John Bolton - Free speech - Is it about to end in Canada？

00:00:00.000 Hi, it's John and welcome to the channel, 7.30 a.m. Tuesday, July the 29th. I hope you're

00:00:10.480 having a great start to your Tuesday morning. I've got my big blue mug of coffee. Looking

00:00:14.420 forward to grabbing another one in just a few minutes. I want to make this one quick

00:00:17.980 today. I'm concerned about something that's been bubbling under over the last week or so.

00:00:22.260 As a matter of fact, I did a video on it maybe Saturday or Friday last week and talked a little

00:00:26.180 bit about this, but it's really concerning me now. I worry about things. Do you worry about

00:00:31.780 things? I worry about worrying about things in this country. It's like everything is compounded

00:00:36.660 all the time. So many, just so many things are just so aggravating. Before we get to freedom of

00:00:44.260 speech, just quickly, yesterday I go out with my mother-in-law. She's 89 years old. We moved her

00:00:49.620 here from British Columbia a few years ago because she couldn't afford to live there. And we went out

00:00:53.680 to Walmart to pick up a few things, a few groceries. She's independent on a limited budget. And we're

00:00:59.960 in the car driving. And as I'm going back to her place, she says to me, why did it cost so much?

00:01:05.880 We bought two small bags of groceries. It was $89. Why does it cost so much? It's ridiculous.

00:01:12.560 It's getting to the point where she might not be able to live on her own anymore. 0.90

00:01:15.400 I don't think the Liberals are going to solve that problem. I think some big problems will be

00:01:23.000 solved eventually. The tariff issue, that'll be in our rearview mirror before very long. I don't

00:01:28.320 think it'll be in Canada's favor. But there are two, there are big things. But there are things that

00:01:32.620 are coming that were promised by Carney that I'm concerned about. He's going to fund the CBC,

00:01:37.120 his propaganda wing, and entrench that in law. It bugs me. That's coming.

00:01:40.760 He has said, said during the campaign, that social media information coming across the border from

00:01:48.360 the United States is pollution. His government's going to do something about it. He's going to clamp

00:01:52.820 down on speech. You look at this quote right here, if the freedom of speech is taken away,

00:02:00.760 then dumb and silent, we may be led like sheep to the slaughter, George Washington. That's one of 0.95

00:02:04.860 the quotes that I have that I save. I save quotes. I like quotes. I like quotes from the founders,

00:02:09.200 from Americans. They've said great things, something to believe in right there. But this

00:02:13.620 Sean Foy situation, this Christian singer from the United States is something we need to look at

00:02:20.860 from the big picture. This isn't just a small story. This is a big issue.

00:02:27.700 Here's an article here from City News. Alberta NDP asking UCP government not to allow pro-Trump

00:02:33.560 Christian singer to perform at legislature. Well, of course they are. Because he has,

00:02:38.980 beliefs that they don't, so he has to be silenced. And you might not agree with everything Mr. Foyt

00:02:46.960 says, but I agree with some of the things he says. Are they going to silence me for saying them? How

00:02:52.540 about you? I worry about other people who are creators online, who have much bigger audiences

00:02:58.320 than I do. Just a little bit from the story. And it's how they cloak their righteousness

00:03:07.320 to get him canceled.

00:03:10.660 Quote, other jurisdictions have denied or revoked permits for Sean Foyt's events in public spaces.

00:03:17.720 The UCP government should do the same. Unquote. Said David Shepard, the Alberta NDP house leader.

00:03:22.640 Quote, the government has a responsibility to ensure that public spaces like the Alberta

00:03:26.880 legislature grounds uphold the principles of inclusion and belonging for everyone. Platforming

00:03:32.700 a performer who has expressed hateful views is an inappropriate use of that space. Unquote.

00:03:39.820 Inclusion to the left is anything that they believe in. They don't want to include you if

00:03:43.860 you've got different beliefs. And of course, they'll decide what is and what is not hateful

00:03:49.720 views. Mr. Foyt, here in this tweet, dear Alberta, is one of your elected senators really trying to

00:03:57.840 cancel worship to God in your province. I don't blame Mr. Foyt for not understanding that we don't

00:04:01.840 elect senators in Canada. It's pretty screwed up. But we do elect senators in Alberta. And some of 0.97

00:04:09.180 them become senators. They are appointed by conservative prime ministers. But when there's

00:04:16.320 not a conservative prime minister, they do not choose Alberta's elected senators. Just like Dr.

