Hi, it's John and welcome to the channel. It is Thursday, December the 18th. We're a week
00:00:07.860
away from Santa. Merry Christmas to you. 4.04 a.m. as I record this second video today. It'll
00:00:14.280
be going up a little bit later. And of course, I've got my big blue mug of coffee. Thanks so
00:00:18.180
much for being here. If you hear some banging around in the background and upstairs, that's
00:00:22.600
my Roomba vacuuming. Okay, so that should go off in a couple of minutes. So what's the thumbnail
00:00:28.640
title on this video? I haven't quite thought it out yet, but it could be something like
00:00:33.220
Alberta is separating from Canada. And the sub headline would be, but we haven't even voted
00:00:40.880
to leave yet because it's quite extraordinary what's happened in the last 11 and a half months
00:00:46.820
since the beginning of the year. Almost like it's been drip, drip, drip and stealthily, Alberta has
00:00:56.040
been distancing itself from Canada. And I'm not talking about little issues here, folks. I'm
00:01:01.220
talking about the big ones. And it's almost as if you haven't noticed it happening, but
00:01:07.720
it has been happening. We have been distancing ourselves from Canada. And as I said off the
00:01:12.280
top, dare I say it, separating ourselves from Canada. Daniel Smith has been masterful at this.
00:01:18.520
And I've got a whole bunch of examples here for you. And I don't know whether I've got them
00:01:23.900
all, but there's some big ones. And I'm going to use Danielle Smith's words as much as possible
00:01:28.460
during this video. I'm going to try to keep it short. And at the end, Danielle Smith herself
00:01:33.820
will make a great case for independence. And if you're in Alberta and you're not thinking about
00:01:38.680
independence, heed her words because you might rethink things at the end of this video.
00:01:44.760
So why am I talking about this today? Because of this article right here.
00:01:48.300
Danielle Smith speaks out on immigration. The Alberta premier is not holding back. The pearl
00:01:54.240
clutchers are losing their minds over this. She talked about this at the annual general meeting for
00:01:59.180
the United Conservative Party. I'll play a short clip from her in just a moment. But what she talks
00:02:03.480
about here makes common sense. There's not a lot of common sense in Canada, but it makes perfect sense
00:02:08.820
as well to anybody who is a taxpayer here. This article apparently is the number one read article over
00:02:14.140
the last few days in the national post. So nationally, but she says stuff like this, which
00:02:18.820
you see in blue on the screen right here, you're probably going to agree with her. Maybe you don't
00:02:23.380
get healthcare covered until you've been a taxpayer for a number of years. Maybe you don't bring your
00:02:27.600
kids over to be educated in our publicly funded education system or use our taxpayer supported
00:02:33.100
childcare system until you have a certain number of years as a taxpayer. You have to pay in to the
00:02:38.860
system. Makes sense, doesn't it? Here she is talking less than a month ago about this in Edmonton.
00:02:43.960
We need an immigration policy that puts Albertans first. And that is why our government will be
00:02:50.080
taking primary control over our immigration system in the coming months and years ahead.
00:02:56.220
Using our constitutionally protected provincial rights, Alberta will return to a more stable
00:03:01.620
number of primarily economic migrants so that newcomers come here to work and contribute as they
00:03:07.880
have historically done. While Canadian citizens living in Alberta are given first priority to the jobs
00:03:13.340
and the opportunities our economy creates. Alberta distancing itself from Canada on immigration as it
00:03:19.900
is on this issue as well. Alberta and Danielle Smith protecting children. This story has been running
00:03:26.040
nonstop in the media. Again, more pearl clutchers here. Breathlessly talking about how Skate Canada has
00:03:32.700
taken a stand on behalf of people who are confused regarding their gender. Just to let you know,
00:03:38.800
Alberta's got a backer and I'd pick these people over Skate Canada any day. Boxing regulator backs
00:03:45.040
Alberta in clash over trans sports with Skate Canada. Here's Danielle Smith.
00:03:49.800
For children who identify as transgender, I want you to also know that these policies are being
00:03:54.680
implemented in order to protect the choices you have regarding altering your physical body until
00:04:00.220
after you've grown mature enough to make such choices safely and with a full understanding of what
00:04:05.820
that means for the rest of your life. We've got immigration. We've got protecting children. But
00:04:11.220
what about the biggies? I guess you could say immigration and protecting children. They're both big
00:04:16.460
things. But when it comes to health care in Canada, that's right at the top of the list. And Danielle Smith
00:04:22.380
and the United Conservative Party in Alberta are separating from Canada on this issue as well.
