00:00:00.000 Let's all rejoice. Mark Carney and Canada have had a real bad week.
00:00:08.040 Hi, it's John and welcome to the channel. 501 a.m. Saturday, July the 11th. I hope you're having
00:00:13.540 a great Saturday and a great start to your weekend. We're expecting amazing weather here
00:00:19.420 in Calgary today. 31 degrees. I love hot weather. My wife hates it. I plan on going out for a long
00:00:26.080 bike ride this afternoon. I'm going to try to keep this video short because I've got lots to do.
00:00:29.820 this morning. I'm working on the Independence Telethon, which is a week from today. I'm nervous
00:00:34.400 but excited. It's coming together great with lots of special guests. We need to raise money to win
00:00:39.700 the referendum in October. Now, off the top of this, I'm not rooting against Canada. I'm not.
00:00:46.240 I have family and friends that live in Canada. I'm not rooting for the downfall of Canada,
00:00:51.540 but I'm just trying to point out here that you need to wake up a little bit if you live in
00:00:57.120 Canada, you know, I'm wide awake. I know what's going on here. How long can you continue to blame
00:01:03.520 all of Canada's problems on Donald Trump? Mark Carney is going on 18 months as prime minister,
00:01:11.220 and things just aren't getting better right now. In fact, remember when he said this.
00:01:17.620 Canadians will hold account by their experience at the grocery store. Canadians will hold account
00:01:22.400 by their experience at the grocery store. And you and I know that it's not a very good experience
00:01:27.320 going to a grocery store anymore. You buy a couple of things that cost a hundred bucks. It's getting
00:01:31.800 harder and harder to afford things. But Carney is the performative prime minister. He talks about
00:01:37.300 how things are getting better. He talks about the cost of living getting better. But as a famous
00:01:42.100 propaganda said, you tell a lie once, it's still a lie. You tell it a thousand times, it becomes the
00:01:47.840 truth. On pretty much every metric, things aren't getting better in the country. He signs worthless
00:01:53.080 memorandums of understanding here in Canada and outside the country. Spending through the roof,
00:01:59.160 deficits and debt are skyrocketing. He's got endless travel. He's hardly in the country.
00:02:04.440 I think he's out of the country right now. He has a lavish lifestyle at your expense.
00:02:09.600 Well, he has food subsidies for Canadians so they can afford to eat. He has school lunch programs
00:02:14.920 so that children can afford to eat, and he increased the GSD rebate so Canadians can afford
00:02:20.380 to eat. Then he walks out and he talks about the success of these things. You do not judge a
00:02:25.460 government and you do not judge a society by how many people get on food subsidies. You judge a
00:02:32.140 government and a society by how many people get off of those things. And then he talks about
00:02:37.240 building things at rates we've never done before and at speeds we've never done before, but there
00:02:42.300 hasn't been a shovel in the ground since he's been prime minister. He's all talk. He's big
00:02:48.260 speeches. He's little accomplishment. It's all a performance for Mark Carney. Now, you know,
00:02:53.380 I think it was about a week ago I did this story right here, the moment Danielle Smith realized
00:02:58.380 Canada was uninvestable. More on that in just a moment. And then there was this article earlier
00:03:02.740 this week, four in 10 Canadian manufacturers, a U.S. production move. And yeah, you can blame
00:03:09.500 some of that on Donald Trump, but it was Mark Carney's main reason for getting elected, that
00:03:14.740 he was going to solve this problem, and he hasn't done that. So let's get to the two stories today
00:03:19.020 quickly. I don't want to go on and on all day long. We've got this article right here in the
00:03:24.480 National Post, and this is just two stories, okay, from the National Post. There's more that show the
00:03:29.880 decline of Canada, but Carney has had the worst first year of growth since 1963. Okay, just a
00:03:37.280 little bit of the story. Canadians support Mark Carney's approach to managing the economy even
00:03:41.740 though he's presided over the worst first year of growth for a prime minister since at least
00:03:46.740 1963. An anonymous research group poll for Bloomberg News shows 60 percent of Canadians
00:03:52.760 think he's done a very good job of handling the economy. That compares with 24 percent who think
00:03:59.280 he's done a very poor job. The results are a robust endorsement of Carney's economic stewardship.
