00:00:33.040 put out a video on Twitter detailing from her side what had happened with the bosses at CTV News.
00:00:38.200 That video on Twitter has over 4.5 million views. That is more views than any one of these legacy
00:00:44.580 media outlets could ever dream of getting if their entire networks depended on it. Nobody could even
00:00:49.780 come close to 4.5 million views on cable news broadcasts. And it happened on social media

00:01:47.400 was going on in Ottawa during the protest. But no, all of a sudden, because the biggest legacy media name

00:01:57.600 though we feel bad. Canadians don't trust you guys anymore. They just simply don't. And you've done

00:02:17.660 will never trust legacy media outlets again. Now, when the news dropped that Lisa Laflamme had been
00:02:22.200 fired by CTV, CTV News immediately announced the replacement, Omar Satchadina, a national news
00:02:28.540 correspondent, someone who I think has respect in the legacy media game, but probably not in the rest
00:02:33.380 of Canada because we all know what the rest of Canada thinks about these guys. But nonetheless,
00:02:37.540 Omar Satchadina got the job from Lisa Laflamme. Now, if you're looking at this story from the
00:02:42.020 perspective I was originally, you're probably thinking to yourself, they want to shuffle out the
00:02:45.280 old white voice to bring in a new fresh face that satisfies the lefty box checkers. But actually,
00:02:50.820 it turns out that with some good reporting from Brian Lilly over at the Toronto Sun,
00:02:55.620 it looks like the story's a bit more different than that. It seems as though Bell Media were
00:03:00.400 struggling to pay the giant salary of their biggest star. That's because these legacy media outlets
00:03:05.360 have a failing business model. They pay way too much money for journalists that nobody reads and
00:03:09.640 nobody watches anymore. So sure enough, sooner or later, all these businesses, all these corporate
00:03:15.180 media businesses are going to end up making the exact same moves. They're going to cut their biggest
00:03:19.160 talent to try and bring in someone cheaper who can do the exact same job. It's not going to impact

00:03:31.900 to pick up a cable box now and turn on CTV News primetime. That's not going to happen for you guys.
00:03:36.960 Every single blue check lefty journalist in Canada decided to come out and bash Bell Media. They said,
00:03:42.560 this is a terrible decision. How can they get rid of their biggest star? And they don't even realize,
00:03:47.800 guys, that it's going to be them next. Them on their inflated salaries who aren't producing good
00:03:53.060 enough content to keep these ships alive. The cost cutting is going to continue. So they all came out
00:03:58.240 and they all said Bell Media made a big mistake. They shouldn't have done this. And I wanted to
00:04:02.200 highlight some of these ridiculous tweets. Look, we've got David Cochran over at the CBC. If you remember
00:04:06.660 David Cochran, Mr. Poutine Man. Well, he writes, my jaw's on the floor. Well, well, if I worked at
00:04:22.520 the CBC and I knew that my company was getting over a billion dollars every single year, my job
00:04:26.440 would be on the floor too. That never happened at the CBC. And we have David Aiken, who only had the
00:04:30.740 very worst things to say about people who protested in Ottawa. He writes, wow, your fans are blindsided
00:04:35.980 too, Lisa. No knock on Omar, but I cannot conceive of the Bell Media spreadsheet jockey that came up
00:04:40.880 with the formula that this was the best business decision for CTV's audience. Nuts. You don't
00:04:45.120 think so, David? Because I can. I can see exactly how this was the best business decision. You can't
00:04:49.420 pay journalists way too much money when all your businesses are failing. It's basic business. Guys,
00:04:54.320 honestly, these legacy media guys, they'll never learn. They are incapable of realizing that Canadians
00:04:59.980 don't trust them. They don't realize that True North, we're on the rise. Them over at CBC,
00:05:04.680 CTV, Global News, these big corporate cushy jobs, well, they're tanking. And I've talked to a bunch
