The lack of self-awareness in the media and the Democratic Party is to blame for the loss of the last election, but there are a lot of reasons why they lost, and it's time for the media to take a hard look at it.

00:00:00.920 Hey there, it's John just sitting down in my basement enjoying a cup of coffee and watching more fallout from the U.S. election.
00:00:10.220 It's Monday morning now, about six days since Americans voted overwhelmingly for Donald Trump and the Republicans.
00:00:17.080 And the thing that's really coming clear to me is the ridiculousness and the lack of introspection when it comes to the media and the Democrat Party,
00:00:26.860 all looking for excuses as to why Kamala Harris lost the last election. 0.84
00:00:32.120 Of course, the Democrats are running back to their regular tropes, calling people who disagree with them racist and misogynist and whatnot.
00:00:40.620 It's just the way they are.
00:00:41.940 I mean, hell, that's pretty tame compared to calling people Nazis is what they did before the election.
00:00:48.080 You know, when you call half the people in the country Nazis, you're really not doing a lot to encourage them to vote for your party.
00:00:55.640 But there's a lot of reasons why they lost.
00:00:58.560 Kamala Harris, first of all, was just an awful candidate. 1.00
00:01:01.800 And doing a soft coup against Joe Biden probably wasn't the best thing.
00:01:05.980 The thing I'm really interested in is the, I call it news media, but the media arm of the Democratic Party.
00:01:14.960 As I watch these pundits and people who are supposed to be experts on elections and election campaigns blaming Elon Musk for having a right-wing propaganda machine with X.
00:01:29.380 No, I don't believe X is a right-wing propaganda machine.
00:01:33.020 It was a left-wing propaganda machine prior to the last election when it was owned by Jack Dorsey.
00:01:39.080 They throttled right-wing people for misinformation and disinformation.
00:01:44.680 And I can bring up one thing in particular.
00:01:46.680 It was a huge story that a lot of people on the left didn't even know about because if you'd mentioned it on X or Facebook, you would get banned.
00:01:55.280 And that was the Hunter Biden laptop story.
00:01:57.960 An absolutely true story that was labeled misinformation and disinformation.
00:02:02.400 And I think it had an effect on the last election.
00:02:07.140 So, no, it's not a right-wing propaganda machine.
00:02:10.200 You know, I was in media for 35 years.
00:02:13.340 And I did a radio program where I spoke to a lot of people here in Canada.
00:02:19.220 I spoke to Stephen Harper when he was prime minister.
00:02:21.960 Dalton McGinty was the premier of Ontario, a liberal.
00:02:25.380 Of course, Stephen Harper was a conservative.
00:02:27.380 Elizabeth May, leader of the Green Party here.
00:02:30.360 Jack Layton, he's passed away, but he was the leader of the socialist NDP here in Canada.
00:02:36.320 And I actually spoke to Justin Trudeau as well prior to him becoming a prime minister of Canada.
00:02:42.660 But words like integrity and neutrality and objectivity were very important to me, particularly the credibility thing.
00:02:51.500 In the town I lived, people knew I was a conservative.
00:02:55.220 But I knew better than to throw softballs at a conservative like Stephen Harper and then give all the tough questions to the people I actually disagreed with ideologically, like Jack Layton.
00:03:06.080 I treated them with respect, but I treated them equally because credibility was very important.
00:03:11.420 That is gone in news media these days.
00:03:13.740 Here in Canada, we don't have any credibility whatsoever anymore because a lot of the media is being paid by the government.
00:03:19.860 I don't know if you're watching this from the United States.
00:03:22.040 I find that fascinating and I find it quite distasteful.
00:03:25.240 But the news media has to do some, to look inside and realize that they're becoming irrelevant.
00:03:32.900 They're blaming also people like Joe Rogan because he's got a podcast.
00:03:37.520 Hell, I watch people on YouTube that have more viewers than CNN does.
00:03:43.080 And they sit in their kitchen with a camera and people will say, well, they're not journalists.
00:03:48.160 Well, let me put it to you this way.
00:03:49.840 I did go to school to be in radio, but I don't have any special information or special talents when it comes to politics.
00:03:58.460 I'm like pretty much everybody else, as are the people you watch on MSNBC or CNN.
00:04:03.960 These people are just regular people who got a job talking about the news.
00:04:08.380 And now they've become, well, a wing of the Democrat Party for the most part in the United States.
00:04:14.660 Look at what the left has.
00:04:16.360 They've got the news media.
00:04:17.620 They've got academia.
00:04:18.860 They've got most of the other social networks in the United States right now.
00:04:22.940 They've got unions. 0.75
00:04:24.100 It's all left wing.
00:04:26.320 Allowing people to speak on X like Elon Musk has done was one of the greatest things that's ever happened.
00:04:33.020 And it was a huge part of Donald Trump getting his message out, just like the left were able to use that platform to get their message out.
00:04:41.980 Anyway, that's what I'm seeing right now.
00:04:45.260 There needs to be, there's a total lack of self-awareness when it comes to the media.
00:04:49.780 And it's, if it wasn't so tragic, it would be funny.
00:04:53.920 Thanks for watching.
