00:00:00.000 Hi, it's John, and welcome to the channel, 4.55 a.m. Sunday, May the 10th. I hope you're
00:00:07.860 having a great start to your Sunday. I do have the big blue mug of coffee with me today. I tip
00:00:12.560 it to you today. Hope you're having a great weekend. And getting going a little later this
00:00:17.100 morning because I had to get some clips together, had to find some stuff, and very often that
00:00:21.400 happens. I need to find what I'm looking for to do these videos in the morning. Got a bit of a
00:00:26.220 history lesson for you coming up in just a moment with a quote that I like very much,
00:00:30.140 and I'm going to use it in conjunction with Danielle Smith, and this is a great compliment
00:00:34.400 coming up in a moment. And I'm going to play some video of Danielle Smith at the Canada Strong and
00:00:40.520 Free Network Convention, which ended, I believe, yesterday in Ottawa. I think Danielle Smith is
00:00:45.780 one of the greatest speakers on behalf of the independence movement, whether she wants to do
00:00:49.880 this or not. She does it quite often. She criticizes the liberal government. Of course,
00:00:54.880 she was very critical of Justin Trudeau. And she has been very critical of Mark Carney when it
00:01:00.060 comes to his net zero plans for the country. And I'm going to play a little bit of her speech
00:01:05.320 from Canada Strong and Free in just a moment. But you need to understand this. People in the
00:01:11.000 independence movement admire Danielle Smith very much. We think she is very clever and very smart.
00:01:17.340 Some people say that we think she's angling to be the prime minister of Canada. She is a
00:01:22.380 politician, that is quite possible. I believe that as well. I often say, Premier Smith, would you not
00:01:27.780 rather be the president or the premier of a brand new country, meaning Alberta, but of course she
00:01:34.000 sticks to the, what is it, sovereignty within the United Canada, or words to that effect when it
00:01:38.940 comes to Alberta. She says she strongly believes in Canada, but again, she's a great spokesperson
00:01:43.360 for independence, and I'm going to prove that in just a moment, and I won't be cherry-picking her
00:01:48.020 words. But let's go back to the history lesson here. Danielle Smith was being talked about quite
00:01:54.020 a bit on X today. Alberta was trending this morning when I got up and I went, uh-oh, because
00:01:58.860 generally it's not good. People in the rest of the country don't understand Alberta. Premier Smith was
00:02:04.140 trying to describe what Alberta was about and tell people about Alberta in her speech in Ottawa. I'm
00:02:11.640 going to play a little bit of that for you in just a moment. But Danielle Smith, she's tough. 1.00
00:02:16.300 She's a tough lady. She's an, may I use the words, an iron lady for Danielle Smith. I could never be 0.99
00:02:22.420 a politician. I don't have the temperament for it. I couldn't take all of the abuse, but Danielle
00:02:27.400 Smith does. Danielle Smith has a path, economically, socially, that she sticks to. People try to get 0.95
00:02:33.540 her to go in different directions. She doesn't, which made me think of a quote. And the quote is,
00:02:40.640 the ladies not for turning. Now, those of you who are more seasoned, I'm talking about
00:02:45.680 the salt and pepper at the side of their heads, like myself, because I'm getting older,
00:02:50.340 remember this quote. And it's from Margaret Thatcher. And yes, Margaret Thatcher was not
00:02:56.520 for turning, neither is Danielle Smith. Here's the quote from, I think, more than 40 years ago.
00:03:02.560 To those waiting with bated breath for that favorite media catchphrase, the U-turn,
00:03:08.220 i have only one thing to say you turn if you want to
00:03:14.000 the ladies not for turning
00:03:21.880 i hope you don't mind me playing clips like that i think older people will find that rather
00:03:28.900 nostalgic we remember the days of ronald reagan and margaret thatcher they were around pretty
00:03:34.780 much at the same time back then, and if you're younger, you can learn from quotes like that.
00:03:39.140 It might be a bit of a jump to compare Danielle Smith to an iconic person like Margaret Thatcher,
00:03:43.720 but Smith certainly picks her path. She doesn't waver. You might have caught the reference earlier
00:03:48.760 calling Danielle Smith an Iron Lady, which was Margaret Thatcher's nickname after all.
