Also, good morning, sponsors and crew, and of course, hundreds of volunteers.
00:01:12.000
Looking at all of you this morning, I tell you, it's just amazing.
00:01:17.000
And I know you're going to see photos of this shot,
00:01:20.000
but this is the highlight of my career right now this morning.
00:01:24.000
Most of you are here today because you have a personal cancer story,
00:01:31.000
If you or they have received treatment or care at any of the cancer facilities,
00:01:37.000
any cancer facility in this province, as a matter of fact,
00:01:40.000
you have already benefited from the dollars raised by the ride.
00:01:45.000
It could have been something as simple as a comfy chemo chair,
00:01:51.000
or perhaps you know somebody who was part of a clinical trial.
00:01:54.000
All of your riding and fundraising done this year and over the past 11 years
00:02:02.000
We would like to ask Chris Mara with KPMG to bring us the envelope
00:02:21.000
I am pleased to announce that we have raised an amazing $5.9 million.
00:02:49.000
We will thank you for every single dollar you have raised
00:02:52.000
and every kilometer you have trained in anticipation of today.
00:02:57.000
Puff it out here on year 11 of the Enbridge Ride to Coffee Cancer
00:03:04.000
$5.9 million raised for the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
00:03:15.000
We've got a photography team at the start line here.
00:03:26.000
1,255 riders making your way through this tube.
00:03:36.000
It's going up tomorrow on Mary Beth coming all through.
00:03:40.000
Now I know that a lot of you back there are waiting for a little bit.
00:03:45.000
So I was told a very nice tip of how to stay warm.
00:04:30.000
I don't think it was a great time to talk to you.
00:04:45.000
It's a lovely ride out here north of Calgary today.
00:05:55.360
So here we have Stacy, and Stacy is with us at the second stop for about 60, 65k in.
00:06:02.880
It's surprisingly really, really, really upbeat, and everybody's pushing each other,
00:06:08.520
so you kind of just follow along and there you go.
00:06:12.040
I've only been riding for about two months, so the fact that I've gotten this far and
00:06:16.360
It's all about pacing yourself, don't you think?
00:06:26.440
I know, and I got to do still more yet to come, so...
00:06:37.640
You didn't ride much last year, but you got to this point.
00:06:43.480
This is where the ride was cancelled last year, so...
00:06:46.880
This is pretty much as far as we got last year, and we still have about another 35 or
00:06:59.660
It's kind of an up and down hilly ride, but nothing terribly steep.
00:07:02.640
So, wonderful ride, and everybody seems to be, as Stacey said, upbeat.
00:07:07.740
And everybody's fighting cancer, so you can't do much better than that, can you?
00:07:12.320
With us, we're at the 60-65k ride, and I am really impressed with you.
00:07:23.040
Now we have to really drop you in the last 35k, you know.
00:07:38.040
Yeah, there were a number of, you know, longer, steeper hills coming into Cremona.
00:07:43.400
And you're absolutely right, because the first part was kind of just up and down, up and
00:07:47.140
I'm not sure that we have all of that behind us now, but we can only hope, right?
00:07:58.900
There are with Mr. Willis, and we're 65k into the ride.
00:08:07.400
The first half has been challenging, but let's see how the second half is, and we can talk
00:08:14.700
Yeah, and it's warmed up a lot since the spring.
00:08:18.460
Now, sleeves have gone, jacket has gone, and we're getting good.
00:11:03.760
We've got three hours and 37 minutes of riding in right now
00:11:31.920
Turn it to T-Man Ridge with the GoPro on the head
00:12:48.220
Where everybody's going to keep their bikes tonight
00:13:57.180
Looking forward to getting out on the road again
00:14:05.340
How are you feeling about the ride today folks?
00:19:50.560
How many of you have been here since the start?
00:19:56.560
We have come down here and been here since the start.
00:20:04.560
Or since the beginning of the finish line as well.
00:20:18.560
First one time, you know, other people should join.
00:20:28.560
And, guys, it's been so much fun riding with you.
