00:00:00.000 Hi, it's John and welcome to the channel 510 AM. It is Friday, July the 17th. I hope you're
00:00:08.580 having a great start to your Friday. I appreciate you being here with the big blue mug of coffee.
00:00:13.340 And I'm not going to beat around the bush this morning. I woke up this morning and I was thinking
00:00:19.080 about a quote after reading an article in the National Post. And many of you know, I like
00:00:25.660 quotes. I keep quotes. I have an app in my Mac book with lots of quotes in there. I like to
00:00:29.860 refer to them. You can learn a lot from a few lines from a quote. And this is the quote I was
00:00:35.640 thinking about. Now, when I bring it up on the screen, take a look at it. Where does this come
00:00:39.160 from? A little trivia question for you this morning. I probably said this a thousand times
00:00:44.080 or more, and I'm not exaggerating. In my 61 years, and since I first heard this, I've said this,
00:00:52.020 sung this thousands of times, I'm sure. And then one day you'll find 10 years have got behind you.
00:00:59.020 no one told you when to run. You missed the starting gun. Now, many of you instantly read
00:01:04.080 that quote and knew it was time from Pink Floyd, from the dark side of the moon. I even pulled out
00:01:09.240 my records. You know, I've got the CD in the other room, couldn't find it, first CD I ever bought.
00:01:13.960 I bought this in the late 70s, early 80s. This one has the posters in it, but if you look at the
00:01:20.560 posters, you can see where I had these taped on my bedroom wall when I was in high school.
00:01:25.600 And then I had to buy another copy because I wore it out.
00:01:27.640 Still have the posters, I think, in this one, if I remember correctly.
00:01:30.840 Yeah, the posters, pristine in this one.
00:01:33.420 No stickers.
00:01:34.360 They used to give you stickers.
00:01:35.780 And I remember putting the stickers on milk crates,
00:01:38.060 which I used to keep my records in a long time ago
00:01:41.020 because records fit perfectly in milk crates.
00:01:44.500 They actually changed the size of milk crates
00:01:46.720 because people used to steal them to put records in.
00:01:50.860 Okay, so anyway, we'll get away from the records here.
00:01:54.200 But this is a quote that I thought about when I read this article this morning.
00:01:59.220 Carney defends new pipeline in face of questions over wildfires and climate.
00:02:03.140 You see, there are some wildfires out east.
00:02:05.140 I think Minnesota's got some, Ontario.
00:02:07.220 It's smoky in Toronto.
00:02:08.620 So the regular climate zealots roll out the media and they blame all of the wildfires and the smoke on climate change.
00:02:16.820 Most wildfires are caused by either humans, they light them by accident or on purpose.
00:02:22.440 people do do that, and lightning. This is a natural thing. We have it happen out here in
00:02:27.400 Alberta. As soon as the temperature rises, though, you got to start blaming oil and gas for this.
00:02:32.120 And the fractured logic of the climate zealots is if we just stop burning oil and gas, all the
00:02:36.820 wildfires will stop. That's what they think. Now, people think that Carney has changed his spots
00:02:43.120 when it comes to climate because he's talking about building new pipelines. But what he's
00:02:47.240 really doing is changing the narrative. But if we go back to our quote from Pink Floyd,
00:02:52.220 and then one day you'll find 10 years have got behind you. That's the thing that the liberals
00:02:57.840 are never held to account about. You see, they missed the starting gun, even though they were
00:03:04.440 told years ago, we need to be developing our natural resources. If you go on in this story,
00:03:10.140 you'll find out why Mark Carney is talking about pipelines right now. And I'm not going to read a
00:03:14.120 lot of it to you. All right. And you need to remember that Canada has spent $200 billion
00:03:20.320 fighting climate change and it's done nothing. And we have lost a trillion dollars in investment
00:03:28.820 over the last 10 to 11 years. And climate change is a big reason why that's happened.
