00:00:00.000 The Freedom Convoy has united Canadians, and calls to end mandates and lockdowns are louder than ever.
00:00:05.900 Meanwhile, the establishment is starting to panic.
00:00:08.320 It's Fake News Friday. I'm Candice Malcolm, and this is The Candice Malcolm Show.
00:00:15.420 Hi, everyone. Thank you so much for tuning in.
00:00:18.220 And so we've seen so many wins recently for the Trucker Convoy.
00:00:22.020 And I want to emphasize how much of an impact these protesters are having,
00:00:27.980 not just in Canada, but all over the world.
00:00:30.340 And to talk about this and to talk about some of the most deranged reactions that we are seeing from legacy media,
00:00:35.460 I am bringing in my friend Ezra Levant today.
00:00:37.840 Ezra is the founder and CEO of Rebel News.
00:00:40.600 He's the host of The Ezra Levant Show.
00:00:42.560 And the thing that the Rebel has done incredibly well during this protest and during these convoys
00:00:47.880 is have people on the ground talking to the truckers, showing the footage, showing the images.
00:00:53.640 So many of their videos have gone viral.
00:00:55.620 They're a huge part of the reason why we're even able to understand the other side of the story.
00:01:00.000 So, Ezra, thank you so much for joining me.
00:01:02.140 And thank you for the tremendous journalism that you guys have been doing over at the Rebel recently.
00:01:06.260 Well, thanks, Candice.
00:01:07.080 Of course, I'm mainly here at the office.
00:01:09.080 Credit goes to our people in the field.
00:01:11.180 Last Saturday, we had reporters in nine different cities.
00:01:15.240 Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Milk River, Cootes, Alberta, Toronto, Ottawa, Quebec City,
00:01:21.900 and Canberra, Australia, where an echo of the Canadian convoys.
00:01:27.280 I see other convoys forming in the Netherlands.
00:01:29.880 In France, they're inspired by the Canadian truckers.
00:01:33.160 And you know what?
00:01:34.140 All it takes is your phone.
00:01:36.020 Your phone can turn you into a journalist.
00:01:38.360 A citizen journalist with the phone in his or her pocket can do more good work than a government journalist
00:01:44.800 sneering and sputtering from a million-dollar studio, because as long as people can see the facts with their own eyes,
00:01:51.580 for example, see that they're positive, Canadian flags, you know, people of all diverse backgrounds,
00:01:57.900 what people see with their own eyes puts a lie to the media party smear that these are racist, sexist, Nazis, or whatever.
00:02:04.720 So it's really been a triumph of citizen journalism over corporate media legacy journalism.
00:02:10.560 Well, I think that's absolutely right, Ezra.
00:02:12.920 And you, again, just you've shown this so that the contrast is so obvious for anyone who can see images of the protests,
00:02:20.300 anyone who goes directly to the source, be it independent media or social media.
00:02:24.580 I mean, TikTok, Instagram, we can see the images flooding out versus the really bad faith coverage that we've had from legacy media
00:02:31.800 that echoes Justin Trudeau's bad faith.
00:02:34.220 I wanted to bring you on there.
00:02:35.380 There's two different threads that you've had over on Twitter, which a thread is just when you have a series of tweets
00:02:40.480 and you make a longer point than you would in just one single tweet.
00:02:44.200 And so I wanted to discuss those two with you.
00:02:46.080 The first one you've already started to pick up on here, this idea that the legacy media,
00:02:50.900 why is it that they're so biased?
00:02:52.780 Why did they fail to give this an honest shake and cover it in a fair and honest way?
00:02:57.180 So I want you to sort of walk us through your thread on the legacy establishment media
00:03:02.460 and why they fail Canadians so much.
00:03:04.580 Yeah, thank you.
00:03:06.140 I mean, I was just daydreaming about it and I just thought, well, I'm just going to write it all down in Twitter.
00:03:11.220 And I guess in the old olden days, I would have written like a 700 word column about it.
00:03:15.900 But in Twitter, you have to do it in little bite sizes.
00:03:18.440 So I thought, OK, why is the media failing?
