Summary

Last night I went to an event in Airdrie with the Alberta Prosperity Project. It was a great night and I was lucky enough to get to shake hands with so many people and talk to so many great people. I really think that Alberta could be one of the richest countries in the world if we left Canada and become independent.

00:00:00.100 Hi, it's John and welcome to the channel 611 a.m. Friday, July the 4th. Happy Independence Day to all our good friends in the United States of America today.
00:00:10.560 I've got my big blue mug of coffee. I hope you're having an awesome day. And I am feeling great today.
00:00:16.080 I'm wearing a t-shirt I got last night. My wife bought this for me.
00:00:20.700 Alberta Prosperity Project, because last night I got a chance to go out to Airdrie.
00:00:24.700 And for those of you not from Alberta, Airdrie just north of Calgary. And they had an event last night.
00:00:30.420 And I feel so positive this morning after going to that event, talking about Alberta independence.
00:00:36.600 It was just terrific. The speakers were great. Jeff Rath was there.
00:00:40.700 His video that went up yesterday morning on my channel has got, I think, 11,000 views.
00:00:44.660 I'll put a link in the description. Please watch it.
00:00:46.860 Mitch Sylvester, the CEO of the Alberta Prosperity Project, spoke last night.
00:00:51.020 I spoke to him on this channel. Link in the description. Please watch that as well.
00:00:56.260 And Dr. Dennis Moldry was there. I haven't spoken to the doctor, cardiac surgeon, but I want to because he was impressive last night as well.
00:01:03.640 And I mentioned it to them when I got to ask a question, which I'm going to show you in just a moment because my wife was nice enough to record me when I got in line to ask some questions last night.
00:01:14.300 But a well-oiled machine and these men are out doing this on their own time.
00:01:20.080 Mitch Sylvester said it was his 28th event and there are a lot more coming up.
00:01:23.840 Some of them on the screen right now, which I'm scrolling here.
00:01:26.460 Go to the APP website and you can go to an event.
00:01:29.920 I would suggest you do that.
00:01:31.280 Now, it was hard to find a place to sit because so many people came up to say hi to me last night because they watched me here on this channel.
00:01:38.200 And I appreciate you so much.
00:01:39.760 I should have brought the big blue mug along.
00:01:41.360 A lot of people asked about that, but people are just so damn nice.
00:01:46.320 And it was so nice to shake so many hands last night.
00:01:49.200 I was sitting there with my wife.
00:01:50.360 I asked her to estimate how many people were at the event in Airdrie last night.
00:01:54.340 And she looked around and said 600.
00:01:56.100 Here's a video I took just as the event started last night.
00:02:00.940 And I thought, well, that might be a good estimate.
00:02:03.240 So what I'm going to do is I'm going to basically count.
00:02:05.920 There were 20 rows on my side of the auditorium, 15 people in each row.
00:02:09.820 If you do the math, multiply it by two.
00:02:11.940 There were 600 people there last night, which I think all three of the speakers brought up that there's not too many events or people, save maybe the premier of the province, that could draw 600 people out on a weeknight in Alberta.
00:02:27.760 This is a growing movement.
00:02:28.980 I feel so positive about what happened last night.
00:02:33.120 Now, the thing that I took out of this is that I didn't have a lot of time to record people, although I did talk to a few people.
00:02:39.640 I'll show you that in just a moment.
00:02:40.960 And the thing that I really took out of this, even after talking to Mitch Sylvester and talking to Jeff Rath just a couple of days ago on this channel, was the incredible amount of money that Alberta puts into Canada and how little we get back.
00:02:55.680 And that's the thing that has to be mentioned and has to be passed along to people who are sitting on the fence or who don't want independence in this province.
00:03:05.220 Alberta could be one of the richest countries in the world if we would just leave Canada, if not the richest.
00:03:11.320 I was lucky enough to go out on the day that this document was released.
00:03:17.760 Link in the description if you'd like to download a copy of this or if you'd like to buy one, money goes back into the APP so they can print more of these and get them into hands of Albertans so we can get our independence.
00:03:29.300 But Jeff Rath introduced this yesterday.
00:03:32.540 This is from the Freedom Calendar YouTube channel.
00:03:36.460 Well, just a short little bit with the mind-boggling amount of money Alberta contributes to Canada.
00:03:42.880 Into what we think is a truly outstanding document that presents an incredible picture for a free and independent Alberta and the fiscal prosperity that Albertans will enjoy the day that they declare independence from Canada and stop sending $70 billion a year in taxes, CPP, and UI.
00:04:04.900 To Ottawa, to have only a fraction of that money trickle back to us in so-called federal transfers.
00:04:13.580 This document's got a lot of numbers in it.
00:04:17.460 A staggering amount of money from Alberta to Canada and very little in return.
00:04:24.280 But it also goes into other things like policing.
00:04:27.900 It talks about the environment, Indigenous groups.
00:04:30.280 It talks about the Canada Pension Plan.
00:04:31.940 And I think it was Mitch Sylvester who mentioned last night that during the recent Olds-Didsbury by-election, people who were asked about independence said they were concerned about their Canada Pension Plan.