00:04:05.040 That's despite the fact that since he was elected, real gross domestic product has shrunk
00:04:09.980 by 0.05%, the worst debut for a Canadian prime minister in at least 63 years. And then there's
00:04:17.060 this. Now, what happens most of the time when people read a headline? They go to a national
00:04:22.840 post, they read the headline, Mark Carney's $70 billion UAE deal to nowhere. They read that
00:04:29.920 headline and they don't go any farther, but the real meat and potatoes of the story is below.
00:04:33.920 In fact, if you read the sub-headline there, the Middle East country was ready to invest, but there was nothing to invest in.
00:04:40.880 And as I said back earlier this week, the moment Danielle Smith realized Canada was uninvestable.
00:04:47.520 So let's read a little bit of this story, folks.
00:04:50.000 It's so tragic, it's almost laughable.
00:04:53.480 Given that the Liberals long ago ditched Stephen Harper's vision of transforming Canada into an energy superpower,
00:04:59.340 Prime Minister Mark Carney has resorted to going cap in hand to actual energy superpowers to get
00:05:05.900 some of their sweet, sweet oil money. And think about that. Canada could have lots of sweet,
00:05:12.120 sweet oil money, but Carney and the Liberals in Ottawa just get in the way. The only problem,
00:05:18.460 despite his promise to fast-track nation-building projects, Canada still doesn't have anything to
00:05:23.960 invest in. Isn't that sad? The visit follows a similar trip to the United Arab Emirates last
00:05:29.800 fall, where Carney said he secured $70 billion worth of investments. Remember that. Yet,
00:05:34.540 according to a report in the Financial Times this week, when UAE officials contacted the
00:05:39.560 major projects office, the MPO, which is here in Calgary, 26 kilometers from where I'm sitting
00:05:45.260 right now, which is responsible for fast-tracking infrastructure projects, they were told there was
00:05:51.180 nothing to invest in 18 months prime minister almost folks as all the projects are still mired
00:05:58.640 in bureaucratic red tape the very thing the mpo was created to cut through just a couple of more
00:06:04.040 paragraphs and then we'll get away from this dismal article right link in the description if
00:06:09.040 you want to read them none of this should come as a surprise for if there's one thing canada's good
00:06:14.040 at it's creating impediments to getting things built a decade ago companies such as kinder morgan
00:06:20.900 Enbridge and TC Energy were eager to invest tens of billions of dollars in pipelines running to
00:06:26.980 both coasts, but a lack of political will ended up pumping the brakes on all but Trans Mountain,
00:06:32.120 which had to be nationalized to get it across the finish line. Back to this over here,
00:06:37.040 the pipeline here is nationalized, folks. $43 billion of taxpayer money, your money to build
00:06:44.460 a pipeline. Now the federal and Alberta governments are seemingly aligned on the need for more
00:06:50.560 pipelines, but private sector buy-in has not been secured. Because no one believes the newfound
00:06:56.840 political will in Ottawa will be enough to overcome the Liberals' Byzantine approvals process,
00:07:02.420 along with opposition from provincial premiers, environmental groups, First Nations, and other
00:07:07.260 special interests which have been so successful at blocking major projects in the past. Canada's
00:07:13.940 uninvestable. Carney's number is still up even though his economy is an absolute disaster. And
00:07:19.340 here's the thing about the pipeline. I'd like you to think about this for a moment. Carney's not
00:07:23.760 very popular with his party right now because he says he's going to build pipelines when they don't
00:07:28.520 really want that. He's not very popular out east, particularly in Quebec. They don't like pipelines
00:07:34.940 for the reason you know about. It starts with C and the second word starts with C. Don't want to
00:07:40.600 say it, my video will get throttled on YouTube. But people out in Quebec don't want the pipeline.
00:07:46.360 But Mark Carney trotted one out last week to the West Coast with Danielle Smith.
00:07:51.040 And you know what's going to happen? This is going to fail. And eventually he can go back
00:07:55.200 east and say, see, there's not really going to be a pipeline. I only did this to stop the
00:08:00.680 independence movement. I saved Canada. That's going to be his excuse. Let me know what you
00:08:06.480 think about this video today. It hasn't been a good week for Mark Carney. And I think that's
00:08:11.820 a good thing in a way because maybe people will wake up and realize the disaster that is the
00:08:17.520 Liberal Party of Canada and Mark Carney. If you like the video, give it a thumbs up, subscribe
00:08:22.220 to the channel, ring the bell for notifications. I'll see you in the next one.
