00:00:00.000 The poll reported yesterday, done by DART Maroub-Blue, and commissioned by the National Post,
00:00:11.400 said that more than two-thirds of Canadians think the country is heading in the wrong
00:00:16.140 direction. That shouldn't surprise anyone really. What is more surprising, I suppose,
00:00:22.920 is that it wasn't unanimous, or that any Canadian doesn't think that Canada is heading
00:00:29.960 in the wrong direction. What is stunning, too, is the incompetence being displayed by the
00:00:37.760 government in Ottawa. The stock market's just lost five trillion dollars in just a few short
00:00:45.140 days, globally, on fears that the coronavirus is not under control and could trigger a global
00:00:51.520 pandemic. A frightening thought. The coronavirus has spread into South Korea, from China, and
00:00:58.880 into Italy. Countries are banning flights from China, and those countries as well. Rail blockades
00:01:05.540 are crippling the Canadian economy, and as the poll showed, the dissatisfaction is highest
00:01:12.640 in Alberta. And why not? The government of Justin Trudeau acts as though Alberta just simply
00:01:18.900 doesn't matter. The country is divided, and it's not getting any less divided, as Western
00:01:25.040 resentment towards Ottawa and Quebec is reaching an unprecedented level, not seen in my lifetime.
00:01:31.700 And the Prime Minister seems oblivious to it all. Yesterday, he was tweeting about the plight
00:01:38.300 of the North Atlantic right whales, and how he was dispatching a couple of cabinet ministers
00:01:43.700 to put in place new measures to do, well, we're not sure exactly what. The rail blockades are being
00:01:53.540 done in some way as support for the Wet'suwet and hereditary chiefs, who are getting an inordinate 0.98
00:02:00.440 amount of attention, undeserved in my opinion. They speak for no one, they control nothing, and seemingly are
00:02:08.000 controlled by the American enviroactivist groups. Must any politician give them a moment of attention?
00:02:14.660 The downstream effects of the government's inaction on these blockades is more than a little troubling.
00:02:21.320 Despite the Prime Minister attempting tough talk and saying the blockades must come down, they are still
00:02:28.940 popping up randomly, most everywhere, and causing all manner of supply issues, as well as shipping
00:02:36.260 backlog in the ports, and the RCMP and the OPP seem handcuffed in their response. The video of anarchists
00:02:44.580 setting fires beside the rail line and throwing things at passing trains while OPP officers observe
00:02:50.900 them from an overpass nearby is very unsettling. Actually, it's disgusting. Who was holding them back from
00:02:58.500 doing their job, and why? Add to that the cancellation of the tech resources frontier
00:03:06.100 mine project in northern Alberta, and with that, the $20 billion investment into an Alberta economy that
00:03:13.700 desperately needs it. Tech laid the blame squarely at the feet of the Trudeau government, and the
00:03:20.980 regulations and hoops they had to jump through until finally they just said they'd had enough. They'd spent
00:03:27.220 enough time, energy, money, and resources, and were just still being stymied by the government, and they'd had enough.
00:03:34.180 And Trudeau is tweeting about right whales. He came to power in 2015, promising to transform the country's
00:03:43.300 relationship with its indigenous communities. It certainly does not appear that anything has
00:03:49.220 transformed in the last five years except the Canadian economy, and not for the better. To compound
00:03:55.540 the problems, the Prime Minister has appointed the Health Minister, Patti Hajdu, to lead Canada's response
00:04:03.460 to the coronavirus, the global outbreak, before it becomes a pandemic. She's a former graphic designer.
00:04:10.740 Hajdu has worked in harm reduction and with the homeless in various roles. Her boss is a former drama
00:04:18.100 teacher and a substitute teacher. What could possibly go wrong? There hasn't been a more unqualified cabinet
00:04:27.220 in my lifetime, nor for that matter a more unqualified Prime Minister. There are a great many urgent and
00:04:37.140 serious problems facing the country right now, and we are being led by people who are wholly and totally
00:04:44.020 unqualified for the positions they hold. And the Prime Minister is tweeting about right whales.
