00:00:00.000 Hi, it's John and welcome to the channel. It is Saturday, October the 17th, 523 AM. I hope you're
00:00:09.880 having a fantastic Saturday. Coming up in just a moment, a great interview, not a long one,
00:00:15.320 but very informative interview with Bruce Pardee, Professor Bruce Pardee, Dennis Kelma from the
00:00:21.080 Alberta Transition Council, who does a lot of work on the independence movement behind the scenes,
00:00:25.680 And Matthew Rowley from Renew Alberta, and my good friend Jason Levine, who's one of the third-party advertisers.
00:00:32.500 One of the points they're going to talk about is the only way to save Canada is for Alberta to leave.
00:00:37.240 So that's coming up in just a moment.
00:00:39.240 As you're watching this, I am driving to Edmonton for this event right here.
00:00:44.200 And if you haven't decided on going to this, please decide right now.
00:00:47.760 You need to be at the legislature today, Saturday, October 17th at 3 o'clock.
00:00:52.560 with all of these great speakers. I will be the emcee there. We need a huge turnout there. So if
00:00:59.000 you're able, go to the legislature today. Now my interview with Jason Levine, Bruce Pardy,
00:01:05.420 Dennis Kelma, and Matthew Rowley. So here we are at Jason Levine's event. We're here with Bruce
00:01:11.520 Pardy, Dennis Kelma, Matthew Rowley, and of course, Jason Levine himself. Jason, having an event,
00:01:16.820 we're talking Constitution again tonight. Jason, you've been out doing a lot of these with these
00:01:21.520 three gentlemen over the last little while i do want to talk to them about the time we're in right
00:01:25.280 now which is second day of advanced voting so it's october 14th right now kind of want to start
00:01:30.820 with uh bruce and we'll kind of move our way around here i don't want this video to go on for
00:01:34.800 too long but bruce i've heard you say on occasion the only way to save canada is for alberta to
00:01:40.620 leave canada can you suggest uh talk about that a little bit and maybe others can can jump in on
00:01:45.140 this one as well yes sure so in my mind canada is broken it's become a bit of a train wreck it's
00:01:54.360 become unhinged and there is no real prospect of fundamentally reforming it inside the model
00:02:01.260 in which it exists and so if you have any idea about saving it any saving any idea of it alberta
00:02:10.140 has to leave it it sounds like a contradiction but to save the country you have to leave the
00:02:14.580 country and alberta doesn't have the responsibility to save canada but if it saves itself it might
00:02:22.500 inadvertently save the country okay i see a lot of nods here in fact everybody's nodding at the
00:02:27.540 same time we'll start with you matthew what do you think about saving canada with alberta leaving
00:02:32.720 well i think it's very true and you know i and a lot of other people really love canada
00:02:37.020 the old canada the real canada and we're not really big on this whole settler colonial woke
00:02:42.820 take a knee for everything kind of world that we've been thrust into since Pierre Trudeau.
00:02:47.600 So to do this is about preserving the values of Canada. It's not about rejecting anything of the
00:02:54.840 past. It's about saying we truly love it and we're going to do what it takes to save it. And that
00:03:00.180 means having to make a vote to leave. Okay, I'll ask you the same question, Dennis, but I want to
00:03:04.100 throw something else in. I follow you on X. I'm not on X a lot. I think it's a sewer. I stay away
00:03:08.300 as much as possible but you know we think we can save alberta because of of the money you've been
00:03:14.680 involved in the transition council you were involved with putting some numbers together
00:03:18.520 can we save alberta uh when it comes to um finances economically and are the people who
00:03:24.620 are fighting back against us all the time you're always responding to them they're always coming
00:03:28.780 after us for the economics what do you think about that well i would say consistently and
00:03:33.680 across the board, I wish they would read the documents because over and over again, one
00:03:39.440 person criticizing another, you frequently find they have cherry picked a paragraph,
00:03:45.600 picked one of the three documents to read, or even a small set of numbers and said, see,
00:03:50.600 see, it doesn't work. When they read it in its completeness and understand how the picture goes
00:03:55.540 together, I think they'll change their mind. And that's been the frustrating part. I don't mind
00:04:00.320 defending any of the numbers on their merits or what they're not good at. I just don't like having
00:04:04.980 to defend against partial views and partial discussions. Jason, I'm wondering, you're a
00:04:10.320 third-party advertiser. You're here tonight. You're a third-party advertiser through this
00:04:13.900 whole process. You were a third-party advertiser through the petition campaign as well. What are
00:04:18.800 your thoughts about how things are going right now? We're a few days away from the vote on
00:04:22.700 the actual voting day, which is the 19th. I think I can speak for a lot of third-party
00:04:26.660 advertisers retired retired and this is a marathon for sure this wasn't a sprint uh but we're very
00:04:32.420 optimistic we kind of see the goal line now it's on the 19th we're going to get some counting and
00:04:37.320 then we're going to be uh moving forward with whatever those results are and what i liked about
00:04:41.320 this question that you had for the gentleman here it's about canada and bruce saying it's broken
00:04:45.380 canada that i remember the one that i grew up with the one that i loved where i was very patriotic
00:04:50.600 i started for the flag cheered on the olympic team that canada is gone as bruce says but alberta is
00:04:56.040 the last piece of that the culture here our family values what we're fighting for the prosperity
