00:00:00.000 As the federal election campaign winds down in the final days it seems the
00:00:15.160 Prime Minister and his Liberal Party are doing their level best to not get elected.
00:00:19.680 Why would they choose this week to escalate their battle with the Ontario
00:00:24.660 government of Doug Ford over the issue of funding military veterans health care
00:00:30.000 expenses? This action threatens to leave a shortfall of millions of dollars in
00:00:34.680 hospitals in close proximity to military bases primarily in Pembroke, Kingston,
00:00:40.000 Trenton and Borden. Then there's the veteran Captain Kimberly Fawcett who fought
00:00:45.840 with the government to get a prosthetic leg paid for and was refused. While she
00:00:50.820 is running to be elected as an MP for the Conservatives against Bill Blair, the
00:00:55.620 Minister for Border Security and Organized Crime were some such. The problem for
00:01:01.920 Trudeau is that the optics of this look like yet another kick to the vets. Remember
00:01:08.120 when he told one veteran at town hall,
00:01:10.300 they're asking for more than we are able to give right now. Yet in the past year he
00:01:15.760 has spent billions of dollars to assist third world countries with their health
00:01:19.900 care and other endeavors, never mind our veterans. But we gave Uganda $451 million
00:01:26.980 and the Congo $359 million just to name a couple of the blunders of this Prime
00:01:32.060 Minister. But it's not just veterans he has alienated. He has managed to alienate much if
00:01:38.020 not all of Western Canada. I was in Edmonton on the weekend at a family
00:01:42.400 wedding. The usual rule of thumb at a family event like that is not to talk
00:01:46.840 about politics. But at this wedding many folks were talking about this election
00:01:51.400 and about how angry they are at this Liberal government. There are so many
00:01:55.780 folks who are out of work because of the policies of this government. People are
00:02:00.160 having trouble meeting their mortgage payments, putting food in their tables and
00:02:03.900 dreading the upcoming winter with the increased costs to heat their homes. The
00:02:10.440 anger is palpable. This has triggered a Western separation movement the like of
00:02:16.320 which we haven't seen since Pierre Trudeau was the Prime Minister and in the
00:02:20.400 days of the NEP that was so hated in Alberta. It cost many jobs and the collapse
00:02:25.800 of many companies such as Dome Petroleum. The difference this time is that
00:02:30.780 Saskatchewan and BC are feeling the same alienation. In the 80s Saskatchewan had an
00:02:36.240 NDP government and no energy sector to speak of. It's totally different now with
00:02:41.160 the vibrant energy sector after the successive and successful governments of
00:02:45.660 Brad Wall and Scott Moe. Most of BC, save and except for the lower mainland, is
00:02:51.120 looking forward to jobs created by LNG and pipeline construction. But then there's
00:02:56.580 the Trudeau government which is standing in the way of economic growth in favor of their
00:03:01.200 dubious religion of climate change. And that is what it is, a religion with no basis in
00:03:07.540 scientific fact. And then there is the rise of the Bloc Québécois in Quebec. Left four
00:03:13.340 dead after their successes in the 90s, they seem to be back on their eyes and could gain
00:03:18.380 enough seats in the election to actually hold a balance of power in the next government depending
00:03:23.420 on the way things evolve. It's an amazing record Justin Trudeau has put together. He's pissed off
00:03:30.800 the West, in particular Alberta, which historically has paid the bills for the whole country. He has
00:03:37.140 pissed off BC, which leans to the center politically because his policies have prevented economic
00:03:42.740 expansion in pipelines and LNG. He has pissed off Saskatchewan by not encouraging their energy
00:03:49.340 sector growth. And he has pissed off Quebec and caused the renewal of a left for dead separatist
00:03:56.440 political party. What does he do for an encore in the next four years if he gets re-elected?
00:04:02.460 Never mind the blackface, reporter groping, media exclusion, profligate spending, kissing up to the UN,
00:04:09.460 obstruction of justice, excommunicating strong female MPs, being guilty of two ethics violations,
00:04:16.160 and he has managed to divide the nation in all regions. No easy feat. For True North, I'm Leo Knight.
