00:00:00.000 Hi, it's John, and welcome to the channel.
00:00:02.140 It is 1.37 p.m.
00:00:03.740 It is Friday afternoon, March the 21st.
00:00:07.100 I've got my big blue mug of coffee,
00:00:08.940 recording this now to upload on Saturday morning,
00:00:11.660 hoping, hoping probably won't pan out,
00:00:14.800 to get a little extra sleep on Saturday morning.
00:00:17.540 I've been wanting to do a video like this for a while,
00:00:19.960 and it has to do with what you're seeing
00:00:22.020 on the screen right here.
00:00:23.780 This is Mark Carney, a list of his accomplishments.
00:00:26.500 I'm not sure if this is a complete list,
00:00:28.160 but there's a lot of things on here,
00:00:30.080 and generally you see something like this on X.
00:00:32.900 Somebody has posted this, and above it you'll see
00:00:35.380 who would you rather have running your country,
00:00:38.060 Mark Carney or a guy who has been a career politician,
00:00:41.380 referring to Pierre Polyev.
00:00:43.200 And certainly there's a lot of things on here.
00:00:44.740 There's a lot of padding on here,
00:00:46.300 and there are some big black marks on this list.
00:00:49.780 The fact that he's been part of the World Economic Forum.
00:00:52.820 The final thing on this list,
00:00:54.160 the UN Special Envoy for Climate Action,
00:00:56.700 Mark Carney is net zero.
00:00:59.020 And he will destroy our oil and gas industry,
00:01:03.320 despite the fact of what he's saying right now
00:01:05.420 as he goes on the campaign trail.
00:01:07.820 He was also the co-chair for the Glasgow Finance Alliance
00:01:10.760 for Net Zero,
00:01:11.740 which encouraged banks to divest from oil and gas
00:01:14.440 while he was investing in oil and gas in other countries.
00:01:18.660 Divest in oil and gas in Canada,
00:01:21.040 and it's cost hundreds of billions of dollars here.
00:01:23.200 And of course on here as well,
00:01:25.720 chair and head of transition investing at Brookfield Asset Management.
00:01:29.080 He moved Brookfield out of Canada.
00:01:31.380 Great business decision, by the way, to move to New York.
00:01:34.680 He could read the tea leaves.
00:01:36.520 The economy in Canada sucked under Trudeau and the Liberals,
00:01:40.020 and under his tutelage.
00:01:41.100 He was his financial advisor, so he made a good decision.
00:01:44.300 Politically, a real bad decision, but a really good business decision.
00:01:48.460 But what most people tout on his resume here are the fact that he was the governor of the Bank of Canada,
00:01:53.960 and the governor of the Bank of England.
00:01:55.940 They had a big job, but generally, read the tea leaves,
00:01:59.120 raise the interest rate, drop the interest rate,
00:02:01.160 to try to help out the economy.
00:02:03.500 And from what I understand, a lot of people have said,
00:02:05.880 he did a really bad job as the governor of the Bank of England.
00:02:10.680 Liz Truss, who was a politician,
00:02:14.200 who was the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom for a time,
00:02:16.540 and likely would have been the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom for a lot longer,
00:02:20.380 if it weren't for Mark Carney,
00:02:22.120 hasn't got a lot of good to say.
00:02:23.960 about Carney when he was the head of the Bank of England.
00:02:27.460 I think it is extraordinary that Mark Carney has become the Prime Minister of Canada.
00:02:32.200 He did a terrible job in Britain of the governorship of the Bank of England.
00:02:37.340 He created a lot of the problems that blew up on my watch and that I got blamed for
00:02:41.600 were actually created by him.
00:02:43.300 He backed Labour in the election,
00:02:46.940 and Rachel Reeves' policies, which are leading the country to bankruptcy.
00:02:51.340 So why on earth the Liberal Party of Canada has selected this man, I have no idea.
00:02:57.380 And I think it is illegitimate that this guy has never been elected as a member of Parliament in Canada.
