John Bolton - Humbled & Blessed - Friends in Alberta Independence - What a day!

00:00:00.000 Hi, it's John and welcome to the channel 205 in the afternoon, Sunday, October the 26th.

00:00:08.660 I hope you're having a great Sunday afternoon and a wonderful weekend.

00:00:12.540 I do have my big blue mug of coffee.

00:00:14.260 I just poured a new mug for myself.

00:00:16.420 Just had a little bit of a nap.

00:00:17.460 Didn't get a lot of sleep last night, despite the fact that it was absolutely wiped out

00:00:21.280 after the I am Alberta rally for independence in Edmonton at the legislature yesterday,

00:00:25.540 which was just, well, I guess I could say today I'm kind of basking in the glow.

00:00:29.160 It was remarkable.

00:00:30.380 Now, as you know, very often when I'm talking about independence in Alberta, I wear this hat.

00:00:35.900 I bought this hat, well, going on seven years ago, my Wexit hat, but I got this one yesterday.

00:00:40.440 Check this one out.

00:00:41.520 What do you think of that, eh?

00:00:43.020 Yeah, Republic of Alberta now.

00:00:44.980 So I think I'm going to wear this one a heck of a lot more often.

00:00:46.920 And I was saying to people yesterday, when I saw all the flags, and there were a lot of flags waving,

00:00:51.780 isn't this the most beautiful color of blue?

00:00:53.920 And isn't the Alberta flag just the best flag in this whole country?

00:00:58.220 It's the best flag in the world, and yesterday we proved it.

00:01:02.660 What a remarkable day it was.

00:01:06.220 First off, I want to say hello to all the people who came up to shake my hand.

00:01:11.040 I'm just overwhelmed and stunned at how many people recognize me when I walk through a crowd.

00:01:17.860 It's really remarkable.

00:01:19.780 You know, when I was in radio a long time ago, you know, being on the radio kind of stroked your ego.

00:01:24.280 I'm not that way anymore.

00:01:25.620 I'm certainly not that way anymore.

00:01:26.940 You can ask my wife.

00:01:28.060 She didn't like me when she first met me because I had a big ego.

00:01:30.600 I don't have that anymore.

00:01:31.780 I really don't do a YouTube channel to get subscriptions.

00:01:36.060 You know, I really don't.

00:01:36.940 I just do it for fun, and I hope I can entertain some people, and they get educated, and I can interact with you as well.

00:01:43.040 But yesterday, the interaction was outstanding.

00:01:45.000 I had a few people come up to me and say, John, I heard you say you were a little bit nervous about this day.

00:01:50.540 When you're MCing an event, you're not really the star.

00:01:53.640 You know, you just kind of make sure everything moves along.

00:01:56.040 It's as smoothly as possible.

00:01:57.560 And yesterday went real smooth, and people said, John, you know, there was no reason to be nervous.

00:02:02.540 And you're damn right I didn't need to be nervous because I was among friends yesterday.

00:02:06.380 It was an incredible atmosphere.

00:02:09.280 Again, thanks for coming up and shaking my hand.

00:02:11.540 Now, check this out.

00:02:12.760 I've got this cool hat, but I had Bill come up to me, and he gave me this.

00:02:17.220 And this was at the end of the day, and this was kind of like the cherry on the top of the sundae.

00:02:21.160 This is metal.

00:02:22.800 So I'm going to find – I've got to get one of those flags they had and put it on my wall back there, the Alberta flag.

00:02:28.800 I'm going to put this up as well.

00:02:29.900 So, Bill, thanks for this.

00:02:30.860 I did appreciate it.

00:02:32.120 The love was there yesterday.

00:02:33.580 Everybody had a great day, and there was so much positivity going on.

00:02:38.340 I want to thank the Alberta Prosperity Project.

00:02:40.460 Mitch Sylvester, thank you so much for asking me to do this.

00:02:43.320 I'm just – there are a lot of other people, I guess you could say, on YouTube that have larger channels than me.

00:02:48.720 I have interviewed some of the big heavyweights when it comes to the Alberta Prosperity Project, some of them twice.

00:02:55.320 Mitch Sylvester, the CEO.

