00:02:37.960And what do you think makes Canada such a great country to live in?
00:02:40.660It welcomes everybody. It's the place. It's, what can I say, right? It's paradise.
00:02:51.360I think we should celebrate it. I mean, you know, I came to Canada in 1988. It was a great country. I still love it. I'm very patriotic.
00:02:57.980And unfortunately, the last few years, it's kind of somewhat changed and went on a downhill.
00:03:02.780But I still think we should celebrate it. I mean, we're Canadian. We should.
00:03:06.500Right. And over the past few years, we've seen calls from people who want to almost make us feel bad about being Canadian and want to make us feel like we should feel sorry about things that happened 50, even 100 years ago.
00:03:19.200And that should kind of quiet down the celebrations of Canada Day. What do you think about those calls from people saying that, hey, you know, this is a place that we shouldn't feel proud to live in and a lot went wrong in this country?
00:03:30.240Well, that was 100 years ago, and none of us were alive back then. And we're not going to, we're not going to downtone the celebration of our country just because some people are a little soft about that stuff.
00:03:40.840So, no, if you don't want to celebrate it, don't celebrate it. Well, we're not pushing it on you. But the people that are Canadian and want to celebrate it, celebrate it. I don't see why we should downplay it.
00:03:50.040Last question I have for you is what makes Canada a great place to live in?
00:03:53.120Everyone says it. Everyone has the freedom. We can all sit here and, you know, argue about, oh, there's this, there's that. No, there's freedom.
00:04:03.000The thing is, I think now more people are kind of pushing their agenda. But it's like, no, look, Canada is the kind of place where you're allowed to do whatever you kind of want within its laws.
00:04:13.520But at the same time, don't push your agendas on people. Celebrate it. Like, I'm Filipino, and I'm still, you know, very in touch with my heritage and my Filipino culture.
00:04:22.600But it's within my house. When I'm outside my house, when I'm in Canadian land, you know, this is Canada. I've pretty much prospered here and grew up here.
00:04:31.060So I always say I'm Canadian, and it's always been good that way. I'm happy to be here.
00:04:36.120We're asking people if they think Canada is a country worth celebrating and being proud to live in.
00:04:42.800What do you think about people who say that we should feel sorry for ourselves about things that happened 50 to 100 years ago and we shouldn't be celebrating Canada Day?
00:05:52.880We're doing a video about Canada Day long weekend, and we're asking people if they think Canada is a country worth celebrating and being proud to live in.
00:06:01.460I think we should look at the past as, like, something that we should move forward from, not that we should, like, dwell upon and be so sad about,
00:06:10.580but, like, that we're moving forward as, like, a loving nation and a symbol of freedom for all, so...
00:06:16.520But what do you guys think? Do you think Canada is a country that is worth celebrating and being proud to live in?
00:06:21.940Honestly, there's some things that we need to remember, but Canada as itself has built, like, you know, it's built up its reputation over its past 150 years.
00:06:31.700So even though there are Indigenous people in the past that have been wronged, there's still, like, a bunch of accomplishments that Canada has made itself.
00:06:40.480So they should still be recognized, but Canada should still be separated in its own way.
00:06:44.420And what do you guys think makes Canada a great place to live in?
00:06:48.960Yeah, it's a very diverse country. I feel like wherever you go, especially in square one, there's, like, so many people from, like, your home country.
00:06:55.560So many people just know you, so you almost feel like you're at home, especially when you're an immigrant, you know?
00:06:59.260What would be your answer to those that say, you know what, Canada Day is not something that we should be celebrating.
00:07:04.280We should, it should be some sort of, you know, somber moment of reflection?
00:07:07.780Because there are people out there that are genuinely unpatriotic of this country.
00:11:41.940And one of those examples of this sort of this woke push in our country is to make us feel bad about being Canadian, right?
00:11:48.140It's to make us feel like we should be ashamed of what things that happened that we have nothing to do with.
00:11:52.600What is your response to people who say that this is a place where we should, you know, Canada Day is a day we should have a somber day of reflection.