00:04:28.100
Some might say it's quite a tall order, but it's not. And most of the world's advanced health care
00:04:33.320
systems from France, Germany and Sweden to the Netherlands, Australia and Switzerland have
00:04:38.720
figured out how. It's time for Alberta to do the same. We're calling it the dual practice surgery
00:04:44.360
model. And here's how it will work. The Alberta government will introduce legislation to permit
00:04:49.800
surgeons and supporting surgical professionals like anesthesiologists to perform both publicly and
00:04:55.800
privately funded knee, hip, eye, shoulder and other elective surgeries.
00:05:00.080
Yes, even on health care, Alberta is pushing back against Canada, separating itself from Canada.
00:05:08.000
And all three of these things are good things. And I'm just getting started, folks. I'm wondering why
00:05:12.080
the rest of the country and the other provinces aren't doing these things. They make sense.
00:05:18.000
As does this. I don't like the title of this, but it makes sense. The Alberta Sovereignty within the
00:05:23.440
United Canada Act. I think this is a bogus phrase that she uses all the time.
00:05:28.480
I prefer just Alberta Sovereignty. But what does this do? The rest of the provinces should be doing
00:05:33.200
this as well. This act defends Alberta's interests by giving our province a legal framework, framework
00:05:39.360
rather, to push back on federal laws or policies that negatively impact the province. The act is used
00:05:45.520
to address federal legislation and policies that are unconstitutional, violate Albertans' charter
00:05:51.760
rights or that affect or interfere with our provincial constitutional rights. So I like the act.
00:06:01.360
We're working right now on what a legislative framework for an Alberta firearms license would
00:06:06.720
look like. And we're going to fight it out because property and civil rights are our jurisdiction under
00:06:12.640
Section 91 of the Constitution. 91 or 92. I always get those. I think it's Section 12. I have to defer to
00:06:21.040
my judge on that. Alberta is saying to the rest of the country, law-abiding citizens have a right to
00:06:26.480
have guns. And if you think the gun grab the Liberals have been on over the last several years is a good
00:06:31.600
thing, let me ask you this question. How many guns do criminals turn in? None. Pretty soon the only
00:06:37.200
people who have weapons are the government and the criminals. Moving on to this. Now this is a huge one.
00:06:43.280
Recently this was called Bill 1. This is now passed. It's known as the International Agreements Act. Bill 1
00:06:49.440
helps assert Alberta's provincial priorities and safeguard our constitutional jurisdiction
00:06:54.800
in international agreements signed by the federal government. Here's Danielle Smith again.
00:06:59.600
That's why we are taking the next step to defend Alberta's constitutional rights through Bill 1,
00:07:04.800
the International Agreements Act. Ottawa can sign international agreements with other countries.
00:07:10.080
That's their right. But this legislation, it makes it clear that those agreements will only become
00:07:15.120
enforceable in Alberta if implemented under provincial legislation. We have made our position clear.
00:07:21.280
Work with us and we'll get things done. Overstep and Alberta will stand its ground.
00:07:26.560
So basically Alberta is telling Ottawa to stay in its lane. Stay out of our own business. And then
00:07:31.680
there's this. Hey, there's still more to come. Alberta legislating authority to ignore international
00:07:37.760
agreements signed by Canada. Article September 26th. Alberta Premier Daniel Smith's government says it is
00:07:43.600
planning to introduce legislation that would allow it to ignore international agreements signed by
00:07:48.320
Ottawa. It's known as the Provincial Priorities Act. And then there's this. And boy, this one.
00:07:54.800
Boy, this one ever hit hard. Danielle Smith says she's open to shipping oil to Pacific via U.S.
00:08:00.880
Northwest. Now, not only is this an indication of how sick Canada is that we can't get anything through
00:08:06.080
British Columbia. But boy, would this ever embarrass Mark Carney. I'm almost thinking the fact that this
00:08:12.960
story came out this week is an admission by Danielle Smith that this MOU that she signed with
00:08:17.680
Carney is going to be a failure. And of course, there's this sub-headline down here. Comments
00:08:23.440
come just weeks after Saskatchewan-based potash giant Nutrien announced plans to build a $1
00:08:28.080
billion export terminal at Washington State's Port of Longsview. Think of the jobs that will be
00:08:33.440
created in the United States if this pipeline goes down south of Alberta into the United States
00:08:38.480
and across to the Pacific Coast. Jobs lost in Canada. Revenue lost in Canada. A lot of money
00:08:44.880
lost in Canada. And a lot of money lost for Aboriginal groups that are standing in the way of this
00:08:50.000
prosperity that could come through British Columbia. But Danielle Smith has been talking
00:08:54.080
about this all year. She's talked about working with the United States when it comes to pipelines.
