The Forever Canadian Campaign is a farce. A petition that needs 277,000 signatures in 3 months to get a referendum question that says Alberta wants to stay in Canada. It's an embarrassment, and Alberta's Chief Electoral Officer should be embarrassed.

00:00:00.000 Hi, it's John, and welcome to the channel. 626 AM, Tuesday, October the 14th. Hope you're having
00:00:08.440 a great start to your day today. Hope you had a good Thanksgiving as well. My wife made a
00:00:13.500 Thanksgiving meal yesterday that simply can't be beat. I've let my belt out this morning. I'm
00:00:18.040 officially on a diet today. I ate far too much, but it was oh so good. I've got my big blue mug
00:00:24.520 of coffee today. And you know what? I'm going to go straight into it. I'm not going to bury the
00:00:29.420 lead. I'm going straight for the jugular on this one today. I want to talk about a man,
00:00:35.140 an Alberta man, who should be embarrassed. And I want to talk about a petition campaign that is,
00:00:41.020 quite frankly, embarrassing. And who and what am I talking about? I'm talking about
00:00:46.280 Thomas Lukasik, former deputy premier of Alberta, former progressive conservative MP. More progressive,
00:00:52.540 by the way, than conservative. He's no friend of yours if you are a conservative here. Here he is,
00:00:59.000 campaigning on behalf of leftist liberal Eleanor Olszewski in the recent election. So he's not a
00:01:06.500 conservative anymore, if he ever was. But he tweets out like this all along about his Forever Canadian
00:01:12.100 campaign. All the time I see this on X about him encouraging people to sign a petition. And this
00:01:18.180 Forever Canadian petition is an embarrassment. It's embarrassing. They need 277,000 signatures
00:01:26.780 in three months to get a question, a referendum question that says Alberta wants to stay in Canada.
00:01:34.220 It's a petition and a possible referendum question about nothing. I don't know that Mr. Lukasik is
00:01:42.000 being truthful with the people who signed this ridiculous petition. It's definitely being 0.72
00:01:46.220 disingenuous. Because if you've signed the petition and there is a question, which is doubtful,
00:01:51.320 a referendum question, it doesn't matter how people answer the question, the status quo will
00:01:57.720 be maintained. And I'll tell you this, the chief electoral officer of Alberta, whose name is Gordon
00:02:03.320 McClure, you should be embarrassed as well for allowing this farce to go forward, to allow time, 0.99
00:02:08.040 effort and money here in Alberta to go towards this ridiculous campaign and this ridiculous man 0.99
00:02:12.780 who has a petition that is doing nothing but stroking his own ego. 0.86
00:02:19.100 He needs 277,000 signatures in a province, by the way, I just found this out this morning,
00:02:25.020 that is about to tick over to 5 million people. And in just a couple of months ago, four months ago,
00:02:30.860 before the signature signing started, he was bragging that all of these people were emailing him and all
00:02:37.580 these people were sending messages. And he was so confident that he was going to get so many people
00:02:42.620 to sign his petition. And it's a failure. It's an embarrassment. Here he is on CTV.
00:02:49.580 I have to tell you my personal email and my personal messages on social media are at a point where I
00:02:54.220 can't respond to them anymore. And the question is from all across Alberta, and we're talking about
00:03:00.700 veterans and mayors and police officers and teachers saying, how can I help? And where can I sign the
00:03:07.180 petition? I'm not asking Premier Smith to pass Bill 54 for me and make it easier on me with lower number
00:03:15.660 of signatures and more time to gather signatures. I said, no, I'll file my application before Bill 54
00:03:22.780 is proclaimed because I have confidence that there are enough Albertans that will sign this petition.
00:03:28.300 As a matter of fact, I don't want to meet the minimum number of signatures. I would like to quadruple
00:03:33.180 that. How confident are you that you're going to get your 277,000 now, Mr. LeCasic? You wanted to
00:03:39.020 quadruple it. You're not even going to be close. All these loyal Canadians you said are going to sign
00:03:43.820 your petition. They should be lining up. I mean, you've been making excuses. You did this the other day.
00:03:52.940 We've got some snow here in Calgary. Bad news. It snowed in Calgary. He tweets out a picture of a
00:03:57.340 guy standing in front of an RV with a table and there's nobody there. Several months ago,
00:04:02.860 he was claiming that forever Canadian petition leader says some Albertans are afraid to sign
00:04:07.260 because of backlash from the United Conservative Party. You were already making excuses then.
00:04:13.260 This is a joke. Mr. LeCasic is what's known as a blatherskite. Great word. Look it up. 1.00
00:04:23.420 This is embarrassing and you should be embarrassed. Meanwhile, the Alberta Prosperity Project has a
00:04:29.900 question that's being held up in court. Now, this would actually have an effect on Canada.
00:04:33.980 It's a constitutional question. Do you agree that the province of Alberta shall become a sovereign
00:04:38.780 country and cease to be a province of Canada? Yes, I wholeheartedly believe that.
00:04:45.900 Go over to the Alberta Prosperity Project website. Register your intent to submit,
00:04:51.420 yes, supporting Alberta independence. There's like 400,000 people who have already done this.
00:04:56.860 Go over there and do that right now. Okay? Link in the description.
00:05:02.220 Meanwhile, just a reminder that coming up on October 25th at the Alberta Legislature in Edmonton from
00:05:11.500 4 to 6 p.m., we want you to be there. You need to be there if you want Alberta independence.
00:05:17.580 Be sure to schedule it into your agenda. Be at the independence rally there. Now, what else we need
00:05:24.460 you to do is take your phone. You probably have one. Record yourself saying you're going to be there.
00:05:30.860 Encourage people to be there as well. And then tag it with I am Alberta. Hashtag I am Alberta. I want to see you there. I will be there. I'm going to bring along my big blue mug as well.
00:05:44.860 And I hope to shake your hand. Again, October 25th, 4 to 6 p.m., Alberta Legislature, Edmonton, Alberta at the independence rally.
