John Bolton - Independence Calendar (Episode #11) - February 15th, 2026

00:00:00.000 Hi, it's John and welcome to the Independence Calendar for Sunday, February 15th. This is

00:00:08.520 episode 11. It is great to have you here today. I do have my big blue mug of coffee as usual here

00:00:15.660 on the channel. I'm wearing my Wexit hat today. I have not worn this hat in a long time. I told

00:00:20.760 the story here before that I was at an Independence meeting here in North Calgary back in 2019 where

00:00:27.520 I bought this hat. Things have changed a lot since then, but there's a reason why I have the

00:00:32.200 Western Exit hat on today. I'll get to that in just a moment. So on the calendar today, we're going to

00:00:38.240 talk about how things are going so far and how we need to get the momentum going. Also, we'll talk

00:00:44.440 more about the petition signing places at stayfreealberta.com. Run through kind of a scroll

00:00:49.480 of different events and places where you can see speakers. If you haven't been out to an event

00:00:53.540 with a speaker, you'll want to do that. Also, I've been talking about a petition signing here

00:00:58.880 in Southeast Calgary I've been wanting to do. I've been talking about it for weeks. Got a plan.

00:01:04.820 Got an interesting idea. There's just something else we need before we can make it happen. I

00:01:09.420 appreciate all of you who have got in touch with me and say you want to help. Please be patient.

00:01:14.520 We've still got quite some time with the petition signing until May. So stay tuned. It's coming.

00:01:20.940 But again, one thing has to fall into place. More on that in just a moment. Also, I've got some

00:01:26.240 submissions today. Keep your submissions, your pictures, your videos, anything Alberta Independence

00:01:31.380 coming to me. You can send them to me at johnboltonab at gmail.com. johnboltonab at gmail.com.

00:01:39.480 I can't respond to all of them. I try to read all of them, but keep the pictures coming. And I've got a

00:01:45.660 great list today. In fact, I would say the submissions have gone to the dogs and cats

00:01:50.600 today. The cat one is particularly interesting to me. So stay tuned for that. And why am I wearing

00:01:56.740 the Wexit hat? I'm wearing the Wexit hat because independence is spreading across this country. If

00:02:02.920 you didn't know, you may know that Saskatchewan has an independence movement and you may have heard

00:02:07.600 that British Columbia does as well. I'll be talking to Michael Henshaw of the BC independence

00:02:13.020 movement. In fact, I chatted with him for a few minutes earlier this week. I'll have a segment

00:02:17.700 of that video for you at the end of this one. Now let's move on to petition signing places.

00:02:23.240 There are more than ever. If you want to find out where to go when it comes to a petition signing,

00:02:30.760 go to stayfreealberta.com because you can find out where to sign, become a canvasser. And I'm

00:02:36.280 continuing to get email at johnboltonab at gmail.com from people who say they can't get out to a

00:02:42.180 petition signing location. If you see on the screen right here, it says request to sign the

00:02:46.340 petition. Click on that, put your information into the form that's there and somebody will come

00:02:51.660 visit you. Okay. But as you can see, lots and lots of Alberta signing places right now.

00:02:57.360 And if you go here, you'll see every once in a while, you'll come across a red place and that's

00:03:02.560 where there's a speaker. Unfortunately, right now, because of elections, Alberta's rules,

00:03:06.980 there aren't as many speaking engagements. There's only so many things that Mick Sylvester

00:03:12.500 and Jeff Rath can do, but I'm going to put a scroll at the end as well at the different speaker

00:03:17.460 locations, because if you haven't been out to an event with a speaker, you're really missing out

00:03:21.560 and you'll want to go to that. Maybe even plan a little bit of a trip, go out for dinner,

00:03:25.460 travel a little bit across Alberta to see one of the speakers. Now let's take a look at a roll call

00:03:31.500 of some of the different events that are happening across the province. As promised,

00:03:34.860 some of the speaker locations. And I'd like to thank Joe this week for his song. Lots of people

00:03:40.400 sending me songs here, working on them with AI. It's remarkable what you can do today.

00:03:46.940 Joe created this song called Alberta Roars. That's the theme for this week's roll call

00:03:52.500 of petition signing places and events here in Alberta.

