Justin Trudeau's comments at the Glasgow climate change gabfest are nothing short of crazy talk, and we need to take it with a grain of salt. I've previously said we have to stop taking these climate change conferences seriously, and I think we're getting there.

We need to talk about the fact that a couple things Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said at
00:00:09.520
the latest COP26 Glasgow climate change gabfest are just outright crazy talk and we need to
00:00:17.520
acknowledge that. So one, he gets up there and he says we need to talk about bringing in a global
00:00:23.900
carbon tax. Two, he gets up and says he is proposing to introduce a hard cap on oil and
00:00:32.100
gas sector emissions here in Canada. Now those were things that are major departures from the
00:00:38.840
current conversation. What we talk about in Canada right now is well what's the sort of carbon tax
00:00:43.760
needed? What level should it be at? And a lot of people still agree as I do that there does not
00:00:48.640
need to be a carbon tax at all in Canada. That's kind of where the conversation is at. That's sort
00:00:53.100
of the normal parameters of discussion. And then Trudeau just steps forward and doesn't do this
00:00:58.480
in Canada of course. Does this abroad with his climate buddies and he says we're going to bring
00:01:03.440
in these things that are really major enhancements to put it mildly of where the conversation has
00:01:10.200
been at. And a lot of people are just not blinking. It's just considered background noise. Now I haven't
00:01:16.620
followed COP26 all that much. The sort of details of what everyone else is saying because you know
00:01:21.320
because I have a life and because it's incredibly tedious to actually watch these things. Joe Biden
00:01:25.800
fell asleep during them. I don't blame him. I would fall asleep watching them as well. I'm not sure
00:01:30.740
where what Justin Trudeau said actually fits in the realm of like other crazy talk that's going on
00:01:36.140
there. But it does seem like he certainly upped the ante. And that's not cool. I mean this stuff is a
00:01:43.060
real stretch. Hard cap on oil and gas sector emissions. I mean these are the sorts of things that
00:01:47.760
you would expect say Stephen Gobeau to have said when he was being taken away by police when
00:01:52.700
he was being arrested for his Greenpeace stunts. You know they're dragging him away to the cop car
00:01:56.800
and he's going hard cap, hard cap, global carbon tax. And they're like oh that's just you know
00:02:00.440
some activist being arrested. You know take it all with a grain of salt. This is what our own prime
00:02:05.000
minister is just cavalierly saying. I mean these are things that if we're going to go down those roads
00:02:11.040
and we should not. I do not believe so. They should be discussed quite a lot in great detail
00:02:17.280
among us as a community. Among Canadians. You know voters here and citizens, taxpayers here. It isn't
00:02:24.040
something that Trudeau should just show up, get on the plane, go hang out with these other climate
00:02:28.220
people and just be like oh hey guys by the way I'm doing this in Canada. And they all applaud and you
00:02:31.940
move on. And you're like what? No. These are massive things to be doing. Things that are going to be
00:02:37.840
pretty disastrous to our economy, to the global economy. And of course the whole question of
00:02:43.520
whether or not these are actually the things that are needed to bring about good green initiatives.
00:02:47.920
Because there's a whole lot of private individuals, industry, putting a lot of R&D into this that
00:02:53.100
are actually making the real changes for climate initiatives. They have nothing to do with what
00:02:58.340
government's doing. So it's kind of frustrating, troubling, just downright weird that Trudeau is
00:03:03.580
actually saying these extreme things right now over at this climate conference. So I think people
00:03:08.920
should pause and go what exactly is going on? What's the kind of stuff that they're breaking down
00:03:14.980
there? I've previously said we have to stop taking these climate conferences seriously. The only
00:03:20.080
problem with that of course is the attendees, well they, are taking it seriously. And that should
