00:00:00.000 Hi, it's John, and welcome to the channel, 457 AM, Tuesday, August the 5th, with the
00:00:09.900 Big Blue Mug of Coffee. I hope you're having a great start to your Tuesday, and I hope
00:00:13.540 you had a great long weekend, if you were lucky enough to have a three-day weekend.
00:00:17.960 Thank you so much for being here. If you're a subscriber to this channel, thanks so much.
00:00:21.940 If you're not, just click on subscribe. Thank you. Today, I'm feeling better about the
00:00:27.980 independence movement. And I have to tell you, if you'd asked me yesterday, I'd have
00:00:31.640 said, I'm feeling a little bit down about it. But something's happened in the last 24 hours
00:00:36.060 that has made me feeling better about it. Now, why have I been feeling down? I'll get to
00:00:40.900 that in a moment. The reason I'm feeling up is because of an unusual source. I never expected
00:00:45.640 this. Pierre Polyev. Pierre Polyev has got me feeling better about the independence movement
00:00:52.980 here in Alberta. Polyev is not in favor of independence in Alberta. He's running in Battle
00:00:58.900 River Crowfoot. He's out talking to people in his riding. He's in a big room. I think
00:01:04.760 it's a young lady asks him a question. He gives an answer. I'll play a little bit of it for
00:01:09.720 you to give you the gist of what his answer is in just a moment. And it's not the video
00:01:13.420 itself, but it's what's underneath the video that's got me feeling better about independence.
00:01:17.080 Blew my mind. And I mean literally under the video. Why was I feeling down? Because of stuff
00:01:23.700 like this. I see a lot of this online. Got to be careful. This can influence you. Seeing a lot
00:01:28.640 of this, this is about this ridiculous Thomas Lukasik petition they're signing right now to
00:01:33.160 have a referendum question on Alberta staying within Canada. I wonder if Mr. Lukasik has been
00:01:39.460 honest with the people who are signing this. I wonder if you ask these people, you know, if you say
00:01:44.460 yes to this question, Alberta is going to stay in Canada, right? Because this petition for a
00:01:50.280 referendum serves no purpose whatsoever. This will accomplish absolutely nothing other than feed
00:01:56.100 the ego and the narcissism of Thomas Lukasik and try to block the actual referendum question,
00:02:02.160 which is coming. We'll move on from that. Here is the reason why I'm feeling better about
00:02:08.280 independence. This video, she asks, why shouldn't the West separate? Let me play a little bit of it
00:02:16.560 and I'm going to tell you why I feel great about independence. And it's right below this video.
00:02:21.940 What would you say to someone like me who is a young family and seeing more hope in the idea
00:02:26.420 of a landlocked Western Canada than a never-ending liberal government? The liberal government owns the
00:02:32.500 media. They run the universities. They have no shame or integrity. It feels like the game is rigged
00:02:38.100 and that the East will always decide and face. Why should Alberta and Saskatchewan stay?
00:02:43.320 That's a fair question. A very fair question. I frankly understand the frustration that people
00:02:49.480 feel. The liberals in Ottawa have told the West to pay up and shut up. They've attacked Alberta and
00:02:58.520 Saskatchewan's biggest industries of agriculture, oil and gas, to name a few. And they have transferred
00:03:06.700 massive wealth out of this region. So all of those concerns are legitimate. The question is,
00:03:11.420 how do we deal with it? I believe the answer is in building alliances with like-minded Canadians
00:03:17.160 across the country. So for example, Albertans, Saskatchewan should lock arms with Newfoundland,
00:03:22.920 which wants to repeal C-69 so that it can double its oil production.
00:03:27.260 So Polyev says we need to form alliances. I don't think that plays with most Albertans. We don't trust
00:03:33.040 the East. We don't trust Ottawa. We don't trust Kearney. We don't trust the liberals. We don't trust the
00:03:39.540 voters who voted this government in again. We don't trust them. As an independent-minded Albertan,
00:03:44.540 I don't trust the East. That's why I want out. We'll do better without Canada. Now, Polyev should feel
00:03:51.420 quite pleased with this video. I mean, he's got 28,616 views 14 hours ago. But folks, he's only got
00:03:58.020 2.3 thousand thumbs-ups, likes on this video, which I think is rather concerning, and it should
00:04:05.300 be for Pierre Polyev. Now, don't get me wrong. I like Pierre Polyev. I want him to win in this
00:04:10.600 riding. I wanted him to be Prime Minister. I took it on the chin a week or so ago when I did a video
00:04:16.400 on that longest ballot. I lost a lot of subscribers, people who have probably never come back.
