00:00:00.000 For a while there it seemed like Ontario Premier Doug Ford he was becoming another
00:00:09.060 lockdown-loving politician. We got a lot of public health officials across Canada
00:00:13.980 asking for more and more onerous restrictions to be placed on businesses,
00:00:18.240 activities, on people's livelihood. Toronto Public Health, they're putting
00:00:23.280 forward more proposals to the province, seeing Torontonians actions further
00:00:27.560 restricted including saying you can't leave your house unless it's an
00:00:31.700 essential activity from a list that they have deemed are the things that you are
00:00:35.840 permitted to leave for. They also want to see a whole bunch of new added
00:00:39.660 restrictions to business. Now look we're all reasonable folks here and if a case
00:00:44.780 is presented that well this particular setting that we know is driving cases
00:00:49.400 here's the numbers here's the data here's deaths that have been caused by this
00:00:53.680 setting being open, people congregating in it. Alright well let's talk it out and
00:00:57.820 well maybe we can actually work something out here, shut down those sectors, support
00:01:02.260 those people in the interim and so forth. But that's not what we're being
00:01:05.380 presented with here. I've discussed before about how various reporting has
00:01:09.100 proven that they don't know for certain what is driving a lot of these cases.
00:01:13.780 Oh gyms, restaurants, gotta shut them down. Okay show us the work and they don't
00:01:19.120 have that. Some public health officials they've actually stepped forward and kind
00:01:22.420 have admitted that the that the spreadsheets the software they're
00:01:24.980 working with isn't even allowing them to capture that level of information.
00:01:28.840 That's that's really troubling out there. That's really problematic. So when some
00:01:33.460 public health officials are calling for more restrictions it's because well they
00:01:37.240 sort of kind of think maybe this is gonna help or they have a hunch or yeah they
00:01:41.260 feel this is probably causing stuff. That's not enough and Doug Ford he seemed
00:01:46.840 like he was going along with this inertia for a while. He seemed like he was a
00:01:50.980 lockdown loving politician but on Monday good on him he actually put his foot
00:01:55.060 down and said no he wants to see the evidence from places like Toronto Public
00:01:59.920 Health before he acts on these restrictions. In fact he went so far as to
00:02:04.060 say he wants to exhaust every single avenue first prior to ruining a person's
00:02:10.900 life. It was really great to hear him talk that way because he was
00:02:14.080 acknowledging lockdown should be the last recourse. There's a very high burden of
00:02:20.100 proof to do further restrictions and that further restrictions are harming
00:02:24.740 people as well just as much or well to what or whatever degree is the corona
00:02:29.640 viruses. If we had some super calculation where we could determine the cost of the
00:02:34.860 lockdowns versus the negative health effects of corona virus well who knows
00:02:39.160 what it would say but it's certainly looking like the lockdowns are really really
00:02:44.040 having their toll on people's health on the economy and more. We got to take a
00:02:49.140 holistic look at this and more and more medical experts are actually stepping
00:02:52.980 forward to argue that very point and it's great to see that Doug Ford is
00:02:56.820 heading in that direction.
