00:00:00.000 Kearney sucks. 0.99
00:00:30.000 please click on subscribe i would appreciate it and a reminder that clicking on the big blue mug 0.96
00:00:35.360 does not subscribe you to the channel so i mentioned yesterday on a couple of videos that
00:00:41.680 it was the first full day of summer yesterday we're now into the first full week of summer
00:00:47.040 doesn't it feel good but you know what else it is it's the first full week without government
00:00:53.600 this year federal government isn't that great doesn't it feel good now don't get me wrong they
00:00:58.000 They can still do things to us, okay?
00:01:00.960 Like they passed a C-22, I think on Thursday, didn't they?
00:01:04.260 All the free speech laws are coming, folks,
00:01:06.400 but we don't have government sitting right now.
00:01:08.840 Politicians call it the rubber chicken circuit, sort of.
00:01:12.660 They go around, they do backyard barbecues 0.63
00:01:14.680 and eat a lot of crappy chicken,
00:01:16.420 but they can still do things to you,
00:01:18.240 but it feels good that government isn't sitting right now.
00:01:20.360 So what I thought I would do
00:01:21.520 is look back on the first parliamentary session
00:01:24.860 of Mark Carney and see how he did.
00:01:28.260 I think it was quite evident by the way this video started. 0.99
00:01:33.660 Carney sucks. 0.98
00:01:35.900 If you're here, you probably feel the same way as I do. 0.98
00:01:39.660 But how do we judge Mark Carney on how he's done in his first parliamentary session?
00:01:44.240 And I guess maybe going back to when he was elected on April 28th last year.
00:01:48.980 I call Mark Carney a performative prime minister.
00:01:53.460 And a lot of politicians are like this, but Carney's a master, right?
00:01:56.600 They make all these promises, but never follow through on these things.
00:02:00.420 The thing is with Carney, he's got the people who voted for him and the people who still
00:02:04.840 support him convinced he's accomplishing these things, but it's all a performance.
00:02:11.160 So I thought about listing the different things he promised, but I thought a better way to
00:02:15.420 go back and judge him is to listen to him prior to the election and find out what were
00:02:21.260 the main things he wanted to do, and we'll throw in a couple extra things off the end.
00:02:26.120 So, very short clip here, I do not want to torture you.
00:02:30.000 Less than 30 seconds, Mark Carney, prior to the election in 2025.
00:02:35.080 We will have to do things that we haven't imagined before at speeds we didn't think possible.
00:02:40.940 And that means building millions of homes, building Canada into an energy superpower,
00:02:46.220 building new trade corridors with reliable trading partners.
00:02:50.420 It means the government's spending less so Canada can invest more.
00:02:53.040 It means making big polluters pay instead of hardworking Canadians and creating one Canadian economy instead of 13.
00:03:00.980 Sorry about that, but it was less than 30 seconds long.
00:03:04.100 So let me ask you a question.
00:03:06.440 What word would you use to describe how quickly the Carney government is getting things done in the country right now?
00:03:13.720 Think of it for a second.
00:03:15.220 Because the word I came up with is glacial.
00:03:18.760 A glacier moves so slowly, you can't even see it happen.
00:03:24.740 But he started off that clip by saying,
00:03:26.940 we will have to do things that we haven't imagined
00:03:29.880 before at speeds we didn't think possible.
00:03:33.360 I never thought the government would move glacially, but it is.
00:03:37.160 We're really not getting things done quickly here at all.
00:03:39.500 He talks about building millions of homes.
00:03:41.200 Are we doing that?
00:03:42.280 This is part of the Kearney performance.
00:03:45.060 They'll continue to come out and say they're building houses,
00:03:47.340 but have they really built a lot of houses? And is it the government's job to build houses? I've
00:03:53.440 got a former prime minister on that in just a second, but is it the government's job to build
00:03:58.340 houses? And if we were building a lot of houses, don't you think Carney would be standing in front
00:04:03.420 of all the houses that his government is building? Look, we build all these houses. Here's an article
00:04:09.060 here from the Fraser Institute, Build Canada Homes Remains Clear as Mud Despite Carney
00:04:14.040 government claims. This is from May of this year. Build Canada Homes is the new bureaucracy that
00:04:19.760 Carney created to build houses. Is it the federal government's responsibility to build houses?
00:04:28.380 I'll be blunt as well. Housing isn't a primary federal responsibility.
00:04:34.100 Sorry about that. But he's right. I don't think it's the government's job to build houses. Leave 1.00
00:04:39.760 that to the private sector. I mean, Pierre Polyev during the election campaign, what he wanted to
00:04:44.900 do was get rid of the red tape and regulations to make it easier for the private sector to build
00:04:49.080 houses. Carney's plan is bigger government. And as I often say, and as Reagan said, the government
00:04:54.380 that is best governs least. Let's move on. I don't want to spend too much time on this. So he goes on
00:04:58.860 to talk about building Canada into an energy superpower. Well, I could go on and on about
00:05:03.640 this. It's been discussed here many times. I live in Alberta. There's still no pipeline built.
00:05:07.240 there's not likely to be a pipeline built. Talked about that yesterday. Carney's plan for being an
00:05:12.700 energy superpower is his federal electricity plan, which I've talked about here a couple of times
00:05:18.240 before, four paragraphs on his webpage on the Canadian government website, where he talks about
00:05:23.760 clean energy 25 times in four paragraphs. That's being an energy superpower to Mark Carney.
