00:00:00.000 Hi, it's John, and welcome to the channel, 4.34 a.m.
00:00:03.360 It is Saturday, May the 17th.
00:00:05.140 I've got my big blue mug of coffee, as usual.
00:00:07.940 Hope you're having a great start to your weekend.
00:00:10.420 And I appreciate you being here, and I need your help.
00:00:14.720 I want Ezra Levant to see my video this morning.
00:00:20.180 I mention here a number of times,
00:00:22.440 I'm just a guy in my basement.
00:00:24.220 I've got 30,000-plus subscribers here,
00:00:26.900 which I'm really grateful for,
00:00:27.960 but I don't have a big voice.
00:00:30.380 Ezra Levant does.
00:00:32.260 And Ezra, I appreciate, I really appreciate
00:00:35.040 what you've been doing for the independence movement
00:00:36.740 here in Alberta.
00:00:37.980 You had the town hall in Edmonton on Monday.
00:00:41.320 Wednesday, you did as well.
00:00:43.240 You talked about having twice as many people there.
00:00:45.500 You could have sold more tickets.
00:00:46.520 I could get a ticket.
00:00:47.780 I didn't get in in time.
00:00:49.120 I wanted to be there to cover it a little bit.
00:00:51.940 But Ezra, we're in trouble in this movement right now.
00:00:55.660 Despite what you're seeing in the numbers
00:00:57.620 who are showing up, it doesn't matter.
00:01:00.280 Look at Polyev and all the people who showed up to his rallies.
00:01:02.920 He lost the election.
00:01:04.280 We're going to lose this independence vote
00:01:06.020 if something isn't done immediately.
00:01:07.600 Time's a-wasting.
00:01:09.840 Jeff Rath says he wants to have a vote
00:01:12.220 by the end of the year on this.
00:01:13.660 Danielle Smith promises it in 2026.
00:01:17.040 If the number of signatures are gained,
00:01:18.960 time is a-wasting.
00:01:20.040 That's not a lot of time.
00:01:21.280 And nobody is leading this movement right now.
00:01:24.960 It's in trouble.
00:01:26.460 13 days ago, I was way ahead on this.
00:01:29.100 Other people are starting to talk about this now.
00:01:31.140 I was way ahead on this.
00:01:32.400 On the 4th of May,
00:01:34.600 the day after I was at the independence rally in Edmonton,
00:01:37.480 I did this video right here.
00:01:39.420 And how much I was worried that we didn't have a leader.
00:01:43.700 This is what I had to say about the three people at the time
00:01:46.320 who were speaking about independence.
00:01:48.920 There are more now, but Jeff Rath,
00:01:51.200 Cameron Davies from the Republican Party of Alberta,
00:01:54.060 Jeevan Mangat from the Wild Rose Independence Party.
00:01:56.540 I said this in that video.
00:01:58.320 We need a leader.
00:01:59.900 That's my concern.
00:02:01.400 I don't want to piss this opportunity away.
00:02:03.700 You don't either.
00:02:04.420 So we need to put pressure on the people
00:02:06.060 who are right now part of this movement,
00:02:08.220 with the men I mentioned,
00:02:09.640 and have them get together
00:02:10.900 and find someone they know
00:02:12.840 that can lead this movement
00:02:14.300 who has a big name, a big face, and a big voice.
00:02:17.880 Ezra, do you see anybody who's heading up this movement?
00:02:21.040 Is there a plan to get somebody?
00:02:24.640 I don't.
00:02:26.400 I don't know if there's a PR person
00:02:28.720 for the independence movement.
00:02:30.180 Is there even an organization
00:02:31.460 for the independence movement right now?
00:02:33.940 No.
00:02:34.260 The Alberta Prosperity Project
00:02:36.520 has got all of these people,
00:02:38.320 I think hundreds of thousands now,
00:02:39.720 who have committed to signing on a piece of paper
00:02:42.760 that they would like to have a referendum.
00:02:45.360 Where do I sign?
00:02:47.200 Why isn't that being done now?
