00:00:00.000 It's kind of an awful notion to think there could be a silver lining to a second wave of the
00:00:10.000 coronavirus pandemic striking here in Canada. Nobody wants a second wave, nothing good can
00:00:15.800 come of it. But I guess if something good could come of it, it could possibly be that a second
00:00:22.500 wave is going to make Prime Minister Justin Trudeau perhaps drop some of the more outlandish
00:00:28.400 schemes. It seems he has planned for the throne speech that will be unveiled in the days ahead.
00:00:34.640 And well, at least that would be good news. So Justin Trudeau saying back a number of weeks ago
00:00:40.720 and hinting through a number of statements to the press, claims he was making, anonymous sources
00:00:45.460 stepping forward from the Liberal government to warn us about all this wild stuff that he has
00:00:49.700 planned for us, that he wants a more ambitious throne speech than he's ever done before, which
00:00:55.460 seems to be code word for going further left wing, more and more progressive, the phrase they like
00:01:01.520 to use. Perhaps more wealth redistribution, more government in your life, more government spending,
00:01:06.680 and of course, JT's favorite, more green scheme initiatives. He really loves that agenda. So he
00:01:13.000 was going to barrel forward with it. And there were Liberal anonymous sources stepping forward telling
00:01:17.560 all sorts of media outlets, watch out, we are worried about this. This is really going to be something.
00:01:24.380 And a lot in the business community stepping forward, sounding the alarm on it. Former Bank of Canada
00:01:29.660 Governor David Dodge stepping forward and even using a curse word to describe the financial
00:01:35.020 situation we are in. And he's a straight shooter who normally does not use language like that. So a lot
00:01:40.140 of people thought, wow, okay, this guy means business. Is Trudeau still going to do all of this crazy
00:01:46.420 stuff now? Now that we see a second wave coming in, a lot of people are not interested in this magical
00:01:52.780 green agenda that Trudeau is going to do. They're just interested in making it through the pandemic,
00:01:58.000 hoping there isn't further elements of lockdowns, hoping their families stay safe and healthy, and
00:02:02.980 that the economy remains intact. Hoping that it does not tank any further. Is Trudeau going to continue to
00:02:10.560 see opportunity in crisis and ram through his agenda? Or is he going to realize you've actually got
00:02:16.780 a situation unfolding on the ground that needs to be dealt with? Now, to be partially fair, back when
00:02:23.220 it seems like he conceived this magic green scheme throne speech, this was in the summer when the
00:02:28.420 coronavirus, we had a lot more under control and people were able to talk about other things. Of
00:02:33.560 course, the We Charity scandal, the whole reason he prorogued Parliament in the first place to sort of
00:02:38.400 distract from that, that was dominating the front pages. The pandemic was being managed. Things
00:02:44.280 weren't too bad. Now, they're getting a little further, I won't say out of control, but out of
00:02:49.820 reach and in ways that are frustrating and concerning a whole lot of people. So, we want to get this under
00:02:56.040 control. We don't want to have rising cases all across Canada. Maybe, though, it means Trudeau is
00:03:01.900 going to put a timeout on this very ambitious throne speech, and thankfully, we will be spared some of
00:03:07.880 the worst of his agenda.
