Summary
I just finished watching the Liberal Leadership Debate and it was a tough slog. I don't agree with most of the things they said, but it's hard to hear what they have to say when you're not paying attention to what they're talking about.

Hi there, it's John and welcome to the channel 818 p.m. on Tuesday, February the 25th.
00:00:05.440
I do not have my big blue mug of coffee too late at night.
00:00:08.480
I do have a mug of water here and I just finished watching the liberal leadership debate.
00:00:14.540
And oh my God, it was tough to get through those two hours.
00:00:18.180
And honestly, I started watching it and about 10 minutes in I turned it off,
00:00:23.780
but I was watching it on YouTube with Juno, Juno TV, I guess you could say,
00:00:27.740
with Candace Malcolm and Kian Bextie. And I went back to it and I watched every minute of it.
00:00:32.700
And it was a tough slog. I have to say it really was.
00:00:35.680
I don't agree with liberals and it's hard to hear what they have to say.
00:00:39.660
But somebody actually tweeted on X, this isn't a debate because it wasn't a debate.
00:00:46.180
What would you call it? And I said, ambient replacement therapy,
00:00:49.520
because I'm glad I didn't have to watch it in an Eastern time zone.
00:00:52.900
I'm in the mountain time zone. I would have been asleep by the end of this thing.
00:00:55.620
So, what did I hear from these four candidates?
00:00:59.920
We had Karina Gould, Frank Bayliss, Christy Freeland, and Mark Carney on stage.
00:01:05.780
I heard a lot about bigger government, about more government in my life.
00:01:12.580
I heard more about expanding on programs we already have,
00:01:17.280
And they all said they wanted to give a tax cut,
00:01:21.580
but if you are going to expand on programs and make government bigger,
00:01:30.640
So, you either have to raise taxes or you have to spend more money,
00:01:40.000
And of course, oh my God, the first three or four questions were Trump,
00:01:48.100
And then any time they had an opportunity through the two hours,
00:01:52.020
Donald Trump got thrown into the mix over and over again in his oncoming tariffs.
00:01:57.660
Now, what I didn't hear about were the things I wanted to hear about.
00:02:01.460
The things that Pierre Polyev has been talking about.
00:02:06.520
but he's been right on point since he became the leader of the Conservative Party on so many issues.
00:02:16.840
Maybe I zoned out for a moment, but I didn't hear it.
00:02:21.160
Immigration was touched on for a second by Mark Carney,
00:02:32.400
Our government has grown between 30% and 40% since the Liberals got in in 2015.
00:02:43.260
They all, most of them said at one time or another that, you know,
00:02:55.200
I want to go down south, mountain biking, but I can't.
00:03:02.480
What I didn't hear about really was the cost of living.
00:03:09.780
How are you going to get the price of this down?
00:03:12.480
and this is how I judge what it's costing me at the grocery store.
00:03:19.500
They don't really talk about the economy when it dealt with Canadians.
00:03:25.360
A couple of years ago, this was $2 a liter for cream.
00:03:40.000
I heard nothing about the cost of living that really would do anything for me.
00:03:45.580
It was the last thing they got into before they wrapped it all up.
00:03:52.320
except Gould, who wants to continue with it now,
00:03:54.900
because she's a climate cultist to the nth degree.
00:03:57.120
I had really no idea until I watched this tonight.
00:03:59.660
The other three have never even heard about the carbon tax, from what I understand.
00:04:07.220
Carney said, and it's been on this channel many times, it was too low.
00:04:10.180
The other people on this stage all voted to put it up.
00:04:12.320
And from what I understand, it's still going to go up on April 1st.
00:04:15.560
I don't think it's quite been cancelled as of yet.
00:04:18.260
They're depending on their Team Canada rhetoric to pull them through this.
00:04:23.980
There are enough stupid people in this country that are going to vote for this party.
00:04:29.340
A number of them said that Paulieff keeps saying Canada is broken.
00:04:36.860
The reason we're in this trouble for Donald Trump, I hate to sound like a broken record,
00:04:43.840
We would not be here right now if we'd have done all the things they say they're going to do now,
00:04:49.280
Building pipelines, getting natural resources out of the ground,
00:04:54.160
But they all wanted that to die because of climate change.
00:05:02.480
she said, well, that was a great debate a number of times after they wrapped up one of their little topics.
00:05:12.380
You know, as a moderator, I've done it many times.
00:05:14.100
You want to be fair, but you want to ask probing questions, tough questions.
00:05:20.440
But I don't think she went into this with the right frame of mind.
00:05:28.240
Now, as far as each of the candidates go, Carney didn't say much about anything.
00:05:40.440
We never learned anything about how he'll be a disaster for Canada,
00:05:43.980
how he rallied banks to defund oil and gas in Canada,
00:05:53.500
And they were all critical of the government over the last 10 years,
00:05:57.940
even though three, you know, a couple of them on stage there were part of it.
00:06:03.680
Freeland was a big part of the disaster we've had over the last 10 years.
00:06:07.760
She seems incapable of understanding how, or that she was even part of it.
00:06:12.160
She doesn't see dead people, but she hears from four-year-olds about complex issues.
00:06:16.660
Apparently, she brought up this thing about this little kid asking about
00:06:19.720
how she can save the world, or Canada, from Donald Trump invading.
00:06:25.500
I think it was years ago when Jimmy Carter was president.
00:06:32.180
and he talked about how he used to chat with his daughter about nuclear war.
00:06:37.900
She has complex discussions with four-year-olds about complex issues.
00:06:45.400
I don't think three of them on stage have a chance.
00:06:47.380
Although, I think Bayliss sounded the most reasonable of the four.
00:06:52.400
I think of all four, if there was one person I had to vote for one of them,
00:06:58.180
I think he's the most reasonable person up there.
00:07:02.160
But I think he had some good ideas that the other three didn't have.
00:07:06.520
None of them seem to remember that in some way or another,
00:07:09.960
they've been part of the problem for the last 10 years.
00:07:20.980
and I think this is something that we can all hang our hats on if we're conservatives and feel good about,
00:07:26.940
I think Pierre Polyev would destroy any of these people in a debate.
00:07:37.380
I almost didn't watch this tonight because I really don't care.
00:07:39.820
I'm concerned about the real election campaign that's coming up and the debate between Polyev and the next leader who will likely be Mark Carney.
00:08:05.620
I'm going to put this one up in about six hours.
00:08:09.400
If you like the video, please give me a thumbs up.
