00:00:00.120 Hi, it's John and welcome to the channel. Enjoying a cup of coffee this morning.
00:00:05.040 Enjoying the caffeine as well. It's just after four o'clock in the morning and it is the 27th
00:00:10.180 of November and there's been a phrase or a motto running through my mind over the last 24 hours or
00:00:16.500 so and it's attributed to Teddy Roosevelt about 120 years ago. He was the 26th president of the
00:00:22.540 United States and he said, walk softly but carry a big stick. And I've been thinking about Donald
00:00:28.420 Trump when it comes to this saying. I think Trump carries a very big stick. Maybe he doesn't talk
00:00:36.160 quite so softly though but I mentioned yesterday in the video that the Trump tariffs on Canada and
00:00:44.120 Mexico would be a big story and Donald Trump dropped a nuclear bomb on Canada. It was everywhere
00:00:51.960 yesterday and it will continue to lead the news, I'm sure, until this problem is straightened out.
00:00:57.280 Let me just read some headlines from some of the newspapers yesterday.
00:01:00.860 What are tariffs? Trump demands Canada, Mexico stop U.S. invasion or pay a very big price.
00:01:07.120 Possible 25% Trump tariff hurts everybody, Alberta business stakeholders say.
00:01:12.760 Trudeau talks up status quo as government grilled over Trump tariffs.
00:01:17.240 Prairie premiers urge action on security amid Trump's tariff threats.
00:01:22.020 Ford says Trump tariff threat like a family member stabbing you in the heart.
00:01:25.900 Trudeau government doesn't look ready to avoid Trump tariffs.
00:01:30.320 Climate obsessions Trudeau has put Canada at the mercy of Trump tariffs.
00:01:34.560 Quebec premier says Trudeau must get serious about border problems to avoid Trump tariffs.
00:01:40.660 Tariff threat on oil shows need for Ottawa to get on Trump's wavelength, leaders say.
00:01:46.320 So those are just some of the headlines from yesterday.
00:01:49.980 And I also mentioned yesterday, I think this problem is going to be resolved quickly.
00:01:54.860 All Trudeau has to do is ensure the border is secure and assure Trump that it is.
00:02:02.380 Okay, that's all he has to do.
00:02:04.400 But I think Trudeau is leading from behind on this.
00:02:07.400 It's the premiers who really need this solved quickly.
00:02:11.700 And I look at what's going on with those prairie premiers I mentioned in one of those headlines.
00:02:16.940 Wab Canoe, the premier of Manitoba.
00:02:19.960 Scott Moe, premier of Saskatchewan.
00:02:21.800 And Daniel Smith, the premier of my province, Alberta, need this issue solved fast.
00:02:25.900 And I learned today that Alberta does $188 billion worth of business with the United States.
00:02:32.200 The United States is Alberta's biggest trading partner.
00:02:34.340 And most of that is oil.
00:02:35.740 So we need this solved very quickly.
00:02:38.320 Don Braid in the Calgary Herald today says Trudeau has a chance to win another election
00:02:44.500 if he can solve this problem by January the 20th.
00:02:47.660 I don't think that Trudeau is in a good situation here at all.
00:02:51.640 I think he, like I said, leading from behind here.
00:02:54.540 He looks weak on this issue.
00:02:56.460 And I've mentioned a number of times that, you know, since Pierre Polyev has become the
00:03:01.260 leader of the opposition, he has led on a number of issues here in Canada.
00:03:05.520 He is leading the narrative when it comes to Canada, when it's dealing with immigration,
00:03:10.520 car theft, and housing issues in this country.
00:03:13.840 It wasn't even on Trudeau's radar until he brought it up.
00:03:17.180 And now Donald Trump is in charge of Canada's border, not Trudeau.
00:03:22.280 Trudeau has to act at the whim of a man who isn't even president yet.
00:03:27.200 That's the big stick I'm talking about.
00:03:29.140 Donald Trump is wielding a very big stick right now.
00:03:32.000 Donald Trump does not want a porous border of people coming through from Canada into
00:03:36.280 the United States.
00:03:37.140 And I understand thousands of possible terrorists have done that over the last several years
00:03:41.380 because of our border policy.
00:03:43.460 And if we have a secure border one way, it's secure the other way as well.
00:03:48.060 And again, Donald Trump isn't even president as of yet.
00:03:51.400 So we're going to see this issue solved real quick.
00:03:54.540 Prime Minister wants to meet with the premiers and they're going to nail this down very fast.
00:03:59.540 So I don't think it's going to be an issue for very much longer.
00:04:01.720 But here's the other thing.
00:04:04.860 Donald Trump will be sworn in on the 20th of January.
00:04:09.680 And I think there could be big changes because of that big stick that Donald Trump wields.
00:04:14.940 I'm looking at Gaza.
00:04:16.440 There were no wars when Donald Trump was president.
00:04:18.820 And I think the Gaza situation could be cleared up quickly when Donald Trump becomes president.
00:04:23.720 And unless Biden and the Democrats get the United States and the world into World War III by
00:04:30.380 escalating what's going on between Russia and Ukraine, I think that could be solved quickly
00:04:35.280 as well as soon as Donald Trump is president of the United States.
00:04:39.220 He wields a big stick and he's going to start swinging it real soon.
00:04:43.960 Talk to you later.
00:04:44.720 Thanks for watching.