00:08:59.040
Here she is on CTV. Well, I can tell you that Albertans are questioning whether Canada works. And
00:09:05.520
I'm not telling anything you don't know. There's a very active group that thinks Canada's broken.
00:09:11.280
And so I suppose I could just go down to the United States and start working with American
00:09:16.560
counterparts to see if we can build more pipelines. They've expressed an interest in restarting the
00:09:20.800
Keystone XL. And I suppose we could maybe sell another million or two million barrels a day
00:09:24.960
additional to the United States. Imagine if this pipeline through the United States over to the
00:09:31.120
coast went through. The huge embarrassment. Just an absolute defeat for the Liberal government and
00:09:36.640
Mark Carney. Danielle, do it. For Christ's sakes, do it. And then we move along to this as well. And
00:09:41.600
this has been good news for the independence movement. She's helped out the independence movement.
00:09:46.000
She lowered the threshold for signatures. How a UCP bill renewed Alberta separatist bid to force
00:09:52.240
referendum after court shot it down. That would be bill 14, which passed, which means we're going to
00:09:57.120
have a referendum in 2026. Now there's also this. Danielle Smith has spoken quite openly about the
00:10:04.640
fact that we have an Ottawa problem. Well, let's face it. Alberta is being held back. Our economy has been
00:10:11.440
under attack for most of the last 10 years. Frankly, off and on for decades long before then. Not by a foreign
00:10:18.320
country or by world economic forces. No, Alberta's biggest threat to our prosperity and growth has
00:10:25.120
come from our own nation's capital. Alberta has an Ottawa problem. Isn't it remarkable how much Alberta
00:10:32.480
has separated itself from Canada just since the beginning of 2025? Other than Nutrien and Saskatchewan,
00:10:40.160
which I just mentioned, there's no other province in this country that has done a single thing to
00:10:46.000
distance itself from Canada like Alberta has done in 2025. It's remarkable.
00:10:52.320
Now, I'm going to show you two clips here before I wrap this thing up. The first one is Danielle
00:10:58.400
Smith making a case for independence and how you could enrich yourself if you vote yes to leave Canada.
00:11:04.400
And in the second one, what I want you to do when she says the words foreign nation, insert the word
00:11:10.960
Canada. Alberta, year after year, has 20 to 25 billion dollars that is siphoned out of our system
00:11:19.520
to go to Ottawa so that it can be spent mostly in Quebec, but also in other places that vote liberal.
00:11:25.360
We have been watching this for years. 600 billion dollars in the last 40 or 50 years that have been
00:11:32.160
taken out of this province. You don't think we might be able to do a little bit more on social spending if
00:11:36.560
those 20 to 25 billion dollars stayed here? You don't think we'd be able to cut taxes a bit if
00:11:41.520
those 20 to 25 billion dollars stayed here? It is $5,000 per Albertan that every single year gets
00:11:51.680
transferred out of this province for political reasons so that the Liberals can continue to spend
00:11:57.360
it in places that vote liberal. That is what is happening in the province and in the country.
00:12:02.560
We don't have to remain economically weak. We don't need to rely on any foreign nation for our economic
00:12:09.120
well-being. We don't have to remain economically weak. We don't have to rely on any foreign nation.
00:12:17.760
Canada. See how we're separating ourselves one thing at a time over the last year? How Alberta is
00:12:26.240
different? How Alberta would be better if it was independent? We've got that chance coming up in
00:12:33.840
2026. It's just extraordinary. Thank you very much for watching. I do appreciate it. I think I missed a
00:12:40.480
few things probably. There's probably more. It's just been a whirlwind year for us here in Alberta
00:12:46.480
when it comes to the rest of the country. By the way, I put a video up earlier this morning with Tanya
00:12:51.040
Clemens, who's a board member with the Alberta Prosperity Project. It was an outstanding interview.
00:12:56.880
I think she's a very, very important voice when it comes to the independent movement. Our card is
00:13:01.840
coming up. You should be able to see it. Click on it. Watch the video. Give it a like. I enjoy doing
00:13:07.920
these interviews when it comes to the independence movement. I hope you appreciate them.
00:13:12.000
Thanks for watching. If you liked the video, give it a thumbs up. Subscribe to the channel. Ring the bell
00:13:16.000
for notifications. I'll see you in the next one.