00:03:21.840 I mean, really, why?
00:03:23.520 OK, well, the first thing, and I don't mean to be mean, but I think that a lot of journalists are lazy.
00:03:29.000 And by that, I mean, they would rather sit in a warm office rewriting a government press release.
00:03:34.720 That's really easy to do than to get bundled up in the cold, go out with strangers and try and wrap their head around.
00:03:41.300 Like it's it's just easier to be lazy.
00:03:43.240 That's the path of least resistance.
00:03:44.960 Governments count on that.
00:03:46.260 That's what press releases and spin doctors are for to to sort of pre-digest what the media does.
00:03:54.780 Our the funny thing is, Candace, as you know, Rebel News has been denied access to the parliamentary press gallery.
00:04:00.900 And that really bugs me because it's discrimination and it's a form of censorship.
00:04:05.560 But that absolutely forces us to get the real news instead of going just to some pre-digested press conference.
00:04:12.720 So we're out there on the street while the fancy reporters are in their offices rewriting Trudeau's press release.
00:04:18.140 So there's laziness and a lack of curiosity.
00:04:20.060 And that's a shame.
00:04:21.680 There's ideological sameness.
00:04:23.840 Like there's no working class people in the media.
00:04:26.200 There just aren't.
00:04:27.700 Almost every journalist went to university and journalism school, which is really just ideological school in these states.
00:04:34.360 It's all critical race theory and whatnot.
00:04:36.460 So you're culturally choosing a certain stratum.
00:04:41.160 One of the least favorite or most favorite things I saw this whole protest was a Globe and Mail reporter.
00:04:50.600 I think her first name is Marika, if I'm pronouncing it right.
00:04:53.340 And she saw a crane like there's not just trucks in Ottawa.
00:04:56.540 There's a crane, a construction crane.
00:04:58.180 And as you probably know, if you've ever seen a crane, there's a hook on the end of it.
00:05:04.320 But there's also a weight so that the chain isn't sort of all flapping around.
00:05:08.820 It's just a weight.
00:05:09.520 It's a ball the size of like a grapefruit, a metal ball.
00:05:12.340 It's a weight.
00:05:13.580 I guess Marika has never seen a crane before.
00:05:15.900 And she finds them terrifying because she said, there's a wrecking ball right outside the prime minister.
00:05:23.280 It's a wrecking ball.
00:05:24.940 I know what a wrecking ball is.
00:05:26.200 It's a thing.
00:05:26.840 You don't actually see them that often anymore because it's not that's a huge ball.
00:05:31.440 That's like, I don't know.
00:05:32.940 It's a huge ball, a chunk of steel.
00:05:35.580 And she thought this little weight was a wrecking ball.
00:05:38.920 And she's tweeting this.
00:05:39.900 And I just thought, you're the expert on the working class, aren't you?
00:05:44.520 You know what working people know and think and want because you thought a little weight was a wrecking ball.
00:05:51.040 And you tweeted that.
00:05:53.060 That's your command of the facts.
00:05:54.880 And it reminded me of something that Charles Murray, the great, amazing philosopher, author, scholar, said.
00:06:01.200 He had a test.
00:06:02.180 He called it, how thick is your bubble?
00:06:03.800 You can find it really quickly on PBS.
00:06:06.440 And it's not a judgment.
00:06:09.000 It's just, do you know how the other half lives?
00:06:11.140 And they ask you questions that are startling when you first hear them, like, have you ever been on a factory floor?
00:06:19.180 Not to work there, but have you actually ever even been on a factory floor?
00:06:23.340 And by the way, you're not a bad person if you haven't.
00:06:26.360 But just realize that you don't know how the other half lives.
00:06:28.580 Have you ever been in a parade that wasn't political or like environmental or gay rights parade?
00:06:33.800 Have you ever been like, here comes the band parade?
00:06:36.960 Because that's a cultural thing.
00:06:39.020 There's one question that shows some military insignia.
00:06:41.500 Can you identify them?
00:06:42.600 Again, it's not a bad thing.
00:06:43.520 But in America and in Canada to a lesser degree, military is the working class.