00:04:41.960 It was stated a number of times last night that Canada Pension Plan belongs to you.
00:04:47.020 It belongs to you.
00:04:48.780 You can live anywhere in the world and still collect your Canada Pension Plan.
00:04:52.420 So we need to make that very clear to people who are worried about that if Alberta becomes independent.
00:05:00.240 At the end of this event, which was like a well-oiled machine, it started at 7 and the last speaker ended just around 5 to 9 and they started to take questions.
00:05:09.160 And there was a queue there, a lineup, and I thought I'd go ask a question.
00:05:12.460 And while I was watching Jeff Rath yesterday talk about this, and while they were talking about this document last night, I started to chuckle sitting there with my wife because I started thinking about something that I thought was rather funny.
00:05:29.560 And I got up in line and I'm standing there thinking, am I wasting the time of these people asking this question?
00:05:35.720 And I thought, no, you know what?
00:05:38.020 This is a serious question as well.
00:05:40.780 And boy, did I get a serious answer from Jeff Rath.
00:05:44.200 So thanks to my wife for recording this.
00:05:46.520 She said she was a little unsteady with her hands, so please excuse that.
00:05:50.240 But I think the audio is pretty good on this.
00:05:52.440 Here's the question I asked of Dr. Dennis Modry, Mitch Sylvester, and Jeff Rath.
00:05:58.200 First of all, I'm really impressed by tonight, my first one, first time I've been out to one of these.
00:06:04.120 Great presentation.
00:06:05.720 Amazing.
00:06:06.860 I watched you earlier today, Jeff, making a presentation on value and freedom.
00:06:12.020 I watched it earlier today.
00:06:13.280 I was amazed at the money that's involved here.
00:06:16.120 Something funny came to mind.
00:06:17.720 While I was sitting here, I was thinking the same thing when we were talking about the money that is actually a serious question, but it might be rather funny.
00:06:23.800 At the beginning, when we vote for independence, and we have all of this prosperity, and our income taxes go down, and we find ourselves richer than we've ever been before,
00:06:34.980 how do we keep all the Easterners that held out of this promise to our government?
00:06:38.400 Well, I think, again, the answers in this document, the value of freedom, we put together what we call an immigration and deportation plan.
00:06:48.800 So, the first thing is, anybody that's here on an open work permit that was issued by Justin Trudeau or Mark Carney that is not gainfully employed will be immediately deporting.
00:07:02.140 Yeah, that's step one.
00:07:05.760 Second of all, what we're positing is we've gone back to the old 2005 Government of Canada points program for immigrants coming to Canada,
00:07:15.920 and we've developed our own points program for Canadians wanting to immigrate to Alberta.
00:07:20.840 So, first of all, we're giving a lot of points to people that are born in Canada because they have similar educations to us,
00:07:29.260 they're culturally, you know, maybe culturally compatible, etc.
00:07:31.960 People with trades, qualifications, useful university degrees, you know, English as a first language,
00:07:39.400 all of those things would get immigration points that would allow them, you know, access, you know, to Alberta.
00:07:45.940 And what we see is with a thriving, booming Alberta economy, with the lowest regulations and the lowest taxes in North America,
00:07:54.480 we don't see that there would ever be a need for any immigrants to come to Alberta from anywhere other than Canada.
00:08:02.000 So, you know, that's, you know, that's, you know, I think an answer, you know, an answer to your question.
00:08:07.560 The plan is a lot more nuanced than that, and it's more fully, you know, filled set out in the value of freedom document.
00:08:13.920 But I would urge everybody to read it, and I think it's a solid way forward.
00:08:18.300 So, as you can see, I got a chuckle from all three of the men up there, from Mitch and from Dr. Modery and from Jeff Rath.
00:08:25.100 And immediately after that, Jeff Rath's face went serious, and he says it's in here, and it's all in here.
00:08:32.140 And imagine, basically, merit-based immigration into our new country of Alberta,
00:08:36.860 instead of flooding the country with anybody from around the world, millions of people,
00:08:40.960 which drives up the prices of everything, makes housing scarce and too expensive for your children and grandchildren to afford a home.
00:08:48.300 That was brought up quite a few times last night.
00:08:50.840 Think of this as an investment in your grandchildren's future or your children's future,
00:08:56.380 and how much better things will be if Alberta becomes independent.
00:09:00.520 Now, I did not have a lot of time to get a camera in the face of a lot of people last night.
00:09:05.120 It was just one of those evenings.
00:09:07.080 And I've spoken to most of the people who were presenters last night.
00:09:12.320 So I wanted to talk to a few of the people.
00:09:14.320 Now, please excuse the audio here.
00:09:16.880 A little note to self, buy a microphone for my phone.
00:09:20.280 I've tried to boost the audio here as much as possible.
00:09:23.260 But I did get a chance to talk to a few people after the event as people were going out.
00:09:28.120 And there's kind of a theme to a few of these people,
00:09:32.180 but some great insight from people who want an independent Alberta.
00:09:35.940 Don't want to put you on the spot, but what surprises did you find out about here tonight?
00:09:40.240 All of the money issues.
00:09:42.360 Yeah.
