Juno News - Identity politics once again rears its ugly head

00:00:00.000 I was reluctant at first to even engage on this topic, to even talk about it.

00:00:05.900 It's so outrageous, so egregious.

00:00:08.560 It's such an unfortunate, sad time in Canada,

00:00:12.980 following the wake of this horrible, horrible tragedy with the Humboldt Broncos.

00:00:18.840 But the reason that I brought it up and the reason that I'm doing this video right now

00:00:22.700 is just to show exactly how far this movement will go,

00:00:28.360 how ruthless they are, how ugly identity politics is,

00:00:32.500 and how the left looks at every single situation through the lens of identity politics.

00:00:37.520 We're no longer individuals in society.

00:00:39.760 We're no longer united as citizens, in this case as Canadians.

00:00:44.540 Instead, we're always divided into these groups, into these identity groups,

00:00:49.240 so that we can be pitted against each other.

00:00:51.760 So I'll let you know what I'm talking about, especially for folks on Facebook.

00:00:56.180 I tweeted this out yesterday.

00:00:59.940 I saw it. It was brought to my attention, this tweet.

00:01:03.960 And at first, I just, you know, I didn't know whether I should ignore it,

00:01:07.020 whether I should engage with this individual.

00:01:09.600 I decided to engage with her.

00:01:11.720 I'm not sure if it was a mistake.

00:01:13.600 I didn't even really want to dignify what she had written with a response,

00:01:17.500 so I literally just tweeted it and said, delete your account,

00:01:20.820 which, delete your account is something that's like, you know, 0.99

00:01:25.000 your reaction to the stupidest thing possible. 0.92

00:01:27.200 It's like, it's not even worth coming up with an explanation as to why you're wrong. 1.00

00:01:31.500 You know, just shut up. 0.99

00:01:32.680 Just delete your account and go away. 0.99

00:01:33.800 So that's what I tweeted to this individual,

00:01:38.360 a social justice warrior from Quebec,

00:01:40.720 freelance writer named Nora Loreto.

00:01:43.440 So she did a string here. 0.95

00:01:46.820 She was criticizing the fact that the GoFundMe campaign for the Humboldt Broncos

00:01:52.660 has raised millions of dollars.

00:01:54.380 I think it's over, I think it's now the biggest campaign in Canadian history on GoFundMe.

00:01:59.480 I think it's the third biggest in the history of that site.

00:02:02.760 Over 6.7 million last time I checked.

00:02:05.560 So she just retweeted the HuffPo Canada story

00:02:08.920 showing the update of the Humboldt Broncos fundraising campaign

00:02:14.200 and said this is a lot of money.

00:02:16.160 Then she goes,

00:02:17.700 I'm trying to not get cynical about what is totally devastating tragedy,

00:02:23.120 but the maleness, the youthfulness, and the whiteness of the victims

00:02:26.660 are, of course, playing a significant role.

00:02:29.400 And then she puts out another few tweets sort of just saying

00:02:32.880 that she wishes that this kind of attention was given to other victims.

00:02:38.200 She's specifically talking about women and girls 0.73

00:02:42.940 who are victims as well of domestic violence.

00:02:49.020 So this was sort of inevitable.

00:02:51.720 This was going to happen that sooner or later

00:02:53.960 a social justice warrior was going to go there 0.99

00:02:56.120 because they always divide people into groups.

00:02:59.340 So you're not an individual Canadian.

00:03:01.200 You're just a member of a group based on your gender and your race

00:03:05.220 and apparently now your age as well.

00:03:07.120 And so they split us into these groups

00:03:09.240 where you're not an individual, you're just a member of a group.

00:03:11.500 And then they create a hierarchy of who's a bigger victim, right?

00:03:14.700 So when it comes to this victim hierarchy,

00:03:17.980 the lowest on the totem pole, the lowest group, is white men. 0.84

00:03:21.480 And so when a tragedy happens to strike it, it happens to be of white men, 0.99

00:03:27.240 of course, there's going to be someone 1.00

00:03:28.660 who makes it just a totally idiotic comment about it. 0.99

00:03:33.120 So with what was going on, 0.99

00:03:35.020 because I just wanted to show, you know,

00:03:37.520 it's an example of how deranged the mind of these activists are,

00:03:42.560 that they can't even look at a tragedy and see how horrible it is,

00:03:46.440 but they have to try to somehow vilify,

00:03:49.120 try to bring in their divisive games that they play

00:03:52.400 of pitting us against each other.

00:03:54.440 And so, you know, she's angry and resentful

00:03:57.360 that the fact that this story's gotten so much traction

00:04:02.100 and that it's resonating not just all over Canada,

00:04:05.060 but really all over the world.

00:04:06.980 There's people supporting, you know, putting their hockey sticks out.

00:04:10.440 There's images of the Canadian embassy in Ukraine full of flowers,

00:04:17.940 you know, outpouring of support all over the world.

00:04:20.900 The fact that they've raised $6.5, $6.7 million,

00:04:24.060 people are donating all over

00:04:25.580 because it's a story that resonates with all of us.

00:04:28.540 And so seeing a left-wing activist trying to turn it into an issue 0.70

00:04:32.440 about race and gender and, again, just leftist divisive identity politics,

00:04:38.200 it's just so gut-wrenching.

00:04:41.580 It's so awful.

00:04:43.520 And I just wanted to show my followers on Twitter and now on Facebook

00:04:47.920 the type of things that the left engages in

00:04:50.600 in an attempt to divide us.