00:02:56.860 Dr. Dennis Modry has been on here with me as well.

00:02:59.140 I've had Jeff Rath on my channel.

00:03:01.460 I'm going to have Keith Wilson on.

00:03:03.160 I'm hoping to set up an interview with him this week.

00:03:05.640 He was one of the speakers yesterday.

00:03:07.060 I hope, in a way, my channel is helping spread the message about Alberta independence.

00:03:11.780 I did have a woman come up to me yesterday and say, 1.00

00:03:13.980 John, I got on a bus, and I heard about this event, and I was able to come here because you told us there was a bus.

00:03:20.720 And, boy, did we have buses.

00:03:21.980 We had about 500 to 600 people show up on buses yesterday.

00:03:25.100 And I'll bet, if we do another one of these, and I think we should in the spring, we double up the buses at least.

00:03:31.360 It was an incredible day, and thanks to everybody at the Alberta Prosperity Project.

00:03:36.360 Thanks to all the volunteers who made it happen.

00:03:39.340 I just want to show you some pictures here.

00:03:41.020 And I want to address something that Derek, from Unacceptable Fringe, addressed this morning.

00:03:46.760 I got to meet Derek.

00:03:48.440 I got to meet Mr. Fringe yesterday.

00:03:51.400 It was a real joy to meet him.

00:03:54.120 We stood on stage together.

00:03:55.420 I have to say his speech was outstanding.

00:03:58.280 It was outstanding.

00:03:59.240 Let me just talk about some of the people who spoke before.

00:04:02.100 I chatted about—Derek did a video on this.

00:04:05.300 I'll put a link in the description.

00:04:06.680 The Fringe put a video about this today, about people who are poo-pooing the number of people that were there.

00:04:12.920 So I'll talk about that in just a second.

00:04:15.160 Dennis Modry, Dr. Dennis Modry.

00:04:16.980 Tanya Clemens, who I'd never met before, was just terrific yesterday.

00:04:20.400 Of course, Keith Wilson spoke.

00:04:22.220 Chris Scott from the Whistle Stop Cafe was there.

00:04:25.280 Of course, Mitch Sylvester, Jeff Rath, all speakers yesterday.

00:04:28.360 All terrific, along with the Unacceptable Fringe.

00:04:30.880 And I think I got the best picture of the day, and this is it right here.

00:04:34.340 Pretty cool, eh?

00:04:35.700 I was on stage when I did this.

00:04:37.120 Let me just show you.

00:04:37.860 I thought I was being a little bit self-indulgent when I did this yesterday. 0.87

00:04:44.000 But damn, am I glad I took the second to take this picture. 0.89

00:04:47.400 Check this out. 0.98

00:04:47.900 I just have to do this.

00:04:49.240 I hope you don't mind.

00:04:50.260 But I really want to get a picture of all of you with me.

00:05:00.180 Everybody smile.

00:05:01.540 And there you go.

00:05:09.240 There's the picture I took.

00:05:10.300 I'm so glad I did that yesterday.

00:05:11.920 I'm so thrilled.

00:05:13.240 And I'm going to have this.

00:05:14.060 I might get this one put on my wall because it was a remarkable day.

00:05:17.400 Now, what I want you to take a look at here is way back here.

00:05:21.280 And Derek mentioned this this morning.

00:05:22.740 You see this bridge way back here on the legislature.

00:05:26.260 There's a big Alberta flag right there.

00:05:27.680 And this was filled right from the front of the stage all the way to the back.

00:05:32.260 There was a pool right in here.

00:05:33.520 They were in there as well.

00:05:34.640 So this was totally filled right up.

00:05:37.920 Now, I want to show you.

00:05:38.760 This is kind of a...

00:05:41.740 Well, it doesn't really give you a good perspective on how much space there is from the stage all the way back to this bridge.

00:05:46.940 I want to show you.

00:05:47.580 This is a video I took about 45 minutes prior to people really showing up.

00:05:52.340 There were a lot of people there already, but they really, really piled in as we got closer to 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon.

00:05:57.500 So I'm going to show you a little bit of this, and you can get an idea of how much space is out there and how much was filled.

00:06:04.220 Okay?

