00:00:00.160 Hi, it's John and welcome to the channel. It is Saturday, June the 21st, 444 a.m. with the big blue mug of coffee.
00:00:07.360 Hope you're having a great day today. Hope your weather is better where you live compared to where I live.
00:00:12.500 Here in Calgary, pouring rain all night. Some areas of southern Alberta expecting 200 millimeters of rain.
00:00:18.520 Here in Calgary, we could see 50 or 60. So it's going to be a wet one today.
00:00:22.080 So just going to take the day off from bike riding and clean up my basement.
00:00:25.540 But again, I hope you're having a great day. And if you're a subscriber here, thanks so much.
00:00:30.000 If you're not, please click on subscribe. Thank you very much.
00:00:33.740 So today, boy, this could be a controversial one.
00:00:37.140 But I want you to know this. I hold no ill will.
00:00:40.960 I love everybody and all people equally.
00:00:44.540 But this one really pisses me off.
00:00:47.540 And it probably pisses you off as well.
00:00:50.520 And people who agree with what this man said or be calling the ist word starts with an R.
00:00:56.520 And I don't believe that I'm an R with an ist after it.
00:01:00.000 I just happen to agree with what he said because I have questions regarding this issue.
00:01:04.880 And if we can't ask questions regarding certain things, we will never get them resolved.
00:01:09.960 So what did you think when Doug Ford said this?
00:01:14.020 This is like handing an opportunity on a silver platter to First Nations that I, by the way, I have treated like gold.
00:01:23.180 And over and over again, the chiefs, national chiefs, the regional chiefs, other chiefs have told me we've never had more access to a premier ever as long as they can remember.
00:01:34.580 So, like I tell Rickford all the time, I should be the minister of Indigenous Affairs because I get calls every single day.
00:01:41.580 And when I first came into office, I told Minister Rickford, treat them all, give them what they need, whatever they want for them to prosper.
00:01:49.200 But there's going to be a point that you can't just keep coming hat in hand all the time to the government.
00:01:56.020 You've got to be able to take care of yourselves.
00:01:57.660 Was Doug Ford wrong when he said that?
00:02:01.920 Well, I think Doug Ford believes that 100% or he wouldn't have said it.
00:02:06.060 But of course, he was raked over the coals, called the R with an ist word over and over again online.
00:02:12.360 And of course, he's knelt down and apologized.
00:02:15.240 I just want to say I sincerely apologize for my words, not only if it hurt all the chiefs in that room, but all First Nations.
00:02:22.660 Because we know that if we work together, and I said during the campaign, nothing moves without First Nations consultation, respecting duty to consult, and make sure that we work together.
00:02:41.880 Doug Ford said that Indigenous groups come hat in hand.
00:02:45.860 And that's why he was criticized for saying what he did.
00:02:49.180 That's why he was called the R word.
00:02:51.160 I don't think he's wrong.
00:02:53.980 And I think a lot of people agree with me.
00:02:58.280 What is reconciliation?
00:03:00.320 We hear about this all the time.
00:03:01.960 Politicians throw it around all the time.
00:03:04.100 What does reconciliation mean?
00:03:06.280 Well, let's look up the dictionary definition of reconciliation.
00:03:10.140 Here it is.
00:03:10.920 The restoration of friendly relations.
00:03:12.740 Is calling somebody who lives in this country like myself a settler, a colonizer?
00:03:20.900 I see on X all the time.
00:03:23.140 I'm called a white devil for living in the country I was born in.
00:03:27.060 Is that reconciliation?
00:03:28.480 Now, I don't believe the people Doug Ford was standing with in that second video think I'm a white devil.
00:03:35.040 But I think some of them would call me a settler.
00:03:37.700 I think some of them would call me a colonizer.
00:03:39.960 They would say I'm living on their land.
00:03:41.540 Can we achieve reconciliation if people think that about me and probably about you?
00:03:46.280 I've said for a long time there will never be reconciliation because the grift will have to end.
00:03:54.020 And the grift is you can continue to go hat in hand to the government.
00:03:58.360 I saw this online and this is some numbers.
00:04:01.940 I'm not sure if these are exactly true, but I'm thinking that perhaps that they are.
00:04:06.140 But here, take a look at this.
00:04:07.220 These are the 10 organizations with the highest total transfer payment budget.
00:04:11.140 Number one, the Department of Indigenous Services at $21.1 billion.
00:04:16.280 And number three, Department of Crown Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs at $8.16 billion.
00:04:22.780 That amounts to about $30 billion a year.
00:04:26.900 And I'm sure there's lots more grants and money going out all the time for Indigenous people in this country.