00:03:53.900 And I'm going to get to the clips of her talking about Alberta and being a great spokesperson for 0.66
00:03:59.260 Alberta independence in just a moment, but she was getting beat up online for the words you're
00:04:03.740 about to hear. When Alberta was trending this morning, she's destroying Alberta and will take 1.00
00:04:10.040 years to recover from her disgraceful leadership. And I don't comment on X very often. I did on this
00:04:16.400 one. You didn't even watch the clip. Your country's broken and you're sleepwalking through it. If you
00:04:20.960 had watched the clip, you might have learned something. Maybe Georgia. Down here, Ryan, is she 0.65
00:04:27.260 though? Now, I don't believe Ryan is an Alberta independent. Don't know whether Ryan even lives
00:04:31.880 in Alberta. And Ryan obviously is a Canadian because he's got the Canadian flag in his handle
00:04:37.360 up here. But he linked to this graph right here. And let me blow it up a little bit for you. This
00:04:43.600 is the average wealth or economic output per person or the GDP per capita. And, you know,
00:04:49.460 we're often in Alberta described as ditch billies. That's an interesting one. Rednecks and knuckle 0.99
00:04:56.840 dragging Neanderthals. Well, if that's what we are in Alberta, what does it make the rest of the 0.99
00:05:01.500 country, because as you can see, Alberta leads when it comes to GDP per capita by a long shot.
00:05:07.900 Now, a lot of you people are saying, well, if you're leading, why do you want to leave Canada
00:05:12.780 if you're doing so well in Canada? Well, folks, we're doing well in Canada, not because of Canada,
00:05:18.200 but despite Canada. I'm wearing my Wexit hat today because if you look at the top three here,
00:05:22.980 Alberta, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia, we would be unstoppable if we became our own country.
00:05:29.720 Alberta certainly will do much better if we leave Canada altogether.
00:05:34.140 And you look down here and you look at Ontario, maybe Ontario should talk about independence,
00:05:39.160 but down here below the Canada average of 59,529, we've got Quebec.
00:05:45.100 I'm wondering what their per capita GDP would be if it wasn't for Alberta, giving them about $14 billion a year.
00:05:52.840 And there was a follow-up to this previous tweet by MaybeGeorgia. 0.99
00:05:56.620 Tell us how she is destroying Alberta.
00:05:58.940 lowest debt per capita, highest income per capita, which you just saw, lowest taxes by province,
00:06:05.640 highest growth rate of any province. Not sure what destruction is in your book. But remember,
00:06:10.780 we're doing well not because of Canada. We're doing well despite Canada. Now let's hear what
00:06:16.000 Danielle Smith had to say at this conference over the weekend and how she's speaking well
00:06:22.160 for the Alberta independence movement, to which I say to my Premier, Premier Smith,
00:06:27.520 Come on over to the independent side.
00:06:30.200 In a world that is growing more uncertain and, of course, more volatile by the day.
00:06:34.900 And let's just look at the results.
00:06:37.140 What has a decade of woke left-wing anti-development policies done to our country?
00:06:43.180 Soft on crime bail laws have let dangerous criminals and repeat offenders back onto our streets instead of keeping them behind bars where they belong.
00:06:50.860 their so-called failed safe supply experiment has only worsened the
00:06:56.100 addiction crisis and exposed families and their kids to discarded needles and
00:06:59.900 attics shooting up in the parks they're out-of-control immigration policies have 0.97
00:07:04.140 overwhelmed our nation's housing supply strained our social services and created
00:07:08.800 a national youth unemployment crisis and their anti-resource keep it in the
00:07:13.120 ground eco extremism has left us less able to secure to provide a secure supply
00:07:19.660 of energy to our friends and allies around the world with safe secure and responsibly produced
00:07:24.700 energy products so there's a reason why we refer to the last 10 years as canada's lost decade
00:07:31.660 canada's lost decade and here's a statistic that i think you need to hear over and over again if
00:07:37.740 you live in canada you need to have this drilled into your brain a trillion dollars in lost
00:07:43.980 investment in canada since justin trudeau became prime minister and through a period of that time
00:07:49.020 Mark Carney was his economic advisor. The amount of money lost in Alberta,
00:07:53.920 provincial lost investment is staggering. I'll play that for you in just a moment.
00:07:59.620 You know, take the clip I just played for you, put it on repeat, and people will come running
00:08:05.500 to Alberta independence, and that just scratches the surface. In a moment, I'm going to play another
00:08:10.020 clip from this weekend's conference. She talks about global economic uncertainty. Now, if Mark
00:08:15.900 Carney said those words, you would be thinking he was talking about the United States of America.