00:04:04.860 And I have searched and I have stumbled. I was lost. Now I'm found. It is this place.

00:04:28.400 It is these people. And what we can do knows no bounds. Alberta runs. Alberta climbs now.

00:04:48.940 Alberta flies. Alberta soars. Alberta dreams. Better than ever.

00:05:03.480 Thanks a lot to Joe for creating that incredible song. And remember, go to stayfreealberta.com if you

00:05:10.320 want any information about the independence movement, a petition signing place, how you can become a

00:05:15.080 canvasser. And if you want somebody to drop by and help you sign the petition. Now, something I want

00:05:20.200 to address here, I think is very important. We've seen a great amount of momentum going on over the

00:05:25.200 last month or so since the petition signing began. We saw all the lineups and all the events that were

00:05:30.280 happening across the province. You have to understand the people that were doing that were

00:05:33.920 highly motivated, 100% in when it came to independence. And as we've been saying here, and some of the

00:05:40.380 leaders of the independence movement have told me here on this channel, we've got the people, about 30%,

00:05:46.000 who are all in for independence. We can't have our minds changed. There's the people who don't want

00:05:51.340 it at all, maybe about 30%. It's the people in the mushy middle. We've got to get out to sign the

00:05:56.580 petition and eventually sign and click yes when it comes to we want to leave Canada, meaning the

00:06:02.340 province of Alberta. So right now, what we have to do is really buckle down, work harder to get those

00:06:08.080 people to sign the petition that haven't already gone out over the last month or so in the tens of

00:06:13.800 thousands to sign. So keep that in mind. So if you've got your badge when it comes to being a

00:06:19.060 canvasser, keep going out there. Every 5, 6, 10, 20 people that you sign up is just going to make our

00:06:25.580 movement stronger and we can keep the momentum going. Now what I want to do is I want to talk about

00:06:30.520 the event I want to do here in Southeast Calgary. I've been talking about this for a couple of weeks.

00:06:36.800 A few weeks ago, I said, get in touch with me if you want to help, but I want to help in the subject

00:06:41.480 matter. Send an email to me at johnboltonab at gmail.com and two to three dozen people did that.

00:06:48.280 I still want to do this event and this is the theme of it. The pop-up petition from a trunk event. Let

00:06:56.760 me get my face off the screen here so you can see that. I created this graphic the other day and as you

00:07:02.160 can see, I took the date off of it because I'm not sure exactly when we're going to have this. It

00:07:06.440 will be happening at the Auburn Bay Dog Walk Park which is a terrific place to do this. I took some

00:07:12.260 video when I went over there the other day. This is what it looks like at that area at 52nd Street

00:07:16.660 Southeast at Auburn Bay Drive and it's called a petition from a trunk event. The idea behind this

00:07:23.140 is that basically you just drive your car up. We want you to put maybe a tv tray or a small foldable

00:07:30.220 table into your trunk. Maybe bring a couple of chairs so you can bring a friend along with you

00:07:34.400 that we can put right behind your car. That means we don't have to have a big tent. If it's a little

00:07:38.720 cool you can get into your car to warm up. You really don't have to bring anything. Maybe bring

00:07:42.980 some snacks. Maybe bring yourself some hot cocoa or something like that. We'll provide the pens. We'll

00:07:48.680 provide the paperwork and we'll provide the coffee. We'll have a fun event that day. We can talk about

00:07:53.940 the independence movement and we can line the cars up where we can have people roll in to sign the

00:07:58.540 petition. A petition from a trunk event. Now why are we not doing this? Well unfortunately this has

00:08:04.300 become a bit of a problem. We've been very lucky here in Calgary over the last month or so where

00:08:09.260 we've had a Chinook roll through. The temperature has been very warm. Last weekend was incredibly warm.

