Mark Carney's comments in front of the military and during a media scrum were not about raising the military's pay, but about how much he really cares about Alberta and Saskatchewan, the West. And how much does he care about the cost of living in the West?

00:00:00.000 Hi, it's John, and welcome to the channel.
00:00:07.300 Great to have you along today, 5.43 a.m., Saturday, August the 9th.
00:00:11.440 Hope you're having a great start to your weekend.
00:00:12.960 I tip my big blue mug to you today.
00:00:16.300 Hope you have a great weather weekend as well.
00:00:18.520 It really sucks if you have to work all week, and then Saturday and Sunday it rains.
00:00:22.020 I've been there.
00:00:22.800 I've seen it like that all summer long.
00:00:25.620 God, I hate that.
00:00:26.320 So today I wanted to take a little bit of time, not a lot.
00:00:30.520 I don't want this to go on and on and on and on today, because it is Saturday after all.
00:00:34.420 We need to be happy.
00:00:35.560 Let's be cheerful, okay?
00:00:37.980 Yesterday, Mark Carney did a news conference where he was standing in front of the military,
00:00:42.020 and he was talking about raising the pay of the military.
00:00:45.420 But during the media scrum afterward, he answered a bunch of questions,
00:00:50.060 and they weren't all about the military.
00:00:51.980 So we're going to find out how much Mark Carney really cares about Alberta and Saskatchewan,
00:00:57.100 the West.
00:00:58.220 We're going to talk a little bit about how the liberals are not doing anything about the
00:01:03.000 cost of living, although Mark Carney thinks he's doing that.
00:01:05.760 He's just managing the decline right now, folks, because we're continuing to go into the abyss.
00:01:11.160 He's going to talk about Canada and Palestine, showing how irrelevant Canada really is on the
00:01:17.500 world stage.
00:01:18.200 And I want to start off with him talking about military pay.
00:01:23.100 Yesterday, he made announcement about raising military pay, and I want to give credit where
00:01:27.900 it is due, folks.
00:01:29.640 Thank you, Pierre Polyev.
00:01:31.620 Thank you, Conservative Party of Canada, for finally getting the military a pay raise.
00:01:36.860 Let's hear what Carney had to say yesterday.
00:01:38.980 In Halifax a few months ago, I shared our vision to rebuild, rearm, and reinvest in the
00:01:45.260 Canadian Armed Forces in order to protect Canada's sovereignty, to bolster our industrial capacity
00:01:50.460 and create new careers for our workers.
00:01:52.900 And at that time, I committed that Canada's new government would raise the pay of all members
00:01:58.000 of the Canadian Armed Forces.
00:02:00.720 And today, with Minister McGuinty and with Deputy Millett, I'm proud to fulfill that commitment
00:02:06.740 by announcing that all members of the Canadian Armed Forces will receive a pay raise.
00:02:12.320 So he's giving the military a much-deserved pay raise, but we all know what the Liberal
00:02:16.900 Party thought of the military prior to the election campaign.
00:02:20.500 It became part of their election platform merely because of Pierre Polyev, who was all over
00:02:25.180 this and has been all over this for years.
00:02:27.800 We will cut back on wasteful aid that goes to dictators, terrorists, and multinational
00:02:35.440 bureaucracies and bring that money home. 0.84
00:02:42.420 We're going to put that money back in our military to support our troops.
00:02:50.820 Polyev has been very strong on this for years.
00:02:53.620 It's because of Pierre Polyev and the Conservative Party that this happened yesterday, but Carney
00:02:58.140 is taking credit.
00:03:00.220 Like he took credit for signing away the Consumer Carbon Tax, which he did yesterday as well.
00:03:05.560 But just a little refresher for you of what the Liberals actually think of the military,
00:03:10.500 everybody remembers this clip as a Canadian veteran confronted Justin Trudeau.
00:03:15.260 Because honestly, Mr. Prime Minister, I was prepared to be injured in the line of duty when
00:03:21.260 I joined the military.
