00:00:00.000 Mr. Speaker, countries around the world are opening up, even countries with lower vaccination
00:00:08.040 rates than Canada. Provinces are beginning to lift restrictions and getting life back
00:00:13.620 to normal. Why? Because they're following the science. Canadians are ready to get their
00:00:18.840 life back. But it seems like the Prime Minister wants to live in a permanent pandemic. Dr.
00:00:24.240 Hamm, Dr. Tam, Dr. Henry, Dr. Moore, Dr. Hinshaw, Dr. Shahab all agree it's time to shift out
00:00:31.640 of the restrictions and back to normal life. So why is the Prime Minister so offside, not
00:00:37.360 only with the science, but it would seem like with a growing number of his own MPs?
00:00:42.600 The Right Honourable Prime Minister.
00:00:46.040 On the contrary, Mr. Speaker, we intend to follow the science and are working closely with Dr.
00:00:53.720 Tam and other public health officials to ensure that we get through this pandemic as best
00:00:59.040 we possibly can. And that has been through vaccinations. The fact that nine out of ten Canadians have
00:01:04.660 gotten vaccinated is one of the reasons why we're able to get through this, is why we've
00:01:10.740 been able to prevent our health systems from being completely overrun. Vaccinations are the
00:01:15.560 thing through this. That's why we're continuing to encourage Canadians to get vaccinated, why
00:01:21.340 unfortunately the Conservatives are against vaccination is, quite frankly, belonging.
00:01:26.340 The Honourable Leader of the Opposition.
00:01:28.340 Well, the science and the evidence is just simply not on the Prime Minister's side.
00:01:34.340 Many of the reasons previously used to keep Canadians under restrictions are vanishing before our eyes.
00:01:40.340 Other countries are opening up. Provinces are opening up. As he just said, 90% of Canadians have the vaccine.
00:01:48.340 The Prime Minister needs to put his ego aside. He needs to do what's right for the country.
00:01:55.340 He needs to end the mandates. He needs to end the restrictions. He needs to listen to his own caucus.
00:02:01.340 Will he do that?
00:02:05.340 The right Honourable Prime Minister.
00:02:08.340 Canada and Canadians have made it through this pandemic better than many other places because Canadians stepped up.
00:02:15.340 They were there for each other. Their government had their backs. We worked closely with provincial and territorial leaders.
00:02:23.340 Every step of the way, we kept focusing on vaccinations, on public health supports, on business supports.
00:02:30.340 It's allowed us through. And Canadians are continuing to get vaccinated.
00:02:33.340 60,000 Canadians got vaccinated with their first dose just last week.
00:02:39.340 We are continuing to make sure Canadians get vaccinated because this is how we get through this pandemic.
00:02:45.340 The Honourable Leader of the Opposition.
00:02:48.340 Mr. Speaker, we know this Prime Minister has politicized the pandemic.
00:02:52.340 This summer, as BC was burning, Afghanistan was falling, and we were in the fourth wave of a pandemic.
00:02:58.340 The Prime Minister called an unnecessary $600 million election to capitalize on this crisis.
00:03:04.340 According to a senior Liberal MP, a decision was made to wedge, to divide, and to stigmatize.
00:03:11.340 So, a country more divided than ever before.
00:03:15.340 Can the Prime Minister tell Canadians why he would politicize the pandemic?
00:03:19.340 Why he would try to stigmatize Canadians?
00:03:22.340 Why would he do this to a country that is already suffering and deeply damaged by so many of his policies?
00:03:28.340 Why?
00:03:29.340 The right Honourable Prime Minister.
00:03:32.340 Mr. Speaker, let's talk about last year's election.
00:03:37.340 It was an opportunity for Canadians to weigh in on the path forward for our country, on how to continue to fight this pandemic.
00:03:45.340 And what we saw, unfortunately, from the Conservative Party of Canada was a refusal to step up on vaccination.
00:03:52.340 A refusal to follow science.
00:03:54.340 As they were talking about how we get through this pandemic, they couldn't ensure their own MPs got vaccinated.
00:04:03.340 Mr. Speaker, Canadians spoke loudly and clearly in the last election that science and vaccination was the way through.
00:04:12.340 They gave us in this House a mandate to move forward on that, and we did.
00:04:17.340 The Honourable Leader of the Opposition.
00:04:19.340 The Prime Minister is clearly trying to strategically and very selfishly divide and stigmatize Canadians.
00:04:27.340 Mr. Speaker, we live in a beautiful country.
00:04:31.340 But our country is suffering.
00:04:33.340 Our country is divided.
00:04:35.340 Our country is tired.
00:04:37.340 And they need leadership.
00:04:39.340 So again, I'm going to ask the Prime Minister.
00:04:42.340 His senior Liberal MP said that there is a strategic decision made on that side to stigmatize, and these are not my words, stigmatize, divide and wedge.
00:04:53.340 This is what the Prime Minister did.
00:04:55.340 Why?
00:04:56.340 The Right Honourable Prime Minister.
00:04:59.340 Mr. Speaker, what Canadians have needed through this pandemic and what this government has provided has been responsible leadership that put the health and safety of Canadians first and foremost.
00:05:11.340 That's exactly what we did.
00:05:13.340 That's exactly what we talked about in the last election campaign.
00:05:16.340 That's exactly what we're going to continue to do in following the science.
00:05:20.340 But you talk about, the member opposite talks about Canadians suffering.
00:05:24.340 Supply chains disrupted.
00:05:26.340 Canadians in their homes worried of walking their streets because they continue to support blockades that are hurting businesses across the country.
00:05:36.340 Will the Conservative leader stand up and condemn those blockades?
00:05:39.440 Mr. Speaker.
00:05:40.340 Where were we, let's go
00:05:41.340 Ooh, let's go
00:05:42.340 Yeah, no, no, no, no, no.
00:05:43.340 You're not so sorry.
00:05:44.340 We didn't want any 했어요 to know his teamEvery last round.
00:05:45.340 About a second one we decided can't do successful reform grandes front of the law firm,Sim, America.
00:05:48.340 No, no, no.
