00:00:00.000 Hi, it's John and welcome to the channel Monday, March 30th, 419 a.m. I hope you're having a great
00:00:08.740 start to Monday. I hope you had a good weekend as well. I tip the big blue mug of coffee to you
00:00:13.800 today. I don't want to focus very much on the federal NDP. I think politically they're pretty
00:00:20.440 much irrelevant right now. They're fun to ridicule as I did yesterday. Many other channels did
00:00:26.460 yesterday, joking around of the lunacy of their overuse of pronouns, complaining about misgendering
00:00:32.720 and them waving around these colored equity cards and blatant racism, which I brought up in my video
00:00:39.080 yesterday. But I do want to focus in on the party itself and what their new leader believes in. Now
00:00:44.880 you saw them yesterday waving the Palestinian flag on the stage. Avi Lewis, by the way, is Jewish.
00:00:50.680 chickens for KFC, anybody. But who is Abby Lewis? What does he believe in? You may not have been
00:00:57.060 paying attention to the actual leadership campaign. I have been a little bit over time
00:01:01.700 and have talked about it on occasion. So what I want to do in this video is talk about what
00:01:06.060 Lewis and the NDP believe in, how some of these things are similar to what Carney is doing
00:01:11.980 right now, maybe not as far on the loony left, but getting damn close. I want to talk about a
00:01:17.220 couple of provincial NDP leaders who are trying to distance themselves from Abby Lewis, but deep
00:01:22.740 down inside, they believe what Abby Lewis believes. They just can't say it because it would be political
00:01:28.320 suicide for them. I also want to talk about something I think that the federal government
00:01:33.500 is going to do that Lewis believes in, and he spoke about less than a week ago, or just about
00:01:39.440 a week ago, and a prediction I made within the last couple of weeks on this channel. So let's
00:01:44.840 start off with Avi Lewis when it comes to groceries. This is a tweet I saved from a
00:01:51.160 couple of months ago. Avi Lewis here responding to the breach. With grocery giants ripping off
00:01:56.420 Canadians, it's time for a bold alternative. Public grocery stores. And this is what Lewis says.
00:02:01.480 This excellent video. Let me bring myself up on screen here. This excellent video builds out both
00:02:06.200 the case and the vision for public grocery stores. This idea is landing incredibly well with Canadians
00:02:11.760 who are tired of trading their paychecks for overpriced food
00:02:14.980 just so greedy corporations can line their pockets.
00:02:17.800 It's the kind of fresh, ambitious, and populous offer
00:02:20.600 the NDP can win with.
00:02:21.860 Let's fight for it together.
00:02:23.200 And this is basically the politics of envy here.
00:02:26.840 Lewis will tell people who aren't doing as well in life
00:02:29.300 that it's not your fault you're not doing well.
00:02:31.580 It's the fault of greedy corporations.
00:02:33.880 And people buy into this, and they vote for this.
00:02:36.400 Here's what Brian Lilly has to say about this
00:02:38.360 in an article from just yesterday.
00:02:40.300 Avi Lewis already sowing division within NDP
00:02:42.860 over radical left-wing policies.
00:02:45.680 Lily goes on to talk a lot about
00:02:47.260 many different things in here,
00:02:48.680 but let's hear what he has to say
00:02:49.980 about these grocery stores.
00:02:51.600 And folks, we may not be quite as far left
00:02:54.240 as what Avi Lewis wants,
00:02:55.380 but we're moving closer there all the time
00:02:57.060 with the federal liberals.
00:02:58.520 So to deal with the high cost of groceries,
00:03:00.680 he suggested a government-owned grocery store
00:03:02.980 using a high-volume warehouse-style model
00:03:05.640 with subsidized rent and utilities.
00:03:08.040 Essentially, he wants a Costco type of grocery store that is owned and run by the government,
00:03:12.780 and he is claiming he can bring down prices by 30% to 40%.
00:03:16.780 Now, here's the important paragraph.
00:03:18.580 That's impossible, given that the profit margin on groceries is 2% to 4%,
00:03:23.020 at best, and a government-run store would come with government wages,
00:03:26.960 which are generally about 25% higher on average compared to the private sector for similar jobs.
00:03:32.280 Now, we may not be doing this with government-run stores right now,
00:03:35.540 but the government is subsidizing groceries for you now. And there's this, Prime Minister Mark
00:03:39.780 Carney announces new measures to make groceries and other essentials more affordable for Canadians.
00:03:44.460 Is that what he's actually done? No, he's basically providing a subsidy because people
00:03:49.020 can't afford groceries anymore in this country. Now, over the last year or so, you may have seen
00:03:53.880 me pull out my liter of cream. And this is how I gauge grocery prices in this country. I think I
00:04:00.320 pulled this out about a year ago, saying that I was now buying it at Costco because I used to pay
00:04:05.500 a little under $2 for a liter of cream. And at Costco, I was paying $2.85 for it,
00:04:13.780 which is substantially higher. And I was paying $2.85 at Costco because it was now creeping over
00:04:18.840 $4 at Walmart. Well, this cream is now about $3.15 a liter at Costco. And that's happened within the
00:04:26.020 last year. It's gone up even more. Is he actually making groceries and essentials more affordable
00:04:31.540 for Canadians. No, he's subsidizing people because they can't afford food anymore. And we're also
00:04:37.300 doing this when it comes to kids at school. Feeding the Future today, Canada's National
00:04:41.580 School Food Program. We may not have grocery stores yet, folks, but we are now paying for
00:04:46.560 people's food. Now, when it comes to natural resources, Avi Lewis has a certain stance on
00:04:52.080 this, which is way over to the left. Pierre Polyev was asked about this not very long ago.