00:05:30.240 Building new trade corridors with reliable trading partners. Well, has he done that? He's been out of
00:05:35.700 the country a lot, signing lots of pieces of paper with possible agreements. You could call
00:05:41.360 them memorandums of understanding, but it doesn't amount to a lot when you consider our biggest
00:05:46.700 trading partner is the United States, but he still hasn't signed a deal with Donald Trump in the
00:05:51.520 United States. And going into Kuzma, it looks like it's going to be a disaster. It means the
00:05:57.280 government's spending less, so Canada can invest more. Well, here's a headline for you right here.
00:06:03.720 This is from The Hub.
00:06:05.560 Canada's $66.9 billion deficit,
00:06:08.920 breaking down the big numbers in Carney's fear-fueled spring economic update.
00:06:13.720 He is not spending less.
00:06:15.360 This is a catastrophe waiting to happen.
00:06:19.160 You'll remember it wasn't very long ago.
00:06:22.440 Justin Trudeau said modest deficits of $10 billion a year.
00:06:27.320 People lost their minds when Trudeau said that,
00:06:29.740 and now we're in the range of $60 billion every year.
00:06:33.920 It's not a catastrophe waiting to happen.
00:06:36.600 It's happening in real time.
00:06:37.880 He talks about making big polluters pay
00:06:40.840 instead of hardworking Canadians.
00:06:43.580 I don't know what he's done there
00:06:45.400 other than putting an industrial carbon tax
00:06:47.740 on Alberta's oil, which makes us uncompetitive.
00:06:51.100 I don't think that helps hardworking Canadians at all.
00:06:53.980 And then creating one Canadian economy instead of 13.
00:06:57.180 He promised to do that by last Canada Day.
00:06:59.940 What are we, eight, nine days away from Canada Day?
00:07:02.900 Again, I don't think he's accomplished that.
00:07:05.260 It's all a performance.
00:07:06.460 So let's move on to things that are kind of important to you,
00:07:08.860 like the cost of living.
00:07:10.340 I remember it's been probably,
00:07:12.420 it's well over a year now
00:07:13.600 when I held a liter of cream here
00:07:16.580 and said I judged the economy by how much cream cost.
00:07:20.220 And at that point, it was $2.85 a liter. 0.72
00:07:23.960 My wife was out yesterday, called her up. 0.96
00:07:26.220 I said pick up some cream. She said she got one liter. How much was it? $3.65 a liter.
00:07:33.900 And that's low. It's generally up around $4 a liter now. Things are not getting better for you.
00:07:40.280 What Carney provides when it comes to cost of living is Band-Aid Solutions. They created the
00:07:46.040 Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit. Kind of an Orwellian thing to say about having to buy food
00:07:52.180 for Canadians now because they can't afford anything anymore in this crappy Canadian economy
00:07:57.000 created by the Liberals. And they've got a school food program. You know, I did a video on this,
00:08:02.940 how this is a failure. Liberals celebrate this like it's some kind of victory. This is sad. This
00:08:10.380 is a Band-Aid solution to a big problem. This is throwing a bone to you. I'll use the quote again
00:08:17.180 from George Bernard Shaw, the politician that robs Peter to pay Paul will always have a friend
00:08:23.380 in Paul. You become dependent on government. The liberals love this stuff. I mean, take a look at
00:08:28.520 GDP per capita. I'll bring this up on the screen for you. Look at this. Here's Canada up here.
00:08:33.820 Here's the United States. Canada per capita economic growth laggard for 10 years.
00:08:40.220 And then they've got the fuel tax cut. Again, this is another indication of failure in the
00:08:46.640 country. This isn't solving the problem. This is government subsidizing failure, failure of the
00:08:52.380 liberal government. Now, what I want to do here is I'm going to end with another politician who
00:08:56.860 quite rightly points out all the problems of the Carney government. I haven't mentioned that we're
00:09:04.240 in a recession right now, but Andrew Scheer does. He's the only leader of a G20 country that has
00:09:10.460 delivered a recession. The stats are just awful. Under Mark Carney, Canada has seen five consecutive
00:09:18.140 quarters of business investment decline. That means more business dollars leaving Canada than
00:09:23.860 coming into Canada. He's delivered the highest household debt in the G7. He's actually doubled
00:09:29.820 Justin Trudeau's deficits. All those deficits that pushed up inflation and caused interest
00:09:34.920 rates to arise. Mark Carney's actually doubled all that. Meanwhile, Canadians are paying the
00:09:39.800 price for all of this terrible economic data. There was a poll just recently that showed that
00:09:44.580 38% of Canadians report experiencing at least one form of food insecurity in the past six months. 0.98
00:09:51.920 Was I right when I said right off the top of this video that carny sucks?
00:09:56.920 Listen, I also said it's summertime. You're not going to hear as much about politics. That's a 0.95
00:10:03.120 good thing. Go for a drive, have a barbecue, take your kids to the ball game or the soccer game,
00:10:09.040 and enjoy the summer and leave it all behind and don't stress over it because before very long,
00:10:16.560 the liberals and Kearney will be back to screw everything up.
00:10:20.720 Thanks for watching. If you like this video, give it a thumbs up. Subscribe to the channel.
