00:00:00.000 This is the heart of the matter, that the experts and the elites at Davos express views that are not widely shared by Canadians.
00:00:08.720 They're pretty extreme. They're pretty out there.
00:00:11.000 Okay, but here's the real issue with Davos.
00:00:13.940 It's not so much that it controls the Trudeau government.
00:00:16.380 I don't think that Klaus Schwab picks up the phone and tells Justin Trudeau what to do.
00:00:20.420 The problem is that Justin Trudeau and the liberals, and by that I mean broadly liberals in politics and media,
00:00:27.060 including most of the media party here, is that they like global institutions.
00:00:31.680 They favor globalism. They like the United Nations. They're aspirational.
00:00:35.800 They like the idea of working together, and they truly believe in the power of these institutions.
00:00:41.160 And that is counter to the growing sentiment in society, who feel like these global institutions don't work,
00:00:46.520 and they're not working in Canada's best interest.
00:00:49.320 They're not working in the best interest of Canadians.
00:00:51.660 In fact, they sort of undermine our sovereignty.
00:00:53.600 And so it's not so much that Trudeau is controlled by them, but it's that Trudeau is inspired by them.
00:00:58.780 Trudeau and his liberal cabinet ministers love going to these kind of global events.
00:01:02.620 They love virtue signaling. They love being at the forefront.
00:01:05.540 They love the glowing profiles that they get from like-minded journalists who also go to these events.
00:01:11.000 So time and time again, they leave Davos, and they come back and basically adopt exactly what was being talked about.
00:01:17.080 So we have a bunch of examples. In June 2021, addressing climate change through carbon taxes,
00:01:22.280 and they used Canada as an example of successful carbon taxes.
00:01:26.680 Likewise, this idea of the Global Future Council on Energy Transition.
00:01:31.440 There was a piece from 2021, Why We Need a Global Framework to Regulate Online Harm.
00:01:36.520 That was talked about at the World Economic Forum, and it was adopted by Canadians.
00:01:40.680 We've seen this also in regards to the United Nations.
00:01:43.380 There was a huge uprising, mostly on the political right, a couple years ago when the United Nations introduced a global compact on migration
00:01:50.560 that basically gave migrants the exact same rights as refugees and said that anyone has the right to travel to any country and try to get citizenship.
00:01:58.260 And the media was very, you know, the media party were very upset, and they were saying, you know, this isn't law, this isn't ratified,
00:02:04.700 this is just basically an aspirational international declaration, so why are conservatives getting worked up about it?
00:02:11.000 Well, the idea is because Trudeau comes home and drafts his legislation based on the nonsense and the gobbledgoop that is being cooked up in these international forums.
00:02:20.280 Again, we see it time and time again, which is why I'm personally very skeptical of the World Economic Forum,
00:02:25.160 and I think that the criticism of the World Economic Forum is not a conspiracy theory.
00:02:29.560 Sure, there are some conspiracy theories, and those should be debunked.
00:02:32.060 It's not true that these people actually control the levers of power, but they inspire governments like the Trudeau government
00:02:38.500 to do all kinds of awful policies that are terrible for the people of Canada.
00:02:43.100 Thank you.