00:04:21.420 But Polyev should be concerned with the comments. You know, I sit in that room back there,
00:04:26.700 and there's a big TV on the wall, and I watched this video last night, and I went to the comments,
00:04:31.380 and I went, oh my God, because most of them are the same. 781 comments, only 2.3 thousand likes on
00:04:39.840 this. Everything Pierre has said could be accomplished without the federal government,
00:04:44.680 and with the federal government, they are a huge obstacle to get this done. I mean, you could just
00:04:48.780 go through here. If there's a vote on separation, it seems hard to imagine a reason to stay. No,
00:04:55.560 Alberta independence is the only way to go. No more federal taxes. No thanks, Canada is at its time,
00:05:01.120 Republic of Alberta. Sorry, Pierre, how do we do this teaming up? Western independence is the way.
00:05:06.260 There's nothing left for the West in Canada. The West needs to leave immediately. I mean,
00:05:11.260 you go through here, could have built the oil sands without the rest of Canada,
00:05:14.460 which he talks about in the video. Alberta absolutely should separate. I want BC to separate
00:05:19.900 too. I really do like Pierre, and I'll vote for him again in the next federal election,
00:05:25.040 but I put Alberta first. I'll be voting yes to protect my province. On and on and on and on.
00:05:34.320 Sorry, Pierre, time to go. I mean, this is almost everything. Now, there are some support here for
00:05:38.740 him. People like Pierre Polyev. I like Pierre Polyev, but folks, this really makes me feel good
00:05:45.380 about the independence movement. Now, there's a couple of things coming up that we need to watch.
00:05:49.840 There's this. This is the by-election day, and I think Polyev will run his seat on Monday,
00:05:54.660 August the 18th. There's this. Now, this is the sitting days for the House of Commons.
00:06:00.620 Let me look at all this time. This is all the time they've spent in government all year.
00:06:04.820 This is disgraceful. They should have been working through here, but this is when they come back on
00:06:09.800 the 15th of September. So, Polyev is going to be back in the House of Commons on the 15th of
00:06:13.920 September. I'm not sure when they have their first question period. That would be wonderful to watch
00:06:18.640 because Polyev, instead of, he will be representing a riding in a place, Alberta, that's all about oil
00:06:24.760 and gas, instead of representing a riding near Ottawa, that's all about sitting on your ass. And I'm
00:06:29.880 talking about public employees. So, this is another thing to watch. So, Polyev is actually going to be
00:06:34.360 representing Alberta here. The other big date that's coming up, folks, that could have a huge
00:06:39.280 bearing on what happens with the independence movement is coming up in September as well, shortly
00:06:44.180 after the government starts to sit again. I go back to this article on March the 20th. Smith meets
00:06:49.960 Carney demands oil policy changes and warns national unity at stake. And this right here is the timetable,
00:06:57.480 folks. Alberta Premier Daniel Smith said,
00:07:00.280 I provided a specific list of demands. We know what they are. The next Prime Minister,
00:07:05.040 regardless of who that is, must address within the first six months of their term to avoid an
00:07:11.260 unprecedented national unity crisis. September 20th, and I'm just using this as the date. It was
00:07:17.960 right around this time in March where she gave six months. Right around September 20th, about a week
00:07:23.760 after government returns in Ottawa, the six months will be up. It's going to be interesting to see
00:07:30.020 what happens and what Daniel Smith does. C5, the bill that's supposed to start up all these natural
00:07:37.040 resources and big projects in Canada, does not get rid of Bill C69, C48, emissions caps, all of those
00:07:45.640 things she asked for. It'll be interesting to see what happens because if Carney does nothing between now
00:07:50.960 and September 20th, and it's getting close, the independence movement could grow. We need to use
00:07:57.600 that to our advantage. But I'm feeling better about independence right now because so many people
00:08:02.760 went on that video with Pierre Polyev. It really is quite astounding. I'll put a link to his video.
00:08:07.680 You can watch the whole thing below, okay, in the comments. Tell me what you think. If you like the
00:08:13.240 video, please give me a thumbs up. Subscribe to the channel. Ring the bell for notifications. I'll see you in the next one.