00:02:48.740 Why are we waiting?
00:02:52.360 You know, I was watching Candace Malcolm, Ezra, yesterday.
00:02:56.260 You've been on Candace's show.
00:02:57.800 I have great respect for Candace and Juno News.
00:03:00.020 She had young Wyatt Claypool on from National Telegraph.
00:03:03.580 Young guy here, lives in Calgary.
00:03:05.160 He's got a YouTube channel.
00:03:06.760 Smart as a whip.
00:03:08.120 Smart as a whip.
00:03:09.840 And he knows Alberta politics pretty good.
00:03:12.280 And this is what he had to say
00:03:13.640 about the possibility that the independence movement
00:03:16.700 would be successful here in Alberta.
00:03:18.840 Whenever I look at the polling,
00:03:20.420 whenever I look at just the realities on the ground
00:03:22.900 of the kind of mountains you're going to have to ascend
00:03:26.040 in order to win the victory,
00:03:28.300 I just don't see a real path forward.
00:03:30.440 I know some people in the separatist movement.
00:03:32.200 I appreciate them.
00:03:33.140 Even though many of them are very good at politics.
00:03:36.220 But you need to have like a thousand people
00:03:39.080 around the province organizing
00:03:41.080 who are fantastic at politics
00:03:42.920 to get something like this across.
00:03:45.500 And I don't even think at this point
00:03:46.840 they maybe would even win in the rural areas at this point.
00:03:50.900 Ezra, is young Mr. Claypool correct?
00:03:53.560 Yeah, he's right.
00:03:54.420 We need thousands of volunteers
00:03:57.260 helping with this organization,
00:03:58.700 but there's no organization.
00:04:00.960 He goes on to say that retirees
00:04:03.180 aren't going to vote for independence.
00:04:05.180 They're happy in their houses.
00:04:06.440 They've got their pensions.
00:04:07.700 Everything's fine for them.
00:04:08.860 They're the elbows up people
00:04:09.960 who voted for Mark Carney.
00:04:11.360 He goes on to say immigrants
00:04:12.500 aren't going to vote to leave.
00:04:13.500 They're just happy to be in Canada.
00:04:16.920 I say that leftists and liberals,
00:04:18.880 all of them who move out to Alberta
00:04:20.240 to have a better life,
00:04:21.360 they don't integrate, they infiltrate.
00:04:23.020 They won't vote for independence either.
00:04:25.360 So this is going to fail.
00:04:28.660 Here's a $100 bill.
00:04:30.620 I would like to donate this
00:04:32.280 to the independence movement in Alberta
00:04:34.300 so we can use this to run ads
00:04:37.220 to convince people Alberta is better
00:04:39.100 out of Canada than in Canada.
00:04:40.860 Where do I send this?
00:04:43.000 I don't know.
00:04:44.660 We don't have a leader.
00:04:45.780 We don't have any organization whatsoever.
00:04:52.420 And the other thing that concerns me
00:04:54.200 about this is, Ezra,
00:04:56.220 is if this doesn't happen,
00:04:58.800 the NDP are waiting to take control
00:05:00.840 here in Alberta right now.
00:05:02.380 Wyatt mentioned that yesterday.
00:05:05.160 I mentioned it 13 days ago.
00:05:07.520 Danielle Smith is a separatist.
00:05:08.720 Look at this picture.
00:05:11.160 This is where we are.
00:05:12.140 She's got to walk a fine line.
00:05:14.000 She's been called a separatist
00:05:15.120 because she's lowered the threshold.
00:05:16.740 Made it easier for people,
00:05:18.780 the Citizens Initiative,
00:05:20.060 to go to the government
00:05:20.800 if they've got a grievance.
00:05:22.000 And that means anything.
00:05:23.820 Not just the independence movement.
00:05:26.700 If we have the NDP back in this province,
00:05:28.740 we're screwed, folks.
00:05:30.000 We are screwed.
00:05:30.840 And the other thing the NDP
00:05:31.840 are waiting to do
00:05:32.700 is label her as Donald Trump.
