00:01:33.480 friends and family through this time I'm not a Jewish person I'm a great ally of Israel but

00:02:09.760 ground but in our own community there is a heightened sense of of fear and that's exactly what these

00:02:24.000 the world its intention is to destabilize the normal daily lives of of Jews living in communities

00:04:50.480 being handled out of ottawa what's your take on this i mean is the government doing
00:04:54.380 enough to help uh canadians just this basic consular role that global affairs is supposed
00:05:00.060 to be providing well look certainly not and we've uh we've we've managed to call and push

00:05:15.280 country and any at any given time um there are tons who are visiting studying um uh you know
00:05:22.160 celebrating something in in israel so the very fact that they would reach out to our office
00:05:27.540 suggests that they're not getting the answers that they need from from government you know nobody on
00:05:31.860 the other end of the phone a uh an auto standard reply saying you know please don't travel to israel
00:05:37.680 to people who are in israel saying that the embassy is open the embassy is closed uh call this number but
00:05:42.900 nobody answers and when you're in a situation where you are fearful uh you you should at the very least
00:05:50.000 expect that the government is going to answer the phone so they were slow off the mark slow to start
00:05:55.920 uh and finally finally uh after a major push uh do we have the the first flights out of uh of
00:06:02.260 canadians wanting to come home you mentioned that fear is the goal for hamas and its supporters just
00:06:09.580 in closing melissa what's your message to jewish canadians but i'd say all canadians for
00:06:14.700 taking the next few days and weeks this is all canadians and i i would say you know watch you
00:06:19.700 know watch who has the courage to stand uh by their by their conviction watch very carefully that the
00:06:24.960 the words that are used uh you know for for those in our in our own community here uh north of toronto
00:06:30.860 and in jewish communities and uh in other communities across the country um you know stay stay vigilant and