00:06:48.260 If you don't know anyone who's ever been in the Army, any military branch, then how can you really understand them?
00:06:55.960 He has lots of questions about what restaurants you go to.
00:06:58.780 Applebee's.
00:07:00.300 Oh, no, I would never.
00:07:01.640 Well, okay, fine.
00:07:02.680 But then don't pretend to know how the working classes are.
00:07:06.120 And I'm not pretending I'm working class.
00:07:08.040 I'm what they would very much call middle class.
00:07:09.980 My dad was a doctor.
00:07:10.820 I went to law school.
00:07:11.900 I'm not saying I'm a working man.
00:07:13.240 My hands are soft.
00:07:14.520 But can we understand the trucker and talk to the trucker rather than stay in our ivory tower and condemn the trucker?
00:07:20.820 I made a few other points in the tweet thread.
00:07:24.820 I talked about how it's really an oligopoly and how really all the newspapers in Canada, except for two or three, are owned by post media.
00:07:36.380 So there's no true diversity of thought.
00:07:38.000 I talked about how the TV stations are even more highly regulated, like CTV is owned by Bell.
00:07:43.940 And Bell is extremely regulated.
00:07:45.840 It's cable and cell phone.
00:07:47.280 So I talked about some of the structural problems, the classism problems.
00:07:50.240 And I just tried to understand why the media is getting it so bloody wrong, because they are, Candace, this trucker is like a tsunami.
00:07:58.500 If you've ever seen a terrifying tsunami, it comes and it washes everything away, everything, cars, buildings, God forbid, people.
00:08:07.100 And Aaron O'Toole was washed away by the tsunami of the truckers.
00:08:11.180 Jason Kenney looks like he's wobbling.
00:08:14.280 Scott Moe said, oh, I'm going to get my surfboard and ride it.
00:08:16.940 I'm not going to fight it.
00:08:18.100 He, you know, he's removing restrictions.
00:08:19.660 This tidal wave is so strong, it might actually topple Trudeau.
00:08:23.880 I don't know how that part's going to end.
00:08:25.560 The only institution that literally does not know they are in the middle of a tsunami is the media, because their disgraceful coverage and smearing, they're calumniating against these truckers.
00:08:38.900 It's moved the public perception of journalists from, I don't trust them, to, I hate them and I'll never forgive them because I saw them lie about me.
00:08:48.540 The media has lost as much as Aaron O'Toole has, as Jason Kenney has, as Justin Trudeau has, but the media is always the least, has the fewest consequences for getting it wrong.
00:09:02.300 Aaron O'Toole gets it wrong, he's fired.
00:09:04.060 What's the consequence of the media party for getting this wrong?
00:09:07.100 Nothing.
00:09:08.020 They're all on Trudeau's bailout anyways.
00:09:09.780 They don't care.
00:09:11.020 The media does not understand that they have been just as rocked by this as have every other institution.
00:09:16.660 And from a selfish point of view, I hope they never realize what they got wrong, because all the better for Rebel News and True North.
00:09:24.580 But the media does not yet know how damaging this has been to them.
00:09:29.060 That's so interesting, Ezra.
00:09:31.160 And there's a couple of things I want to pick up on what you said, because you mentioned the social scientist Charles Murray and that bubble reader that he had.
00:09:39.080 And I remember that book came out, I think it was probably around 2006 or 2007.
00:09:42.640 And I read it and it alarmed me and concerned me.
00:09:46.240 And I remember thinking about how I observed those trends in the United States.
00:09:50.880 And it was far from Canada.
00:09:52.200 Canada didn't feel that way.
00:09:53.100 Canada didn't feel like there was this big kind of class divide between the working class and the middle class.
00:09:57.440 And it's so interesting how over the last 15 years, you know, you can see it.
00:10:02.200 You can see it so clearly.
00:10:03.840 The elitism in the Globe and Mail, the CTV reporters, the way that they talk about these truckers, the liberal MPs and people like Gerald Butts, the way that they talk and try to smear these these truckers as being extremists and radicals and racists and terrorists.
00:10:18.500 Everything is just so dripping in in classism.