00:09:42.800 We're, you know, there would be so good money.
00:09:46.020 Yeah.
00:09:47.000 The biggest thing I think that stood out for me is that the actual amount of money
00:09:51.160 that Alberta would prosper with if they didn't have all these taxes
00:09:56.240 and the transfer payments and all that stuff.
00:10:01.660 So it's, yeah, it's definitely an animal.
00:10:04.220 I actually get the feeling this is growing.
00:10:05.860 This is a growing movement in Alberta.
00:10:07.540 I believe it is a movement and I know that some people think there should be a leader
00:10:12.820 and maybe that would be good.
00:10:14.680 But actually, at the end of the day, a leader can be a reason for people not to vote for a movement.
00:10:20.920 And a movement is a collection of people who might have very diverse views.
00:10:25.960 Interesting you say that because I've said that on my channel a number of times.
00:10:29.400 I thought we needed a leader.
00:10:30.960 I spoke, when I spoke with Mitch Sylvester, I asked him about it.
00:10:33.580 He said, John, that's by design.
00:10:35.460 I talked to him again tonight and I think that is the right move.
00:10:38.540 And I agree with you 100%.
00:10:39.740 So he's changed my mind.
00:10:40.800 Absolutely, I have.
00:10:42.360 I have changed my mind.
00:10:43.800 I think that if people are open-minded and willing to listen to the gentlemen that are speaking here,
00:10:50.660 that once they understand the concept of it and the prosperity of people,
00:10:57.840 that we definitely won't be poor anymore.
00:11:00.860 We don't have to worry about our children or our grandchildren.
00:11:04.460 I think that's a big thing that's on people's minds right now is the thought of what are we going to do for our kids
00:11:13.480 and our next generations that come.
00:11:16.960 Yes, I do.
00:11:18.000 And one thing I would say is the one thing that has been not talked about is the vision of the future.
00:11:23.860 I see a vision of a future Alberta where Dubai is envious of us.
00:11:29.080 We don't have to desalinate water.
00:11:31.020 We have beef.
00:11:31.760 We have lumber.
00:11:32.560 We have everything that they import.
00:11:36.180 So I think people don't really understand the wealth that's been given away.
00:11:39.960 A trillion dollars for three million people.
00:11:42.580 Three million people gave away a trillion dollars.
00:11:45.180 That's not even interest adjusted.
00:11:46.780 Have you always been somebody who wanted an independent Alberta,
00:11:50.460 or were we a proud Canadian at one time?
00:11:52.900 I was a proud Canadian.
00:11:56.680 But I certainly haven't.
00:11:58.460 I think the government has been doing this over the past 10 years at least.
00:12:04.140 So if there were an independence vote tomorrow, you would vote?
00:12:07.420 Yes.
00:12:08.320 Thanks to those people once again for talking to me last night.
00:12:11.060 I hope to do another event where I can do more of that with a microphone.
00:12:15.300 Last night before the event, I got a chance to talk with Mitch Sylvester, the CEO of the Alberta Prosperity Project.
00:12:22.780 As you know, and I mentioned here, I spoke with him a few weeks ago.
00:12:26.260 During the interview with him on my channel, I asked him if there was a good chance we could win the vote.
00:12:30.180 And he said to me, I honestly think we really have a good chance to win this.
00:12:35.260 But he seemed apprehensive.
00:12:37.940 I asked him the same question last night, and he was very positive.
00:12:43.020 He said, John, I really think we have a good chance.
00:12:45.440 This is a growing movement.
00:12:46.940 It was stressed last night that the people in the audience need to pass along the information that they hear at these events.
00:12:52.880 And if every person that was there last night, 600, can convince one person to vote for independence, we have a good chance of winning this thing.
00:13:01.680 So it was a great night.
00:13:02.800 I hope to go to another event.
00:13:04.400 I suggest you go to the APP website, RSVP at one of these events, if it's in your neighborhood.
00:13:11.460 Some people came up to me last night and said, thank you for letting me know I have to RSVP.
00:13:16.000 Get this document as well.
00:13:17.880 I'd also like to thank Gary DeVries, who was there last night.
00:13:21.400 Gary sends me email regularly.
00:13:23.220 I first met him on the steps of the Alberta Legislature on May 3rd at, I think, the very first Alberta Independence Rally.
00:13:30.560 I was the emcee at that event.
00:13:32.540 And Gary sends me so much information.
00:13:34.400 I talked to him last night.
00:13:35.580 I thank him so much for all of his help.
00:13:38.160 I hope to be doing something else on my channel to help out the APP on a regular basis here.
00:13:45.080 And, again, thanks to Gary for his assistance.
00:13:47.580 It was nice meeting you last night once again.
00:13:49.760 And so nice to meet everybody who came up to me and shook my hand.
00:13:54.580 Thank you very much for watching.
00:13:56.140 I do appreciate it.
00:13:57.200 If you liked the video, please give it a thumbs up.
00:13:59.580 Subscribe to the channel.
00:14:00.580 Ring the bell for notifications.
00:14:02.180 Share this if you can.
00:14:03.580 I'll see you in the next one.