00:08:14.500 It felt 15 up to 20 degrees at times but as you can see over the next week here is Sunday over the next

00:08:20.160 week the temperature is going to drop and next week it will be minus 10 Celsius and I don't know about

00:08:25.640 you. I don't want to be out signing a petition when it is minus 10. So we're going to have to watch

00:08:31.620 on a weekly basis from now on in for a good window of opportunity to do this event. Okay so hold tight

00:08:39.760 all right hold tight. Those of you who have got in touch with me who want to help we're going to do

00:08:45.800 this but we need the weather to well to help us out a little bit and it's going to get cold over the

00:08:52.420 next week. So now let's move along to your submissions. Keep them coming okay. johnboltonab at

00:08:57.820 gmail.com. I got about 200 email and as I keep saying I try to read all your email. I can't respond

00:09:03.720 to all of them. If I do respond it might be just a couple of words because I get so many in. But let's

00:09:08.820 take a look at your submissions. Now before I get into it I just want to show you this. I got this from

00:09:15.380 Mike. I showed these last week. Mike got in touch with me by email this week saying he sent me these

00:09:20.420 stickers. So Mike thanks a lot. I do appreciate it and I particularly like this one. I think it's

00:09:25.480 fantastic. I think I'll put it on my car. Let's take a look at your submissions from this week.

00:09:36.980 The submissions today are mostly pictures but if you have a video or you want to speak a

00:09:42.780 declaration of independence for me be sure to put it into Google Drive, Dropbox, iCloud and send your

00:09:49.260 videos to me at johnboltonab at gmail.com. Let's take a look at your submissions today.

00:09:54.720 Thanks to Evan P for sending this in. This is his Calgary Signing Station. Great job here.

00:09:59.560 I appreciate you taking the time to do that. A couple from Kerry. This one in Three Hills.

00:10:05.320 He sent in this canine duo supporting Alberta independence. As I said earlier we kind of went

00:10:11.200 to the dogs and cats this week. The cat coming up. Kerry I hope you saw their ID before they signed

00:10:17.500 the petition. Also check out this great picture. A great flag from Kerry. Thank you so much.

00:10:22.640 Earl is representing the Republic Alberta in Yuma, Arizona. Thank you so much Earl. It's an

00:10:28.920 international movement for independence here in Alberta. Lee with another photo. That's a new flag

00:10:35.000 with the wild rose on it. Haven't seen this one before but I appreciate it. Keep those coming Lee.

00:10:39.640 Yvonne with these Alberta pins with the APP QR codes on this. You know I think this is a great idea

00:10:45.600 Yvonne. If you have more QR codes we can put more information on those. Keep those coming

00:10:50.800 as well. I think that's a good idea. I'll pass that along to the people at Stay Free Alberta.

00:10:54.900 Charles sent this signing location to me. We missed the first dates on this one but there

00:11:00.080 is one coming up on the 19th as you can see. Just 15 minutes north of St. Albert. If you've

00:11:05.480 got a signing location and you've got a graphic or something send that to me just like Charles

00:11:10.880 did. Sonia with her house done upright. Faith, family and freedom. We hear that a lot. Thank you

00:11:17.180 very much to Sonia. Tim says his Alberta flag is getting impatient. When will the Maple Leaf flag

00:11:23.720 be replaced? Thanks for the picture. Christian with a patriotic piano. Christian this one hits all the

00:11:31.240 right chords. Ba-dum-bum. Sorry. This is out on Old Banff Coach Road just outside Calgary. Here's the

00:11:38.300 Alberta flag with the Jays. Thank you very much for that. Yorga with this cartoon. Alberta climbing

00:11:44.280 out of a toilet. Some interesting imagery here. Thank you Yorga. Bill says he's working the afternoon

00:11:51.920 shift in Edmonton. A great flag picture here. Where is this so I can tell people where to go there and

00:11:58.680 sign? Please let me know. Bill send me an email. johnboltonab at gmail.com. LW this one made my week.

00:12:05.600 This is a cat watching me on YouTube. Outstanding. Thank you so much. I'm going to save this one on

00:12:13.380 my phone. Maybe I'll make this into a poster and put it on my wall. Here's Bill with this beautiful

00:12:18.840 flag. Chris sent this of Grant and his buddies collecting signatures. I do appreciate that.

00:12:24.440 Keep sending those pictures of you doing the signature signing. I love to see them.

00:12:28.520 A couple from Don here. One with his car spreading the word. Thank you Don.

