00:00:00.000 Hi, it's John, and welcome to the channel. Great to have you along. It is Tuesday, August
00:00:09.400 the 19th, 4.56 a.m. with the big blue mug of coffee. I hope you're having a great day
00:00:15.240 today. And today, I'm going to tell you a quick personal story, and I hope you'll stick
00:00:21.340 with me through this because it's very pertinent to the greatness of Canadian politicians.
00:00:25.760 I'm going to talk a little bit about Pierre Polyev and his speech last night. After winning
00:00:30.680 in Battle River Crowfoot, the latest numbers in the election, 80%, so it was a wipeout.
00:00:36.560 The left's Bonnie Critchley went down in flames. But I'm going to talk about the greatness
00:00:40.320 in politics because what Pierre Polyev did last night was outstanding, but in a different
00:00:45.760 way than you might be getting from the rest of the media. And then I'm going to talk about
00:00:49.740 the worst in Canadian politics and politicians. I'm going to get to Doug Ford shortly at the
00:00:54.340 end of this as well.
00:00:56.080 But I want to tell you a personal story. As you can see, I have got a gash in my nose
00:01:02.920 this morning. And this ties in with Polyev. Please stick with me. Yesterday, for those that
00:01:10.180 don't know, I had a bike crash two Saturdays ago. I broke my pelvis in two places and I broke
00:01:15.960 my collarbone, this one here. And it's pretty tough getting around when you've got a broken
00:01:22.060 pelvis. Yesterday, 10 o'clock in the morning, I went to get up out of bed. I twisted my
00:01:28.520 pelvis the wrong way yesterday. And I don't know whether you have ever had so much pain
00:01:34.740 that you blacked out, but it happened to me yesterday. And it's happened to me twice since
00:01:38.300 I've broken my pelvis. And you don't want to go through it. I went to get up and I was screaming,
00:01:43.500 oh my God, oh my God, oh my God. And my wife, God Lever, came down. And I'm holding on to
00:01:50.920 her. And I was in another world at that point. And I said to her, can you get a bowl? Because
00:01:59.340 I think I'm going to vomit. And as she got into the kitchen here, that was the moment
00:02:04.480 that I completely blacked out. And I went face first into the floor with a broken pelvis
00:02:08.560 and a broken collarbone. And we had to call the ambulance. I spent all day in the hospital
00:02:13.600 wondering if I'd done more damage to myself. It's what we were worried about. And I haven't,
00:02:18.660 thank God. But I'm standing at the door with the person from the hospital. And they looked
00:02:24.080 at me and said, what's wrong? And I said, I'm scared. I don't want to have to deal with
00:02:28.500 that again. It hurts so bad. And he said, he said, John, it's not the times you fall in
00:02:34.420 life, but it's the times you get back up. And that's, that's true. You know, I mean,
00:02:42.440 I watched Pierre Polyev last night. And I'm tying this in with him because I love the word
00:02:47.800 serendipity. I really do. Serendipity is a lucky happenstance. Now, I don't know how lucky
00:02:53.740 I was to fall yesterday, but I was lucky to learn that lesson last night. It's not how many
00:03:00.000 times you fall, it's how many times you get back up. And I think I knew that all along,
00:03:04.180 but I need that, needed that reinforced. And that's what Pierre Polyev did last night. He
00:03:08.300 did a speech that was masterful. Now I'll put a link in the description. This guy is the real
00:03:14.900 deal. I admire him. I do. I admire him, but he's the real deal. Of course, he came out after winning
00:03:25.060 last night and he did the regular stuff. He thanked everyone, said it was a wonderful opportunity to
00:03:32.340 meet the people of Battle River Crowfoot. He talked about the problems in the country. You know the
00:03:36.640 list caused by the liberals. Not going to get into it. Talked about how the conservatives will get to
00:03:41.280 work and that he would work with any party, which I don't think is going to happen. I'll get to Doug
00:03:47.420 Ford on that in just a moment. He talked about how things are worse now that Carney has been the
00:03:52.660 prime minister, how tariffs are worse since Carney has been the prime minister. He talked about his
00:03:56.580 sovereignty act, how he talked about building things. And because he's in Alberta, he talked
00:04:01.080 about building pipelines, but it was the best part of everything he said last night starts at about 13
00:04:06.560 minutes in. I'm going to play a short clip for you here. Not the whole thing. You can watch the whole
00:04:10.320 thing. I think you need to watch it. The best part of his speech last night was when he got into
00:04:17.920 talking about getting back up after you're down. I said yesterday in my video, I think Pierre Polyev
00:04:26.280 might've been a little bit humiliated by losing in the election back on April the 28th. But last night,
00:04:34.020 Pierre Polyev, it was a masterclass on talking about humility. I really love the people of Battle
00:04:41.920 River Crowfoot. They're the kind of, what you see is what you get. Give you the shirt off their back.
00:04:50.140 Tell it like it is. Common sense people. They reinforce, I love you too. Thank you very much. I love you.
00:05:02.680 And they reinforced a lot of lessons that all of us in politics have to learn and relearn and relearn
00:05:09.280 again. Humility and hard work, loyalty and love. You see, the people in these communities,
00:05:18.720 they fight their own battles, but they're always ready to stop and help a neighbor or a friend.