00:10:21.100 So I'm glad you pointed that out.
00:10:22.780 And also the media.
00:10:23.720 I mean, I know True North has had I was just looking at our stats today as where we had 30 million views on Twitter of our tweets.
00:10:30.980 We gained something like twenty five thousand Twitter followers.
00:10:33.460 And I'm sure you guys are in a very similar road, if not way more, because you have more reporters on the ground than we do.
00:10:38.080 But there is a shift happening.
00:10:40.460 You can feel it.
00:10:41.500 And that sort of segues me to your second thread that you put out last night.
00:10:45.980 It was it was riveting.
00:10:46.920 I was I was trying to get to bed because I get up super early with my kids.
00:10:50.480 But I had to stay online as we're just to just to see how how the thread was going to end.
00:10:54.640 But you you walk us through your theory on how the trucker rebellion is going to end.
00:10:59.200 But you first you walk us through some really interesting ideas about how this is really hurting Trudeau, how Gerald Butts is is sort of spiraling out of control.
00:11:08.820 He threatened to sue Jordan Peterson over over a pretty straightforward tweet.
00:11:14.880 But I want you to sort of walk us through your hypothesis here and give us the you know, the Ezra Levant preview of what you think is going to happen, how it's all going to end.
00:11:25.940 I will.
00:11:26.980 But give me 30 seconds.
00:11:28.080 You said something.
00:11:28.760 So I just looked it up on my phone.
00:11:30.140 Forgive me when when you the Globe and Mail had a had an article, an editorial by Andrew Coyne.
00:11:37.380 And I just I just got a I did a tweet about it.
00:11:39.860 Forgive me.
00:11:40.580 Let me just read this for one second.
00:11:41.980 Then I'll answer your question.
00:11:43.140 So the Globe and Mail said that the truckers are and I'm going to list it.
00:11:47.940 You can read the article for yourself.
00:11:50.140 The Globe and Mail said the truckers are loons, absurd, hostage takers, white nationalists, intolerable, violent, frightened, angry, vastly uninformed and disturbing.
00:12:05.880 And then here's the punchline and almost routinely insulting.
00:12:13.140 You know, here's 20 insults.
00:12:18.880 And you guys are so insulting, too.
00:12:21.320 Oh, my God.
00:12:23.060 So, yeah, I mean, are you trying to win?
00:12:28.000 You know, someone needs a Dale Carnegie book.
00:12:30.500 How to influence people and make friends.
00:12:32.700 Oh, my God.
00:12:33.440 OK, I just wanted to like what you said made me think of that Globe article.
00:12:37.460 They don't know what they look.
00:12:38.340 But remember, the media isn't playing to a mass audience anymore.
00:12:42.300 They're playing to an audience of one person.
00:12:44.040 His name is Justin Trudeau because he is by far their biggest financier through the media bailout, but also through advertising and regulatory.
00:12:54.060 When I mentioned that Bell owns CTV, if Bell gets a good ruling from the CRTC on a cell phone deal or a cable deal, that could be a billion dollars.
00:13:02.020 That's much more important than anything CTV News does.
00:13:05.940 Anyways, I just want to tell you that.
00:13:07.180 But back to your question.
00:13:08.040 I think I think I figured out how it's going to end.
00:13:13.560 Because Trudeau can't can't blink.
00:13:15.660 Right.
00:13:15.780 He can't.
00:13:16.200 Have you ever seen Trudeau admit he was wrong?
00:13:19.480 I haven't.
00:13:20.760 He's very good at apologizing for other people.
00:13:22.860 That's sort of an ironic apology.
00:13:24.240 Like, I'm better than you.
00:13:25.580 Like, I'm sorry that Harper was so evil.
00:13:30.220 Therefore, you know, I'm better than him because I'm apologizing for him.
00:13:33.300 So I've never seen Trudeau apologize for anything.
00:13:35.300 Remember when he was caught sexually assaulting Rose Knight in Creston, B.C.?
00:13:39.480 He said, well, she experienced it differently.
00:13:42.120 Like that.
00:13:42.580 I've never seen him apologize.