00:03:34.300 $200 billion almost in Alberta has been lost in oil and gas because of the climate zealots in
00:03:39.840 Liberal Party and the Canadian government and Ottawa. With U.S. tariffs undermining the Canadian
00:03:44.680 economy and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and the Middle East, disrupting the global supply
00:03:49.220 of oil, the Canadian government is now focused on its goal of supplying more reliable energies to
00:03:53.780 the world. They missed the starting gun. Ten years have got behind us. Do you ever realize how long
00:03:59.520 it's going to take to get an oil pipeline up? I mentioned it the other day. The most optimistic
00:04:04.480 estimate is six years, and it's likely going to be a lot longer than that. By the time we get the
00:04:09.680 pipeline in the ground, Strait of Hormuz will no longer be an issue. There might be a glut of oil
00:04:15.340 in the world out there from other countries that develop it. Yet we have missed 10 years and nobody
00:04:21.820 saying the Liberal Party, shame on you, and held them to account for what they've done. Has Mark
00:04:26.740 Carney changed from what he said just a little over a year ago? Now, so far, carbon prices have
00:04:33.560 been applied sparingly. They've been set far too low. A relentless focus on net zero is called the
00:04:38.480 Glasgow Financial Alliance for net zero for a reason. Because we've moved to the relentless
00:04:44.100 logic of having to get emissions down consistent with the carbon budget. So we can't meet our
00:04:51.560 ultimate objectives, which is to get to net zero. Mark my words, Mark Carney is still that person.
00:04:58.620 He's just changing the way he approaches this. And it is criminal what the Liberal Party and
00:05:06.500 Justin Trudeau and Mark Carney did to this country over 10 years. They allowed 10 years
00:05:11.080 to get behind us. We told them back then, build pipelines, but they missed the starting gun.
00:05:18.380 And it's going to be probably 10 years before a pipeline gets online. It's too late almost,
00:05:24.480 but nobody's held to account. You know, I'm still waiting to find out what happened to the
00:05:29.860 Green Slush Fund. Remember when this was a thing? Was it $400 million because of global warming 0.92
00:05:36.140 of climate change that went directly in the pockets of liberal insiders? What happened to that?
00:05:41.880 $400 million a year tax dollars. Let's just add it all up, folks. $200 billion on a climate scheme,
00:05:49.180 trillion dollars in lost investment in Canada, about $200 billion in Alberta. Gets pretty
00:05:54.220 expensive, not counting the money you've had to pay in carbon taxes over the year.
00:05:59.460 We'll go back to this article. Let me read a little bit more of it to you.
00:06:02.600 asked this is the proof that carney's the same person asked by a reporter on thursday
00:06:08.840 what he would say to canadians who believe the current wildfires are a sign canada should
00:06:13.200 lean in to its climate targets rather than dropping them carney said i absolutely agree
00:06:19.300 so he's still the same person we the government view leaning in is actually putting the investment
00:06:24.360 in the ground which they're going to do with carbon capture which is burying money in the
00:06:29.260 around $30 billion, your money, that's going to achieve those climate targets. Carney also
00:06:35.180 mentions his government's recent electricity strategy, which aims to double the capacity of
00:06:40.240 the current grid by 2050 to meet projected demand. The government has said this will help supply
00:06:45.600 clean and affordable power for decades. It's action, not prohibition, that is most important
00:06:50.900 to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, said Carney in French. And I've talked about this before.
00:06:55.400 here's his National Electricity Strategy, which talks about clean energy 25 times in just a few
00:07:01.820 paragraphs. Now, who is Mark Carney? What are these people all about? He's the same person.
00:07:08.940 He's still Mr. Net Zero. We're not going to get any pipelines. Don't need to go into that. But
00:07:13.980 Mark Carney's the guy who talks about climate change and how we have to bring down our emissions.
00:07:19.660 Meanwhile, he's been traveling all over the world. He's been out of the country, I think,
00:07:24.320 more than he's been in it since he became prime minister, and he runs up $160,000 in in-flight
00:07:29.880 menu at your cost, flying around in a giant carbon-spreading jet. And that's who these
00:07:36.420 people are. I mean, there's this from Mark Zuckerberg. Mark Zuckerberg, an outspoken
00:07:43.340 critic of man-made climate change, shows off his new $300 million, 287-foot megayacht powered by 0.79
00:07:53.020 four gigantic diesel engines yet another stark reminder that net zero is only for the peasants
00:08:00.180 that's who these people are there's another um another quote i'd like to bring to your attention
00:08:07.060 and here's the quote right here climate change is about people who live large telling the rest of us
00:08:15.580 how to live small and that's who mark carney is that's mark zuckerberg leonardo dicaprio
00:08:21.580 Al Gore, they live large, they tell us how we have to live small. Who said this? I did.
00:08:31.460 Thank you very much for watching. If you like this video, give it a thumbs up,
