00:10:11.960 Heather Field, one of the other organizers of the event, sent me a text message the day

00:10:21.800 And oh my God, Dennis, it was incredible.
00:10:24.880 Then I saw the other events that were happening on Saturday night.
00:10:27.440 And it seems like there is some kind of momentum.

00:10:33.680 There's a momentum growing with this, that people want to be part of this now.
00:10:38.980 And I think it started last Saturday night in a big way.
00:10:41.740 What are your thoughts on that?
00:10:43.460 Well, you know, I think you hit the nail on the head, you know, for somebody like myself,
00:10:49.700 who's been involved with this right from the get go, this whole process of educating the
00:10:54.880 public on the rationale and merits of sovereignty.
00:10:57.440 So, you know, going into this, you never really know, you know, what the response is going to be.
00:11:03.900 I mean, we've had, you know, at our educational events previously, we had lots of people come out.
00:11:10.940 But, you know, when the petition started, it was an expectation that we hoped there would be a lot of people.
00:11:20.100 But I didn't think there would be a flood of people.
00:11:23.560 I didn't think that the lineups would go on for kilometers, you know.
00:11:28.640 And this is the kind of thing that we're seeing.
00:11:32.780 Mitch and I were up in Fort McMurray on Saturday.
00:11:35.140 And it, I mean, it went on for hours, for several hours where people were lining up to come in.
00:11:45.280 And then I did an event in Millet on Monday.
00:11:48.500 And for about four hours from about six o'clock till 1030, people were four and a half hours.
00:11:58.840 People were signing.
00:12:00.660 And my job was to entertain them as they were coming in and just answering questions and that sort of thing.

00:12:09.680 And then last night in Red Deer, and this is the second event in Red Deer.

00:12:19.880 But the lineup just went forever.

00:12:25.560 But the thing that's interesting is the enthusiasm and the age range.

00:12:42.120 I mean, you know, this is a grassroots populist movement like Alberta has never seen before.
00:12:51.620 And perhaps never in Canada has there been a movement like this, other than maybe what was going on with the trucker convoy.
00:13:00.000 But I think what's happening here, John, is that sovereignty, the concept of Alberta becoming a sovereign country, cuts across all political stripes.
00:13:14.240 Because it does not matter if you're a union member or you're a schoolteacher or a nurse or you're in the private sector.

00:13:25.380 The economic benefit that people recognize and the cultural benefits, the preservation of your values, I think this is going to be world-changing.
00:13:41.260 I think Alberta is going to be the example for the world of what people can accomplish when they come together.