00:06:04.940 So here's that bridge right there.

00:06:06.440 You can see it in the background.

00:06:07.640 That's the bridge those people are standing on.

00:06:09.480 So all this area here.

00:06:11.380 And then I go for a walk.

00:06:12.540 And again, this is 45 minutes prior to the event.

00:06:26.100 The buses hadn't shown up yet with more than 500 people on them.

00:06:29.820 And all the space around was filled up as well.

00:06:33.880 Hey, how are you doing?

00:06:35.700 Thank you.

00:06:36.480 Thank you.

00:06:37.380 Yeah, see, people recognize me.

00:06:38.820 It just stuns me.

00:06:39.660 Nice to meet you as well.

00:06:40.660 Thank you.

00:06:40.940 And if I didn't get a chance to shake your hand yesterday, I apologize.

00:06:43.720 I was kind of torn in different directions yesterday, so I apologize for that.

00:06:48.880 All the space on the side there filled up.

00:06:50.660 That pool filled up pretty much.

00:06:54.380 Love you, John.

00:06:55.600 Thank you.

00:06:56.580 Thank you.

00:06:59.180 And the flags, just unbelievable.

00:07:01.080 I'll show you some pictures I took.

00:07:02.160 The flags, a sea of blue flags.

00:07:03.640 Got to get one of them.

00:07:04.380 It's got to go on that wall over there.

00:07:05.860 I got to put one up there.

00:07:06.660 I'm going to get rid of Billy Joel.

00:07:07.740 Sorry, Billy.

00:07:10.280 So all this area was filled.

00:07:12.160 All of it.

00:07:13.340 All the green space.

00:07:14.220 They were way over here on each side, flanking the stage.

00:07:17.860 It was just unbelievable.

00:07:20.000 I tweeted this out.

00:07:22.540 My wife's idea, by the way.

00:07:24.480 We were coming back.

00:07:25.640 I tweeted this out.

00:07:26.520 Hey, Danielle Smith, we dropped by your place today, but you weren't home.

00:07:30.340 Sorry, we missed you with that picture.

00:07:34.080 Wow.

00:07:35.460 Some more pictures.

00:07:36.500 There's the fringe right there.

00:07:37.640 Got to picture him standing in front of the crowd.

00:07:41.620 And there's the crowd right there.

00:07:43.160 Look at the flags.

00:07:43.740 There were more of them that showed up.

00:07:45.140 They were selling them down the road here.

00:07:47.100 I don't think they could sell this stuff on the legislature ground,

00:07:49.380 so they had them down here.

00:07:50.280 I went out there earlier in the day when I got this ad,

00:07:52.720 and they were lined up to buy all of the Freedom Merchandises, they called it.

00:07:58.060 There you go.

00:07:58.620 Look at that, eh?

00:08:00.400 Look at this.

00:08:01.300 It was just outstanding.

00:08:03.560 Absolutely outstanding.

00:08:04.860 What a day we had yesterday.

00:08:06.300 And I didn't want it to end.

00:08:09.180 I want to have another one of these, and I think we're going to have another one.

00:08:11.800 We have to have one in the spring.

00:08:13.040 Now, I did get some...

00:08:14.980 There were some great messages yesterday.

00:08:18.540 I'm going to get to them.

00:08:19.280 Keith Wilson, as much as everybody had wonderful speeches,

00:08:24.580 Keith Wilson said something yesterday that really stuck with me.

00:08:27.600 And Jeff Rath as well, who kind of was the bookend of the day,

00:08:31.120 he was the last person to speak, said something as well.

00:08:33.260 I had an opportunity while I was on stage to do this,

00:08:36.740 and I saw a lot of people tweeting this one out, including Jeff Rath.

00:08:41.780 In fact, you might see him in the background just on the screen here

00:08:46.220 to the left of me with his camera up.

00:08:48.460 He tweeted this out as I was driving home.

00:08:51.080 My wife was driving me home last night. 0.77

00:08:52.480 I was so tired I couldn't keep my eyes open.

00:08:54.800 I saw him tweet out this moment at the rally yesterday.

00:08:58.300 I think we need to bring everybody together here,

00:09:00.640 so why don't we do it all together and yell it as loud as possible

00:09:04.520 because we want this.

