth.

00:06:39.040 Much of the world is looking to Alberta to succeed.

00:06:42.220 To be the light of freedom and prosperity that our world needs.

00:06:48.700 And we can be that.

00:06:53.180 There is a path out of this and my heart is filled with so much hope.

00:06:58.920 But I just have to do this.

00:07:00.420 I hope you don't mind.

00:07:01.600 But I really want to get a picture of all of you with me.

00:07:11.460 Everybody smile.

00:07:12.680 Our youth can't afford homes.

00:07:27.400 They can't find jobs.

00:07:29.240 The middle class can't afford groceries.

00:07:31.300 They have to decide whether they're going to turn on their lights

00:07:33.440 or put food in the fridge for their families.

00:07:36.340 Our seniors are living in tents.

00:07:38.140 Our veterans are being ignored.

00:07:45.260 That is not the Alberta I move to.

00:07:49.920 I'm told constantly on my channel,

00:07:52.200 Fringe, there is no way you can vote your way out of this mess.

00:07:56.200 I beg to differ.

00:08:00.880 Alberta, you've been handed a golden ticket.

00:08:02.940 You've been given a golden opportunity.

00:08:04.360 You've said for years your vote has no weight in the federal elections.

00:08:10.260 Our Senate is unrepresented.

00:08:13.000 Our votes just put bums in chairs 1.00

00:08:14.800 while Toronto, Southern Ontario, and Montreal decide who runs our country.

00:08:19.780 But this vote, ladies and gentlemen,

00:08:22.020 this vote gives you more weight and more power

00:08:25.560 than you've ever had in your life.

00:08:27.920 If you are a true Albertan, you owe it to your children,

00:08:38.560 grandchildren, your future great-grandchildren

00:08:41.240 to vote for prosperity,

00:08:43.540 to ensure that there is a land left here for them,

00:08:47.120 that they can afford homes,

00:08:48.560 they can have families,

00:08:49.680 they can build memories,

00:08:51.380 and they can be prosperous and free.

00:08:53.100 Ladies and gentlemen,

00:08:57.020 my fellow Albertans,

00:08:59.280 proud sons and daughters of this great land

00:09:02.400 that we call home,

00:09:04.980 thank you for coming here today.

00:09:11.500 Look around you.

00:09:14.100 Look at all these flags.

00:09:17.180 Look at your neighbours.

00:09:19.100 Look at the resolve in everyone's face.

00:09:21.560 We all understand

00:09:24.280 the gravity of the moment that's before us,

00:09:28.520 the seriousness of the path ahead,

00:09:32.580 the darkness if we don't make the right choices.

00:09:39.980 What you see here around you today

00:09:43.420 is the rise of Alberta.

00:09:46.640 So before us

00:09:51.460 is the opportunity

00:09:53.320 to fight for our kids,

00:09:56.360 to work towards getting the votes

00:09:58.820 we're going to need in this referendum.

00:10:01.240 To me, that is the most critical thing.

00:10:03.960 Now, I know many of you are concerned

00:10:05.840 about this court case that's going on,

00:10:08.320 or maybe Fabio Lukasik's

00:10:11.180 nothing burger petition.

00:10:13.360 Don't worry about it.

00:10:14.740 Even if he gets his numbers,

00:10:16.800 nothing happens.

00:10:18.000 As the judge said

00:10:19.260 in the court of King's Bench matter,

00:10:22.080 it's a nothing burger.

00:10:26.900 We do have some challenges,

00:10:29.240 and I'm working with Jeff Rath and Eva Chipiuk.

00:10:31.520 You're doing a phenomenal job

00:10:32.960 in fighting that in the court

00:10:34.280 so that we can get this question

00:10:38.000 through the petition process.

00:10:41.180 But I'm confident

00:10:42.120 that no matter what happens

00:10:44.120 in that process,

00:10:46.060 and this is critically important,

00:10:48.340 that next year,

00:10:50.340 whether it's in the spring

00:10:51.440 or the fall,

00:10:52.700 there will be a province-wide referendum.

00:10:55.320 To build the future that we want,

00:11:01.960 it's going to take sacrifices

00:11:03.540 from all of us.

00:11:04.660 A good friend of mine,

00:11:06.080 he once told me,

00:11:07.240 you know what, Chris?

