Summary
The lockdown is lifted, and people are ready to get back to their lives. I tell a story about the first day back at the gym after a lockdown, and how things have changed since then. I don't know about you, but I think it's pretty obvious that the mindset has changed since lockdown was lifted.

I want to tell a little story, a little anecdote, about why I think it is just plain obvious that
00:00:10.020
people all across Canada are ready to be done with these mandates, ready to be done with all
00:00:15.000
these overbearing COVID-19 rules. Yes, there's the poll numbers that say, all right, people are
00:00:19.980
wanting this show to pretty much be wrapped up right away. There's the public health officials
00:00:23.680
who are saying, we want to treat this like the flu. And then there are, of course, all the people
00:00:28.060
going to protests on Parliament Hill in Ottawa, you see it in Ontario, you see it throughout Alberta,
00:00:33.580
all of that happening. I want to tell a very simpler anecdote, though. It's something from my
00:00:37.660
daily life that I've been reflecting on the past few days. So Ontario just got out of its, I guess,
00:00:43.180
fourth lockdown, if you can believe it. That's unbelievable. Fourth lockdown. And I went right
00:00:48.040
back to living my life as soon as it was over, as soon as the lockdown lifted. And I went to the gym
00:00:52.740
right away on the first day, really just a few hours into the lockdown being lifted. And I always do
00:00:57.520
this whenever a lockdown has lifted. I'm like the first one back. And it's actually kind of odd that
00:01:02.660
I now can talk about having many experiences dealing with the first day after lockdown being
00:01:07.220
lifted. But anyway, so I go on the first day and I noticed that the first day at the gym was very
00:01:13.360
different than it's been in past first day after lockdown days. Now beforehand, you'd go back to the
00:01:19.440
gym the day after lockdown and it would be like, oh, we're walking out into this kind of new uncertain
00:01:25.180
terrain. What do we do? Be careful. You know, everybody's extra sort of cautious and showy
00:01:29.500
about the fact they're using the hand sanitizer and they're all quadruple checking the mask,
00:01:34.020
making sure it's on tight. And whatever protocols the person at the front has to administer,
00:01:38.580
whether it's the vaccine passport, relatively new. In past times, it was other protocols that
00:01:42.540
were very rigid about it all. And people were walking around the gym like very, oh, I've got to keep
00:01:46.820
my distance from this guy. I've got to show that, you know, I trust the science and everything.
00:01:50.300
I'm going to follow all the rules. I got to tell you, just the other day in Ontario when the lockdown
00:01:55.380
lifted, none of that. Absolutely none of it. People just walked in in droves. They're like,
00:02:01.120
hey, what's up? Yeah. And kind of just went through the motions following those things. You know,
00:02:05.860
okay, fine. I'll do the hand sanitizer thing. Oh, I'll write the mask. Okay. Anyway, back to business,
00:02:10.800
back to life. And I thought that that little incident that I experienced, that little situation,
00:02:15.940
I thought that was just so telling that folks of all walks of life, probably different political
00:02:21.280
views, go into the gym and just like, yeah, okay, I'm done. This lockdown that we last had,
00:02:26.680
we didn't particularly need it. I'm not aggressively scared of COVID anymore. Let's get on with our
00:02:32.500
lives. And I don't know how these people would answer public opinion polls in terms of lifting
00:02:36.600
restrictions. Yes or no. But it's pretty obvious that the mindset has shifted. It's pretty obvious
00:02:42.700
that everybody's ready to move forward, to make progress, to lift all of these rules. People
00:02:50.400
are ready. What's the holdup? Let's follow what all the other countries have done. And let's just do this
