Today's episode of The Big Blue Mug of Coffee is all about the upcoming leadership debate between Chrystia Freeland, Frank Bayless, Karina Gould, and Jason Kenney. I have some questions for the big dog, Mark Carney.
00:00:14.500Do you believe the Liberal Party of Canada would sacrifice you as a Canadian taxpayer and the Canadian economy to maintain power in Canada?
00:00:37.860It'll be interesting to hear what they say, but who really cares what Chrystia Freeland, Frank Bayless, and Karina Gould say in these two debates?
00:00:44.080Everybody's waiting to hear what Carney has to say.
00:00:47.520A little housekeeping before I move on.
00:00:49.340Thanks so much for watching yesterday's video.
00:01:09.420Hannah Thebedo, the former CBC host, will be moderating the English debate.
00:01:15.520That's going to work out well, isn't it?
00:01:17.880Former CBC host talking to a bunch of Liberals on stage.
00:01:20.880So the question I asked you, do you think the Liberals would sacrifice you as a Canadian taxpayer and the Canadian economy to maintain power?
00:05:13.460Let's go back to his article just quickly here.
00:05:15.340In Canada, we have a high regulatory burden, and our biggest trading partner and competitor for investments is about to have a much lower burden.
00:05:23.620That will make Canada less attractive to investment and to executives making decisions on where to expand or locate plants.
00:05:31.460And if we go down here, a few weeks ago, in Halifax, liberal leadership hopeful Mark Carney announced he would get rid of the consumer carbon tax,
00:05:38.740but then said he'd make up the difference by increasing the industrial carbon tax.
00:05:42.160We will get the big polluters to pay for it, Carney said.
00:05:44.900So the big polluters are the big businesses.
00:05:47.280He's going to tax the bejesus out of them when it comes to the carbon tax.
00:05:50.040It will probably go up every year like it has with your carbon tax every April 1st, but you're going to pay for it anyway.
00:05:55.900Plus, he's going to put tariffs on anything that comes into the country that doesn't live up to his climate change zealotry.
00:06:01.580And my question for Mark Carney tonight, if I were the moderator, maybe you would ask this question.
00:06:05.820Are you still a proponent of net zero?
00:06:09.860No, I don't think anybody's asked him that question.
00:06:38.460Where does your allegiance lie, Mr. Carney, with rebuilding the Canadian economy, getting our renewables out of the ground, including oil and gas, or making money for you and your buddies when it comes to net zero?
00:06:49.380Because I think we need to have those questions answered.
00:06:51.600Does he really think imposing carbon tariffs on things coming into the country is the right thing for Canada right now?
00:07:05.740You think Donald Trump is going to like that?