00:13:44.240 He can't lose face.
00:13:45.720 It's part of his sociopathic game.
00:13:48.200 Just be confident.
00:13:49.120 Just brazen it out.
00:13:50.160 Whenever he gets convicted by the conflict of interest commissioner, just brazen it out.
00:13:53.620 This is a learning opportunity for everyone.
00:13:55.440 He never says sorry.
00:13:56.840 So what happens, Candace, when you say about 10 times that the truckers are misogynist, racist, Nazis,
00:14:05.300 intolerable, when you say all these things again and again and again, I will not meet with them.
00:14:13.000 How can you then meet with them?
00:14:14.360 You just said they were Nazis.
00:14:15.800 Are you meeting with Nazis now?
00:14:17.700 So he's really painted himself in the corner.
00:14:20.160 And I really think that's a handiwork of Gerald, who suddenly is being rehabilitated for some reason by the media.
00:14:25.200 How did that happen?
00:14:25.900 Like he was drummed out of Canada.
00:14:27.780 He went to work for a New York lobby firm called the Eurasia Group because he was so disgraced in Canada for interfering in the SNC-Lavalin prosecution.
00:14:35.760 And now he's back as this honored, you know, wise man.
00:14:39.360 And Gerald Butts is just dripping with wrath about these truckers.
00:14:43.880 And I'm guessing he's talking to Trudeau again because, you know, he says something one day on TV.
00:14:48.740 Trudeau is saying it the next day in Parliament.
00:14:51.500 So I think Gerald Butts is really a bad influence on Trudeau.
00:14:55.660 But it's always worked for Butts, in fairness.
00:14:58.280 You know, call your enemies racist sex.
00:14:59.660 It works against Andrew Scheer.
00:15:00.920 It worked against Aaron O'Toole.
00:15:02.980 You know, it just always works.
00:15:05.280 It didn't work this time maybe because there's so many diverse truckers, lots of Sikh truckers.
00:15:10.380 A million people have seen the convoy with their own eyes.
00:15:12.600 So they know that they've been lied to.
00:15:15.360 So the racism accusations don't work.
00:15:17.060 But what is done to Trudeau is it's painted him into a corner.
00:15:20.160 Point one, it's caused two Liberal MPs to abandon the party.
00:15:23.980 That's shocking.
00:15:24.980 Did you expect the two Liberal MPs were going to quit over this?
00:15:28.940 So what can Trudeau?
00:15:29.920 He can't back down, right?
00:15:30.860 He can't blink.
00:15:32.020 So how is he going to get out of this pickle?
00:15:33.800 And it's not going away.
00:15:34.800 You've got the Ambassador Bridge now.
00:15:36.180 You've got a bridge in Sarnia.
00:15:38.080 You've got the border crossing in North Dakota.
00:15:40.020 You've got the border crossing in Montana.
00:15:41.260 Oh, my God, this thing's growing.
00:15:43.300 And what's he going to do?
00:15:44.280 And by the way, these protesters are peaceful.
00:15:47.420 So you can't you don't have a moment where you can swoop in and say they're the insurrectionists.
00:15:52.720 I mean, he's trying that.
00:15:53.520 People laugh.
00:15:54.380 So here's how I think it's going to end.
00:15:57.300 That Ambassador Bridge between Detroit and Windsor across the Detroit River.
00:16:01.600 That's the most important bridge in North America from an economic point of view.
00:16:05.380 A quarter of all Canada U.S. trade goes over that bridge.
00:16:08.200 It's over 100 million bucks a day because that's really the bridge that the the auto industry uses on both sides.
00:16:15.860 That's shut down.
00:16:17.660 And all of a sudden they're talking about the convoy in Washington, D.C.
00:16:22.340 And Jen Psaki, who is much more than any ordinary press secretary.
00:16:27.260 I think she's the de facto vice president, if you want my opinion.
00:16:31.800 She was asked about it.
00:16:33.240 And did she lash out?
00:16:34.980 Did she say racist, Nazi, blah, blah?
00:16:37.280 And believe me, the Democrats can do that if they want.
00:16:39.480 She did not.