00:09:06.060 Get your cameras going, folks.

00:09:08.160 We want this to...

00:09:09.440 There's Jeff Rath right there with his camera up.

00:09:12.220 ...go viral.

00:09:13.400 So, are you ready, guys?

00:09:16.600 One, two, three.

00:09:19.120 I am Florida!

00:09:21.960 Again!

00:09:23.200 I am Florida!

00:09:25.220 What a great day.

00:09:34.900 There were lots of chants.

00:09:36.580 Fringe got them yelling freedom yesterday.

00:09:38.780 We had Mitch Sylvester yelling, let's go.

00:09:41.640 The thing that really stuck with me yesterday was something Keith Wilson said.

00:09:44.600 The lawyer, again, I'm hoping to have Keith on with me this week.

00:09:46.880 I'm going to send out an email to him.

00:09:48.760 We've been back and forth, and he has some time this week,

00:09:51.220 and I want to chat with him.

00:09:52.160 Kind of a follow-up to this, which I think will be nice,

00:09:54.860 but this is something that Keith said.

00:09:56.180 So, those of you who are waiting for the independence movement

00:09:59.300 and waiting for your chance to vote,

00:10:01.600 it seems like it's a hurry-up-and-wait thing.

00:10:03.900 We're waiting for this to go through the court.

00:10:06.080 Keith talked about that a lot in his speech yesterday.

00:10:09.840 If you want to see the whole thing,

00:10:11.200 lots of people were streaming yesterday.

00:10:13.200 I want to say hi to Max from Freedom Calendar.

00:10:15.640 I'll put a link in the description so you can watch the whole thing if you missed it.

00:10:18.800 You can hear what everybody said and kind of take in the buzz that we had yesterday.

00:10:22.840 But this is what Keith said yesterday that really brought some optimism to the crowd.

00:10:27.280 But I'm confident that no matter what happens in that process,

00:10:31.920 and this is critically important,

00:10:34.340 that next year, whether it's in the spring or the fall,

00:10:38.660 there will be a province-wide referendum.

00:10:41.300 So, that's good news.

00:10:46.140 Keith obviously working on this.

00:10:48.280 Eva Chapiuk and Jeff Rath working on this issue they're going through the courts with.

00:10:52.920 They say we're going to have a referendum next year.

00:10:58.080 And I've spoken to some of the other members of the Alberta Prosperity Project,

00:11:01.720 and they want to know what Danielle Smith is waiting for.

00:11:03.640 We have the opportunity to do this.

00:11:05.080 If she really wants or believes that we have a right to a vote,

00:11:09.520 then we should have a right to vote in this province.

00:11:11.780 I want to end this, for the most part, with Jeff Rath.

00:11:14.040 I have something else to say here.

00:11:15.540 But here's Jeff last night really opening up his speech,

00:11:20.300 and this really struck a chord with the crowd as well.

00:11:23.420 I want to tell every one of you that's here today,

00:11:26.280 I have never been so proud to be an Albertan.

00:11:29.860 I look out across that sea of blue flags,

00:11:36.320 and I see that today, going forward,

00:11:39.420 should be known, October 25th, as Alberta Independence Day.

00:11:46.640 You're damn right it should.

00:11:49.500 When he said that yesterday, I thought, you know,

00:11:51.900 in the future, when we are an independent country,

00:11:55.040 what day should we choose as Independence Day?

00:11:56.780 Why not this day?

00:11:57.640 Why not the 25th of October?

00:12:00.760 And it makes absolutely perfect sense.

00:12:02.680 So well done, Jeff.

00:12:03.460 Well done to all the speakers once again.

00:12:05.840 You know, you see Jeff standing here.

00:12:07.800 I did a video earlier this morning.

00:12:09.680 You might want to check it out.

00:12:10.580 Little bits and pieces and snippets of everybody talking yesterday.

00:12:14.880 They were all terrific,

00:12:16.240 and we thank them for being out yesterday to talk to the crowd.

00:12:20.560 But there's three of them that you see most often.

