Canadians need more than 367,000 people working for the federal government and they can't keep up with the demand? How is this possible? If you were a private company and this happened, you would be out of business. But the beast, the Federal Government, keeps getting fed by our tax dollars and this is the kind of service we get from our federal government.

00:00:00.060 Hi, it's John and welcome to the channel 7.32am. It is Thursday, August the 7th with the Big Blue
00:00:06.480 Mug of Coffee. I hope you're having a great day today. And I took my watch off so I could show
00:00:11.880 you the time. It's 7.32am and that's important. If I had any hair, I'd be pulling it out right now.
00:00:22.840 You remember during the election campaign, Pierre Pauly have said Canada is broken. There was a
00:00:27.900 hashtag on X. The Liberals used it against him. People who followed the Liberals said,
00:00:36.080 Canada is not broken. Canada is perfect. It's not. It's broken. Pauly was right. You heard
00:00:41.960 politicians talking about the fact that we have too many people working for the federal government.
00:00:45.980 I checked out chat GPT this morning. About 367,000 people work for the federal service here in Canada.
00:00:53.120 Canada. What do all these people do? And it's grown 42% since Trudeau got in.
00:01:00.320 You heard stories about passport offices being overrun and not being able to keep up with people
00:01:05.340 who need passports. People have to wait forever just to get a passport. And that's what I want to
00:01:08.960 talk to you about today. My wife and I have booked a trip. I don't like to travel. I don't like to fly.
00:01:16.000 We're going somewhere warm in January. Great. We need our passports renewed. They ran out in the fall.
00:01:24.240 So we found out you can do this online. We got our passport pictures taken the other night
00:01:28.520 and we have to register for an account with the federal government to get our passports renewed
00:01:33.820 online. My wife says to me last night, you have to do this at seven o'clock tomorrow morning. I said,
00:01:38.560 what are you talking about? Well, there's only a limited window for people to get their passports
00:01:43.200 online. I said, what? Why? She said, I don't know. You have to do this between seven o'clock
00:01:49.000 and starting at seven o'clock tomorrow morning. I said, well, I'm up. I'll do it. So she sent me
00:01:54.100 the link. So I go to the Government of Canada website. Let me go over to the screen here.
00:01:58.040 And I come across this screen right here and you go down here and it says register for an account.
00:02:02.740 When I clicked on that, I got this at seven o'clock this morning.
00:02:07.780 We've reached the maximum daily number of applications submitted through the IRCC portal new version.
00:02:12.860 And I went, but it's exactly seven o'clock, which is 34 minutes ago, folks, at this point.
00:02:20.280 And I went, oh, did she give me the wrong time? Oh, it's 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Eastern time,
00:02:27.180 which would be five o'clock my time. But this is very telling, folks.
00:02:33.660 In two hours, maybe a lot less, the Government of Canada could not give me a registration number
00:02:42.300 for me to get an online passport in less than two hours. How is this possible?
00:02:50.480 We have 367,000 people working for the federal government here and we can't operate a website
00:02:57.540 to take people's, to give people a registration number to do an online application.
00:03:02.960 How is this possible? If you were a private company and this happened, you would be out of business.
00:03:09.840 But the beast, the federal government, keeps getting fed by our tax dollars. And this is the
00:03:14.740 kind of substandard service that we get from our federal government. Why is this a thing?
00:03:20.900 Why can't I do this 24 hours a day, 365 days a year? Any other business or company or probably
00:03:29.640 government around the world would be able to handle this.
00:03:34.840 PSAC, the Public Service Alliance of Canada, says if you cut any employees' services, well,
00:03:40.680 it's going to harm our services. Well, no doubt, because you can't do your work right now when
00:03:45.200 you have 42% more people than you had just about 10 years ago. 367,000 people in the country and I
00:03:53.060 can't get an online registration number so I can file for my passport. This is ridiculous.
00:03:59.140 This is nuts. This is Canada is broken. 1.00
00:04:04.760 Again, thanks for watching.