00:05:24.580 They know how to stretch a dollar. And most of all, they know in the words of the great Paul Harvey,
00:05:30.800 how to bail together a family with the soft, strong bonds of sharing. They reminded me of all of these
00:05:40.880 things. And they also reminded me that the road to success is never a straight line. And most of all,
00:05:47.400 you should never give up in hard times. That whenever hardship strikes, you need to stand up and keep on
00:05:54.600 going. And if you care about something, you don't give up on it when things get difficult or you
00:06:00.440 suffer a setback. These stories that were on the faces of the people I met, the woman suffering from
00:06:09.080 cancer who had just overcome days of radiation treatment, who showed up at my town hall in Stetler
00:06:17.120 to tell me to keep going. I say to her, you don't give up. So I don't give up.
00:06:27.680 It was a truly wonderful speech. He talked about the woman with cancer as an example,
00:06:32.140 but he gives a number of examples. He gets to the point where if you watch his wife,
00:06:37.880 Anna, standing behind him, she starts crying and she's wiping tears from her eyes. The man has learned
00:06:42.960 something from losing in the election on April the 28th. He knows what humility is. And he's to
00:06:50.940 be admired for what he said last night. It was a really wonderful speech. So again, watch the whole
00:06:55.180 thing. A link in the description. And then we move on to Doug Ford. And why am I lumping Doug Ford in
00:07:02.360 here? Because you go from a person who has the strength of his convictions, who's trying to solve
00:07:07.680 problems to Doug Ford, the premier of Ontario who calls himself a conservative. And he's asked
00:07:14.680 yesterday about advice for Pierre Polyev and he gives it. He talks about Team Canada. And Doug Ford
00:07:20.920 doesn't realize that Team Canada is dead. If he wants Team Canada to be alive, he needs to be talking to
00:07:26.820 the people who are getting in the way of making Canada a great country. And that would be people
00:07:32.400 like David Eby, Wab Kanu, the premier of Nova Scotia, the premier of Quebec. All those people
00:07:38.620 are standing in the way of prosperity in this country. It's been talked about here before.
00:07:42.760 What he needs to do is not give advice to Pierre Polyev, who has got solutions to the problems.
00:07:48.940 He needs to turn around and start talking to his good buddy, Mark Carney.
00:07:56.000 He needs to turn around to Mark Carney and say, you got to start working with people like Pierre
00:08:00.640 Polyev and start listening to Danielle Smith and start listening to Scott Moe, who have the solutions
00:08:05.980 to the problems in this country and will guarantee the prosperity of Canada. But Mark Carney isn't
00:08:12.520 listening. This is what idiot Doug Ford had to say yesterday.
00:08:16.400 Premier, today is Pierre Polyev's by-election. If he gets elected, I'm wondering, what's your advice
00:08:22.060 to him going into the fall sitting of the parliament?
00:08:24.920 Work with the prime minister.
00:08:26.920 How's it?
00:08:27.280 Let's team Canada. You know, let's put our political stripes aside and start working
00:08:31.940 together, collectively, on large infrastructure projects, on other areas that he can cooperate
00:08:37.880 with the government.
00:08:40.300 I don't think anybody should be listening to Doug Ford for advice when it comes to solving
00:08:45.440 problems in this country.
00:08:49.540 Doug Ford is not about solving problems. He's about advancing his career when it comes to politics,
00:08:54.740 and he's going to go right through Mark Carney to get it done because he's constantly complimenting
00:08:59.600 Mark Carney and the Liberal Party that's been in power for 10 years. It's got us into this mess.
00:09:06.560 And I don't have to give Pierre Polyev and his campaign team advice, but I'm going to.
00:09:12.180 Watch your back.
00:09:14.260 Because these two guys are snakes and they're going to try to do you in when it comes to your
00:09:18.560 leadership campaign in January. I don't know how that's going to manifest itself, but that's
00:09:22.740 what's going on here. I did a video back in January. January 21st. I watched it this morning.
00:09:30.520 I was wearing my Wexit hat. The video was called Get Off Team Canada. Get on Team Danielle Smith.
00:09:36.160 Because Danielle Smith is the only person that has accomplished anything in this country when it
00:09:40.660 comes to Donald Trump and tariffs. And she was called a traitor for it. That's how these people
00:09:46.400 roll, folks.
00:09:47.180 Now, where does this leave Canada? Pierre Polyev won last night. He'll be back in the House of
00:09:52.940 Commons. He'll be in question period. He's going to slay Mark Carney. He's just going to destroy him.
00:09:57.920 Where does this leave the country? The country is doomed, folks.
00:10:02.200 As much as I like Pierre Polyev, and I think he'd be a good prime minister,
00:10:05.620 I still believe that Alberta is better off as an independent country because Pierre Polyev will
00:10:09.840 get nothing done. Carney is running the country right now like he's got a majority because nobody
00:10:14.880 will vote with the conservatives on anything. So we're stuck with this. We're stuck with the suck
00:10:22.100 for God knows how long.
00:10:27.560 And that's the truth of the matter. But Polyev was wonderful last night. I think he was great.
00:10:32.720 Tell me what you think in the comments. Love to hear them.
00:10:35.120 I didn't have much time for comments yesterday because of what happened. I hope you don't mind
00:10:41.340 my personal story. But tell me what you think in the comments. If you like this video, please give
00:10:45.040 it a thumbs up. Subscribe to the channel. Ring the bell for notifications. I raise my big blue mug of
00:10:50.400 coffee to you. I'll see you in the next one.
