Summary

What else is Justin Trudeau willing to do to try to save his sinking ship? What else will he do to get his party back on track in the polls? I predict a universal basic income, a student loan forgiveness, and more tax incentives for first-time home buyers.

00:00:00.000 Hi it's John welcome to the channel drinking a cup of coffee this morning
00:00:04.240 420 in the morning yeah 420 in the morning you might hear my washer going
00:00:08.760 right behind me here figured I'd get some stuff done early this morning and I
00:00:12.660 was thinking about this tax break that Trudeau rolled out earlier this week
00:00:17.280 cutting the GST giving people a $250 check those people who make under $150
00:00:24.120 thousand dollars a year you know bribing you with your own money remember that
00:00:27.600 this is not government money this is your money they take way too much from you
00:00:32.560 and now he's trying to give you a break but I have been surprised by a lot of
00:00:37.140 the articles and actually quite pleased by articles I've read on this many people
00:00:40.800 are just saying this is gonna blow a six to seven billion dollar hole in our
00:00:44.780 deficit a deficit that is way too big already and it's not really gonna do
00:00:49.980 much to help people somebody said that if they get this in place by December 15th
00:00:54.780 you'll save about five bucks on a Christmas tree if you're lucky and if
00:00:58.000 you wait that long to to get a Christmas tree and this is all about trying to get
00:01:04.200 Pierre Polyev the leader of the opposition here in Canada to react to it to
00:01:08.580 vote down a tax break for Canadians it's not about helping Canadians it's about
00:01:13.020 helping Justin Trudeau and his party get out of the dumpster fire that they are
00:01:17.520 right now in the polls that's all this is about but we are about 11 months away
00:01:23.280 from an election here in Canada we're expecting it October 2025 and my question
00:01:29.460 is this what else is Trudeau willing to do to try to save his sinking ship this
00:01:34.980 is a desperate man so I came up with a couple of things this morning there's
00:01:39.000 probably more and as they get closer to the election more will pop up and I'll
00:01:42.360 probably talk about them but one I predict he is going to promise a
00:01:47.280 universal basic income in Canada there have been politicians in Canada that
00:01:53.520 have floated this out for years actually spoke to Hugh Siegel who passed away a
00:01:57.420 couple of years ago he was a senator I spoke to him about this on the air a
00:02:00.880 number of years ago he was in favor of this I think it's basically money for
00:02:04.280 nothing and it doesn't incentivize working it incentivize sitting around to do
00:02:08.660 nothing but Trudeau is going to float this out probably within the election
00:02:13.800 range so it's about six weeks before the election he's going to throw this issue
00:02:17.820 out as a wedge issue to try to get Polyev to go against it he wants to make
00:02:23.180 Polyev react to what he's doing because Polyev wants this to be about the carbon
00:02:27.860 tax and Trudeau wants to get away from that the carbon tax is not very popular
00:02:32.520 here in Canada people want to see it go so he has to make this about something
00:02:36.780 else so he's going to float out a universal basic income just prior to the
00:02:41.180 election the other thing he's going to do is he's going to forgive student loans
00:02:44.960 or a portion of student loans in Canada they did this in the United States
00:02:48.860 against the Supreme Court's will Biden was giving students money and it was
00:02:54.500 taxpayers money once again so he's going to do this and I actually looked online
00:02:58.760 to see what the with the student loan debt is like in Canada the average
00:03:04.280 recent graduate of a bachelor's degree owes about thirty thousand dollars in has
00:03:09.120 about thirty thousand dollars in debt so he is going to do that another wedge
00:03:12.660 issue free money for young people who Trudeau desperately needs to vote for
00:03:17.340 him I also think he's going to give more tax incentives for first-time homebuyers
00:03:22.200 of course housing is a real issue in Canada United States Britain I think in
00:03:27.380 Australia as well all the countries where have allowed a lot of illegal
00:03:30.780 people to come into the country won't have any place to live and housing prices
00:03:34.320 are going through the roof and Pierre Polyev who is again the leader of the
00:03:37.680 opposition here has made this an issue even though Trudeau said about a year and
00:03:41.520 a half ago that housing is not a federal responsibility he's going to give
00:03:45.060 another tax incentive and make it make it another wedge issue for the upcoming
00:03:49.440 election he wants Polyev to go against this all right and again this is bribing
00:03:54.000 you with your own money returning your money to its rightful owner which is you
00:03:57.960 this is your money he's handing out and finally not a money issue but Trudeau is
00:04:03.780 going to make a major announcement about his personal life which won't surprise me
00:04:08.400 at all and it probably won't surprise his wife either
00:04:11.660 thanks for watching