00:03:04.500 Justin Trudeau has pursued a lot of the same policies that Europe has been pursuing.
00:03:08.940 And America has raced ahead of us.
00:03:12.040 Back at the turn of the millennium, the average Brit was catching up with the average American in terms of income per head.
00:03:19.980 We are now $34,000 a year behind.
00:03:23.820 We are poorer than Mississippi, which is the poorest American state.
00:03:29.100 And the same is true.
00:03:30.080 The same is true of France and Germany and to some extent of Canada,
00:03:34.620 because they pursued all of these woke policies.
00:03:38.720 High taxes, high spending, not using their natural resources.
00:03:42.700 And Justin Trudeau was the architect of that.
00:03:46.780 And of course, Mark Carney has been the advocate of these policies.
00:03:51.700 That's Liz Truss, the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, with Glenn Beck.
00:03:56.860 She has nothing good to say about him.
00:03:58.820 And there's lots of videos like that online saying that Mark Carney was a disaster for England.
00:04:03.680 I mean, the United Kingdom is a basket case economically right now.
00:04:09.680 A basket case.
00:04:10.660 A lot of that deals right back to Mark Carney.
00:04:13.000 And Carney couldn't keep his mouth shut.
00:04:15.460 He waded into the Brexit issue over there when he should have kept his mouth shut.
00:04:20.060 He doesn't know when to shut up.
00:04:22.000 And he's not very good when it comes to extemporaneous talk.
00:04:25.200 He's just terrible at it.
00:04:26.340 Watch him in news conferences.
00:04:27.800 But the argument is that Mark Carney being in finance will be good in politics.
00:04:35.240 But Pierre Polyev, who's good at politics, can't know anything about finance.
00:04:40.140 And that's not true.
00:04:41.620 Mark Carney is not running to be the governor of the Bank of England.
00:04:44.960 He's running to be a politician.
00:04:47.260 And the only person that has experience doing that,
00:04:50.360 that has a chance of being Prime Minister, is Pierre Polyev.
00:04:54.140 He's been in government for 21 years.
00:04:57.020 And he would have been a minister far longer if it wasn't for the fact
00:05:00.180 that liberals have been in power for most of the time he's being an MP.
00:05:05.280 The job is to be a politician.
00:05:07.720 And Mark Carney, by the way, doesn't think he should be commenting on politics
00:05:14.060 because he's a banker.
00:05:16.240 Now, how do I know that?
00:05:17.460 Because I took an hour and a half finding this clip.
00:05:21.600 And credit to Rebel News.
00:05:23.080 But it took me a while to find it on their YouTube channel.
00:05:25.520 Here is Ezra Levant, and listen to what Mark Carney says here.
00:05:30.900 What advice would you have for the youngster?
00:05:34.280 Going to a central banker for political advice is never a good idea.
00:05:38.860 From what I can tell from the Rebel video, that's only a year ago.
00:05:43.360 You shouldn't be asking me about politics.
00:05:45.240 I'm a central banker.
00:05:46.320 He actually said that.
00:05:47.780 He's running to be a politician.
00:05:49.400 And it takes real skill to be a good politician.
00:05:52.720 It's important to be good at being a politician.
00:05:55.620 I've met some good ones.
00:05:57.200 Stephen Harper, great politician.
00:05:59.680 You know, Bill Clinton never met him.
00:06:01.740 But they called him Slick Willie.
00:06:02.760 But damn, he was a good politician.
00:06:04.220 You might not agree with his politics.
00:06:05.780 But he was good at it.
00:06:07.120 And that's important.
00:06:08.820 And Mark Carney's got no experience being a politician.
00:06:12.180 Pierre Paliyev does.
00:06:14.080 I don't think he's really good at it, too.
00:06:15.920 I've met him many years ago in my radio studio, a long, long time ago.
00:06:21.780 But I think he'll agree with me, if you've got any experience in life,
00:06:26.480 that you know people who have good schooling aren't necessarily smart people.