00:12:24.180 Dr. Dennis Modry, one of the founders of the Alberta Prosperity Project,

00:12:29.260 CEO Mitch Sylvester, and of course, Jeff out there,

00:12:33.440 man with a big voice, big man, big hat, big man,

00:12:37.480 and such a presence out there.

00:12:39.440 People are waiting for everybody to talk yesterday.

00:12:41.720 But Mitch, Jeff, and Dr. Modry,

00:12:44.780 they're out there all the time, folks.

00:12:46.620 I said that at the beginning.

00:12:48.320 We need to thank them.

00:12:50.200 They don't get paid for this, despite what Jason Kenney says.

00:12:53.140 They're not getting paid, folks.

00:12:55.700 They're out there on their own time because they believe in this.

00:12:58.460 And a message I heard yesterday from a lot of the speakers,

00:13:02.020 they may not have focused in on it,

00:13:04.840 but definitely Mitch Sylvester spoke about it,

00:13:08.660 is give some of your time to this movement.

00:13:12.140 Those people showing up yesterday,

00:13:13.660 up to 20,000 people were there.

00:13:15.400 If they all gave 10 hours their time over the next year,

00:13:19.360 we would win this thing.

00:13:20.700 So if you're part of the independence movement,

00:13:22.580 do something to move this movement forward, so to speak.

00:13:29.220 So volunteer a bit of your time and help out if you can.

00:13:32.280 Again, I come on here, I interview these people.

00:13:35.340 My videos are seen by tens of thousands of people,

00:13:38.000 even more in some cases.

00:13:39.860 And the message is spreading and it's getting bigger.

00:13:42.420 And this is outstanding what happened yesterday.

00:13:44.860 I just felt so honored to be part of it.

00:13:47.680 I just want to make sure you go over to the Alberta Prosperity Project website

00:13:51.580 and submit yes supporting Alberta independence if you haven't already done that.

00:13:58.180 Also, check out some of their events.

00:13:59.980 And here's the amazing thing about this.

00:14:01.400 You can see the I Am Alberta rally is still on here.

00:14:04.260 There's a chapter meeting tomorrow night.

00:14:06.680 I believe, yeah, Corey Morgan and Tanya Clemens will be there.

00:14:09.100 Corey, I spoke with Corey last week.

00:14:11.400 He really wanted to be there yesterday.

00:14:12.860 I know he did.

00:14:14.060 And I would have loved to hear Corey speak because he's one of the guys who's been on

00:14:17.360 the front lines of the independence movement.

00:14:18.860 He wrote a book on this, The Sovereignty's Handbook.

00:14:21.820 And then right here, you've got them back out on the 28th, 29th, 3rd, 4th.

00:14:26.500 This is happening every week, 4, 5 different events every week, speaking to 100, 200, 300

00:14:32.200 people.

00:14:32.700 This is what Mitch Sylvester, Dennis Modry, Jeff Rath, and others are doing on a weekly

00:14:36.620 basis.

00:14:37.400 So volunteer your time.

00:14:38.960 And if you can, donate to this cause because somewhere along the line, we're going to get

00:14:43.540 a referendum and we're going to have to start advertising to get people on our side.

00:14:48.000 So if you can donate any money to the Alberta Prosperity Project, again, the people doing

00:14:51.920 this are not getting money.

00:14:54.100 The money will go right into the cause of Alberta independence.

00:15:03.420 I'm just sitting here trying to sum it all up from yesterday.

00:15:06.280 And all I can say was I was inspired.

00:15:08.540 And again, thanks to everybody who came up to say hi to me.

00:15:12.800 I wish I could have shaken everybody's hand yesterday.

00:15:15.360 And it felt like we were all friends, all 20,000 of us yesterday on the Alberta Legislature

00:15:21.880 steps.

00:15:22.940 Thanks very much for watching.

00:15:24.140 I do appreciate it.

00:15:25.040 If you like the video, give it a thumbs up, subscribe to the channel, ring the bell for

00:15:28.740 notifications, and I'll see you in the next one.

00:15:31.160 Oh, and by the way, I did interview a whole bunch of people yesterday prior to the event.

00:15:35.600 I'm going to have some of those interviews on another video in the upcoming week.

00:15:39.720 I'll see you in the next one.