00:04:22.960 Christopher Wells, who is an Alberta senator, he's a far left nutcase, calls himself an independent.

00:04:30.540 Justin Trudeau chose him to be a senator. This concert, scare quotes, should not be allowed to

00:04:36.500 be held at any public owned facility, let alone the Alberta legislature. Pull the permit like other

00:04:40.880 cities have done. There should be no space for hate on any public property. The arbiters of hate

00:04:46.860 are the left. If you disagree with them, you're hateful and you need to be silenced.

00:04:55.220 A little bit more from this article. The Christian singer describes himself as a musician, missionary,

00:04:59.860 author, and activist. He's spoken out against gender ideology, scare quotes, abortion, and the LGBTQ

00:05:07.040 plus community. And his religious and political views have grabbed the attention of the Trump

00:05:11.960 administration. I mean, there's certainly discrimination here based on his religion.

00:05:15.580 You can't be a Christian in this country for God's sakes. And certainly you can't sing about it in 1.00

00:05:20.180 public and have different views. And this is a political persecution as well because he likes

00:05:25.040 Donald Trump. They refer to him as a MAGA Christian singer because he supports Donald Trump. He has a

00:05:33.120 right to that opinion as well. As far as LGBTQ stuff, he believes marriage is between a man and a

00:05:38.180 woman. Lots of people believe that. Lots of religions believe that. Mark Carney's religion,

00:05:42.180 Catholic believes that. As do Muslim groups, as do some Jewish groups, as a lot of Canadians

00:05:48.600 believe. You have a right to that opinion, whether it's right or not. You can determine that. That's

00:05:55.040 your choice. As far as abortion goes, well, get people on both sides of that issue. And regarding the

00:06:00.760 gender ideology thing, I don't have to get into it, but I agree with him on that as well.

00:06:05.180 Bill C-63, it's coming back, folks. Here's the stuff that bothers me in here. They cloak this in

00:06:15.560 helping children, but they add the content that foments hatred. This is an overview of the bill,

00:06:20.160 the Online Harms Act. Content that foments hatred. Because of those words, those four words I would

00:06:26.120 vote against this bill, the liberals would say, you don't want to protect children, and that's what's

00:06:30.100 going to happen if this goes up to a vote. But it's the content that foments hatred. What is that?

00:06:35.960 Who determines what is and what is not hate? I'm an absolutist when it comes to speech. You should be

00:06:42.660 able to say anything you want, as long as you're not threatening somebody with violence or a group

00:06:49.480 with violence. And we have laws against all these things that are in this bill that protects children

00:06:55.180 already. I'm really worried about this. I'm terribly worried. Here's another quote for you.

00:07:02.520 They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve

00:07:06.200 neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin. Your liberty is written into the Charter of Rights

00:07:11.000 and Freedoms, which isn't worth the paper it's written on because of Section 1. But liberty

00:07:14.780 is in there. Part of your liberty is your freedom of speech. Freedom of assembly is in there as well.

00:07:21.460 Government can take away your rights to freedom of speech, just like they take away the right to

00:07:26.040 freedom of assembly. How do I know they can do that? Because there's a couple of people

00:07:30.540 who are likely to spend seven and eight years in jail for mischief because they have the audacity to

00:07:39.300 assemble and disagree with their government. And you know who I'm talking about. This is a great

00:07:45.840 concern to me. Meanwhile, the Streisand effect, which I described the other day, if you don't know

00:07:52.180 what it is, look it up. The Streisand effect is in full effect, folks. Sean Foyt's tour draws huge

00:07:58.680 crowds despite fines and woke pushback. He had six concerts planned. I think most of them are canceled,

00:08:04.900 but he's adding new dates all the time because people want to hear what he has to say. And they're

00:08:09.520 now aware of him. If the left had just shut their mouths, this never would have happened. But I'm

00:08:15.200 concerned. Tell me what you think in the comments. If you like the video, give me a thumbs up. Subscribe

00:08:20.580 to the channel. Ring the bell for notifications. I've got things to do today. You probably do as

00:08:25.460 well. Enjoy the rest of your day. I'll see you in the next one.