00:05:01.600 trying to grow and build piece of that piece of canada is still alive here in alberta and i'd like
00:05:06.180 to see us go ahead and keep it and not lose it and let us look through our fingers and become
00:05:10.700 more like what the rest of canada is okay bruce i want to ask you a question you're out here quite
00:05:15.060 a bit i've seen you a number of times you're spending time with jason you're my place for uh
00:05:19.560 for thanksgiving we really enjoy having you over to the house uh but what are your thoughts right
00:05:24.860 now why do you keep coming out here why is this so important to you and ontarian i mean jason and
00:05:29.800 myself we're from ontario as well we're three i've only been out here a short time same with jason
00:05:33.680 why do you keep coming out here well because this is the place that has the chance right and people
00:05:39.660 ask me you know what what is the chance what do you think the chances are aren't they very small
00:05:44.440 and my response is well i'm from ontario i don't exactly know what the chances are but i do know
00:05:49.960 this i do know this the chances are not zero in alberta and that is a better chance than any other
00:05:56.580 plan i have heard for rescuing this country so you got to take the chance right dennis you're
00:06:02.860 retired why are you involved in this so much and you're heavily involved we don't see you at a lot
00:06:07.860 of events i know that you you like your private time you come out to special ones like this you've
00:06:11.960 got matthew bruce and of course jason's a good guy to come out to why are you spending so much
00:06:16.140 time behind the scenes working on you know documents and it's a lot of work. Well the main
00:06:20.840 reason is I can. A lot of the the work required is just painstakingly going through masses of data
00:06:28.760 and material and I've got a good background for analyzing that stuff. Most importantly I have the
00:06:34.480 time because I'm retired. This is my day job as it were. The other thing too is it's a worthwhile
00:06:39.900 endeavor. This is something that as Bruce aptly said it may be a small chance but it's the only
00:06:45.460 one we got because the trajectory we're on now if canada continues as it is in 10 or 15 years time
00:06:52.460 most of the things we have today will be taken from us they'll be reduced we'll be bankrupt we
00:06:58.380 we pour off and then it'll be very very hard to recover so this is sort of a now or never kind of
00:07:03.860 moment right i don't want to keep you much longer there's people coming into this event but matthew
00:07:07.900 you just got back from overseas you're um you've been involved for new alberta i remember talking
00:07:12.760 to you the very first time. You've got your face out there. You're working on this as well. What
00:07:17.780 do you think our chances are on Monday when all of the votes come in? I think it really depends on
00:07:22.720 Albertans. Go out and vote and vote your conscience. Vote with knowledge, vote with
00:07:28.620 understanding. And if you want it, you can achieve it. But it's going to take getting out there and
00:07:33.740 actually doing the vote. Don't waste your time on worrying about what people say, what people do.
00:07:39.020 get out there and when you're in the ballot little booth you're the only one that knows how you're
00:07:43.260 voting i'll go down the line here dennis our chances on monday i'm putting him on success
00:07:48.400 okay we had a conversation earlier today i think i'm north 50 good bruce i don't know but my hopes
00:07:56.100 exceed my expectations okay jason i i think there's going to be a four to five involved 45 55
00:08:01.900 but i'm not sure which side is going to get it okay you know it's funny i i put out a graphic
00:08:06.640 today with eight politicians all laying in bed together. I hear Ed Stelmack and Alison Redford
00:08:11.900 are in now. So I'm going to have to expand that. You know, I said six months ago that we have to
00:08:16.620 go out for the politicians. They're all going to be here in the last week. These people are all in
00:08:20.080 bed together. These people don't want the status quo. These people have been ruling over our lives
00:08:24.360 for years. And I think if you don't, if you want to send a message out, if you want to get some
00:08:28.740 payback with the politicians, that's the way I keep looking at it. But I'm feeling good about
00:08:32.760 Monday. Thank you very much for your time. I know we've got people coming in here in just a
00:08:36.500 moment to talk to you. I really appreciate what all of you are doing. Thank you.
00:08:39.800 Thanks, John.
00:08:41.360 I'd like to thank all those gentlemen for chatting with me. Now, I do have a message for you.
00:08:46.880 In particular, I want to point out young people. I really want to talk to you today. You know,
00:08:52.540 I went out on Tuesday to vote, and when I was out voting, I knew I would see a lot of retirees there.
00:08:58.940 They have the time off. It was right after the polls opened for the very first time in the
00:09:02.820 referendum. But I saw a lot of gray-haired people there, and I know the way a lot of these people
00:09:08.300 are going to vote. These people are not looking out for your best interests if you're a young 0.99
00:09:14.400 person. They've got it all. Their life was quite easy compared to yours. They found it easy to buy
00:09:20.460 a house, to find a job, to put money away, to retire, to afford food. And to be quite honest
00:09:26.560 with you, I think they're being rather selfish. So if you want a better future for yourself and for
00:09:31.680 Alberta, please go out and vote. Vote for option two in the referendum on Monday. Thank you very
00:09:38.420 much. If you like this video, please give it a thumbs up. Subscribe to the channel.
00:09:42.020 Ring the bell for notifications. I'll see you in the next one.