00:16:40.060 In fact, she led that day by talking about all the things Joe Biden has done for truckers.
00:16:46.400 And she specifically praised the truckers' freedom of speech.
00:16:50.260 And she said, oh, this is just some local congestion.
00:16:53.020 She de-escalated her language, the opposite of Trudeau.
00:16:57.200 Why?
00:16:59.040 Do you think they want these trucker convoys in America?
00:17:01.980 You think Joe Biden wants that?
00:17:03.160 He's already at 32% in the polls, whatever it is.
00:17:07.660 Inflation, disaster in Afghanistan, disaster with China, disasters everywhere.
00:17:14.920 High prices of gasoline.
00:17:17.520 He's going to be wiped out in the midterms in Congress.
00:17:20.320 Does he need another layer of that?
00:17:22.280 Does he need to lose the trucking working class demographic now?
00:17:26.600 No, he most certainly does not.
00:17:29.420 Does he want this?
00:17:30.380 And it's sneaking across the border.
00:17:32.440 It's on two bridges now.
00:17:34.940 Pull up the drawbridge.
00:17:36.700 What's he going to do?
00:17:37.700 And here's how I ended my tweet storm.
00:17:40.160 Sorry to keep you up last night, Ken.
00:17:42.020 Joe Biden has not painted himself into a corner, has he?
00:17:46.460 Joe Biden can...
00:17:47.720 And by the way, the truckers have already helped free America.
00:17:49.980 In the last week, six Democratic states have said we're done with masks.
00:17:53.460 I think that's attributed to the truckers.
00:17:55.660 Because this is 24-7 coverage of these Canadian trucks in America and around the world.
00:17:59.880 I mean, I've been on Fox four times.
00:18:01.920 I was on Tucker.
00:18:02.720 I just got off the show with Huckabee.
00:18:04.340 They can't get enough of this.
00:18:06.720 So Joe Biden, here's my prediction.
00:18:08.560 He's going to say, guess what, guys?
00:18:10.700 It's working.
00:18:11.700 Our plan is working.
00:18:13.320 Here is St. Fauci saying we can relax the vaccine mandate for truckers because we got this licked.
00:18:19.020 Oh, we're so successful.
00:18:20.940 We're normalizing.
00:18:22.340 I'm ending the trucker mandates in America.
00:18:25.000 You're welcome, teamsters.
00:18:26.440 Oh, thanks for posing for a photo op with me.
00:18:28.260 Because he's not eating his hat.
00:18:31.540 He's not eating his words, is he?
00:18:33.980 He's not looking embarrassed.
00:18:37.900 He should say, oh, it was successful.
00:18:40.440 And if Joe Biden removes the trucker vaccinated on the U.S. side, obviously Trudeau will have to do it on the Canadian side because these trucks just make endless round trips, right?
00:18:51.640 You can't go into one country and have a quarantine, but not the other.
00:18:56.260 Like, it just makes no sense.
00:18:58.060 So if Biden drops, you have to have both on or both off.
00:19:01.740 So if Biden drops the vaccine mandate on the U.S. side, Trudeau will have to drop it on the Canadian side.
00:19:08.520 I think that's how it's going to end.
00:19:10.740 And Justin Trudeau will say, oh, I'm doing it because of Biden.
00:19:13.880 But he will have to give in to the truckers because Biden does not want the fiasco that Trudeau has made for himself.
00:19:24.540 Biden, I don't even think he's the decider down there.
00:19:27.800 It may even be Jim Psaki herself.
00:19:30.300 For all their flaws, they're grownups.
00:19:32.760 And they don't need a spitting match with working class Americans calling them Nazis.
00:19:37.820 So I think Joe Biden's sense of self-preservation and terror about the looming U.S. midterm elections will cause him to take the stinger out on the U.S. side.
00:19:51.760 The truckers will have done it, but the politician they will have convinced is not Trudeau, but rather Joe Biden.
00:20:00.120 And I believe that win is coming within days because that ambassador bridge cannot stay closed.
00:20:08.140 It cannot.
00:20:09.980 And Joe Biden will do.
