00:00:00.000Well we're here down at Dufferin Grove Park where a very sizable encampment has formed in recent
00:00:11.340weeks. Many of them have come from Alexandra Park and Trinity Bellwoods Park which of course
00:00:17.700were cleared out over the summer thankfully. The bad news is that there are dozens of tents here
00:00:23.820and people because of the very balmy October weather seem to be having a good time kind of
00:00:29.580playing the music and partying. The good news is that the city is down here. Municipal licensing
00:00:36.340and Streets to Homes people trying to convince the occupants of the tents to come inside. We met
00:00:42.960up with a couple of municipal licensing and Streets to Homes officers who said that over the next two
00:00:49.500weeks they will be continuing to talk to the occupants of the tents and convincing them to
00:00:56.040come indoors before what could be a very very cold winter strikes. And we're hoping to do with
00:01:06.540everybody in the park so for the next two weeks once that happens things may escalate. Everybody's been
00:01:13.560approached. So right now the big reason why we're here is we're trying to deter new residents from taking place.
00:01:20.700Because right now everybody's been accounted for. Everybody's got a system home representative that
00:01:26.280they're engaging with on a regular daily basis. And everybody you know we know what they need.
00:01:32.280Everything is mapped out basically. So right now we're trying to do is prevent new people from coming in.
00:01:39.060And then if they come in and we can't deter them from leaving we'll add them to the list. But that's what we're trying to do as of right now.
00:01:47.700The other good news is that we were better received today than the last time we were down here when a group
00:01:54.240of Indigenous people chased us out of the park and we were forced to call the police. That's probably because
00:02:00.640there is a municipal licensing officer presence here. They are also here they told us to convince people
00:02:08.360who try to erect a tent that it's illegal to do so. Let's hope all the tents are cleared out in the next couple