00:03:22.660 Nobody forced me to join the military.
00:03:24.700 I was prepared to be killed in action.
00:03:29.780 What I wasn't prepared for, Mr. Prime Minister, is Canada turning its back on me.
00:03:40.180 So which veteran was it that you were talking about?
00:03:43.420 Why are we still fighting against certain veterans groups in court?
00:03:51.520 Because they're asking for more than we are able to give right now.
00:03:56.140 Further on in the news conference during the media scrum, and this gives me an opportunity
00:03:59.940 to push Alberta independence once again, Carney's asked about the poor job numbers.
00:04:04.380 They're not good.
00:04:05.260 Not looking good at all.
00:04:06.400 Well, again, he's managing the decline.
00:04:09.160 He immediately jumps to criticizing the West.
00:04:11.660 He doesn't really care about the West.
00:04:14.060 He doesn't like the West.
00:04:15.640 He certainly doesn't like the conservative premiers out in Alberta and Saskatchewan, because
00:04:19.320 that's immediately where he jumped to criticize the two provinces out here about bad job numbers.
00:04:24.740 His solution to the problem?
00:04:27.080 Help the East.
00:04:28.220 As a follow-up, could I get your reaction to the jobs reports, a loss of 41,000 jobs, worse than expected?
00:04:34.400 Thank you.
00:04:35.000 Sure.
00:04:36.040 A couple of things.
00:04:37.260 One is that obviously we look very closely at developments in the labor market.
00:04:44.280 We had a very strong job report in June, over 80,000 jobs created.
00:04:49.940 We now have the July jobs reduction of just over 40,000.
00:04:59.240 What's interesting about if you look across those areas, the geographic spread is in the July report
00:05:09.460 is more in Western Canada.
00:05:11.500 It's in Alberta and Saskatchewan.
00:05:13.300 Less in the manufacturing sectors where we will expect, we expect to see pressure.
00:05:20.260 And there are pressures, which is why we're taking action in steel and lumber, and we will
00:05:24.700 in autos and other areas.
00:05:26.340 Immediately after talking about the poor jobs report, he shifted into how his government is
00:05:31.640 helping make life more affordable for Canadians with the cost of living.
00:05:35.640 Are you feeling that?
00:05:37.200 I'm not feeling that at all.
00:05:39.420 I'm thinking things are getting worse.
00:05:41.200 Again, managing the decline here, right?
00:05:44.900 He's gaslighting us, is what he's doing.
00:05:47.180 Now, I'm not going to show you what he said yesterday in that news conference, because
00:05:49.840 I wanted to show you basically what he talked about in an email I get.
00:05:53.400 I get regular email from the Liberal Party, and I got this one yesterday.
00:05:57.400 We're making life more affordable for Canadians, John.
00:06:00.540 Here are five ways Mark Carney and our Liberal team are delivering real results.
00:06:04.840 Bold type, underlined.
00:06:07.860 Middle class tax cut, putting up to $840 more in Canadian pockets every year.
00:06:12.420 Well, thank you, Mr. Carney, but prices are still going up, and if we'd elected Polyev,
00:06:18.760 it would have been twice that much.
00:06:20.040 As far as a Canadian dental care plan, it's not much of a plan.
00:06:24.200 It may be helping some people, but I haven't got poor teeth, so it's not helping me at all.
00:06:28.140 And a lot of dentists don't want to be part of this. 0.83
00:06:30.080 It's just too much red tape.
00:06:31.400 Affordable housing, eliminating GST on homes up to a million dollars, saving first-time
00:06:37.080 homebuyers up to $50,000.
00:06:38.820 Well, I seem to think that this was pure Polyev's plan, although Polyev's plan was better.
00:06:44.540 The Canada Strong Pass.
00:06:46.920 Helping families save money and discover more of Canada's national parks.
00:06:49.920 Well, I guess he did save me money about $20 a couple of weeks ago when I went to Banff
00:06:53.520 National Park.