00:04:58.160 Avi Lewis today came out with a green plan Canada. Shut down all fossil fuel production, and all the jobs in that sector will go to something else. He also made a suggestion during the recent debate that...
00:05:11.160 Sounds like what Mark Carney was writing about in his book called Values. I think Mark Carney will like the idea. He wrote all about it, and he believed in it for a decade.
00:05:20.480 So Polyev's right. Mark Carney is very much in line with what Abby Lewis believes when it comes
00:05:26.600 to oil and gas. Keep most of it, if not all of it, in the ground. He's on record saying that.
00:05:32.440 He also wants net zero. Meanwhile, he signs useless memorandums of understanding with
00:05:37.980 provinces that I live in, suggesting possibly maybe we might have a pipeline in the future
00:05:43.840 if we can find some investment. Meanwhile, keeping laws in place that drive away investment. And then
00:05:50.180 we've got the leader of the NDP here in Alberta and had Nenshi, former Calgary mayor, desperately
00:05:55.200 trying to distance himself from the federal NDP and they're joined at the hip. We believe in Alberta
00:06:01.360 and we believe in Canadian energy and the good jobs it creates. We believe in more pipelines and
00:06:05.920 in reducing emissions. One province to the east from the Saskatchewan NDP to the newly elected
00:06:11.360 Abby Lewis, Carla Beck, the leader of the NDP in Saskatchewan. The positions you've taken when it
00:06:16.460 comes to natural resource developments are ideological and unrealistic, I will meet with
00:06:20.920 you when you publicly reverse your position on these issues. These people believe the same thing
00:06:25.060 Abby Lewis believes. Political suicide, if they said anything different. But there's something
00:06:29.700 coming that I believe the liberals are going to go full bore at, and Abby Lewis believes in this.
00:06:34.540 There's this article from just March 24th. NDP frontrunner proposes mass amnesties,
00:06:41.380 waves of new asylum seekers. You know, we've got too many temporary foreign workers in this
00:06:47.240 country. We've got too many students who are staying beyond their prescribed time. We've got
00:06:52.860 too many people seeking asylum here, and they're not in any danger at all. And Abby Lewis thinks
00:06:58.060 these people should be able to stay. He wants a mass amnesty. I said the federal liberals are
00:07:03.720 likely to do this, and this is what I said a week and a half ago. This is what the Kearney government
00:07:08.420 going to eventually do. They're going to tell you that they can't find these people. They don't know
00:07:12.460 where they are. It's easier to let them stay than to find them. And it'll be cheaper. So hundreds of
00:07:17.580 thousands, if not millions of people will get permanent residence here. You may say the liberals
00:07:21.940 will never do this. Lewis's idea of asylum for all these people is nuts. But shortly after the
00:07:27.720 liberals get a majority, they'll start floating out trial balloons using a lot of the reasons I just
00:07:32.620 gave in that short clip I showed you. Now, what would you do if a student has stayed here past
00:07:37.540 their time, they're here illegally now, and they need to leave. And if you've got temporary foreign
00:07:43.700 workers who are past the temporary, they're here illegally. They need to leave. And if you've got
00:07:49.020 asylum seekers claiming asylum because they're in danger in a country where there's no danger,
00:07:53.560 they've lied to the government. They need to leave. And right now, the government can't find
00:07:58.380 a lot of these people. They admit it. Now, you would say, we need to get some federal agents
00:08:04.040 to go out and find these people, and they need to be removed from the country, and they never
00:08:08.160 should darken the doors of Canada again. But the liberals, they've got an excuse for not doing
00:08:13.060 that. That's too much like Donald Trump, what he's doing in the States with ICE, which drives
00:08:18.920 the lefts crazy. And as Thomas Sowell said, in politics, never assume that because something is
00:08:25.940 insane, it will not be done. Now, the liberals may not be as far left as Lewis and the NDP on
00:08:31.620 some things. They're kind of Abby Lewis light, but I think they'll be full on with this idea
00:08:37.200 from Abby Lewis again, right after they get a majority. And it will come at great cost to you
00:08:42.240 and the country. To you, you're going to have to pay for this. It won't come at great cost to the
00:08:47.700 liberals because the elbows up people don't want to hunt these people down a la Donald Trump and
00:08:52.600 ICE in the United States. And there's that old saying from George Bernard Shaw, the politician
00:08:57.840 that robs Peter to pay Paul. We'll always have a friend in Paul. They're going to rob you so that
00:09:02.980 these people will get asylum and they'll vote for the liberals in perpetuity. Let me know what you
00:09:08.600 think. If you like the video, give it a thumbs up, subscribe to the channel, ring the bell for
00:09:12.000 notifications. I'll see you in the next one.
