Hi, it's John and welcome to the channel 502 AM, Sunday, February the 1st. I hope you're
00:00:07.940
having a great start to your Sunday and the first day of February as well with the big
00:00:12.620
blue mug of coffee. And this one might get a little bit weird, but stick with me on this.
00:00:19.840
I have this strange feeling we're reliving last year over again. And I've had this feeling
00:00:25.660
for about a week. And I'm going to show you what started this feeling of deja vu for me
00:00:30.620
about a week ago. And I'm going to play some clips here, but trust me, they're all really
00:00:34.380
short to keep this video down to a minimum. But I feel like we're reliving last year over
00:00:39.680
again. I'll explain more about that in a moment. But I woke up this morning at about two o'clock
00:00:43.540
this morning, I sent an email to myself and I sent two words and it was doom loop. Okay.
00:00:50.560
Stick with me. What is a doom loop? Well, it's a self-reinforcing cycle where one
00:00:55.540
negative event or condition triggers another, exacerbating the original problem and causing
00:01:00.040
a downward spiral. As a matter of fact, when I sent that email, I thought about an episode of
00:01:05.880
Star Trek The Next Generation. And for those of you who know the program, you might remember an
00:01:11.660
episode called Cause and Effect. At the beginning of the program, the Enterprise is destroyed and
00:01:17.700
you're seeing that video on the screen right now. But after they come back from the opening credits,
00:01:22.380
you see the Enterprise is fine, but it gets destroyed many times throughout the program
00:01:26.780
until they figure out how to get out of this loop and they save the Enterprise. And I'm going to
00:01:32.160
provide you with a solution to the doom loop at the end of this video. But that's how I feel things
00:01:37.100
are going. Now, why do I feel this way? Why have I had this feeling of deja vu and that we're reliving
00:01:43.540
last year over again? Well, where were we at this point last year in Canada? Carney had been around
00:01:51.540
for a couple of weeks. He announced his liberal leadership run on the 16th of January, if I
00:01:56.080
remember correctly. The conservatives were still riding pretty high in the polls, but everybody
00:02:01.320
was so excited about the conservative party. Everybody was so excited about Pierre Polyev because
00:02:06.860
we thought we were going to win a huge election. These people were really excited, save a few of them
00:02:11.920
who dropped out of this event, were really excited about the prospects for a conservative government
00:02:16.820
that were coming up. And where do we stand right now? Well, we've got Carney as the prime minister and
00:02:22.600
we just had the conservative convention over the weekend and everybody's so excited about Pierre Polyev.
00:02:28.740
Everybody's so excited about the conservative party. These people are excited about the conservative
00:02:34.120
party, save a few of them that dropped out. And everybody think there's a bright future coming
00:02:38.640
because an election's on the horizon, which we thought exactly the same thing last year.
00:02:43.500
And the crazy thing about it is everybody right now is saying exactly what they were saying last
00:02:51.740
year, which we heard a hundred times, which I talked about here on the channel, which you're well aware
00:02:56.740
of. But where this really started to dawn on me that we were reliving the same thing over again
00:03:03.400
and that we're getting into a doom loop was when Mark Carney put out a video about a week ago
00:03:07.820
that I called an election ad. And again, this is exactly what he was saying last year. Just a short
00:03:16.060
Canada's new government is doing the same with our new by Canadian policy. We're on a mission to build
00:03:22.900
big for millions of homes that will improve affordability to major projects that will
00:03:29.780
Those are basically the same things Carney has been saying since January 16th last year when he became
00:03:35.260
a candidate to run for the liberal leadership. And then we got the conservative convention here in
00:03:40.660
Calgary over the weekend. Everybody's high on the conservative party and Pierre Polyev wins 87.5%
00:03:47.180
of the vote. He did a great speech the other night. I was very complimentary of his speech,
00:03:51.820
but it was the same thing he's been saying over the last year or so. I got that feeling of deja vu again.
00:03:57.440
You probably did. I broke this great speech down, which went on for about 35 minutes to about 15 seconds
00:04:06.240
We won the debate in the last election on every single one of the big issues on carbon taxes,
00:04:12.120
inflation, housing, resources, crime, drugs. And soon we will be proven right once again
00:04:21.640
And what was Pierre Polyev saying over the last year?
00:04:24.940
The liberals drove a half a trillion dollars of investment to the United States, mostly
00:04:34.960
Canadians will hold account by their experience at the grocery store.
00:04:38.200
Our youth need homes, jobs and hope. This prime minister only offers them broken promises.
00:04:45.580
And Mark Carney has said he will not change any of the catch and release liberal laws.
00:04:49.980
They want to go ahead and take nearly a billion dollars away from border security and police officers
00:04:58.000
to go after licensed, law-abiding, trained and tested hunters and sports shooters.
00:05:02.900
And there were others there this weekend who had the same message that they've been saying for the last year.
00:05:08.420
Danielle Smith, very high profile. She only spoke for 10 minutes, but I can use her as an example as well.
00:05:14.200
They placed a production cap on our nation's most valuable strategic asset, the Alberta oil sands.
00:05:21.880
And along with it, an effective moratorium on the pipelines and oil tankers needed to take that oil
00:05:30.340
They put a Greenpeace activist, Stephen Guibault,
00:05:41.600
Conservatives believe in enhancing economic opportunity for indigenous communities
00:05:46.780
by providing ownership stakes and assets that will create billions of dollars in revenue
00:05:51.640
every single year, like pipelines and mines and countless other projects.
00:05:57.000
And here is some of what she was saying last year.
00:05:59.860
Measures like the emissions cap, the net zero electricity regs,
00:06:03.380
the net zero electric vehicle mandate and the energy industry advertising ban
00:06:09.040
So extremist former environment minister, Stephen Guibault, is still in cabinet.
00:06:14.360
I want for us to be able to build economic corridors.
00:06:17.780
I want us to be able to develop all of our resources from oil and gas
00:06:21.000
all the way through to critical minerals and beyond.
00:06:26.500
but I could have made them much longer to prove my point.
00:06:28.780
I just wanted to make sure this video didn't get to be too long.
00:06:31.680
But things seem oddly familiar to me right now.
00:06:35.060
Maybe they're feeling that way for you as well.
00:06:37.360
The Conservatives are very high on themselves right now.
00:06:45.320
He just had a leadership review and did quite well.
00:06:56.020
the Conservatives and the Liberals, as they did last year.
00:07:08.060
And what needs to happen to get out of the doom loop?
00:07:12.640
And I think Polyev blew a golden opportunity the other night
00:07:17.740
And I said this during my analysis of his video the other day.
00:07:23.340
The fate of the Conservative Party and Pierre Polyev are in their hands.
00:07:27.680
He didn't address them the other night during his speech.
00:07:31.100
But the baby boomers have got to get their head straight.
00:07:33.780
They've got to start thinking logically and not emotionally.
00:07:36.300
They've got to start thinking like a Conservative and not like a Liberal.
00:07:43.500
But more importantly, they've got to win a majority.
00:07:46.500
Because if they win a minority, the first opportunity, the other parties vote non-confidence in the government.
00:07:59.960
Do you think the Conservative Party and Pierre Polyev can win a majority government when we have an election?
00:08:17.100
By the end of this year, Pierre Polyev will either be Prime Minister of Canada
00:08:21.360
or he will be in the category with Joe Clark of one of the biggest political losers of all time.
00:08:36.480
If you liked the video, please give it a thumbs up.