00:06:54.180 I did a video on a bike ride I did from Banff to Lake Louise and back.
00:06:57.820 I guess he saved me $20, but you're not really saving anything when you're in debt.
00:07:02.040 Your country is broke and you're giving away free stuff.
00:07:04.980 And building one Canadian economy, we're breaking down trade barriers, speeding up nation-building
00:07:10.020 projects.
00:07:10.660 This is not happening.
00:07:11.740 I did a video on this yesterday.
00:07:13.180 Things are more fractured now than they ever were.
00:07:15.400 Things are not getting better.
00:07:17.840 They are getting worse.
00:07:19.320 Again, he is managing the decline.
00:07:22.640 Then we got into a question regarding what's going on in Gaza.
00:07:27.680 He basically showed how irrelevant Canada is in this world.
00:07:31.380 And I asked the question again, if Canada had to take up arms in this conflict, what side
00:07:36.140 would we choose?
00:07:36.740 Because his answer wasn't sufficient for me.
00:07:39.600 Judy Trin, CTV News.
00:07:41.560 Prime Minister, given that you have said that Canada will recognize a Palestinian state,
00:07:46.380 and given that Prime Minister Netanyahu has an arrest warrant issued by the International
00:07:52.760 Criminal Court, and yet he is still considering and will, he wants to take over parts of Gaza 1.00
00:08:00.860 city.
00:08:01.940 Will the Canadian government consider sanctions against Israel?
00:08:07.000 Thank you for the question.
00:08:09.380 President, we are working on multiple fronts to try to bring a level of stability to the
00:08:19.740 region, then security, then peace to the region.
00:08:24.260 And in terms of those fronts, yes, working with allies, working with the French, working
00:08:28.840 with the British, working with partners in the Middle East, other partners in the Middle
00:08:33.300 East, to work towards stabilization of the situation.
00:08:37.500 He's asked if Canada will take up sanctions on this issue.
00:08:41.400 His answer should immediately have been no, but instead he goes into some spiel to make
00:08:47.220 it look like Canada is somehow relevant when it comes to this issue.
00:08:51.260 And Canada is irrelevant as he is.
00:08:53.480 He's out of his league here, folks.
00:08:55.420 He's better off in a boardroom.
00:08:57.000 He's better off buying stocks.
00:08:58.980 He's better off trying to increase the value of his portfolio, because that's who this guy
00:09:02.920 is.
00:09:03.420 He should be taking his offer of recognizing a Palestinian state right off the table, because 1.00
00:09:10.220 the people on the other side, the terrorist organization that he supports, has said they're
00:09:14.900 not going to disarm until that happens.
00:09:17.160 So that should be off the table.
00:09:18.800 But he's not doing that either.
00:09:20.860 And the hostages are not coming home.
00:09:23.940 It's pretty sad.
00:09:24.940 Manage the decline, folks, because that's where we are right now.
00:09:28.920 Canada used to have some relevance, but we don't have any at all now.
00:09:32.360 Pretty sad.
00:09:33.020 And here's the thing that really bothers me, and I've been thinking about this quite a
00:09:36.080 bit over the last several days, is this guy could do anything and people will blindly
00:09:41.480 support him.
00:09:42.140 It's the Kearney cult.
00:09:44.020 It's pretty sad.
00:09:46.140 They'll follow him right into the abyss and still support him.
00:09:50.680 If an election were held today, he might get a majority.
00:09:53.100 Pretty sad, isn't it?
00:09:54.460 Anyway, that's it from what happened yesterday.
00:09:57.440 Just a few things to show you how bad things really are when it comes to the country and how
00:10:01.980 poorly people chose when it comes to electing a new prime minister.
00:10:05.440 Thanks for watching.
00:10:06.640 I appreciate it.
00:10:07.700 Hope you have a great day today, a great Sunday.
00:10:10.940 If you like the video, give me a thumbs up, subscribe to the channel, ring the bell for
00:10:14.260 notifications.
00:10:15.280 I'll see you in the next one.