00:12:32.300 And one with the message in front of his house too. You might want to take down the leaf off the wall

00:12:37.700 if you get my drift on. Okay. Albertan has a slow roll coming up. This is coming up. I'm going to have

00:12:44.420 Al on with me later this week. I'll tell you more about it next week as well. But this is coming up on

00:12:50.540 Saturday of next week. I believe on the 21st. Yes. The 21st of February. So we'll be talking to Al

00:12:57.620 about this this week on the channel. Be sure to watch for that. We've got some more great stuff

00:13:01.740 coming up from Albertan as well. William with three picks says he signed at the Stavely Elevator.

00:13:07.920 His wife did it at the hair salon. Thank you so much for the info. Also William with this picture

00:13:13.440 of a pickup with a great Alberta flag and another one here as well from William. Joe sent this picture

00:13:18.780 in. This is with me at the Alberta legislature last year. Thanks for sending this. It was great meeting

00:13:24.300 Joe. Joe is the one who put together the song Alberta Roars that you heard earlier in this

00:13:29.600 calendar. Also, I got this great video from Al Burton who I'm going to be talking to later this

00:13:35.060 week about his slow roll. I just mentioned that a minute ago. He said in this video just yesterday.

00:13:42.000 Hey guys, it's Al and Mrs. Al. Just wanted to say happy Valentine's Day to all of you out there.

00:13:48.160 Happy birthday, John. Happy flag day, Canada, I guess. We had a great day today. The missus and I

00:13:56.860 drove around town picking out all of the petition signing stations and we found a few. So we'll just

00:14:02.640 share a few of these pictures coming up now. Thanks. Happy birthday, John. Happy birthday, John. And

00:14:07.760 change those Canadian flags since it's flag day to the Alberta flag, baby. Yeah, baby.

00:14:13.440 Thanks a lot to Al for the kind birthday wishes along with his wife. I do appreciate it. And look

00:14:20.020 for him on the channel later this week when we talk about his slow roll that is coming up next week as

00:14:25.700 well. And he actually sent me all these photos as he went around to different petition signing events

00:14:30.400 just yesterday. I do appreciate it. Always good to hear from you, Al, and your wife as well, of course.

00:14:36.040 And then we have Craig with this sign. Thank you so much for sending this in. And keep the submissions

00:14:41.540 coming. JohnBoltonAB at gmail.com.

00:14:52.740 And now we move on to the interview segment of the calendar for this week. I like to do this on a

00:14:58.200 weekly basis. And you know the independence movement is growing across the country.

00:15:03.700 They won't admit it, but Canada is slowly falling apart. We've got an independence movement in Quebec,

00:15:09.620 one in Saskatchewan, one in Alberta, and one in British Columbia. Earlier this week, I had a chance

00:15:14.920 to talk with a BC independent leader, Michael Henshaw. You know, looking from Alberta, what we

00:15:20.700 see happening out there, certainly pipelines are very much connected with British Columbia,

00:15:26.460 certainly Alberta to go through there. But the real challenge I think you guys have right now that we're

00:15:32.140 not dealing with here in Alberta is land claims. And you're dealing with, and maybe we can put them

00:15:37.160 together, but you're dealing with a left-wing government there, where here in Alberta, we tend

00:15:42.980 to elect very right-wing governments, more conservative. So talk about the land claim issue. You gave me an

00:15:49.400 amazing number the other day. You said something like 110% of the land.

00:15:54.160 Can you explain that to me?

00:15:56.460 110%. That was a few years back. It's probably more now of the provinces and land claims due to overlapping claims.

