00:00:00.000 This is some reporting from Juneau News, my colleague, Kian Bextie, Thomas Keeper, who was the liberal candidate for Calgary Confederation.
00:00:08.000 He has also stepped down and is no longer running after an explosive Juneau News investigation where Kian exposed all kinds of insane allegations, like just totally disturbing things about this individual and his personal life.
00:00:21.720 Juneau News broke the news, exposed him, and within about, I would say about 48 hours later,
00:00:30.480 he was no longer the candidate. So I think that's three candidates that have been removed.
00:00:35.360 Interestingly, for both the Liberals, it took a couple of days for them to eventually do the
00:00:39.820 right thing, whereas the Conservatives, to their credit, cut ties with this candidate almost
00:00:43.980 immediately. What do you think? I mean, to me, I thought that we had kind of moved away from
00:00:48.120 cancel culture and that it wasn't going to be the main story of this election. 0.91
00:00:51.720 And yet every single topic that we've discussed on the show so far today,
00:00:55.280 Mario has been about cancel culture.
00:00:57.420 So do you think this is just sort of accountability in the modern age and
00:01:00.900 we're never going to get away from it?
00:01:02.320 Or is this sort of like an example of cancel culture run amok?
00:01:06.940 I think there is hypersensitivity in some regards and in others there aren't.
00:01:13.000 So, you know, if we look at Paul Chang, he, he was doing, it looked to be
00:01:18.040 some sort of oppressor, it looked very official.
00:01:20.620 It doesn't look like he's on a comedy stage, telling jokes to people.
00:01:24.580 Um, his scenario is not a hypothetical.
00:01:27.280 It is real like this bounty exists.
00:01:29.920 You know, we're going to basically, you could turn this person in, ha ha ha ha.
00:01:34.400 But seriously, there's a reward for him.
00:01:36.000 You could turn them in.
00:01:37.240 And, and it's kind of like, wait a second.
00:01:39.760 That's not very funny yet.
00:01:41.380 The conservatives, as you said, I didn't know he was on a comedy podcast and he
00:01:47.260 had made that joke as distasteful as it is, as I personally don't like it myself
00:01:52.060 within the hour.
00:01:53.040 And that to me just shows the differences in leadership.