00:08:20.840 The global economic uncertainty I think she's talking about is uncertainty in Canada,
00:08:25.600 because not much has changed. Here's Danielle Smith talking about the lost investment in Alberta
00:08:32.140 over the last 10 years. And again, I think she's speaking on behalf of Alberta independence here.
00:08:38.600 Well, I can tell you that we've had at least $175 billion worth of projects that have been
00:08:43.900 canceled be because of the actions of the federal government. You look at pipelines in particular,
00:08:49.760 we had $176 billion worth of proposed projects that got canceled because of the uncertainty
00:08:57.080 created by various government laws. This onslaught of anti-energy, anti-agriculture,
00:09:02.300 and anti-resource development policies have scared away global investments to the tune of
00:09:07.360 a half a trillion dollars. $175 billion. She said $176 billion. What's the difference when it's a
00:09:14.360 billion dollars when you're talking about this staggering amount of money? And then she mentions
00:09:19.240 half a trillion dollars in natural resources and agriculture lost in Canada because of the
00:09:24.260 federal government. She's making a case here for Alberta independence, really. Now, here she is
00:09:29.920 talking about Alberta at this conference this past weekend. And again, I want to stress, Alberta is
00:09:36.580 doing well, far better than the rest of the country, not because of Canada, but despite
00:09:41.840 Canada. But where I come from in Alberta, we do things a little bit differently. We've built a
00:09:47.540 rock solid economic foundation grounded in conservative principles, one that is helping
00:09:51.960 us to weather global economic uncertainty and to help people succeed. And we're staying true to
00:09:57.480 the ideas that have always made Alberta a beacon of hope and opportunity, even when the world feels
00:10:03.400 a little bit dark and uncertain. Hard work, personal responsibility, freedom. These are
00:10:09.940 the values we live by, and we stand by them, no matter what pressures we face. Guided by these
00:10:15.520 values, we've made Alberta one of the most business-friendly environments in North America.
00:10:20.380 We do things differently out here in Alberta, and until you live here and you experience it,
00:10:26.260 you don't know. She talks about hard work, personal responsibility, and freedom. People
00:10:31.280 who live in Canada mock Albertans for that, but that's the reason why we do so well on this graph.
00:10:38.780 I can only imagine what that number would be if we didn't have the boot of the Liberal Party and
00:10:45.020 the Canadian government on our neck out here in Alberta. My friend Dennis Calva, who wrote this,
00:10:50.380 was recently on Jason Levine. I would suggest you subscribe to both of those men. They're fantastic.
00:10:56.040 and he talked about one little thing that would change that would probably change your life
00:11:01.300 in a huge way. Can you imagine if this actually happened? We could certainly make an awfully big
00:11:07.740 dent in personal income taxes literally day one. We can see a reduction in personal income tax
00:11:15.020 on the order of 50% total load or you see in corporate taxes probably you know 20-30%
00:11:25.080 reductions that would allow businesses to thrive better so so it's not like it's completely tax
00:11:30.840 free but you as a citizen end up with you know a lot more money in your pocket pick an average
00:11:37.000 family and i'm just looking at the math over here um average family of four you're looking at a
00:11:43.080 reduction of over a thousand a month in saved taxes purely on the reduction in personal income
00:11:49.160 tax we could do on day one. It's an excellent interview. Link in the description below. And
00:11:55.400 it's funny, in the interview, Dennis refers to an independent Alberta as Dubai with snow.
00:12:02.780 That's how much our prosperity would increase if Alberta were to leave Canada. By the way,
00:12:07.940 a lot of people ask me about this document. Where can I get it? You can download it at the Alberta
00:12:13.120 Prosperity Project website. So check that out as well. I think Daniel Smith is a great spokesperson
00:12:19.000 person for the Alberta independence movement, whether she likes it or not. Many of us in the
00:12:24.220 independence movement wish she would come over to our side. I think we'd be unstoppable if she did
00:12:28.420 that. But I think what Danielle Smith wants, whatever she calls it, a sovereign Alberta within 0.77
00:12:34.760 the United Canada, is a pipe dream. Or I guess more specifically for Alberta, a pipeline dream.
00:12:42.080 Thank you very much for watching. If you like this video, give it a thumbs up, subscribe to the
00:12:46.180 ring the bell for notifications. I'll see you in the next one.
