00:00:00.040 Hi, it's John, and welcome to the channel. Thursday, June the 5th, 5.44 a.m. I've got my big blue mug of coffee as usual.
00:00:08.480 And I wanted to do a video today on what I talked about a little bit, I think maybe yesterday or the day before,
00:00:15.820 how a familiarity is starting to seep into my soul. It may be seeping into your soul as well.
00:00:22.340 On how things have not changed really at all since Mark Carney became the Prime Minister, new leader, same old party.
00:00:30.000 It feels very familiar. It feels like the previous 10 years before the election under Justin Trudeau.
00:00:37.280 And what I find fascinating is I'm on X. I don't go on X a lot. I do use it as a source.
00:00:43.980 But so many people come across my timeline, and I get inundated with these people who think that the Liberal Party is the best thing that's ever happened,
00:00:52.060 and that Mark Carney is the greatest leader in the history of the world ever.
00:00:55.660 So I wanted to show you a few of those tweets quickly, and then show you the difference between the perception of how it's going and what is really going on right now.
00:01:07.080 Okay, so some tweets and a couple of quick videos.
00:01:09.800 So this is the kind of stuff I'm seeing online all the time. I just captured these quickly.
00:01:14.080 Body language speaks volume. Got a picture of Daniel Smith, Mark Carney.
00:01:18.060 The meek separatist versus the mighty unifier.
00:01:20.740 When do you effing just go away?
00:01:25.080 Inflationary liberal spending continues to drive food prices up.
00:01:27.880 Mark Carney claimed he had a plan for liberal inflation. His plan was to continue it.
00:01:32.000 Pierpauliev is correct in that.
00:01:34.020 Number three here.
00:01:35.220 Fact. We have a plan. Stand strong against Trump's tariffs.
00:01:38.680 And it's already in action. More on that in just a moment.
00:01:42.120 Marianne Mack. She, her, of course, who's got all the necessary flags there.
00:01:46.220 NDP grains have gone off the rails. CPC lost it years ago.
00:01:49.540 Does no one in Parliament know how to work together for the good of the country?
00:01:53.220 You know, I do know how to work for the good of the country.
00:01:57.320 I am an Alberta independent.
00:01:59.420 I voted against the Liberal Party because I wanted to do good for the country.
00:02:04.440 You didn't, young lady.
00:02:06.940 Looks like Canada just isn't that into PP.
00:02:09.580 There's the numbers, Carney, ahead of Polly F when it comes to likability, I guess that is.
00:02:13.700 I trust Mark Carney with the economy more than I trust Pierpauliev with the Civil War at Stornoway.
00:02:19.880 Mark Carney is uniting Canadians and conservatives are furious.
00:02:24.140 And forever proud to be Canadian.
00:02:26.680 Retweet if you love having a Liberal government.
00:02:28.800 So I see all this all the time.
00:02:31.140 I want to show you a quick video by Michelle Rempel-Garner in the House of Commons in question period.
00:02:36.700 This is the familiarity I spoke about.
00:02:39.780 She's talking about a real problem in this country.
00:02:42.040 She'll get into it, talking to some woman.
00:02:44.720 I guess she's in charge of immigration.
00:02:46.760 She's a know-nothing liberal.
00:02:48.400 And she gives a know-nothing answer.
00:02:51.040 Honorable member for Calgary Noles Hill.
00:02:52.800 So just to reiterate, by the end of this year, nearly 5 million people will be in Canada with expired or expiring visas.
00:03:02.660 And the government has no plan on how they're going to get them to leave.
00:03:07.080 We have a housing crisis, a youth jobs crisis, health care wait time crisis.
00:03:11.700 And knowing this, the Liberals have already issued nearly 177,000 new temporary foreign work permits this year.
00:03:20.040 A 10% increase from the last quarter.
00:03:23.420 That's the same amount of people as Kelowna.
00:03:26.240 With a youth unemployment crisis, why did the government increase the number of temporary work permits this year?
00:03:32.460 Mr. Speaker, we take our immigration system very seriously on this side of the aisle.
00:03:45.100 As I know, most Canadians, all Canadians do.
00:03:48.440 And for that reason, we are strengthening the integrity of our system while maintaining the humanitarian ability that we have in this country.
00:03:59.060 Make no mistake, Canada takes its obligations seriously.
00:04:03.320 And we are strengthening our asylum system to make it more efficient and more, more efficient and flexible.
00:04:10.820 And we will be doing exactly that.
00:04:13.060 She brings up a very important issue, one that was important during the election campaign.
00:04:18.640 A know-nothing Liberal stands up in the House of Commons, gives a word salad.
00:04:22.600 Liberals likely making things worse than they are better.
00:04:25.120 There's that familiarity from the previous 10 years.
00:04:28.520 And then we get this guy.