00:06:31.040 I've met people who have more letters after their name than I have in my name
00:06:34.580 who are absolute idiots.
00:06:35.840 Now, I'm not suggesting Mark Carney's an idiot.
00:06:38.240 But it doesn't mean he's good at being a politician.
00:06:40.600 And it doesn't mean he's good at running a country.
00:06:44.580 Paliyev's the only person who's got close to that,
00:06:47.080 being in politics for 21 years.
00:06:50.320 Brian Lilly put out a great video the other day.
00:06:52.760 And Brian Lilly has done a great job.
00:06:54.520 I think he's fantastic.
00:06:56.040 I'll put a link in the description so you can watch the whole thing.
00:06:58.400 I'll put a link to all of these clips in the description.
00:07:01.000 But this went viral.
00:07:02.420 And I'm going to play a short bit of what Brian Lilly says
00:07:05.240 when it comes to Mark Carney and his schooling.
00:07:08.180 And he talks a little bit about Justin Trudeau in here as well.
00:07:12.000 It's fascinating listening to liberals talk now
00:07:15.000 and decide that only people with the right credentials
00:07:18.440 are allowed to speak on issues safe, like the economy.
00:07:22.120 And Mark Carney being an economist, he has to know all the answers.
00:07:25.700 We just went through 10 years of the liberals trying to argue
00:07:29.100 that Justin Trudeau was absolutely great as a prime minister.
00:07:32.000 And we should ignore the fact that his big qualification
00:07:35.060 before becoming PM was substitute drama teacher.
00:07:38.700 Oh, that was wrong to say that.
00:07:40.200 But now, if you aren't an economist, you can't comment on Mark Carney.
00:07:44.020 Look, maybe it's because I know a lot of economists.
00:07:47.260 I know a lot of doctors.
00:07:48.340 I know a lot of lawyers.
00:07:49.760 They're all very smart people.
00:07:50.840 But it doesn't mean that they always have good ideas.
00:07:53.300 Smart people can have very bad ideas.
00:07:55.320 And on policy, Mark Carney has bad ideas.
00:07:58.580 That is why you can criticize him.
00:08:02.140 Don't go for this credentialism.
00:08:03.880 Don't say that you've got to be an expert.
00:08:05.480 Experts are often wrong about things.
00:08:08.020 You can bet that if Pierre Polyev were a drama teacher,
00:08:11.320 they'd be using that against him right now.
00:08:13.800 So well done to Brian Lilly once again.
00:08:15.740 But if you're the prime minister of the country,
00:08:17.700 what would you put on your resume?
00:08:20.040 Prime minister, probably politician.
00:08:22.820 Why would you want a central banker being the prime minister?
00:08:30.060 That's not the job.
00:08:31.000 The job is to be a politician.
00:08:32.420 And that's what Pierre Polyev is.
00:08:34.360 He's far more experienced when it comes to government than Mark Carney.
00:08:39.460 And I think that's important.
00:08:40.680 I think it's really important.
00:08:41.720 And we need to get behind him, folks.
00:08:43.660 It could be tomorrow we're hearing the election being called.
00:08:46.440 That means within 40 days, we're likely to have a new prime minister in this country officially.
00:08:54.840 It'll either be Mark Carney or Pierre Polyev.
00:08:57.320 Pierre Polyev will likely not have a job in 40 days if he's not the prime minister.
00:09:02.240 And that would be a sad thing because I think we're missing out on a great opportunity here.
00:09:06.000 But tell me what you think of the comments.
00:09:08.520 I'd rather have a politician being a politician than a central banker being a politician.
00:09:14.480 Give me a thumbs up if you like the video.
00:09:16.920 Subscribe to the channel.
00:09:17.940 Ring the bell for notifications.
00:09:19.160 We made it past 15,000 onward to 16,000.
00:09:22.800 And I'll see you in the next one.