00:11:08.440 You complain about the things

00:11:09.760 the government are doing.

00:11:10.560 They're going to keep doing that

00:11:11.480 all the time.

00:11:12.100 They're not going to stop.

00:11:13.020 They do it because they can,

00:11:14.320 because it benefits them,

00:11:15.500 and because we let them.

00:11:16.900 But you know what changes that?

00:11:18.700 You know how we solve that?

00:11:20.160 You bring enough people.

00:11:21.100 If you bring enough people,

00:11:23.460 it ends.

00:11:25.340 If you bring enough people,

00:11:27.020 you can change the world.

00:11:29.500 And now,

00:11:30.760 there's a lot of people here today,

00:11:37.660 but it's not enough.

00:11:39.260 We need more people,

00:11:41.020 which means that each

00:11:42.320 and every one of you,

00:11:43.600 you need to ask yourself,

00:11:45.880 are you willing

00:11:46.920 to make the sacrifices necessary,

00:11:49.560 specifically with your time

00:11:51.360 to make this happen?

00:11:53.120 Are you willing

00:11:54.160 to actually go

00:11:55.320 and have the difficult conversations

00:11:57.100 with those who may scoff at you

00:11:59.460 so that you can make these changes?

00:12:02.380 Are you willing to give up

00:12:03.640 your Friday night

00:12:04.640 or your Saturday night,

00:12:06.100 like most of these people

00:12:07.240 have been doing

00:12:07.780 for the last three, four years,

00:12:10.160 to make this happen?

00:12:12.240 And if you're willing

00:12:14.140 to answer yes,

00:12:15.440 which I'm sure most of you are,

00:12:17.040 then you need to walk the walk.

00:12:18.400 When you leave here,

00:12:20.020 you need to start

00:12:20.600 doing these things.

00:12:21.940 You need to educate yourselves

00:12:23.420 on what the situation we're in

00:12:25.960 and what the solution looks like.

00:12:27.840 You need to know the details

00:12:29.400 so that when you have

00:12:30.620 these conversations,

00:12:31.620 you're an effective ambassador

00:12:33.300 for independence.

00:12:34.900 Every one of you

00:12:35.940 is an ambassador

00:12:37.240 for Alberta independence.

00:12:39.040 Did you know that?

00:12:39.860 Yes!

00:12:40.380 This event started two weeks ago,

00:12:45.680 two and a half weeks ago,

00:12:47.060 when I was speaking

00:12:48.000 with the premier.

00:12:50.640 And I kind of made it known

00:12:53.100 that I wasn't very happy

00:12:54.420 with the attention

00:12:55.740 that the UCP is giving to us.

00:12:59.320 So I thought,

00:13:00.680 let's call a rally

00:13:01.940 on October 25th

00:13:03.820 so they can actually see

00:13:05.580 that we exist.

00:13:10.680 And here we are.

00:13:12.880 Kearney's got the elbows up thing going.

00:13:16.860 You know what?

00:13:17.820 It's kind of a hockey thing, right?

00:13:19.360 I'm a hockey player.

00:13:20.920 I'm going to tell you

00:13:21.600 a little thing about hockey players.

00:13:24.020 There's a challenge that goes on.

00:13:25.960 I don't know if you're aware of it,

00:13:27.500 but I'm aware of it.

00:13:29.600 Sometimes guys will sidle up to you

00:13:31.600 and say,

00:13:32.480 come on, let's go. 0.98

00:13:35.200 Do you want to go?

00:13:37.420 So at that moment,

00:13:39.360 you either do or you don't.

00:13:42.480 And if you don't,

00:13:44.240 that guy probably owns you 0.53

00:13:46.260 and you're a little intimidated.

00:13:48.500 And then once you get intimidated,

00:13:49.920 it stops everything from working.

00:13:52.320 So here's what I'm going to ask you.

00:13:54.200 Let's change that up

00:13:55.560 because the answer to,

00:13:57.580 come on, let's go,

00:13:59.780 is let's go.

00:14:02.200 Right?

00:14:04.700 So I'm going to ask you as a group,

00:14:08.540 you know, there's a double meaning there.

00:14:11.340 Come on, let's go. 0.98

00:14:15.920 So that's going to be

00:14:17.120 the battle cry for our movement.