00:05:35.200 Carney did it with Polly F.
00:05:36.520 That helped him.
00:05:37.800 Albanese did it against Peter Dutton,
00:05:39.420 the conservative in Australia.
00:05:41.100 Labor nutcases
00:05:43.200 because Peter Dutton
00:05:45.000 was labeled Donald Trump.
00:05:47.080 If I can find this picture right here,
00:05:49.560 so can the NDP,
00:05:50.480 and they've got pictures of her
00:05:51.500 shaking the hands of Donald Trump,
00:05:52.900 they're going to use this
00:05:53.720 against Danielle Smith
00:05:55.260 in the next election
00:05:56.060 because Trump will still be the president.
00:05:58.520 Ezra, you know there's people
00:05:59.960 who say the NDP
00:06:00.880 will never get re-elected in Alberta.
00:06:03.840 Three months ago,
00:06:04.900 the Liberals would never get re-elected,
00:06:06.660 and they did.
00:06:07.240 And young Mr. Claypool mentioned
00:06:11.440 in the video with Candace Malcolm,
00:06:13.560 the Liberals are loving this
00:06:14.820 because they'd much rather work
00:06:16.200 with Nehed Nenshi.
00:06:17.120 They're going to undermine
00:06:18.280 the separatist movement out here
00:06:19.820 all they can
00:06:20.680 because Nehed Nenshi will ask nothing
00:06:22.860 of the Liberal government
00:06:23.720 and Mark Carney.
00:06:24.500 He'll play right along.
00:06:25.400 There'll be no demands
00:06:26.260 like Danielle Smith.
00:06:28.820 We have no leader here.
00:06:30.780 History lesson, once again,
00:06:32.220 if you watch my May 4th video,
00:06:33.640 this will sound familiar,
00:06:34.900 but I'm going to expand on it a little bit.
00:06:37.120 In 1995, during the Quebec referendum,
00:06:39.380 there were two people
00:06:40.540 who headed up
00:06:42.020 the independence movement for Quebec.
00:06:45.080 One of them was the premier
00:06:46.200 of the province at the time,
00:06:47.520 the head of the Parti Québécois,
00:06:49.200 Jacques Perizeau.
00:06:50.120 The other one was Lucien Bouchard,
00:06:51.820 the head of the Bloc Québécois
00:06:53.100 and the leader of the opposition.
00:06:55.360 It was unprecedented at the time,
00:06:57.040 but a few days before the referendum,
00:06:58.960 Jean Chrétien opened up time
00:07:00.740 on national television
00:07:01.900 to make the case for Quebec to stay.
00:07:04.700 I think it was 15 minutes.
00:07:06.520 Correct me if I'm wrong.
00:07:07.980 Bouchard got the same amount
00:07:09.460 of time on the air.
00:07:10.300 Do you think that would happen today?
00:07:12.240 First off, would Mark Carney
00:07:13.580 speak on behalf of Alberta Stang?
00:07:15.360 Not a chance.
00:07:16.500 And who is the face
00:07:18.220 of the independence movement here?
00:07:19.400 Nobody.
00:07:20.460 So that's what I'm asking again, Ezra.
00:07:22.820 We need somebody to step up here.
00:07:25.820 You know the people
00:07:27.020 who are involved right now,
00:07:28.400 these different groups.
00:07:29.620 Can you get them together?
00:07:32.040 And can one of them
00:07:32.980 or all of them
00:07:34.160 come up with somebody
00:07:35.060 who can lead
00:07:37.340 the independence movement here?
00:07:38.440 Because I think it's doomed
00:07:39.620 to fail right now
00:07:40.560 unless we get some organization.
00:07:42.680 Right now, it is a joke.
00:07:44.620 Thank you for watching.
00:07:47.440 If you liked the video,
00:07:48.760 please give me a thumbs up,
00:07:50.040 subscribe to the channel,
00:07:51.540 ring the bell for notifications,
00:07:53.280 and I will see you
00:07:54.380 in the next one.
00:07:56.120 Thank you.