00:20:11.540 And Michigan's a Democrat state.
00:20:13.920 Joe Biden will do what he has to do to clear that bridge.
00:20:18.240 That's my thesis.
00:20:19.660 It's so interesting.
00:20:20.600 That's so interesting.
00:20:21.420 I think you're really onto something because I agree.
00:20:23.600 I listen to a lot of podcasts and watch a lot of American news.
00:20:26.760 And they're all talking about the convoy.
00:20:28.840 Like Ben Shapiro's entire show yesterday was based on the convoy.
00:20:32.040 It is everywhere.
00:20:33.460 And, you know, even Barry Weiss had a piece on her sub stack.
00:20:37.720 Brett Weinstein was talking about it.
00:20:39.100 Like it's front of mind for Americans.
00:20:42.260 And interesting how suddenly the U.S., so many of these states are getting rid of their mask mandates.
00:20:48.840 You know, we've seen, we have seen.
00:20:51.100 And the other thing, when Jen Psaki was responding, I hadn't seen that clip until I saw it in your Twitter thread there.
00:20:58.700 And as soon as the question comes up, she quickly goes to her notes.
00:21:01.660 So that wasn't just a spontaneous response.
00:21:03.780 They had prepared and she was ready.
00:21:06.000 And she said exactly what she meant to say, which, you know, goes to show the premeditation.
00:21:11.240 So I think you're right about the analysis.
00:21:12.840 I hope you're right about the way this ends, because it looks like the truckers have just been scoring point after point after point after point.
00:21:19.820 You know, Aaron O'Toole is gone.
00:21:21.760 You have the CPC coming out in support of the trucker convoy.
00:21:24.560 I know they're now telling them that it's time to leave, but they're in support of the idea of mandates.
00:21:28.820 We're seeing more speeches from MPs on the floor, right?
00:21:31.340 We see Saskatchewan, Alberta, Manitoba, Prince Edward Island even, all talking about removing their restrictions.
00:21:38.800 Quebec got rid of their evil, terrible vax tax idea that they were going to add an additional tax to the unvaccinated.
00:21:46.720 I think that if they were to win on this and have this mandate disappear, it would be one of the biggest political victories in modern Canadian history.
00:21:57.100 I want to ask you a final question, Ezra.
00:22:00.140 Your analysis of Justin Trudeau, to me, seems correct.
00:22:03.700 I think that he's made a mistake.
00:22:05.640 He's backed himself into a corner.
00:22:07.540 He's coming across as angry and out of touch.
00:22:10.300 And so many Canadians are seeing through it.
00:22:12.040 Two members of his own party have publicly come out against him.
00:22:16.840 I don't think that's ever happened in his career as leader of the Liberal Party.
00:22:20.600 I know that he had a falling out and he kicked Jody Wilson-Raybould and Jane Philpott out of the party, but that was like a foul swoop.
00:22:28.980 They didn't come out and disagree with him.
00:22:30.840 They were just out of the party, whereas I haven't seen anything like that for these two liberals who are speaking out.
00:22:36.360 They're both male MPs from Quebec, so really interesting.
00:22:40.860 What do you think is going to happen to Trudeau?
00:22:42.640 Do you think that he can recover from this politically?
00:22:45.500 How do you see that part playing out?
00:22:48.040 You know, I deleted TikTok, the app on my phone, because I was worried about Chinese malware, to be honest.
00:22:54.860 But I've reloaded it.
00:22:56.620 Maybe that's a bad idea, because I find TikTok a window onto worlds other than my own.
00:23:01.900 Younger, more female.
00:23:04.760 In other words, Justin Trudeau's base.
00:23:07.600 Ethnic.
00:23:08.440 Like, there's people on TikTok doing and saying things that I can't find elsewhere.
00:23:13.240 I think it's a way to tap into a younger zeitgeist.
00:23:15.500 And I am stunned every day to see the opposition to Trudeau amongst young women, amongst cool people, amongst minorities, amongst Sikhs.
00:23:28.620 Like, I follow this Sikh guy named Pal Minder.
00:23:31.280 He's a Sikh trucker.