00:04:32.820 Now, if you just take this $30 billion, and according to what I found online,
00:04:37.340 about 1.6 million Indigenous people in Canada,
00:04:41.300 that amounts to over $18,000 for every man, woman, and child that considers themselves Indigenous in this country.
00:04:53.020 I've referenced it before.
00:04:54.360 Corey Morgan went east of Calgary, went on to the reserve here, and people live in squalor.
00:04:58.900 There's that old saying,
00:05:00.140 there's a reason the chief's driveway is always paved.
00:05:03.360 My favorite website has one.
00:05:04.820 There's always a big screen TV.
00:05:06.140 I used to live in Cornwall, Ontario.
00:05:08.900 We had people coming from the north almost every year.
00:05:11.740 Indigenous people, their place would be flooded every year,
00:05:16.580 and you'd see them living in squalor.
00:05:18.220 They had a satellite dish on the side of their house and a 75-inch TV on their wall.
00:05:22.160 But they live in squalor.
00:05:24.440 And again, I hold no ill will against these people,
00:05:27.140 but when does it end?
00:05:29.380 How much do we have to give?
00:05:31.480 Is there a number?
00:05:32.780 Is it a trillion dollars?
00:05:34.060 Is it $500 billion?
00:05:35.700 So we can finally end this, and we can live and have reconciliation.
00:05:40.640 Instead, we get crap like this.
00:05:42.880 I referenced it in a video I did yesterday.
00:05:45.800 But this is the modern-day equivalent of handing $24 over to Buy Manhattan.
00:05:51.940 Thank you.
00:05:52.900 Thank you for your patience and understanding through this process.
00:05:57.280 Your role in this moment matters.
00:06:00.440 And this is more than just about a new address.
00:06:05.260 It's about participating in reconciliation in a very tangible way and a visible way.
00:06:11.960 Schmuckwe Awesome Street is now a permanent part of Vancouver's landscape.
00:06:16.800 It reflects a broader commitment to acknowledge the truth,
00:06:21.000 to honour Indigenous knowledge and history,
00:06:23.840 and to build a more inclusive future.
00:06:27.520 As we continue our work as a city of reconciliation,
00:06:31.260 let this street stand as a reminder that we're not just making symbolic changes.
00:06:36.260 We're changing how we see our past
00:06:38.160 and how we engage with one another
00:06:41.100 and how we move forward together.
00:06:43.180 No doubt Doug Ford is frustrated
00:06:46.000 because these Aboriginal groups want to stand in the way of progress in this country.
00:06:52.000 Most politicians want these people, the Aboriginal groups, to be prosperous.
00:06:56.700 And they can be.
00:06:57.980 They need to get the hell out of the way.
00:06:59.920 We see stuff like this all the time.
00:07:01.580 First Nations, you say they're starting a movement against major projects bills.
00:07:05.280 Who's funding these people?
00:07:06.500 I know that at least $30 billion is going out of the Canadian taxpayers' pocket every year
00:07:12.920 to fund Aboriginal groups.
00:07:14.920 Who's funding them to stand in the way?
00:07:17.660 It happens here in Alberta as well.
00:07:21.220 And then we get these,
00:07:22.600 you're a colonialist, you're a colonizer, you're a settler, you're a white devil.
00:07:28.180 Is this the restoration of friendly relations?
00:07:30.700 Is this reconciliation?
00:07:32.720 It's ridiculous.
00:07:34.020 When does it end?
00:07:36.500 I don't think Doug Ford was wrong.
00:07:39.360 And I don't think he was insensitive in the way he said it
00:07:42.960 because I think that's exactly what happens.
00:07:45.080 They come hat in hand.
00:07:46.940 It's like they own everything.
00:07:48.660 And they don't.
00:07:50.940 Listen, if you like land acknowledgements
00:07:52.840 and you think you live on somebody else's land
00:07:55.020 and you think you've stolen land,
00:07:57.700 give up your land.
00:07:59.420 Give up your property.
00:08:00.600 Otherwise, it's just useless virtue signaling.
00:08:03.580 That's all I got to say in this subject.
00:08:05.360 Thanks for watching today.
00:08:06.480 Saturday, June 21st.
00:08:07.820 It's now 5.05 a.m.
00:08:09.540 Hope you have a great day today.
00:08:12.020 If you like the video, please give me a thumbs up.

00:08:16.080 And I'll see you in the next one.
00:08:18.060 Thank you.
00:08:18.540 Thank you.
00:08:19.520 Thank you.
00:08:21.580 Bye-bye.
00:08:26.060 Thank you.
00:08:29.900 Thank you.