00:04:29.480 He stands up in the House of Commons.
00:04:31.420 He hasn't been the Liberal leader long enough to be this arrogant.
00:04:34.640 But look at the arrogance on his face.
00:04:36.180 People online think he's doing just a great job and that he's found his way.
00:04:40.360 Look at this strong leader.
00:04:41.480 That's the perception.
00:04:42.420 So let's watch this quick clip and then I'll show you the actual reality.
00:04:47.420 The first ministers agreed on a plan to build this great country.
00:04:51.420 Stand up to Donald Trump.
00:04:53.080 Fact.
00:04:54.040 Mr. Speaker, the government of Canada is imposing tariffs that cause maximum impact on the United States, minimum impact on Canada.
00:05:03.840 Fact.
00:05:04.160 On over $60 billion of U.S. exports to Canada.
00:05:09.160 Fact.
00:05:09.720 Fact.
00:05:10.160 Raised over $1.7 billion already.
00:05:13.660 Fact.
00:05:14.160 Fact.
00:05:14.660 Fact.
00:05:15.160 Fact.
00:05:15.320 Fact.
00:05:16.320 Fact.
00:05:17.320 The Congress has raised the tariffs on steel once again.
00:05:19.600 And there's Mark Carney bloviating in the House of Commons.
00:05:22.720 It's trying to look strong.
00:05:23.860 Of course, before the election, headline after headline after headline said that Mark Carney was the best person to deal with Donald Trump when it came to tariffs.
00:05:32.980 When it comes to these tariffs, how is it really going?
00:05:36.800 Here's the mayor of Sault Ste.
00:05:37.980 Marie.
00:05:38.820 Of less money in Algoma's pocket.
00:05:40.240 Well, and I was going to ask you about the speed of that because as you described it, hobbling along at 25% tariffs, you double that to 50%.
00:05:46.880 How long can you sustain those jobs?
00:05:49.360 How long can any company sustain that kind of a tariff increase?
00:05:53.980 I mean, Algoma will know the answer with certainty.
00:05:57.180 They're going through, as I understand, a number of scenarios to determine what path they will have to go down.
00:06:03.500 A lot of it depends on what the supports are going to be from the federal government.
00:06:06.660 So they've announced that defense spending will be made with Canadian steel, that Canadian projects will be made with Canadian steel.
00:06:13.640 But if it takes six months to get there, there might not be Canadian steel being produced because it's unproducible at a 50% cost increase.
00:06:22.160 So, you know, I'm saying that there needs to be an immediate stopgap, I'm saying, within the next 7 to 14 days.
00:06:29.780 Carney hints at retaliation regarding this latest threat, which will only hurt Canadians even more.
00:06:35.380 However, I don't believe the liberals even want these tariffs to go away.
00:06:40.380 I know it's awful to say that, but it helps them.
00:06:43.620 It gives the perception that they're being strong, fighting back against the evil Donald Trump.
00:06:49.540 That's why you start seeing all these tweets going online about how great things are and Mark Carney is such a wonderful leader.
00:06:55.220 When the reality is, how it's really going is, he was elected to solve this problem.
00:07:02.280 You know, I talked about Polyev and I talked about Carney way back on March the 21st, way before the election, and this is what I said.
00:07:10.480 But the argument is that Mark Carney being in finance will be good in politics, but Pierre Polyev, who's good at politics, can't know anything about finance.
00:07:22.560 And that's not true.
00:07:24.080 Mark Carney is not running to be the governor of the Bank of England.
00:07:27.380 He's running to be a politician.
00:07:29.280 And the only person that has experience doing that, that has a chance of being prime minister, is Pierre Polyev.
00:07:37.080 Polyev is seen as a demon online, Carney as the savior of the country.
00:07:42.660 There is perception versus reality.
00:07:44.740 Polyev drove the election campaign on most issues.
00:07:48.880 You would still be paying a carbon tax when you pump up your car if it wasn't for Pierre Polyev.
00:07:53.460 I still believe that.
00:07:55.360 Polyev spoke of crime, car theft, housing, cost of living, drugs.
00:08:00.740 All of these things were made an issue by Pierre Polyev.
00:08:04.320 I think we'd be much better off if he was running the country.
00:08:07.260 He'd certainly be working through the summer.
00:08:09.560 Perception versus reality.
00:08:11.160 The reality for me is familiarity of the previous 10 years of a messed up government that can't get the job done.
00:08:20.380 Thanks very much for watching.
00:08:21.880 I do appreciate it.
00:08:23.000 If you like the video, please give me a thumbs up, subscribe to the channel, ring the bell for notifications,
00:08:27.740 and I'll see you in the next one.
00:08:29.700 And I'll leave you with these final few words.
00:08:32.980 What advice would you have for the youngster?
00:08:35.400 Going to a central banker for political advice is never a good idea.