00:23:32.500 Every day, he's just doing killer vids about Trudeau and the man.
00:23:37.560 He's maybe a 25-year-old guy.
00:23:39.760 He's got a beautiful beard and turban.
00:23:42.100 And he's just giving her.
00:23:43.520 And so I see these people, and they've taken it personally.
00:23:48.700 They've taken the insults personally.
00:23:51.080 You know, a lot of young people really care about fitness.
00:23:53.740 They're sick of the...
00:23:54.860 The funny thing here, Candace, is that most of the lockdowns were done by cities and provinces.
00:24:01.760 Trudeau was responsible for the airline fiasco and everything to do with that, including the COVID hotels at the airports, the no flying rules.
00:24:10.860 But really, so little of this was Trudeau.
00:24:14.520 So much of it was the premiers.
00:24:16.780 But in the last two weeks, it's like Trudeau has become the liver of the Canadian political body.
00:24:23.820 And he has defined...
00:24:27.280 He has made himself the target for everything.
00:24:29.800 All the toxins are now on him.
00:24:31.760 Like, these truckers are mad about 10 different things, nine of which were done by premiers and mayors.
00:24:37.840 But the 10th thing is on Trudeau.
00:24:40.040 And he has been more brutal towards them than any other political leader.
00:24:44.360 And my point is, I don't think when a young person, a young woman, a young new immigrant, a working class person sees that, I don't think they can unsee that.
00:24:56.860 And I think I've always believed that he was a faker.
00:25:00.660 I very early assessed him as a male feminist, which is a manipulative deceiver who fakes being a feminist to actually be a player or an abusive man.
00:25:12.120 His sexual assault of Rose Knight is proof of that.
00:25:15.180 I've always felt him a deceiver.
00:25:16.920 He's a blackface guy who calls you racist.
00:25:19.780 You know, he takes away your civil liberties by calling you violent.
00:25:22.780 He projects that way.
00:25:24.100 It's a form of psychological abuse.
00:25:25.720 And until you see it, you think he's dreamy.
00:25:30.620 But the moment you see that that male feminist was actually abusive or that guy scolding you about using your right pronouns, he was actually sexist.
00:25:40.080 You can never unsee it.
00:25:41.160 In fact, it's more than just learning the truth.
00:25:44.060 You feel like you were deceived before.
00:25:45.780 And you're sort of angry that you were tricked before.
00:25:48.120 I believe that you cannot unsee those fangs.
00:25:54.500 And he was Mr. Sunnyways in 2015.
00:25:57.700 And in 2019, he was friendlier than Andrew Scheer and sexier and even against Aaron O'Toole.
00:26:04.900 But I think he looks old and bitter and desperate.
00:26:09.180 And most of all, he looks angry.
00:26:12.600 I don't know.
00:26:16.240 I wouldn't bet on him.
00:26:18.380 And if Pierre Polyev is the next leader of the conservatives, I think Pierre's got a chance of winning.
00:26:23.540 Well, I think that's a great way to end the episode, Ezra, because it gives us some hope that hopefully Justin Trudeau's time as a leader of this country is soon coming to an end.
00:26:34.120 Because I tend to agree with you.
00:26:35.940 I think that the way he's handled this is really exposed his worst flaw, which is that he hates, I think he hates conservatives more than he loves Canada.
00:26:44.680 And in the case of the vaccines, it's like he hates the unvaccinated more than he loves his country.
00:26:50.660 And that's such a bad look.
00:26:52.320 Ezra Levant, thank you so much for joining us.
00:26:53.960 I really enjoy your journalism and your takes on these issues.
00:26:57.160 Keep up the good work over there at Rebel News.
00:26:59.840 Thanks.
00:27:00.280 You too.
00:27:00.740 We're big fans of True North.
00:27:01.920 And thanks for having me, Candace.
00:27:03.180 All right.
00:27:03.540 Thank you so much.
00:27:04.200 Thanks for tuning in.
00:27:04.820 It's been Fake News Friday.
00:27:05.740 I'm Candace Malcolm.
00:27:06.440 And this is The Candace Malcolm Show.