00:14:19.000 How about that?

00:14:20.920 So I'm going to ask you a question

00:14:24.840 and then you can tell me

00:14:25.840 if you want to go or not.

00:14:26.860 Is the federal government

00:14:27.780 stealing from us?

00:14:29.180 Are they sabotaging our industry?

00:14:33.860 Are they taking us down the path to communism?

00:14:37.240 Are they censoring us?

00:14:40.300 Are they stealing our guns from us?

00:14:43.620 Come on, let's go. 0.98

00:14:46.480 Thank you very much.

00:14:47.760 Hello, Alberta! 0.68

00:14:50.760 I want to tell every one of you

00:14:56.000 that's here today,

00:14:57.140 I have never been so proud

00:14:59.520 to be an Albertan.

00:15:03.720 I look out across that sea

00:15:05.780 of blue flags

00:15:06.940 and I see that today,

00:15:09.000 going forward,

00:15:10.260 should be known,

00:15:11.100 October 25th,

00:15:11.760 is Alberta Independence Day!

00:15:20.080 The future is ours.

00:15:22.760 Now, Chris Scott was talking earlier

00:15:24.760 about things that are available

00:15:26.200 on the Alberta Prosperity website.

00:15:29.280 I'd like everybody

00:15:30.080 that hasn't done it already,

00:15:31.860 when they go home tonight,

00:15:33.160 I'd like you all

00:15:34.520 to download a copy

00:15:36.060 of a document

00:15:36.800 on that website

00:15:37.920 called

00:15:38.580 The Value of Freedom.

00:15:42.280 That document,

00:15:43.380 I heard one of our hecklers

00:15:44.380 out in the audience

00:15:45.080 screaming,

00:15:45.520 where's the budget?

00:15:46.960 Well, that's the budget, people.

00:15:48.620 We send $70 billion a year

00:15:51.420 to Ottawa

00:15:51.980 in tax revenue,

00:15:54.500 in GST,

00:15:58.040 capital gains tax,

00:16:00.340 carbon tax,

00:16:01.440 industrial carbon tax, 0.99

00:16:03.260 all of the bullshit taxes 0.99

00:16:05.060 that Ottawa levies on us 1.00

00:16:06.960 to take our wealth

00:16:08.760 to fund social services

00:16:10.500 in Quebec and the Maritimes.

00:16:14.920 And it's time for this to stop.

00:16:18.620 Something else I want people

00:16:20.020 to reflect on,

00:16:21.200 I think some of you may know

00:16:22.840 that Mitch and Dennis and I

00:16:25.320 have been traveling to the U.S.

00:16:27.220 and meeting with the Trump administration

00:16:29.540 at a very senior level.

00:16:33.720 And we need to tell each

00:16:35.420 and every one of you

00:16:36.600 that there is ample support,

00:16:39.320 if not enthusiastic support,

00:16:41.520 for this project.

00:16:44.360 There is ample support,

00:16:46.580 enthusiastic support,

00:16:48.020 for Alberta becoming

00:16:49.640 an independent country.

00:16:54.100 I want to thank all of you

00:16:55.740 for coming out today.

00:16:57.360 Again, I can't tell you

00:16:58.840 how proud I am today

00:17:00.440 to be an Albertan,

00:17:02.040 to see all of you here

00:17:03.440 standing for independence,

00:17:05.820 standing up for your families,

00:17:07.620 standing up for the future

00:17:08.880 of your children

00:17:09.800 and your grandchildren,

00:17:11.720 and a prosperous future

00:17:13.060 for this province.

00:17:13.980 Thank you all so much

00:17:15.680 for coming out.

00:17:16.740 God bless all of you.

00:17:18.200 God bless.

00:17:23.320 And we're going to do

00:17:24.240 another one of these.

00:17:25.520 Let's do another.

00:17:26.540 We've got to do another,

00:17:27.540 and we'll bring out

00:17:28.140 five times as many people.

00:17:32.400 It's been an honor

00:17:33.440 to be here today.

00:17:35.200 Be safe.

00:17:36.080 And I can hardly wait

00:17:39.060 to vote for independence.

00:17:40.700 Thank you.

00:17:41.440 My wife, Sheila,

00:17:58.840 and I just leaving
