Transcript

00:00:00.000 so here i am down at the bottom of moose mountain road and today i'm going to see how far i can go
00:00:17.280 up moose mountain road to moose mountain trail which i think takes me up to about 2400 meters
00:00:22.880 it's a cool day it's been raining and snowing probably more out here as well i'll just show
00:00:28.640 you where i'm going to be riding i'm going to go up this road and it's a significant amount of
00:00:33.840 elevation today pretty muddy right in here and obviously not going to be as muddy on the hill
00:00:40.160 but i'm going to get a muddy bike today for sure and if you look over here this is the entrance to
00:00:43.840 the trail called pneuma you can see the water down here it is pretty wet and a lot of puddles so the
00:00:50.560 idea is to go to the top go up to moose mountain trail try to get as high up as possible and then
00:00:55.680 maybe come down the trail called race of spades uh we'll see if that uh if that pans out today
00:01:02.320 i might just go to the top and then come all the way back down the the road because i'm just
00:01:07.120 interested in getting um a little bit of an adventure in today and uh and get a little exercise as well
00:01:14.960 i thought i'd stop for just a second i wanted to get a shot of this first of all
00:01:18.320 uh visibility is down to virtually nothing and if you look see the snow and the trees up here it's uh
00:01:26.800 i'm at let me see i think i just checked there's about 1700 meters 1761 meters above sea level
00:01:34.800 we started to see this at about 1700 so uh i think i'm going to see more snow the farther i get up and
00:01:40.880 i'm wondering if moose mountain trail will be rideable we'll have to see still a ways to go on
00:01:47.920 moose mountain road i'm now at 1930 meters above sea level and i'm above the clouds right now i came
00:01:59.520 out of uh all that thick fog that you saw a few minutes ago and the sun is beautiful and if you look
00:02:05.600 down the road you can see the cloud cover just uh below that peak over there so um it's beautiful
00:02:16.240 up here and actually less snow on the trees right now although there's quite a bit here but you could
00:02:22.160 see it melting as it came into the sun it started to fall off the trees so it's a pretty uh pretty
00:02:28.240 amazing sight here up above the clouds usually you can see all the way to calgary it's up there somewhere
00:02:54.640 beautiful view
00:02:58.240 this is moose mountain trail and uh i've come in probably about a kilometer right now i know
00:03:14.800 there's a sign back there saying from here to the summit 473 meters higher about 6k and uh it's really
00:03:23.040 wet out here see the water coming off the tree here running down the trail and i'm feeling a little
00:03:29.600 creeped out i'm out here by myself and i don't know if anybody will be coming down this trail so i'm
00:03:35.040 going to turn around go back maybe take one of the mountain bike trails down to the road and then ride
00:03:39.760 back to the car but i'm going to do this again but i'm going to do this when i've got a partner with
00:03:45.840 me because i do not want to get out here and then have something happen and yeah it's uh pretty isolated