00:16:05.360 Yeah. So any way to get around that though, because we are certainly here where I live,

00:16:10.960 I'm in treaty seven. Right. Um, when it comes to treaties here and it's seeded land here,

00:16:17.220 all given up, all seeded, pretty much all of Alberta is that way, but I don't think British 1.00

00:16:21.180 Columbia is that way. So you've got some real challenges there and this must really tick you

00:16:25.180 off and people who are interested in independence there. There's, uh, our, there, our real estate

00:16:31.680 industry right now is, is it's tanking. Do you work in real estate? It's frozen. I,

00:16:37.740 yes, I've been for 20, 20 plus years and property manager. So yeah, yeah, it, it, it strikes close

00:16:43.860 to home. Yeah. But I'm seeing, seeing that, you know, throughout the province that it's quite

00:16:48.700 stagnant right now. And I think a lot of people are hesitant to jump in. Yeah. I wouldn't want to

00:16:54.300 buy a house there right now. There's no security. I think the banks are, are not interested in,

00:16:59.360 in lending. I think in spec, particularly those areas that are, have open law case, uh, lawsuits

00:17:06.200 more, more recently there was the couch and decision, but we have Kamloops now the whole city

00:17:11.660 of Kamloops is under claim. I'm just wondering where that's going to go. Yeah. Is there a lot of

00:17:17.580 support for this? I mean, there's you, there's somebody else who's talking about this as well. Are you,

00:17:22.040 are you getting people together? Are you having meetings? Are you trying to connect with other

00:17:26.620 people who are interested in this? And what part of BC do you want to take? Do you want it all,

00:17:30.780 or just the section above Vancouver and Victoria that seem to vote for the left in the liberal?

00:17:35.180 Well, I'm, I'm in a hundred mile, which is so central and the last provincial election,

00:17:43.440 everything North went blue and we did, and there's that, but the concentration, population

00:17:49.260 concentration, the lower mainland seem to dictate the, the outcome. Yeah. I think a lot of people,

00:17:57.180 it's a, that couch and decision is affecting those people though. And I, I, there, there's a,

00:18:05.160 there is a different, there is a shift right now. I think the only option is independence to get rid

00:18:11.060 of this and deal with this. So let me ask you this. Um, I've heard over the years since I've been

00:18:17.880 interested in independence here in Alberta. And, you know, I moved out here about 15 years ago from

00:18:21.980 Ontario. It was around 2019 when I went to my first meeting and I'd always heard that there are

00:18:27.980 sections of Northern British Columbia that would like to fragment away or break away from the South

00:18:34.160 and we could become our own little province. You get Saskatchewan or country, Saskatchewan, Alberta,

00:18:39.180 and the Northern part of British Columbia. Is there a belief in that? Or are you looking for the

00:18:42.880 whole thing here? I would be, I'd be all for that, John, if, if, if there was no other option,

00:18:48.360 but I'd like to see the whole province. We have the, we have the port of Vancouver, uh, the coast

00:18:54.100 there's, we got fisheries. I love fishing, but, uh, we, there's opportunity up and down the coast.

00:19:00.980 And if, if we can get the lower mainland on board, I'd be all for that. That'd be first option.

00:19:06.760 Are the people of British Columbia, we hear that we, you know, there are people who are

00:19:10.060 obstructionists who don't want natural resources to go through your province, but the people you

00:19:14.600 speak with, are they generally in favor of, um, you know, expanding our pipelines and getting our

00:19:19.760 oil to tide water in other places, as opposed to having to ship all of it down to the United States,

00:19:24.840 to the South of us. When people get hungry, they will, they'll change their mind and they are.

00:19:30.940 Thanks a lot to Michael for being on the channel and we'll be keeping an eye on what's going on in

00:19:35.580 British Columbia as well. I've actually been on the phone this week with other people from the

00:19:40.240 independence movement there, more interviews in the future on what's going on in Saskatchewan.

00:19:44.820 And of course, as the momentum grows here in Alberta, we'll keep talking to the leaders of

00:19:49.140 independence here in our province, soon to be our new country. Keep your submissions coming to me.

00:19:54.500 I love hearing from you. JohnBoltonAB at gmail.com. Keep sending me pictures and videos,

00:20:00.260 anything you got that is independence. And if you want to find out about the independence

00:20:04.080 movement where petitions are or an event or an activity or how you can be a canvasser,

00:20:08.760 or if you can't get out to sign a petition and you'd like to do that, how you can fill out a form,

00:20:13.400 go to stayfreealberta.com. Thanks for watching the independence calendar. If you liked the video,

00:20:18.600 please give it a thumbs up, subscribe to the channel, ring the bell for notifications. I'll see you next week.
