00:05:39.940We had Ben Crane was talking there that night, Corey Morgan and others.
00:05:45.060And I had a chance to talk with Chris for a few minutes.
00:05:47.400But yesterday I got a tour of his bus.
00:05:49.980Chris is a very thoughtful guy and he's working his ass off, folks.
00:05:52.880So if you can help out Let's Talk Alberta, go to letstalkalberta.com and make a donation, okay?
00:05:58.120Because he's running around and he's got this bus that you see on the screen here, right here, on the right-hand side.
00:06:04.540This bus has cost a significant amount of money so he can spread along the message.
00:06:08.960Now, the other thing was, I'm on the bus and Chris has been creating these little booklets to try to spread the word and information about Alberta independence.
00:06:18.900Every argument to stay is a reason to leave. I mean, there's a lot of work in these things.
00:06:28.000And here's another one. Treaties, First Nations, and opportunities for all Albertans. And again,
00:06:32.840look at all the work he's put into these things. And another one. Why are politicians love the
00:06:38.180status quo? And again, a lot of work that he's put together. He's going to be selling these
00:06:43.580so he can recoup the cost for printing them
00:09:01.360He wants those jobs to move back to the U.S.
00:09:04.980The reason those jobs are in Canada is because of the low dollar.
00:09:09.040If you can get your labor costs reduced by 20 to 30 percent because of the dollar, you're going to move, as historically has happened over the last several decades, those jobs from the U.S. to Canada.
00:09:19.220Trump wants them back. Well, he doesn't have the world's largest, third largest reserve of oil in that he can continue to produce in the United States.
00:09:29.940He doesn't have our vast agricultural resources, Canada's largest beef herd, most of which goes to the United States to feed Americans.
00:09:39.680He does not have potash and fertilizer like we have here in Alberta and Saskatchewan that he desperately needs.
00:09:46.120So Canada's negotiating strength is they're going to end up and they keep musing about using our natural resources superpowers and how we have leverage here in Alberta and Saskatchewan with the United States to counteract the fact they've got no leverage in Ontario and Quebec.
00:10:12.640but that really illustrates Alberta's power and how we would be better off and it reinforces my
00:10:22.340theory and my view that I've been putting out there for a year which is Canada is too big
00:10:28.100Canada is not the optimal size of government um it's too the economies are too regionally diverse
00:10:34.360um uh the the uh the size of the country I saw an excellent analogy on x the other day
00:10:41.760uh imagine if turkey was administering and ruling over france in europe that's the same distance
00:10:52.340between edmonton and ottawa yeah yeah turkey and france yeah right yeah we're just so vast and we
00:10:58.700have different regional economies different regional cultures so the fact that the go-to
00:11:04.940move for the Laurentians and the Ottawa elites to preserve their power base and serve their voters
00:11:13.640in central Canada is to look to use the leverage of the inherent natural power, economic power,
00:11:21.880natural resource power of Western Canada, particularly Alberta and Saskatchewan,
00:11:27.260shows that those who think that maybe Alberta couldn't go alone are wrong
00:11:33.700and shows that we would be positioned as an independent country
00:11:38.600to negotiate a much more preferable trade deal with the United States
00:15:13.140And very often I don't write a lot because I do get a lot of email.
00:15:16.240But keep them coming. I appreciate it. And keep your pictures coming as well.
00:15:19.780And as I've been saying every week, it's nice to see pictures of, you know, signs, the Alberta referendum signs on a patch of grass isn't great.
00:15:28.000But if you've got a nice garden or you've got it in a good place, let me know about that.
00:15:31.200And sometimes when I get some pictures in, I like to feature them because they're a little bit different.
00:15:35.780OK, so it's not always signs, but if they're kind of cool, I will feature them here.
00:15:41.020So let's take a look at what we've got this week. We'll start off with Diana in Spruce Grove.
00:15:46.240This picture from Diana. Thank you so much. Beautiful, beautiful plants and bushes out here
00:15:51.440with the Choose Alberta sign. That would be one of Cory Morgan's signs. We've got this from Rick
00:15:56.360in Mosley. Beautiful old truck there. Fantastic. And this is reminiscent of an old gas station
00:16:04.040sign. Republic of Alberta. You know what's interesting about this? This is not a sign
00:16:08.440per se, like you're seeing in people's front yards, like the one in my front yards. But I'm
00:16:13.260seeing more Republic of Alberta stuff. Flags as well. I think I might even have one in the
00:16:19.200pictures this week. And there's another one from Rick and Moss. Let me see if I can straighten
00:16:22.480that out a little bit for you. Sharpen it up. There you go. And look at that old truck. Loving
00:16:27.120it. Thanks so much, Rick. I do appreciate that. Woody sent this one in. Why am I featuring this
00:16:32.540one? It is just a sign at the side of the road. Hard to see. I was out yesterday and I went up to
00:16:39.120mirror up to Chris Scott's place. Jason Levine, as I mentioned off the top of the show, had an event
00:16:44.080there yesterday with a lot of TPA supporting that. Saw a lot of signs like this coming back in that
00:16:49.120two, two and a half hour drive. So thanks for sending this picture in. I do appreciate it, Woody.
00:16:54.060And here's another unusual one. It's not a sign, but check this out. Check this car hood. You know,
00:17:00.520I've actually got a car that's the exact color of the Alberta flag and it would look really cool on
00:17:06.060my hood, but I have to talk my wife into it. Thanks to Andrew for sending that picture in.
00:17:10.460This is from Val. This is Wilf's pop-up in Red Deer. Look at these guys. Awful happy out there.
00:17:16.400Let Alberta decide. So they've got Keith and Tanya signs out there. Strong and free hat. Oh,
00:17:21.900my eyesight's just so bad. I can't read what the other ones say, but thanks for the thumbs up.
00:17:25.980I do appreciate it. And thanks for sending that picture in, Val. This one from Christopher. Again,
00:17:31.760Republic of Alberta. And look at the signs on either side of the garage here. Not a regular
00:17:37.380sign, but I'm seeing a lot more of this. And that's the flag I was telling you about right
00:17:40.980there. And here's another unusual one on a boat. You know, it's very strange for somebody who comes
00:17:46.660from Ontario. And I grew up on Lake Huron, one of the great lakes. And I'm in Ontario where there's
00:17:51.920a lake pretty much every 10 feet if you go up in central Ontario. Alberta, not with a lot of lakes.
00:17:57.600So I thought it'd be interesting to have a boat with a flag on it here.
