00:00:00.000 I think that the Liberals right now are just so excited that this issue is something that the
00:00:04.520 media will talk about and use it to paint Conservatives as being sort of anti-woman or
00:00:09.160 whatever. Have you heard, you know, we're at this conference with all these Conservative
00:00:14.400 activists. Have you heard a lot of people talking about it? What's your take on how this will affect
00:00:18.460 the Conservative leadership race and the Conservative movement more broadly in Canada?
00:00:22.700 Yeah, I haven't heard too, too much yet at the conference specifically, but just in the last few
00:00:26.200 days, the one point that I've raised, I think I raised this on my show the other day, is that
00:00:29.400 abortion is a wedge for Conservatives in a way that it isn't for the Liberals. And it used to be,
00:00:34.420 but the Liberals under Justin Trudeau have just purged anyone that doesn't go along with Justin
00:00:39.440 Trudeau's view on this from their caucus. So the Liberals are in lockstep with each other, the NDP,
00:00:44.000 the Bloc are in lockstep. So they know that it's not at all, there's no losing when they bring it 0.95
00:00:50.300 up. They just want to force Conservatives to have some stand up and say I'm pro-life and some stand
00:00:55.280 up and say they're pro-choice. A divide that works within the Conservative Party, that has always
00:00:59.280 allowed for people to approach these issues and other issues of conscience from whichever
00:01:03.440 perspective they'd like. But they know that then the CBC is going to go into overdrive, the Toronto
00:01:08.340 Star, and it's going to be, oh, these antiquated anti-woman dinosaurs, and it just goes into this 0.99
00:01:13.160 whole thing. So what you need is a Conservative that can, and you touched on this with the Andrew
00:01:18.480 Scheer observation, that can defend and sell their position. Not necessarily to convert people,
00:01:25.160 but to explain it. Because defence isn't working. You get Conservatives that end up apologising for
00:01:30.280 their values, which is never the way you win anyone over. Leslyn Lewis has done a great job on this.
00:01:34.920 She's put out her platform on abortion, which has no hidden agenda. And she said, this is what I stand
00:01:39.560 for. Boom, boom, boom. And as a result, there's not really that much criticism that she faces from the
00:01:43.960 media, because they don't sense that weakness that they do a lot of other times. Yeah. Of like,
00:01:49.640 where it's like someone feels like they've been caught doing something they're not supposed to do.
00:01:53.240 No, if you believe it, own it.
